The Equal Protection Clause Of The United States Constitution
Introduction The Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution
sanctioned all 50 States to protect all citizens, by requiring that all citizens are treated according to
the Bill of Rights, by protecting the inalienable rights of all its citizens (Fisher, 2013, pg. 3).
Although, the inalienable rightsof men are projected differently, both from a Biblical perspective
and a Constitution, Declaration, there are or will be several morals violations among citizens that
must be addressed. Particularly, in this case on Religious Discriminationand Racial Harassment in
the Workforce.
Specific Issues Maalick Encountered in the Workplace Specific issues Marshawn DeMur
encountered in his workplace are the company code of ethics violation, hostility in the workplace,
racial harassment and or religious discrimination, safety violations, and misconduct. Most of these
are Human Resource (HR) workplace ethic violations that are reported, perhaps as regular
occurrences. The most common occurrence in the workplace of the priors ise the code of ethics
violations. Most interns who end up becoming subordinate generally experience only the core value
of a company prior to the hiring process.
Hostility in the Workplace
In Marshawn case, shortly after being hired, after meeting with his supervisor, he encountered a
code of ethics violations by Clive Jenkins, his supervisor, the actions of other coworkers at Treton,

Cba Lockout Case Study
Then came the lockout. After a 136 day lockout, both sides eventually reached a settlement. The
owners association received a considerable increase from the revenue pool. Instead of one billion
dollars out of the nine billion, they are now receiving over half of the revenue pool. Along with
this, the salary cap was slightly lowered. There was a stipulation that placed in the agreement
that the owners must use at least ninety nine percent of the salary cap for the two seasons
following the CBA being ratified and at least ninety five for the five seasons after that. A solid
amount of the players demands was also met. The season is to stay at sixteen games instead of
eighteen like the owners association wanted. Also, players are to receive a

History Of Net Neutrality
Network neutrality has been debated for years now. Questions have risen such as Should internet
users communicate online freely? and Should internet provide unbiased information to users? The
answer to these questions is yes. I agree with Julius Genachowski in his speech Preserving a Free
and Open Internet: A Platform Innovation, Opportunity, and Prosperity that net neutrality, or open
internet, provides many valuable benefits for the internet community and for our society as a whole.
History of Net Neutrality
Although net neutrality has been an issue for a while, the debate sparked back up in May of last
year causing millions of concerned Internet users to become riled up. The Federal Communications
Commission (FCC) chairman, Tom... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not a question whether or not the internet should be neutral, but it already is. We use the
internet in so many aspect of our lives, sometimes we do not even notice it. The 2015 debates use
questions Americans send candidates through Facebook. If that does not show you how often we
use the internet, then I do not know what will. The internet has come a long way in only a couple
of decades. In my lifetime, I have witnessed the shift from dial up to broadband. I have seen
websites like Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter from the beginning and witnessed them become
successful. Just as Julius Genachowski said in his speech, We cannot know what tomorrow holds on

Observation Of Shopper Behavior
Firstly, when observing shopper behaviour, it is critical to understand that customers can not
know they are being observed, therefore it doesn t consciously or unconsciously influence their
behaviour. Because if people know they are being watched, they will become more self
awareness, and it may change their behaviour or what they do as a result (Graves 2010, p.72 74).
In order to observe how much time customers spent in store and how do they move in store,
Myer can use a technological way, such as WiFi. When people going shopping in Myer, they can
connect free WiFi in store, and when they leave the store, the WiFi will automatically disconnect.
Therefore, it tells how long customers spend in store and it can also track the movements of
customers in store. For the customer satisfaction, the manual observation would be better, so that
researcher can see objectives body language, and the words they use, their tone of voice, and their
facial expression. These can provide a visual indicator of how customer feeling during the
shopping (Graves 2010, p.85). To repot these behaviours, Myer can calculate the average time
people spent in store, and where is the most visited areas in store. These can answer the questions
of how to layout the store, where to put the products in order to get shoppers attention. Moreover,
through the observation of customers emotion, Myer can understand how to service customer in a
better, and how to make customers satisfied. I companied one of my

Drug Abuse In School Drug Policy
The school district in these cases have very specific definitions of what drugs and weapons are
and the consequences for violating the rules. The three issues faced by the principal are, did the
student violate the school s drug/ weapon policy, what was the student s intent, and lastly, what
should the consequences be for the student s actions? In the first case an African American female
was discovered taking a pill that she claimed was allergy medication. The school district defines
drugs as marijuana or a controlled substance as defined by 21 U.S.C. Section 801 et seq.; or a
dangerous drug otherwise defined in the State Safety code. The penalty is immediate assignment to
the alternative school for one semester. In order to determine if the student violated the drug policy
I would contact the student s parents to get confirmation that the student is taking the medication
with the parent s knowledge and ask the parent to bring the bottle to confirm the medication. Then, I
would show the medication to the person who witnessed the student taking the pill to confirm that
the pills in the bottle are the same as the pill that they saw the student taking. Furthermore, I would
have the student examined by the nurse and monitor the student to see if any signs of impairment
could be observed. After determining if the student had violated the school s drug policy or not I
would assign the in school suspension for a few days because even over the counter drugs are not

