17. citizen science
The collection and analysis of data
relating to the natural world by members
of the general public, typically as part
of a collaborative project with
professional scientists.
19. Historical bond
In the year 1936 there was a census of springs in
Estonia.
Then, most of the census was filled in by school
principals, who tasked students in finding the
information.
Now, 80 years later, we continue to engage
school teachers and children throughout the
country to participate in investigation of natural
water sources.
20. ESTONIA 100 SHOOLSOURCE’S
We integrate this theme into various classes, as
example poetry, painting, singing, fitness,
dancing, drawing, sculpture, ceramics,
environmental studies, heritage collection,
photography, geography, biology, earth sciences,
hiking etc
Trough children the whole community will became
more aware of the cultural heritage a value of
clean water. Wells and water springs/-sources
that are maintained will become an object of
ecotourism.
