The Importance Of Classroom Management
Classroom management must reflect the personality and teaching style of the individual teacher and is
a skill that must be learned, practiced, and evaluated, and modified to fit the changing situations in
classrooms. (Burden, 2017) For a teacher to find their model of discipline that works for them and
their students it begins with trial and error. Nothing starts off smoothly but through time a teacher can
find a wave of motion on what method of discipline would work for the flow of the classroom, the
attitude of the students, and the teacher s personality and comfort level.
Throughout time teachers can find that flow of establishing the appropriate dominance in the
classroom, other than being the adult. One of the methods for establishing the dominance of the
classroom is to have clear expectations for the preferred behavior in the classroom, the teacher needs
to set in stone the rules and procedures, and by providing consequences for the disruptive student
behavior. The class can establish the rules and procedures through, possibly, a class discussion and
everyone, the students and teacher, can be on mutual circumstances. Besides the clarity of the rules
and procedures, the teacher needs acknowledge the students behavior; having the ability to reinforce
between the acceptable behavior and the negative behavior and by respectfully putting out the
consequences for the unruly behavior.
Cooperation in the classroom will show the dominance and respect of both the students and teacher in
respect to the students needs and opinions of the world around them. Cooperation focuses on the class
to function as a team. Finding the respect of the class could start by providing flexible learning goals.
Giving students that respect by letting them set their own milestones at the beginning of the unit can
give everyone the sense of cooperation and sends out the message that the teacher cares.
A continuum showing a range of low to high teacher control can be used to illustrate the various
educational views, and the various discipline models can be placed on the continuum. A model of
discipline is a set of cohesive approaches to deal with establishing, maintaining, and restoring order in
the classroom that represent a

Manhood In Lady Macbeth
In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, the reader can identify many themes that
correspond to the actions of the play, but one them stands out the most and this them would be
masculine vs feminine.
The person who portrays this theme the most would have to be Lady Macbeth, though she is merely
the woman of the house, she takes charge in many situations of the play and questions Macbeth s
manhood along the way. When you durst do it, then you were a man;and to be more than what you
were, you would be so much more the man () in this quote we see lady Macbeth questioning Macbeth
s manhood, asking him what kind of man he is and telling him he would be more of a man if he would
kill king Duncan. There are instances throughout the play

Some of the highest amounts of rainfall in years was brought by a storm in Azusa, California. The
storm had brought up to eight inches on some mountains. That is not even close to enough of the
amount of rainfall California would need to pull out of this drought they have been in for years. Even
though the storm was strong and remained that way for a little longer than the weekend, the
forecasters said that a storm like this would need to be more frequent for California to get out of the
drought.
On February 28th, heavy showers hit California impacting the mountainsides that were scarred from
all the wildfires. Those mountainsides are above suburbs east of Los Angeles. The heavy showers
caused mud and debris to flow downward into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The county fire crew were working to protect the eight houses that were in danger of severe flooding
due to a levee failing in San Bernardino County. Throughout California, there were many traffic
accidents on the slick and flooded roads. One involved a death of the driver of a big rig that fell from
the freeway overpass just east of Los Angeles. Also, there were at least 32,000 homes with power
outages.
For the people in California that did not have to worry about the mudslides, the storm was good news.
Although, the storms swept through California back to back causing the cancelation of airplane
flights, creating threatening floods, and triggering landslides. In some areas, six inches of rain was
expected after the second storm went through. Still not enough to break California out of its in 434

rainfall that it is to be considered the largest rain event in the past three years. The police evacuated

Respect and Integrity in the Military Essay
Respect and integrity, what really do those mean? I could look up those words in the Oxford English
Dictionary or Websters, or Dictionary.com and give a scientific, perscise and exact answer to these
words. And while that tells you what they mean, does that really give their meaning. Well by
Dictionary.com s standards respect is a noun that means to hold in esteem or honor, and to show
regard or consideration for. And Dictionary.com says that integrity means an adherence to moral and
ethical principles; soundness of moral character, honesty, and the state of being whole, entire, or
undiminished as to morality. The Army on the other hand has their own, similar, but specific

The Army Value views respect as something that is just between people, yet at the same time it is also
something that is between offices. Each rank is expected to show a certain respect for the ranks above
them. In some units a private is expected respect a specialist, while both show respect for their
sergeants. This has less to do with the specific people then it does with their experience and respect
and of their peers and the people who are situated over them. As soldier we respect the ranks that are
above us because their peers and other higher Sergeants have seen something in them. Some form of
leadership, or the craftsmanship and mastery of their job that they have found some respect for them,
and decided that they deserve to be honored for it. These are people who have seen many soldiers, and
been in the Army long enough to recognize these traits in a person, and other people should respect
that. Not just because of the office they hold but because of their experience that led them to that
office. The Army has kind of got it right, in a way. They view respect as a way that we should act
towards each other and treat each other. But Respect is still so much more then that. You can not
respect just a person, or a rank, or a position, but also someones experience that has led them to where
they are. Its more about feelings

Traditional Marital Customs Still Play Essay
Introduction
Family has long been treated as the basic unit in Chinese society. Traditional marital customs still play
a pivotal role in people s common life, especially in their own marriage practices. The majority of
Chinese people follow the basic ancient marital principle: a man or woman should get married upon
coming of age. In contemporary Chinese society, when young people coming to the age of marriage,
parents, realities and other significant others usually push them to take their heterosexual boyfriend or
girlfriend back home (Lee, 2013). Their pressure has been exacerbated becasue most of the family
have only one kid due to the Chinese one child policy. Parents almost focus all their attention on the
success of career and marriage of their only child. British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) news had
reported that in order to release the pressure from families, some single young people are resorting to
renting fake boyfriends or girlfriends and come back to their home to appease their parents and
significant others on some important holidays (Hatton, 2013). Obviously, the homosexual individuals
suffered more pressures from family and society. Traditional cultural values exert much influence
upon young people s mentality and make them struggle between their sexual identities and
expectations from the outside environment. In particular, parental attitudes toward marriage and
participants endorsements of filial piety values (Hu Wang, 2013). In order to survive