Cynthia Barnett s Rain Analysis
Cynthia Barnett s Rain discusses the natural and cultural history of rain. The text begins four billion
years ago, and then builds to climate change and how it is impacting global patterns of
precipitation. Barnett elaborates on how rain has impacted, amongst other things, culture,
civilization, and religion. To list a few examples, throughout history, rain has influenced the
prevalence of Yersinia pestis (i.e. bubonic plague), Shakespeare s writing, the myths behind certain
Greek gods (e.g. Zeus), and the development of life on earth. This review will discuss the major
ideas covered in the prologue up to chapter eight and will summarize common themes found in
these chapters. The author begins the text by discussing the history of water and

State Budget Vs Federal Budget
What is a budget? A budget forecasts the financial results and financial position of a company for
one or more future periods. A budget is used for planning and performance measurement purposes,
which can involve spending for fixed assets, rolling out new products, training employees, setting
up bonus plans, controlling operations, and so forth (Bragg, 2017).
The state of Georgia use different budgeting tools for example revenue projection. The state budget
is made up from the children that are attending grade school from kindergarten thru twelfth. Low
income parent and children and elderly individuals who is in need of medical coverage are
included as well. Georgia Department of Transportation also falls into the state budget along with
Georgia Department of Corrections facilities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like most states, Georgia collects revenue from a mix of personal and corporate income taxes,
sales taxes, gas and vehicle taxes, and various other levies and fees. Income taxes are the
cornerstone of Georgia s revenue system, accounting for about half of all state funds. Sales taxes
are the second largest revenue source, accounting for nearly a quarter of annual collections. A fair
and reliable revenue system requires both of these taxes (Bragg, 2017). With budgeting, the
federal government use different budgeting tools for example they may use pie graphs or budget
trends graphs. The federal budget is made up of General Funds which consist of education, public
safety and most other traditional state services are paid for from the General Fund, which includes
money raised by the motor fuel tax for

Venture capital(VC), which is known as the risk investment, shows significant role in promoting
the SMEs in raising finance. VC includes business angel financing, relationship lending and so

which are just starting up.(Dagogo, 2009) Venture capital is the fuel for high potential growth
firms, especially in the United States. New venture survival is tenuous at best, but those backed by
venture capitalists tend to achieve a higher survival rate than those that are not. said by
Robert(2010), moreover, in his study shows survival for venture capitalists backed ventures range
from around 65 percent to 85 percent of the venture capitalists portfolio. If SMEs managers can get

The Theory Of Social Contract Theory
Social Contract
Brian Horvath

The concept of social contract theory is that in the beginning man lived in the state of nature. They
had no government and there was now law to regulate them. There are three main philosophers
Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and Jean Jacques Rousseau that are best known for the social contract
theory. In the twentieth century moral and political theory with John Rawls Kantian version of
social contract theory and was then followed by David Gaunthier. Feminists and race conscious

Another is Hobbes argues is that humans are not only self interested but they are reasonable; he
believes people have it in them to be rational when they pursue their desires. Rationality is an
instrument that sums up the best means to whatever ends we might happen to have. As we
learned Hobbes believes men are naturally self interested and also rational so then this means
they will listen to the authority of a Sovereign this way they can live in a civil society that shares
a common interests with them. An argument he uses for this is the State of Nature of men. State
of nature is when men are only self interested so they are more or less equal to one another.
Hobbes believes that in a society that runs off a State of Nature would be brutal to live in,
because everyone is always in fear of losing their life to another person in this state. Since men
are reasonable they can find their way out of this society by recognizing the laws of nature. The
laws of nature can show people in a harsh society the means it takes to escape a State of Nature
society and create a civil society. The most important thing to understand when talking about the
laws of nature is that everyone must be willing to pursue peace while also continuing the right to
pursue war only when others do not pursue peace. Being

Characteristics Of Soccer Fans
Sports, celebrities, musicians, animals, and other things are composed of a specific group

on their fans because without fans they would be nothing. We can talk about thousands of fans
and their influencers, but there is a specific one that affects the world. Soccer is a game that
with a simple whistle creates a wave of emotions. Soccer fans are one of the most extended
groups of fanatics in the world. Absolutely, there are some haters about this sport. People
running behind a simple ball that is ridiculous, they said. Soccer fans do not care because there
is more than just a simple ball. There are many traits that need to be part of your life as a lover
of soccer. According to many soccer fans, these are some of the most important characteristics of
the best fans in the world. You need to be a fan of a specific club in the world. The team can be
from your own country or a foreign team. You can have more than one team from another league,
but you need to have your favorite team. The team that you are going to love forever. Every fan
in the world has at least one team to support. This can be international teams because you need to

Conflicts Within The Workplace Conflict
While conflict is a part of social relationships, there are many conflicts that are escalated beyond
the normal day to day interactive conflicts. Day to day interactive conflicts such as disagreeing
about what to cook for dinner or when to mow the lawn are inevitable and for the most part,
relatively easy to negotiate. However, more serious conflicts arise during the course of daily
living as well: in which religion to raise children if parents come from differing ideological
backgrounds or how much to spend on family vacations. Daily living and conflicts within the
family are not the only conflict, however. Conflicts at work, in social situations, in political
debates, and in global issues create tension in daily life as well. Both... Show more content on

