Obesity vis-à-vis Sthoulya
• Adiposity: Excessive
accumulation of lipids in a site
or organ.
• simple obesity -obesity
resulting when caloric intake
exceeds energy expenditure.
• morbid obesity - obesity
sufficient to prevent normal
activity or physiologic function,
or to cause the onset of a
pathologic condition.
• hypothalamic obesity - obesity
caused by disease of the
hypothalamus.
• Dystrophia adiposogenitalis - a
disorder characterized
primarily by obesity and
hypogonadotrophic
hypogonadism in adolescent
(Fröhlich's syndrome)

Obesity Management
• Apatarpana (nourishment regulation)
• Chedana (liquefying adipose)