MBA 563: Organizational Assessment and Intervention Case Study #2: Building the Cuyahoga River
Valley Organization Edie Druktenis March 28, 2013 This case focuses on the development of the
Cuyahoga River Valley Organization (CRVO) which is charged with caring out the Cuyahoga Valley
Initiative (CVI). The initiation of this organization began with an article in the Cleveland Plain Dealer
in 2000. The article discussed the history, natural beauty, and industry in the Cuyahoga Valley located
in northeastern Ohio. The valley is rich in natural resources and allows for access to land and water
transportation networks that helped it to be positioned as a center for many of America s early

Establishing a process to move from the current state of the organization, in this case, nonexistent, to a
newly formed structure would require the management of a transition. To do this a road map for the
establishment of the new organization would be created citing the specific activities and events that
had to occur. After the establishment of the road map, planning a method for commitment to the
organization s development would be done. Once the commitment is established, structures to manage
the change would need to be created. This would involve looking for people who have the power to
mobilize resources and promote change and of course, people who were willing to stay the course
during the rough times that often occur when change is happening. Staying the course would require
the CRVO to provide a system to support the change agents and influencers in the CVI community
helping them to develop new competencies and skills to generate support for the mission and reinforce
behaviors required to maintain the vision and mission of the CVI. Decision making during and after
the establishment of the CRVO would have to be more open and engaging than in most traditional
organizations. Since the CRVO is being established to assist with a vision of a much larger community
effort, decisions can t be made without the buy in and acceptance of the main stakeholders. The main

The Textile Industry During The Industrial Revolution
What were the inventions of the textile industry during the Industrial Revolution?
What was the Industrial Revolution? The Industrial Revolution was movement which began in 1760
and ended in 1840. The Industrial Revolution began in Great Britain and it slowly began to spread
throughout Europe and the Americas. It was a time period when manufacturing of goods and products
moved from small houses to large factories. Before the Industrial Revolution, goods were made
manually using hand tools and basic machines. During the Industrial Revolution automation had
started, manufacturers started investing in more effective machines that made goods and products
faster.
Why did it began In England? There are many reasons why the industrial revolution began in Britain.
First of all, the Agricultural Revolution in the 18th century resulted in increased food production and
population growth. Secondly, Britain also has financial innovations such as central banks and stock
markets which encouraged people to invest and trade more. Furthermore, Britain had large deposits of
coal and iron which was essential to the growth of all new machines made by iron or steel and
powered by coal. There were several other factors that made Britain the ideal place for the industrial
revolution. There were also many other industries such as the iron making industry, glass making
industry, mining industry but one of the most important one is the textile industry.

The author also raises the point that despite numerous charitable efforts towards Africa in the last five
decades, Africa has gone from poor to poorer. This gives the impression that social responsibility, as it
were, is not being done ethically. The author is also of the thought that a free market capitalism on its
own has done far much better in alleviating poverty in the developing world/countries if it is left to act
on its own without marketing forces and humanitarian groups working in counter parallelism.
The author is also of the thought that the two initiatives (that is, Product Red and Red Gap) are
deviating from their main mission of company profitability maximization which compromises
shareholder value, as these companies are now against the idea of capitalism which they view as
immoral and they hence believe a profit making end should be expiated by an occasional show of real
goodness (donating to charity).
Campaigns as Product Red according to the author, accommodate the belief that globalization is an
evil business practice, of which the author thinks to the contrary.
The author also highlights that it s not private companies prerogative to pursue charitable causes at the
expense of shareholder value maximization, as this is

Plain Language is Easy to Use, Read, and Understand the...
The results define Plain language it is easy to read, understand, and use the first time (
PlainLanguage.gov n.d.). President Obama signed the Plain Writing Act in 2010 that requires federal
agencies to use clear government communication that the public can understand and use (
PlainLanguage.gov ).. Regardless of federal mandates, the public is seeing the results and expecting
no less than clear writing from government ( PlainLanguage.gov ). This analysis of two government
documents will define plain language, determine whether the documents meet plain language
guidelines, and how the use of plain language impacts government accountability to citizens. Some of
the benefits of utilizing plain language include saving the government, the public and the customer
time and money, and it improves compliance with the requirements that the government imposes on
the public ( PlainLanguage.gov n.d.). Plain language means fewer calls from customers, less time for
users to solve a problem, higher compliance rates, and fewer customer errors ( PlainLanguage.gov ).
In addition to saving the government money, plain language helps improve the relationship between
the government and citizens by improving user satisfaction ( PlainLanguage.gov ). An example of the
benefits of plain language is in 2006, a team within the Arizona Department of Revenue started
rewriting 400 form letters into plain language, and reduced calls by 18,000, was able to process

Class Divisions In The Turn Of The Screw
In The Turn of the Screw, Henry James employs class divisions through clothing, representing how
the characters are inclined to act through their degree of conformity to societal expectations. First
published in 1898, by Collier s Weekly, a magazine company that had a reputation of reporting on
integral societal events and topics people considered important to their lives, the magazine
commissioned the help of famous writers to write on pressing historical events of the time (Elduff). It
grew to be one of the most widely read magazines in the United States by 1892, which allowed James
to write a novella that hit on concerns regarding social mobility on a larger scale platform. Since the
Victorian era was marked by prosperity and innovations in technology, incomes rose leading to the
growing of the middle class. This had a drastic impact on the culture and the elites who feared the
middle class movement for they had many reasons for resenting their practical stigmatization as
second class citizens (Best 238). James highlights this concern through pointing out clothing which
denotes which class a characters associated with and coupling this with immoral actions of the times.
Since many people were jostling to get into upper society, certain rules regarding etiquette and dress ...