I knew it would not be an issue, as this particular store hired and employed numerous college

Utilitarianism Essay
LUtilitarianism
Utilitarianism is an ethical theory which acts as a guideline on how people should act in certain
situations and was first introduced by a hedonist (pursuer of pleasure) named Jeremy Bentham who
put forward the Principle of Utility which said The greatest happiness for the greatest number .
Utilitarianism is a theory which bases on the end purpose (teleological) of achieving pleasure, our
decisions should be based on consequences in pursuit of the principle of utility (consequentialist)
and is a theory which judges each situation independently (relativistic).
Jeremy Bentham was the first contributor and developer for Utilitarianism and was most famous for
his version of Act Utilitarianism which focused applying the ... Show more content on

Bentham believed that all people were entitled to happiness, and thus each to count as one and no
one as more than one. However, there were many obvious faults in this theory; for example,
eating a chocolate bar is subjective to people who like and dislike chocolate therefore not every
action has equal pleasure and pain for every person.
John Stuart Mill, a fellow colleague of Jeremy Bentham criticised him for developing a Swine
theory as it encouraged people to be selfish and recognizes no higher purpose for life other than
the mere pursuit of pleasure. Mill was concerned that one person s unhappiness could be entirely
overlooked if the majority were happy. Unlike Bentham, Mill focused on differentiating the
quality of pleasure and thus introduced a new theory of utility called Rule Utilitarianism which
acted as a general guideline that achieved happiness without discriminating. Mill s definition of
happiness was tended to the spiritual and culture side rather than just physical. He distinguished
between Higher and lower pleasures, higher pleasures were in pleasures in tune with the mind
such as reading and poetry and lower pleasures tended to physical needs to do with the body like
sex and eating. Mill stated that lower pleasures are more easily accomplishable and thus have to be
completed before satisfying the intellectual needs of the mind. He famously wrote It is better to be
a human satisfied than a pig satisfied, it is

Network Performance Quality Of Service Project Report
The aim of this project is to investigate and implement a standardised way to monitor and improve
quality of service for a user with devices connected to the internet of things. Although there are
several papers referring to the need for this, any implementation has been on an ad hoc bases for
specific devices/issues and not rolled out as a standard approach.
The approach this project is taking is to implement an algorithm which will monitor a network
and work to improve its quality or service through different protocols. It will not be specific to
just one application and the end goal would be the algorithm working with all types of IoT devices
and handle a range of issues. 2.The Problem
Network performance Quality of Service (QoS) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is therefore interesting that this area remains to be unstandardized today.
The researcher in this paper proposes that the problem is responded to by a QoS architecture based
on IoT layered structure. This architecture sets QoS agent in lower layers then transmits QoS
requirements, trying to guarantee the consistency as well as effectively use the existing QoS
mechanisms in every layer. (Duan, Chen and Xing, 2011)
Other research suggests that the integration between IoT and other technologies such as Cloud
Computing is in its infantile phase and it has not been extended to all application domains due to
its inadequate quality of service architecture. (T, S and A, 2015) . We see here the lack of QoS in
the IoT also has an impact on the future and extendibility of the IoT. Within this area of QoS,
which continues to be actively researched, there is still a gap in any currently available solution.
This project aims to contribute to this gap.
3.The Proposed Solution
The proposed solution is to develop a protocol, a set of rules, to monitor application performance
and the real time state of the network in the Internet of Things (IoT). The objective of this ruleset
is to achieve Quality of Service (QoS) from the network perspective and Quality of Experience
(QoE) from the user perspective. This ruleset will support a range of devices and applications in
the IoT. There will also be consideration taken into

Disabilities are considered limitations in performing everyday activities such as talking, hearing,
seeing, walking, and performing ADLs. (Hinkle, 2014)
Yes, they can coexist. For instance, if someone is diagnosed with having rheumatoid arthritis they
could have a disability. They could have trouble carrying heavy objects and performing ADLs due
to pain and possibly contractures that are caused by the disease.

A Research About The History Of Television Essay
Television History

Abstract
This study is an in depth research about the history of television. Many people know the history of
the lightbulb and who created; however, many people like myself have little to no knowledge about
the creator of the television, when it was created, and the purpose of it. This paper will discuss the
history of TV, manufacturing companies behind this magical device, consumer profile on the users
of it, global application, marketing strategies used to sell the product, and future predicaments on
the technological advances in the upcoming years.
Keywords: Television, consumers, device, technology, history, marketing, manufacture, product,
worldwide, and future.
My topic of choice is the television. I chose to write about it because it is the only technological
device my family does not use. Although we have a television, it is never on because other
companies like Netflix and news sites on the internet are taking over people s interest considering
it is much more portable. I thought it would be interesting to learn about the history of TV and
the future of it. I have witnessed how television screens went flat. If you enter any home in today
s day and age you can see that nobody owns a tube style television or CRT. It is interesting to see
consumers racing to receive the latest technological devices. What is more interesting is the way