Evaluation Of Alfred Hitchcock, Dial
Evaluation of Alfred Hitchcock, Dial M for Murder.
Validity as an auteur can be found belief that true auteurs set the standard and change the way we view
film. More so, an auteur has the incredible responsibility of changing the way we look at the world
and that is their greatest goal.
Alfred Hitchcock is a director and artist in his own right as he needs little introduction to most
moviegoers. His work as a creative entrepreneur during his time in the budding age of film has created
a series of classics that continue to define a standard in crime, thriller and suspense cinema. As many
early critics of film were skeptic of their authenticity as an art form, Hitchcock proceeded to build
upon the groundwork set before him by exploring methods with which lured the audience into
emotional involvement in film. Over time, his mastered technique often reflected in his plot
developments as he proceeded to sway the interest, attention and opinion of his audience to his liking.
Such manipulations would cause the audience to bend the rules of conventional morality. Such
technique had been previously unparalleled and proceeds to be the standard of good film making
today. Even in his early films such as The Man Who Knew Too Much, Hitchcock s ability to evoke
and conflict emotional attachments in his audience was quite apparent as it was not uncommon for a
quintessential bad guy in his film to transition into a protagonist simply based on plot and character
development as you cannot

The Death Penalty During The United States Essay
The death penalty in the United States can be traced all the way to early American history when it was
under the colonial rule of Britain. Though in early history the death penalty was used for even menial
crimes such as burglary, capital punishment in the United States is currently used for only the most
heinous crimes, such as first degree murder, rape, treason, or espionage. Because the nation was
unified under similar Christian beliefs, there was no question of how death could be the worst
punishment for the worst crimes. However, through diversified religions and a growing sensitivity to
criminal rights, the death penalty is increasingly under more scrutiny in regards to the 8th amendment,
which bans the implementation of cruel and unusual punishments. In Furman v. Georgia, three
inmates challenged the legality of their sentences, bringing light to the questionable relationship
between capital punishment and the Eighth Amendment. In order to appease this realization that the
death penalty was too gruesome, many states have changed their execution methods from hangings
and electrocution to lethal injections that create a more seemingly peaceful death. In fact, death
penalty opponents often argue against the use of lethal injections on the grounds that this method
makes executions more palatable to the public by creating the appearance that the inmate is simply
being put to sleep (Radelet, Borg 54). However, though lethal injections are far less violent compared

Tenets Of Democracy In Zapatista
Democratic Theory In 1993 The Revolutionary Woman s Law was adopted into the Zapatistas
movement, this law challenged the norms and traditions of a patriarchy society (Basu 2010, 323). The
women collectively wrote the law based on their shared experiences. The women s request were that
they had the right to choose who to marry, when to marry, whether they would have children, and how
many, and how they would participate in society. This new law legitimized women as equals with
men. Rosalva Castillo states that, The emergence of an indigenous women s movement with gender
demands is also the result of the Zapatista movement (Basu 2010, 322). This was the beginning of a
new democratic emergence political identity for women. What is democracy? Political scientists argue
that there are three major tenets of a democratic government: popular sovereignty, equality, and

Aviation Company Karl Rapp
Initially starting as an aviation company set up by Karl Rapp which was established in 1913 was the
basis at which BMW began their long and illustrious tenor at the top of the luxury brand Automotive
industry. Although struggling initially due to poor engine designs which suffered from severe vibration
problems the company knows as Rapp Motorenwerke barely remained in business solely due to the
Austro Daimler being unable to keep up with the high demand of the V12 aircraft engines required by
the Austrian military. It was this inability to meet their demands that resulted in the decision for the
engines to be produced at Rapp Motorenwerke allowing them to remain in business. Franz Josef Popp
who was the lead supervising engineering at Austro Daimler was sent to Munich to supervise the
engine quality. Popp went on to become actively involved in the running of the company and was
behind the hiring of Max Friz who was a young and talented aircraft engineer. It would be the hiring
of Friz that would change the course of the company. Within a few weeks of his hiring Max Friz had
designed a new aero engine far superior to any other German aero engine currently being produced.
Following the departure of Rapp the company took on a large restructuring and BMW was first
established as a business entity in 1917. Large orders were being received for the BMW IIIa engine

The Positive Impact Of The Reformation In The 16th Century
The Reformation during the 16th century was something that had always been thought of and what is
expected that had a positive impact on many people. Reformers that were in the medieval church like
St. Francis of Assisi, Valdes, Jan Hus, and John Wycliff had thought about the aspects of the church
and throughout life before 1517. During the 16th century, figures such as Erasmus of Rotterdam who
was the chief proponent of liberal Catholic reform, had an ongoing concern before Luther told his
Ninety Five Theses. From Martin Luther the aspect of the beginning of the section is very intriguing,
offering how the impact had caused a positive change: Luther having experienced this new conviction,
it is not surprising that the extravagant claims surrounding the sale of indulgences in 1517 provoked
him to the public. The form and text of that protest became known as the 95 Theses . ( Martin Luther
427). From his objection to the claim, the pope had then relieved the sins of Luther and the Catholic
church. The Reformation was a major change in the Catholic church due to the change of how people
bettered themselves. Luther was unhappy that the Catholic church offered an indulgence for pay, such
as, As for myself, let me say that I, too, am a doctor and a preacher yes, and as learned and
experienced as any of those who act so high and mighty ( Martin Luther 428). By following the
sacraments, many were able to better their relationship with Jesus. Shall we frivolously despise this
might, blessing, power, and fruit especially we who would be pastors and preachers? ( Martin Luther
429). Martin Luther is expressing with powers and questioning what one should do with pastors and
preachers and how one can better that problem to come up with a solution. The following quote sticks
out due to the fact that the quote is setting guidelines to how many should go about living their life,
Sixteenth Rule. In the same way, we must be on our guard that by talking much and with much
insistence of faith, without any distinction and explanation occasion be not given to the people to be

What Is The Purpose Of The Narrative Once Upon A Time
Humans tell stories to themselves and others as a means of making sense of their world and as a way
to promote learning and spread information, or to simply entertain themselves. Completed stories
show evidence of two main parts: an underlying structure
(how the story is organized) that contains the story s intrinsic meaning and, then, there is a lesser
meaning, which is the way the story s structure is presented in the words and symbols, including
metaphors. Although the events that compose a story (plot) may not happen in a sequential order, it is
important for people or a culture to create a story in such a way that it will construct their reality and
give meaning to their subjective experience. Thus, The Narrative ... Show more content on

Why Dido s family never led her have dinner with them when they have visit? Are they ashamed of

Comment on the significance of the paintings in the film.
I believed that the significance of the paintings in the movie is to show African Americans as inferior
than white people since in the majority of the paintings white people were at the top and it show
African American below them. In a scene in the movie Dido doesn t want to be painted in the same
painting with her cousin because she does not want to be shown as inferior, but at the end when she

When James Ashford saw Dido for the first time he was in shock to see her because she is not white as

s engagement with James brother.
Explain the emotions behind the hair brushing sequence.
I think the emotional behind the scene where Dido was brushing her hair and her maid offer to help. It
shows the struggles Dido experienced from being from a different race than her family because
Elizabeth her cousin does not experience the same problems. I believed she identified herself with her

Potential Therapeutics For Treating Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Bromophenols have been identified as potential therapeutics for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus
(T2DM) due to their suspected tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) inhibitory activity. A new series of
bromophenol analogues will be synthesised and their PTP1B inhibitory activity will be tested in in
vitro enzymatic assays to elucidate their mechanism of action as PTP1B inhibitors.
Background and Introduction
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic disease that is caused by insulin resistance of the
peripheral tissues and impaired insulin secretion of the pancreatic β cells.1 Both conditions result in
reduced glycemic control, which can lead to hyperglycemia. Despite the availability of a wide range
of anti diabetic drugs to treat T2DM, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bromophenols have attracted much attention as potential PTP1B inhibitors due to their suspected anti
diabetic activity.4 Bromophenols occur naturally in marine organisms such as algae, mollusks and
jellyfish. (±) Polysiphenol (1, figure 1) is an example of a bromophenol that can be extracted from the
marine algae Polisiphonia Ferulecea.5 After the Braddock group successfully achieved the first total
synthesis of (±) polysiphenol and the separation of its enantiomers, they collaborated with the
Woscholski group to test their inhibitory activity in PTP1B enzymatic assays.6,7 Both enantiomers of
polysiphenol were essentially found to be identical in PTP1B inhibitory activity. Thus polysiphenol, as
single enantiomers, cannot be responsible for the observed inhibition. This implicates a chemical
change of polysiphenol into a non chiral form is likely to take place under the conditions of the assay.
One possibility is the formation of a para quinone methide species (4, figure 1), which in turn can
tautomerise into an ortho quinone methide species (5, figure 1). Thus there are various possible
reactive species that might be responsible for the observed inhibition of PTP1B. The formation of
quinones highlights a red flag in drug discovery due to their highly reactive nature. Quinones are
Michael acceptors that are known to cause toxicity in vivo by covalently binding to nucleophilic sites
on proteins and DNA.8 Consequently, quinones

Next to of Course God America I by E.E. Cummings Essay
Next to of Course God America I by E.E. Cummings
e. e. cummings poem, next to of course god america i, is a wonderful example of stylistic variation in
a text. Once again, we see his skill and mastery at manipulating the English language in order to
foreground a thought and turn it into a commentary on society. As with all of cummings works, there
is evidence of a multitude of variances and deviances at work, however, I shall concentrate on the area
of language variance, more specifically, domain.
Language variation and the area of domain, subject matter and function, are the easiest kinds of
variation to see within a text. Subject matter involves the use of lexical fields, that is to say, a grouping
of words, belonging to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, by jingo by gee by gosh by gum gives the impression that this speaker has not put any
thought into the words he speaks.
The last line of the poem shows the speaker drinking a glass of water rapidly. Why did cummings
choose to invert this line? Why does the speaker drink at all? cummings could be mentioning this
detail in an effort to portray just how irrelevant this speech really is. The adverb rapidly occurs in a
most unlikely position in this thought. If we eliminate the need for rhyming water with slaughter, since
the necessary rhyme for this poem might well have been achieved without inverting the syntax, then
cummings must have had some other reason for the inversion of the syntax. Could it be that by writing
a poem, which expresses a theme of inverted or confused philosophy, cummings inverts his apparently
objective commentary on the situation and the words in which he reports his commentary to produce
an ironic tone? This line, then, further serves to point to the inverted philosophy of this speaker and
foregrounds the insincerity and thoughtlessness behind this speech.
In this poem, carefully worked out in sonnet form, cummings pillories a Fourth of July speechmaker
by choosing patriotic and religious clichés common to platform oratory and compressing fragments of
them together in order to demonstrate the meaningless emptiness that the speakers

Parachute Evaluation
Introduction
What was the attention getter? In the beginning, the speaker captured the audiences attention by
simply asking them to make a realization of time. The speaker asked them to take a pause of 10
seconds; she also stated, you are never more alive than when you are close to death.
What was the relevance to the audience? The speaker connected her topic and her audience by asking
them to take 10 seconds to pause; those 10 seconds are all shared by everyone in the room and her
topic could possibly apply to them as well.
What was the central idea? The speaker s experience with the failed parachute that made her realize
the importance of life.

How did the speaker reinforce the central ideas? The speaker tells the audience what she did when the
parachute failed on her, such as cutting the parachute and deploying the reserve instead. Including the
realization that she had the ability and strength to overcome that obstacle, and to appreciate life
because anything that terrifying can happen to

Railroads In The United States
Here, in the United States, finance can be broken up into many sections. In the late 1800 s and early
1900 s these sections included Railroad, Public Utility, and Industrial Finance. The United States had
started a revolution of innovation in this ti,e period with the emergence of railroads. As the industry
grew, companies started seeing the possibility of railroads spreading from coast to coast rather than
local transportation. Railroads relatively small demand for capital was met without bond issues and
did not require the integration of the local secutires markets. (18) They found that a more broad
security market was in their favor in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). In 1887, the Interstae