Both stories interpret the lives of adolescent boys journeying through their conflicts and inner
confusion to reach adulthood. Gene Forrester, a bright young student at the Devon School
experiences some of the same trauma and depression Holden goes through. Gene mentions that
Exposing a sincere emotion openly like that at the Devon School was the next thing to suicide
(Knowles), allowing the reader to see his eagerness to feel accepted and not alone. As
professionals state, A mental illness can make you miserable and can cause problems in your
daily life, such as at school or work or in relationships (Mayo Clinic Staff), which affects both
Gene and Holden. His friend Phineas suffers a tragic accident which leaves Gene traumatized and
unable to comprehend the events of the accident, as he recalls, ... But ever since then I ve had a
feeling that the tree did it by itself... almost as though the tree shook me out by itself (Knowles).
The battle of Gene with himself and Holden with himself creates the similar major conflicts
between the novels. In this case, Holden suffers more in The Catcher in the Rye because he
struggles with a great depression and he constantly tries to escape his feelings through drinking,
sexual intimations, terrible attitude, and attempts of violence and suicide. Likewise, Gene also
turns violent due to the stress of his situation, as he explains, I hit him hard across the face. I didn t
know why for an instant; it was almost as though I were maimed (Knowles), similarly like Holden s
constant mentions of hurting others and his altercations with Stradlater and the bellhop. He
undergoes periods of extreme depression and sullenness in which he questions the previous
incident, saying, Nothing endures, not a tree, not love, not even a death by violence (Knowles) and

Who Is Melia In The Ruined Maid
In Thomas Hardy s poem, The Ruined Maid, the maid is ruined from past behaviours which
have led her to become an ostracized victim of the Victorian society. The term ruined in the
Oxford Dictionary can mean broken down, neglected, as well as un cared for (Oxford
Dictionary), while in the poem, being ruined refers to the maid being impure, labelled, and
unworthy. The inscription of language and imagery, as well as the ideas of social class,
permanence of labelling in society are used in this conversation poem to answer why Melia has
been ruined.
The language between Melia and the first speaker are very different, as if they come from
different classes. The friend communicates with slang, and now you ve gay bracelets and bright

Melia s ostracized life is demonstrated through the depiction of language and Victorian morality
views; the relationship between labelling and Melia s ruined self is established within the time
that the poem was published. Thomas Hardy being a late Victorian poet furthers this ideology of
ostracized women in the Victorian era with the use of his inscription. In the Victorian era, it was
considered socially acceptable to have women who had premarital sex publically shamed by
wearing certain garments and acting a certain way on the streets (Prostitution of Young Females in
London). People who behaved toward the act and semblance of prostitution were then scorned
because it was a symbol of impurity and tainted life (Prostitution of Young Females in London).
Premarital sex was one of the worst things that a woman could do because they would ruin their
chances of achieving a normal life. Melia s life was then ruined because of prostitution or pre

Synoptical Essay On The Gospel Of John
John s Gospel, unlike the Synoptic Gospels focuses more on eye witness events of Jesus life.
John s passage about Jesus washing his disciples feet is one of the many passages where Jesus
teaches his disciples through demonstration what it truly means to be a disciple. Jesus knows
that he is the son of God, and despite that knowledge, he still gets down on his knees to wash his
disciples feet. This passage shows his profound love for all of his disciples. John s audience at this
time was all of the Christians living between 100 110 CE.
Although the Gospel of John is formally anonymous, with the help of internal and external
evidence, a better understanding of who wrote this text can be achieved. Modern scholars believe

It also included two well known ceremonies, the Water Ceremony and Light Ceremony found in
chapters seven and eight, along with the sacrifices of lambs in the Temple during the Passover. In
the Synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, most of events take place in Galilee, whereas in
the Gospel of John more events take place in Jerusalem and Judea. These customs and locations of
events suggest that the audience this Gospel was written for were people who believe in
Judaism.4 Despite these conclusions, some may argue that the Gospel of John was written more
for Gentiles since this Gospel portrays Jews in a more hostile lightning as seen when they reject
Jesus.5 For many years, people have tried to approximate which year the Gospel of John was
finished. Many scholars believed that it was written sometime between 140 170 CE, and many
would also agree that John was the last written of the four Gospels. It is very hard to set a date for

Mission And Vision Of Strategic Planning
Introduction Strategic planning has been defined by many scholars. According to Rowley, Lujan,
Dolenece (1997), strategic planning is an optimization process within an organization to maintain
the essential components of it. In strategic planning, it is important to consider the stability between
the organization and the environment that is changing by developing a practical process that
comply organization s future needs as well as achieving its goals (Peterson, 1999). Higher education
s environment has been changing in the past 25 years due to economic change, policy change, rise
of social expectations, complexity of the management, and new leaderships (Manning, 2012). The
evolution and complexity of higher education requires more sophisticated strategic planningmodels
with focus on the mission and vision of the organization as well as the changing environment. In
this paper, we will discuss different strategic models that have been used in higher education.
Further, we will design and develop a 5 year strategic plan for La Serra University s career center,
by looking at UCR and Cal Baptist University career center as an example. We will develop a
proposal by considering student s purposed to attend college by preparing a survey to be
conducted on La Sierra University campus. We will discuss different budgeting models in higher
education, and finally we will do a SWOT analysis of the plan in order to identify the internal and
external problems and challenges as well

Bleeding Kansas Themes
Chase Nichols History, Civics, Social Responsibility Mr. Kaufmann Movie Review The West:
Episode 4 (Death Runs Riot) In the 1850 s, more American pioneers moved west, bringing with
them slavery that would ignite the Civil War. Tactics that had defeated the armies of the South
would then begin to be used against the Native Americans of the West. In Bleeding Kansas,
abolitionists battle for free soil. In Utah, federal troops march against Mormon their practice of
polygamy. The war between North and South unleashes visceral savagery in the West, and leaves
behind an army prepared for total war against the Native Americans of the plains. Introductory
comments suggest that the West, at least during this time, was a region of exaggerated violence in
places such as Pottawattamie... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Julia Lovejoy, an antislavery advocate who had recently moved to Kansas, provides some
narrative unity for the first theme. Her letters, written to relatives in New Hampshire, detail the
horrors of bleeding Kansas. The second theme is told effectively from the perspective of Black
Kettle, the Cheyenne peace chief, whose people were the victims of both Colonel John
Chivington s massacre at Sand Creek, Colorado, and George Armstrong Custer s 1868 attack on
the banks of the Washita River. Individual segments, which could be shown separately or safely
omitted, tell the stories of: Samuel Clemens sharpening his wit in his early years as a reporter in
Nevada City; and John D. Lee, who led the Mormons in a massacre of a wagon train at Mountain
Meadows. This tragic incident, controversial both then and now, is explained in the context of
rising American hostility toward Mormons, and the latter group s fears of the U.S. Army marching
against them toward Salt

Frank Herbert and His Classic Novel, Dune Essay
Frank Herbert and His Classic Novel, Dune
A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct. Princess
Irulan speaks these words in the award winning novel Dune (Novel). Frank Herbert knew this
quote was true because he carefully planned his epic masterpiece before he started writing. The
novel could only happen after research of a variety of topics. Dune has many different influences
and origins. Frank Herbert s complicated book, covering a variety of themes, took six years to
complete (Wikipedia).
Frank Herbert was born in Tacoma Washington on October 8, 1920. At an early age, he carried

They were married in Seattle on June 20, 1946 (Wikipedia).
Herbert began reading science fiction in the 1940 s, and by the 1950 s decided that science
fiction is what he wanted to write. Early in his career, he published short stories under a
pseudonym that he refused to reveal (O Reilley). Some of his short fiction under his real name
appeared in Startling Fiction. He was an infrequent writer, though. He only produced twenty short
stories in a decade. His first published novel was Dragon in the Sea, also titled Under Pressure
(Wikipedia).
Herbert s past work would be shadowed by what was coming next. The origins of the novel Dune
began in 1959. Herbert worked on an assignment asking him to write an article about sand dunes
in Florence, Oregon. The government was trying to stop the spread of the dunes over the coastline.
He became very involved with the project and ended up with a mass of information. Herbert never
handed in the article, but it served as the seed for the ideas that created Dune. He stated about the
incident:
I had far too much for an article and far too much for a short story. So I didn t know really what I
had but I had an enormous amount of data and avenues shooting off at all angles to get more.... I
finally saw that I had something enormously interesting going for me about the ecology of deserts,
and it was, for a science fiction writer anyway, an easy step from that to

Genetic Engineering And The Human Genome Project
In 1990, the science world began a vigorous new exploration of human DNA the Human Genome
Project. The goal of this project was to map out all the human genes (An Overview of, 2015), which
ultimately led to a deeper understanding of all genes, not just a human s. This deeper understanding
also helped scientists to progress further in the technology of recombinant DNA. Recombinant
DNA is when DNA from different cells is spliced together, creating a new strand (Kuure Kinsey,
2000). Recombinant DNA is often used to genetically change a cell, which is known as genetic
engineering. Genetic engineering can be used to prevent and alleviate symptoms of various
diseases, by pinpointing and fixing the gene that causes them. It enables organisms to... Show more

Instead of testing genetic engineering directly on a human, scientists perform tests on other living
things like the Escherichia coli bacteria used in the pGLO lab. The purpose of the scientists
performing the pGLO lab was to see if they were able to alter the DNA of a bacteria, E. coli,
causing the bacteria to glow, if the insertion of the glow gene, which originated in a jellyfish, was
successful. Four groups of bacteria were experimented with. Two of these groups were control
groups; the bacteria with no DNA alteration on an agar plate containing nutrient broth, and the
bacteria with the pGLO gene added on an agar plate with both Ampicillin and nutrient broth added
to it. Each of these plates acted as a baseline for comparison for the other two plates, which were the
experimental plates. The experimental groups were the groups consisting of unaltered bacteria on
an agar plate containing Ampicillin and nutrient broth, and the altered (pGLO gene added) bacteria
on an agar plate containing the nutrient broth, Ampicillin, and Arabinose sugar. Along with control
groups and experimental groups, every experiment has both independent and dependent variables.
In the pGLO experiment, the independent variables were the Ampicillin, Arabinose sugar, and the
nutrient broth, all of which were added to the agar plate, as well as the pGLO gene being added to
the bacteria s DNA. These