Aethelflaed King Alfred The Great
Blood and screams; the heart of the battlefield. The streets are running with blood, blood of the foolish
Vikings who thought they could attack the city of Chester. Who was the mastermind behind this
strategic victory? Some may not know who she was, but her name was Aethelflaed, Lady of the
Mercians. She was the daughter of King Alfred the Great and sister to King Edward the Elder. Born in
about 869 and married at 16 years to secure an alliance to the Wessex Kingdom, she rose to a
magnanimous position of power. She fought back the foreign invaders with her husband and later, her
brother. Aethelflaed defended her people by building fortifications, conquering opposing armies, and
creating alliances with other nations; she deserves to be remembered. Sequentially after driving back
foreign invaders, she would order the building of burhs, much like her father had. In 907, she and her

The Dark Knight Film Analysis
Burning. Massive flames. A dark shape emerges. Growing. Filling the space with blackness. Blinding
light, moving over the towers of a city. The light closes in on the buildings, consuming them,
consuming you. Can t escape, can t breathe, completely overwhelmed. When suddenly you hear CUT!

willingness to suspend one s critical facilities and believe the unbelievable. This disbelief is not in
used in film but in art as well. The scene described above is from a piece called London s Burning by
Chris Sheldrake, but you would also see some of the same aesthetics in the opening title sequence of
The Dark Knight. All art forms feed of each other and by using three movies and their corresponding
pieces of art, I will illustrate the influence that each of these individual images had on their respective
films. How art inspires cinema.
The Dark Knight was the second entry in The Dark Knight Trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan. He

Sully Film Analysis
When Warner Bros. released Sully earlier this year, I thought it looked decent. I assumed Tom Hanks
would give a reliably good performance as the titular pilot. I guessed Clint Eastwood would tell the
story effectively. I even speculated that the film might garner some attention from the Oscars. While I
cannot yet speak to that less assumption, my other feelings about Sully proved true.
This film, billed as the untold story behind the miracle on the Hudson, stars Hanks as Captain Chesley
Sully Sullenberger, the pilot who landed his aircraft on the Hudson river after a freak accident in 2009.
Rather than simply telling the story leading up to the forced water landing, however, the picture
chronicles the tumultuous aftermath of what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I specifically think of the passengers calling their loved ones, finding their fellow passengers alive
after the landing and thanking Sully as moments that made me choke up a little. Another highlight is
the simple reaction shots that Eastwood shows us of businesspeople in the skyscrapers as they see a
plane hurtling toward the city. That was as a simple and understated way to underscore the heroism of
Sully s action by making us visualize the alternative.
With all that being said, the storytelling here wasn t flawless. Sully takes a somewhat unconventional
approach by showing the aftermath of the crash and focusing on the investigation, but for the most
part the film felt safe and predictable. Every plot beat and character action, even the effective ones,
felt generic and familiar, but in a bad way. I m not sure what I would have wanted the filmmakers to
do instead, but they should have done something to switch things up a little.
Nevertheless, Sully is still a very good movie. Hanks is quite good and Eckhart does well in his role.
The story is economical and moving, even if a little too safe. Sully probably isn t going to be most
people s favorite movie of the year, but it has earned a spot on top 10 lists for 2016, even if it s in the

My Journey To Physical Therapy. Physical Therapy Is A Growing
My Journey to Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a growing profession in the healthcare field. There is a continuous flow of patients
who need assistance with recovery and the motivation to finish the task. As with any healthcare
profession, physical therapy can be very demanding. Therapists can successfully meet those demands
by creating a positive environment, continuously learning and educating others. In addition to
possessing these characteristics, my interest in physical therapy comes from my experiences as a
collegiate athlete and employee of a therapy clinic/gym.
Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants work one on one with patients to reach common
short term and long term goals. During this time, it is important ... Show more content on

This was continually a learning curve for me as I was presented with new and exciting challenges
every day. These experiences have increased my knowledge and my ability to adapt to changing
situations throughout my life and will be an asset in becoming a physical therapist assistant.
In addition, a successful therapist is able to educate individuals through recovery by using different
methods suitable for each patient. Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants are educators in
the field of therapy and it is their job to make the recovery process as smooth and as enjoyable as
possible. We know that all patients are not the same. So, this means that all patients will not process
information in the same way. As a recipient of a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, I have
learned that individuals learn through four basic learning styles (visual, auditory, reading/writing, and
kinesthetic). It is obvious that visual and kinesthetic senses are used during physical therapy but, at
times, individuals need a different approach. Through my teaching and coaching experiences, I have
had opportunities to demonstrate how to perform skills or tasks to reach all types of learning styles.
This is extremely important for proper education through the rehabilitation process. Being able to
explain what I am doing and why I am doing it in ways that patients can understand or relate to will be
vital to their success and well being after

Introduction The purpose of this paper is to analyze the Walt Disney Company and their expansion

founded in 1923 by Walt Disney. It was a company founded upon as an entertainment experience for
people of all ages starting out with short films and then moving into full length motion pictures. Since
its inception the Disney Company has grown into a worldwide organization and is made up of four
major areas. Those areas are studio entertainment, consumer products, media networks, and parks and
resorts. As of 2005 only two of these four areas were profitable, those being media networks and parks
and resorts. Up until the opening of HKD, Disney had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea was no different with the establishment of HKD. Aside from this worldwide perception that
Disney has HKD sought to bring visitors for other reasons as well. One of the main strategies was to
offer this experience at a very affordable rate. The price for a one day was $295 in Hong Kong which
is equivalent to $38 in the United States. Along with these low rates there were also many special
offers that were constantly available to visitors. These offers included special rates for certain
occasions, discounted rates for children and senior citizens and the ability to purchase packages
through travel agencies. In fact HKD encouraged the purchase of tickets through travel agents and on
their website. They limited the number tickets that were able to be bought by walk up visitors to keep
the wait to enter the park at a minimum. Another corporate strategy was the emphasis that Disney put
on their employees or cast member as they refer to them as. Every employee that was hired was sent
to the Walt Disney Park in Orlando for training to get accustomed to the expectations of a Walt Disney
employee. Along with this extensive training each employee was required to speak multiple languages
in order to cater to all guests that may be visiting the park. With that being said the corporate strategy
for Disney, and specifically that of HKD, does