Ancient Cultures Beliefs
Way back in the ancient cultures beliefs and faith played a major roll in their lifetime. It
treasured the art that spoke to them and made them closer to god, since writing was not indicate
back then. Some believed in only one god, some in many gods and some people believed in
objects like animals, the sun, items and even the weather. After visiting the Kimbell Art Museum
in Fort Worth and observing some of the ancient Egyptian art collection displayed, I have
decided to pick the theme of God to inform about. After my research, I discovered new and
different key points about the Egyptian beliefs in god and how it affects us in our world today.
My first object is the Kneeling Statue of Senenmut, Chief Steward of Queen Hatshepsut, the
second object is Red Figure Cup Showing the Death of Pentheus (exterior) and a Maenad (interior)
and the last object is the Head of a Ewe.
The first object that I have picked while I was at the museum is the Kneeling Statue of Senenmut,
Chief Steward of Queen Hatshepsut. It is said that it was created in the early 18th century between
the years 1473 1458 B.C. The instant I walked in into the Ancient Egyptian collection I couldn t
take my eye off of that sculpture, due to that being it was probably the the darkest object there.
The kneeling Statue of Senenmut was engraved from a grayish green stone, I like this object
because, all the achievement and work that Senenmut have done in his life was carved all over this
object. One of my dislikes is

Sexual Inequality, Disease And Despotism
Despite some of the truths in this quote like the idea that agriculture may have led to sexual
inequality, disease and despotism , agriculture revolution still had an immensely positive impact.
Following the creation of agriculture came a sedentary life style, and these two concepts led to the
significant increase in humanpopulation, as it was a more stable approach to living. It is only human
nature to want more, want to succeed, and want to better them selves and maintain dominance. If
the adoption of agriculturehad not occurred, another concept with as many negatives would have

Such a demand called for enhancement in technology and tools. Tools were not a new concept
during the creation of agriculture, yet, with the agrarian age and those to follow came the
advancement of tools. Tools transitioned from the first stone hand axe4 to unique tools specifically
for agriculture, such as the plow, and other tools that had been used since the earliest of times were
upgraded. Food storage and systems food processing became a necessity to these agricultural based
societies. Agriculture changed and bettered previously used tools in a way that wouldn t have been
possible without the agrarian world. Following these creations came the irrigation system. Some
societies faced the challenge of flooding spoiling crops. The use of these large and complex
irrigation systems gave them control of the water that raises their crops. Though an irrigation
system wouldn t have been a necessity in a world without agriculture, this system inspired and
birthed new inventions that have aided different aspects of life that humanity could not go with out.
Alongside these advancements came the advancements regarding architecture. As agriculture
played the greatest role in sedentary civilizations, it is also the motive behind the growing interests
and improvements in architecture. Through out the Indus Valley during the third millennium
B.C.E. vast ground plans and impressive structures sprouted.5 The greatest of architectural
revelations are remembered though Greek and Roman movements. These two cities and their
architectural expertise played a significant role in art movements. Ancient Rome revolutionized
architecture with unique stonework and their distinct coliseums. Yet, historians first discuss
advancements in architecture following the creation of agriculture. It [agriculture] encouraged the

The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In Nigeria
The perception of Africa is often limited to poverty, disease, starvation and inequality. In 1999,
extreme poverty affected 58% of the African population. That number has now fallen to 35%. With
over 500 companies generating a turnover involving billions of dollars each year, Africa is not
emerging it s already here.
Surprising to most, Africa is the world leader in online banking and mobile money transactions. The
continent faces many challenges and difficulties, but Africa is evolving and already boasts
numerous economies.
It s no longer a continent of conflict. Many foreigners forget that most countries in Africa are
democratically run.
Africa s growth can be tracked in multiple areas, such as the improvement in democracy in
government, population growth, demographics, education, and an uptake in IT and mobile phone
usage.
Nigeria
One in every five Africans is Nigerian; that is an indicator of how large and populated Nigeria is.
Often referred to as the Giant of Africa owing to this reputation, Nigeria has a population of
approximately 187 million, and the largest youth population in the world. The country is home to
over 500 ethnic groups, with Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba being the three largest.
Governed by President Muhammadu Buhari, who took over from Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, the
country is run by a presidential government system consisting of the executive, the legislature, and
the judiciary.