Examples Of African-American Masculinity
At the present time, there seems to be a blurred line between ideal and practiced masculinities. Across
different cultures and even ethnicities, the definitions of masculinity tend to differ, hence the plurality
of masculinity. For example, the stereotype of the Latino male centers on machismo , the display of
strong and aggressive masculinity (Masculinities 1: Ethnic Identities and Men s Ways of Being),
whereas African American s masculinities developed a masculine gender identity known as the cool
pose, which enhanced their social competence, pride, dignity, self esteem, and respect (Masculinities

both of these expressions of masculinity, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

color, and pH was measured using pH paper. Fresh milk smelled like milk, had a white color, and a pH
of 7. 24 hour old milk had a very slight sour smell to it, was still white colored with a pH of 7. Four
day old milk had a sour smell, was white with visible chunks, and had a pH of 6. Lastly, four day old
milk smelled like sour cream, was yellow colored with white chunks, and had a pH of 5. Once the
characteristics of the milk were noted we began to prepare the agar plates for the different milk
samples. For cold milk, one agar plate was labeled undiluted, and one plate was labeled 10 1 . 0.5 ml
of milk was pipette onto the plate labeled undiluted. 0.1 ml of milk was then pipette onto the plate

The Mill On The Floss
In George Eliot s The Mill on the Floss, one of the long, resounding themes of the novel is the nature
of love and how it changes people over time. While a loving nature is generally regarded as a noble if
not redeemable trait in literary characters, especially in Victorian literature where the idea of marrying
for love was gaining popularity, protagonist Maggie Tulliver subverted that idea. It was because of
Maggie s all consuming familial love for her brother Tom, platonic love for Philip, and romantic love
for Stephen that directly caused her ultimate downfall and death.
At the heart of the novel, Maggie s relationship with her older brother Tom was without a doubt the
most important in her life. The two were incredibly close as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To be fair, Tom was a child who had just found out his pets were killed, so it s understandable that he
would be angry and lash out. However, this was the first of many times throughout the novel that
Maggie displease Tom in some way, be swiftly and harshly punished for it, and return to Tom
wholeheartedly whenever it suited him to apologize.
The next time that the two siblings fought was the infamous pastry debacle, in which Tom had stolen
two pastries for them to share and let Maggie decide who would get the bigger one. Maggie insisted
that he take the bigger pastry, but Tom countered by telling her it was alright for her to take it. He then
seethed in anger as they ate together when she did indeed take the prefered pastry and he called her
greedy. Tom s motivations for doing this are never made entirely clear. Was it a trick question? Was he
testing Maggie to see if she would still put him first even when he said not to? But that was the trick,
that she thought she was being respectful and putting Tom first by taking his permission to accept the
larger pastry for herself. Maggie could never seem to win with Tom because of his strange logic and
sense of justice, and their strained relationship finally boiled over in childhood when she ran away to
live with gypsies anything to not have to deal with Tom s disappointingly on again, off again

  • 2. The Importance Of Classroom Management Classroom management must reflect the personality and teaching style of the individual teacher and is a skill that must be learned, practiced, and evaluated, and modified to fit the changing situations in classrooms. (Burden, 2017) For a teacher to find their model of discipline that works for them and their students it begins with trial and error. Nothing starts off smoothly but through time a teacher can find a wave of motion on what method of discipline would work for the flow of the classroom, the attitude of the students, and the teacher s personality and comfort level. Throughout time teachers can find that flow of establishing the appropriate dominance in the classroom, other than being the adult. One of the methods for establishing the dominance of the classroom is to have clear expectations for the preferred behavior in the classroom, the teacher needs to set in stone the rules and procedures, and by providing consequences for the disruptive student behavior. The class can establish the rules and procedures through, possibly, a class discussion and everyone, the students and teacher, can be on mutual circumstances. Besides the clarity of the rules and procedures, the teacher needs acknowledge the students behavior; having the ability to reinforce between the acceptable behavior and the negative behavior and by respectfully putting out the consequences for the unruly behavior. Cooperation in the classroom will show the dominance and respect of both the students and teacher in respect to the students needs and opinions of the world around them. Cooperation focuses on the class to function as a team. Finding the respect of the class could start by providing flexible learning goals. Giving students that respect by letting them set their own milestones at the beginning of the unit can give everyone the sense of cooperation and sends out the message that the teacher cares. A continuum showing a range of low to high teacher control can be used to illustrate the various educational views, and the various discipline models can be placed on the continuum. A model of discipline is a set of cohesive approaches to deal with establishing, maintaining, and restoring order in the classroom that represent a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Manhood In Lady Macbeth In the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, the reader can identify many themes that correspond to the actions of the play, but one them stands out the most and this them would be masculine vs feminine. The person who portrays this theme the most would have to be Lady Macbeth, though she is merely the woman of the house, she takes charge in many situations of the play and questions Macbeth s manhood along the way. When you durst do it, then you were a man;and to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man () in this quote we see lady Macbeth questioning Macbeth s manhood, asking him what kind of man he is and telling him he would be more of a man if he would kill king Duncan. The storm had brought up to eight inches on some mountains. That is not even close to enough of the amount of rainfall California would need to pull out of this drought they have been in for years. Even though the storm was strong and remained that way for a little longer than the weekend, the forecasters said that a storm like this would need to be more frequent for California to get out of the drought. On February 28th, heavy showers hit California impacting the mountainsides that were scarred from all the wildfires. Those mountainsides are above suburbs east of Los Angeles. Also, there were at least 32,000 homes with power outages. For the people in California that did not have to worry about the mudslides, the storm was good news. • 5. Respect and Integrity in the Military Essay Respect and integrity, what really do those mean? I could look up those words in the Oxford English Dictionary or Websters, or Dictionary.com and give a scientific, perscise and exact answer to these words. And while that tells you what they mean, does that really give their meaning. Well by Dictionary.com s standards respect is a noun that means to hold in esteem or honor, and to show regard or consideration for. And Dictionary.com says that integrity means an adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character, honesty, and the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished as to morality. The Army Value views respect as something that is just between people, yet at the same time it is also something that is between offices. Each rank is expected to show a certain respect for the ranks above them. In some units a private is expected respect a specialist, while both show respect for their sergeants. This has less to do with the specific people then it does with their experience and respect and of their peers and the people who are situated over them. As soldier we respect the ranks that are above us because their peers and other higher Sergeants have seen something in them. Some form of leadership, or the craftsmanship and mastery of their job that they have found some respect for them, and decided that they deserve to be honored for it. These are people who have seen many soldiers, and been in the Army long enough to recognize these traits in a person, and other people should respect that. Not just because of the office they hold but because of their experience that led them to that office. The Army has kind of got it right, in a way. They view respect as a way that we should act towards each other and treat each other. But Respect is still so much more then that. You can not respect just a person, or a rank, or a position, but also someones experience that has led them to where they are. Its more about feelings ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Traditional Marital Customs Still Play Essay Introduction Family has long been treated as the basic unit in Chinese society. Traditional marital customs still play a pivotal role in people s common life, especially in their own marriage practices. The majority of Chinese people follow the basic ancient marital principle: a man or woman should get married upon coming of age. In contemporary Chinese society, when young people coming to the age of marriage, parents, realities and other significant others usually push them to take their heterosexual boyfriend or girlfriend back home (Lee, 2013). Their pressure has been exacerbated becasue most of the family have only one kid due to the Chinese one child policy. Parents almost focus all their attention on the success of career and marriage of their only child. British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) news had reported that in order to release the pressure from families, some single young people are resorting to renting fake boyfriends or girlfriends and come back to their home to appease their parents and significant others on some important holidays (Hatton, 2013). Obviously, the homosexual individuals suffered more pressures from family and society. Traditional cultural values exert much influence upon young people s mentality and make them struggle between their sexual identities and expectations from the outside environment. In particular, parental attitudes toward marriage and participants endorsements of filial piety values (Hu Wang, 2013). In order to survive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Establishing a process to move from the current state of the organization, in this case, nonexistent, to a newly formed structure would require the management of a transition. To do this a road map for the establishment of the new organization would be created citing the specific activities and events that had to occur. After the establishment of the road map, planning a method for commitment to the organization s development would be done. Once the commitment is established, structures to manage the change would need to be created. This would involve looking for people who have the power to mobilize resources and promote change and of course, people who were willing to stay the course during the rough times that often occur when change is happening. Staying the course would require the CRVO to provide a system to support the change agents and influencers in the CVI community helping them to develop new competencies and skills to generate support for the mission and reinforce behaviors required to maintain the vision and mission of the CVI. Decision making during and after the establishment of the CRVO would have to be more open and engaging than in most traditional organizations. Since the CRVO is being established to assist with a vision of a much larger community effort, decisions can t be made without the buy in and acceptance of the main stakeholders. The main ... The author is also of the thought that the two initiatives (that is, Product Red and Red Gap) are deviating from their main mission of company profitability maximization which compromises shareholder value, as these companies are now against the idea of capitalism which they view as immoral and they hence believe a profit making end should be expiated by an occasional show of real goodness (donating to charity). • 13. Class Divisions In The Turn Of The Screw In The Turn of the Screw, Henry James employs class divisions through clothing, representing how the characters are inclined to act through their degree of conformity to societal expectations. First published in 1898, by Collier s Weekly, a magazine company that had a reputation of reporting on integral societal events and topics people considered important to their lives, the magazine commissioned the help of famous writers to write on pressing historical events of the time (Elduff). It grew to be one of the most widely read magazines in the United States by 1892, which allowed James to write a novella that hit on concerns regarding social mobility on a larger scale platform. Since the Victorian era was marked by prosperity and innovations in technology, incomes rose leading to the growing of the middle class. This had a drastic impact on the culture and the elites who feared the middle class movement for they had many reasons for resenting their practical stigmatization as second class citizens (Best 238). • 14. Evaluation Of Alfred Hitchcock, Dial Evaluation of Alfred Hitchcock, Dial M for Murder. Validity as an auteur can be found belief that true auteurs set