Equine Conditioning
Equines have been essential to the evolution of our society for over 4,000 years, providing speed
and strength to aid in work, travel, and war. They are extreme athletes, capable of producing
high speeds and stamina and are able to do so efficiently. This is due partly to the muscle
physiology of the equine. In most mammals, 40 45% of body weight is made of muscle mass. In
horses this percentage is increased to over 50%. Horses are not all the same, however. Different
breeds have different skeletal muscle builds as well as muscle types. For example, the
Thoroughbred, one of the most athletic breeds of horses, has a muscle mass percentage of almost
55%. (Gunn, 1979) Conditioning of our equine athletes is an important part of equine care,

Interval training consists of workouts over a specified period of time or distance to increase the
heartrate, with breaks in between to lower heartrate. These exercises were carried out at walk,
trot, canter, and gallops. Swimming was also included on some days. Kikkuli describes
strenuous workouts, often for three times a day. An example in the text details trotting their
horses on the chariot for 18 miles and then galloping for over three quarters of a mile. They are
returned to the stable, washed down, and fed. At night they are then trotted for an additional 6
miles and galloped for three quarters of a mile. Horses were given breaks, easy days, and days off
as needed and while the primary goal was to create a fit war machine, the horses were allowed to
progress on their own time. As the training continued, the exercises remained similar is style but the
difficulty and length increased. (McMiken, 1990) These exact methods were reproduced in the
1990s by Dr. Ann Nyland, an endurance racing competitor. She took 10 Arabian horses and
followed Kikkuli s strenuous methods and found that his methods produced an extremely healthy
and fit horse compared to modern training techniques at the time. (Coetzee Eysturlid,

The male dominated society has hardly left any stone unturned in empowerment of women.
Williams Shakespeare s tragic play, Othello, reveals a detailed illustration of victimization of
females in society. Throughout the play, the three women Desdemona, Emilia, and Bianca are
rejected by their spouses, yet still cherish them completely. All three of the women are in an
unbalanced marriage where the women in the relationships exert more feelings for their self
centered husband who are not able respond. As the males throughout the play create a downfall in a

Brabantio encountered Othello for running away secretly with Desdemona without his approval,
he accuses Othello of being a foul their as if Desdemona was his piece of property. Brabantio
repeatedly insisted Othello had stolen his daughter as if she were a valuable object as he states O,
thou foul thief, where hast thou stowed my daughter? (1.2.80 81). As Iago speaks to Brabantio and
plants the idea of loss of power into Brabantio s mind. Iago cautions him saying, Your heart is
burst, you have lost half your soul (1.1 88 90). This quote highlights the fact that in Elizabethan
society, Brabantio, like other fathers, considered Desdemona s body to be his possession.
Brabantio attempts to separate the couple as he believes he has control over her whether he
wants to give away his daughter or not. Desdemona even points out that her mother chose
Brabantio over her father. Despite her ability to argue for her marriage, Desdemona is still seen
as owing to either Brabantio or Othello. Both Brabantio and Othello were worried about the loss
of control and authority over the female desires when both individuals want to keep the possession
to themselves. Desdemona is treated more as if she was a piece of property that is being
exchanged between two men.
Nevertheless, a stronger character such as Emilia has accepted her role in society, as she is
considered weaker than men and are recognized to be property belonging to the man whom they are
associated with. Iago,

applied to organizational leaders who observe the workplace to gain knowledge and make

service, organizational leaders observe the process to identify the root cause of problems or
opportunities (Dombrowski Mielke, 2013). Organizational leaders avoid defects by identifying
and addressing problems through the Gemba process (Hossen, 2015). Critchley (2015) discussed
the spaghetti diagram as a tool to document movement of a product or individual. To develop a

self doubt about his determination, his relationship with those around him, and his relationship with
his mother, Coriolanus is a man at the mercy of his environment. The environment that shapes

Volumnia, unlike the other women in the play such as Virgilia, does not recoil from war and the
battlefield. Instead, Volumnia both identifies with the war heroand delights in both his triumphs
and his pain. In describing the pride she would gain from her sons deaths in battle, Volumnia
separates herself from the other women in the play who want nothing to do with war, I had
rather eleven die nobly for their country than one voluptuously surfeit out of action. (1.3.20 21).
Thus the pride that Coriolanus derives from his own wounds and wounded body is a product of
his mother s pride in having a wounded son. Volumnia describes with pride Coriolanus s bloody
brow, Though you were born in Rome! His bloody brow/ with his mailed hand then wiping
(1.3.31 32). The pride that Volumnia procures from her son s victories and injuries winds up
reflecting itself on Coriolanus who describes these victories and wounds with equal pride. By the
end of the first act, Volumnia s descriptions of mothering demonstrate the warlike spirit she has
channeled into her raising of Coriolanus. The imagery she uses in Act 1 Scene 3 also separates her
from the other women in the play. Volumnia speaks of blood, swords, and death, while women like
Virgilia speak of sewing and butterflies.
Volumnia s speech patterns put her in the commanding position in her relationship with Coriolanus.