the standard and change the way we view film. More so, an auteur has the incredible responsibility of changing the way we look at the world and that is their greatest goal. Alfred Hitchcock is a director and artist in his own right as he needs little introduction to most moviegoers. His work as a creative entrepreneur during his time in the budding age of film has created a series of classics that continue to define a standard in crime, thriller and suspense cinema. As many early critics of film were skeptic of their authenticity as an art form, Hitchcock proceeded to build upon the groundwork set before him by exploring methods with which lured the audience into emotional involvement in film. Over time, his mastered technique often reflected in his plot developments as he proceeded to sway the interest, attention and opinion of his audience to his liking. Such manipulations would cause the audience to bend the rules of conventional morality. Such technique had been previously unparalleled and proceeds to be the standard of good film making today. Even in his early films such as The Man Who Knew Too Much, Hitchcock s ability to evoke and conflict emotional attachments in his audience was quite apparent as it was not uncommon for a quintessential bad guy in his film to transition into a protagonist simply based on plot and character development as you cannot ... • 15. The Death Penalty During The United States Essay The death penalty in the United States can be traced all the way to early American history when it was under the colonial rule of Britain. Though in early history the death penalty was used for even menial crimes such as burglary, capital punishment in the United States is currently used for only the most heinous crimes, such as first degree murder, rape, treason, or espionage. Because the nation was unified under similar Christian beliefs, there was no question of how death could be the worst punishment for the worst crimes. However, through diversified religions and a growing sensitivity to criminal rights, the death penalty is increasingly under more scrutiny in regards to the 8th amendment, which bans the implementation of cruel and unusual punishments. In Furman v. Georgia, three inmates challenged the legality of their sentences, bringing light to the questionable relationship between capital punishment and the Eighth Amendment. In order to appease this realization that the death penalty was too gruesome, many states have changed their execution methods from hangings and electrocution to lethal injections that create a more seemingly peaceful death. In fact, death penalty opponents often argue against the use of lethal injections on the grounds that this method makes executions more palatable to the public by creating the appearance that the inmate is simply being put to sleep (Radelet, Borg 54). However, though lethal injections are far less violent compared to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tenets Of Democracy In Zapatista Democratic Theory In 1993 The Revolutionary Woman s Law was adopted into the Zapatistas movement, this law challenged the norms and traditions of a patriarchy society (Basu 2010, 323). The women collectively wrote the law based on their shared experiences. The women s request were that they had the right to choose who to marry, when to marry, whether they would have children, and how many, and how they would participate in society. This new law legitimized women as equals with men. Rosalva Castillo states that, The emergence of an indigenous women s movement with gender demands is also the result of the Zapatista movement (Basu 2010, 322). This was the beginning of a new democratic emergence political identity for women. What is democracy? Although struggling initially due to poor engine designs which suffered from severe vibration problems the company knows as Rapp Motorenwerke barely remained in business solely due to the Austro Daimler being unable to keep up with the high demand of the V12 aircraft engines required by the Austrian military. It was this inability to meet their demands that resulted in the decision for the engines to be produced at Rapp Motorenwerke allowing them to remain in business. Franz Josef Popp who was the lead supervising engineering at Austro Daimler was sent to Munich to supervise the engine quality. Popp went on to become actively involved in the running of the company and was behind the hiring of Max Friz who was a young and talented aircraft engineer. It would be the hiring of Friz that would change the course of the company. Within a few weeks of his hiring Max Friz had designed a new aero engine far superior to any other German aero engine currently being produced. • 18. The Positive Impact Of The Reformation In The 16th Century The Reformation during the 16th century was something that had always been thought of and what is expected that had a positive impact on many people. Reformers that were in the medieval church like St. Francis of Assisi, Valdes, Jan Hus, and John Wycliff had thought about the aspects of the church and throughout life before 1517. During the 16th century, figures such as Erasmus of Rotterdam who was the chief proponent of liberal Catholic reform, had an ongoing concern before Luther told his Ninety Five Theses. From Martin Luther the aspect of the beginning of the section is very intriguing, offering how the impact had caused a positive change: Luther having experienced this new conviction, it is not surprising that the extravagant claims surrounding the sale of indulgences in 1517 provoked him to the public. The form and text of that protest became known as the 95 Theses . ( Martin Luther 427). From his objection to the claim, the pope had then relieved the sins of Luther and the Catholic church. The Reformation was a major change in the Catholic church due to the change of how people bettered themselves. Luther was unhappy that the Catholic church offered an indulgence for pay, such as, As for myself, let me say that I, too, am a doctor and a preacher yes, and as learned and experienced as any of those who act so high and mighty ( Martin Luther 428). By following the sacraments, many were able to better their relationship with Jesus. Shall we frivolously despise this might, blessing, power, and fruit especially we who would be pastors and preachers? ( Martin Luther 429). Martin Luther is expressing with powers and questioning what one should do with pastors and preachers and how one can better that problem to come up with a solution. The following quote sticks out due to the fact that the quote is setting guidelines to how many should go about living their life, Sixteenth Rule. In the same way, we must be on our guard that by talking much and with much insistence of faith, without any distinction and explanation occasion be not given to the people to be lazy and slothful in works, whether before faith is formed in charity or after ( Saint Ignatius of Loyola 446). What Is The Purpose Of The Narrative Once Upon A Time Humans tell stories to themselves and others as a means of making sense of their world and as a way to promote learning and spread information, or to simply entertain themselves. Completed stories show evidence of two main parts: an underlying structure (how the story is organized) that contains the story s intrinsic meaning and, then, there is a lesser meaning, which is the way the story s structure is presented in the words and symbols, including metaphors. Although the events that compose a story (plot) may not happen in a sequential order, it is important for people or a culture to create a story in such a way that it will construct their reality and give meaning to their subjective experience. A new series of bromophenol analogues will be synthesised and their PTP1B inhibitory activity will be tested in in vitro enzymatic assays to elucidate their mechanism of action as PTP1B inhibitors. Background and Introduction Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a metabolic disease that is caused by insulin resistance of the peripheral tissues and impaired insulin secretion of the pancreatic β cells.1 Both conditions result in reduced glycemic control, which can lead to hyperglycemia. Bromophenols have attracted much attention as potential PTP1B inhibitors due to their suspected anti diabetic activity.4 Bromophenols occur naturally in marine organisms such as algae, mollusks and jellyfish. (±) Polysiphenol (1, figure 1) is an example of a bromophenol that can be extracted from the marine algae Polisiphonia Ferulecea.5 After the Braddock group successfully achieved the first total synthesis of (±) polysiphenol and the separation of its enantiomers, they collaborated with the Woscholski group to test their inhibitory activity in PTP1B enzymatic assays.6,7 Both enantiomers of polysiphenol were essentially found to be identical in PTP1B inhibitory activity. Thus polysiphenol, as single enantiomers, cannot be responsible for the observed inhibition. This implicates a chemical change of polysiphenol into a non chiral form is likely to take place under the conditions of the assay. One possibility is the formation of a para quinone methide species (4, figure 1), which in turn can tautomerise into an ortho quinone methide species (5, figure 1). Thus there are various possible reactive species that might be responsible for the observed inhibition of PTP1B. The formation of quinones highlights a red flag in drug discovery due to their highly reactive nature. The last line of the poem shows the speaker drinking a glass of water rapidly. Why did cummings choose to invert this line? Why does the speaker drink at all? cummings could be mentioning this detail in an effort to portray just how irrelevant this speech really is. The adverb rapidly occurs in a most unlikely position in this thought. If we eliminate the need for rhyming water with slaughter, since the necessary rhyme for this poem might well have been achieved without inverting the syntax, then cummings must have had some other reason for the inversion of the syntax. Could it be that by writing a poem, which expresses a theme of inverted or confused philosophy, cummings inverts his apparently objective commentary on the situation and the words in which he reports his commentary to produce an ironic tone? This line, then, further serves to point to the inverted philosophy of this speaker and foregrounds the insincerity and thoughtlessness behind this speech.