Treatment Of Women In The Taming Of The Shrew
The Taming of the Shrew written by William Shakespeare obtains various interpretations that are
viewed as debatable. The novel involves men attempting to ask for Baptista s blessing to marry his
youngest daughter, Bianca. However, the oldest daughter Katherine was not fancied by most men
because of her blunt personality and feisty attitude. Many readers, especially feminists, argue that
the Taming of the Shrewrevolves around the idea of how men oppress women by the way men find
Kat s attitude as unappealing, how Petruchio attempts to tame Kat, and at the end of the novel when
the three married men challenge each other to see which wife is the most obedient.
Kehler s Statement on What is Expected of Women The youngest sister, Bianca, was adored by
dozens of men because she was quite the opposite of her older sister, Katherine. Katherine came
off as harsh because she spoke whatever was on her mind which is why men preferred to ask for
Bianca s hand in marriage. Bianca was obedient and most importantly kept her thoughts to herself.
Bianca s soft and quiet personality did not threaten men in the slightest; therefore, the line to ask for
her hand in marriage grew. Dorothea Kehler argues, The explicit and implicit subjects of this play

The most popular example of which is the LEAN thinking and the Six Sigma concept. Six Sigma
approach to improve quality has been used in many organizations since its inception at Motorola

Romeo And Juliet 1968 And 1996
William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , is the most well known classical piece of sentimental
literature in the world. Throughout the years, it has been adapted into films by directors from an
extensive range of dialect backgrounds. Among those, Franco Zeffirelli s 1968 version and the
modern version directed by Baz Luhrmann in 1996, are both unquestionably the most successful
and popular variations. Roger Ebert, quoted Franco Zeffirelli s 1968 film version of Romeo and
Juliet stating The success of the film depends upon Whiting and Miss Hussey...They are
magnificent . The leading actors incorporate Leonard Whiting in the role of Romeo, and Olivia
Hussey essentially as Juliet. Peter Travers, quoted Baz Luhrmann s 1996 film version of Romeo

Data Analysis Plan The raw data were analyzed as the mean BOLD activations and their standard
deviations (Figure 5). Data were analyzed in 2 (Age) X 4 (Stimuli), within subjects analysis of
variance (ANOVA). Data regarding the face and scrambled face conditions were analyzed using a 2
(age) X 2 (Face Stimuli and Scrambled Face Stimuli), within subjects ANOVA. Data regarding
only the multi part and chain objects stimuli were then analyzed using a 2 (Age) X 2 (Multi Part
Object, Chain Object), within subjects ANOVA. Lastly, the relationship between the BOLD
response to familiar objects in 4 month olds and the BOLD response to faces at 4 month olds were
analyzed using a t test.
Descriptive Statistics There was very little difference between participants in regard to gender
(Males, n = 7, Females, n = 9) and race (White, n = 16). All of the infants were approximately 1
month old at the first session (M = 1.1) and 4 months old (M = 3.9) at the second session.
Raw Data When examining the raw data, the average change in the BOLD signal for faces was
significant (1.8% change) whereas the BOLD signal for the other stimuli was not significant
(scrambled faces .35% change, familiar objects .37% change, novel objects .35% change) when the
infants were 1 month old. When the infants were 4 months old and measured a second time, the
average change was significant for face and familiar stimuli (1.75% and 1.25%). When measured
the second time, the change in BOLD signal remained

Doll House Research Papers
Dollhouses provide children with a wonderful opportunity to use their imaginations. Amazon has an
adorable array of dollhouses included Sylvanian Families houses, Fisher Price, and Calico Critters
houses and play sets. The wonderful thing about these types of toys is that they let children mimic
what they see in their own homes. They can also help children to work out things that they might
not understand through imaginative play.
The best dollhouse for your child will depend on the child s age and interests. A toddler would
do well with something simple that s designed to be a first dollhouse. It should have large,
chunky pieces that are easy for small hands to manipulate. A child that s a bit older who loves
animals may love one of the Sylvanian families homes. The sweet creatures who live in these
homes are perfect for children who are animal lovers. The child who enjoy playing with fashion
dolls, may enjoy one of the dollhouses designed to be used with fashion dolls.
Since toys such as the Sylvanian families houses are run by the child s imagination, each day that
the child plays is different from the last. This keeps children entertained and coming back to play
over and over again. Dollhouses are perfect for children to play with alone, or with siblings, or

Growing up he was surrounded by friends who wanted to go to college right after high schoolbut for

sea. For example a torpedoman first class who lived in his complex would always tell him stories
and he would sit and chat with him and also Sergeant Mcgee who was a helicopter mechanic. He
would listen to their stories and he would be so intrigued and fascinated that he wanted to join
himself . Although he was only eight at the timehe knew that serving for his country is what he

The Handmaid s Tale
Nolite de Bastardes Carborundorum: Feminism in Margaret Atwood s The Handmaid s Tale,
Edwidge Danticat s Breath, Eyes, Memory, and Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar Feminist literature
encompasses a wide range of issues concerning gender equality and the many waves and
movements of feminism that have arisen throughout history and across generations. Margaret
Atwood s The Handmaid s Tale, Edwidge Danticat s Breath, Eyes, Memory, and Sylvia Plath s
The Bell Jar are three works which deal with a broad range of feminist issues, each involving a
different form of feminism. In The Handmaid s Tale, Atwood uses an overbearingly patriarchal
society as a means of critiquing Radical Feminism, illustrating the various ways in which woman
can actually contribute to and facilitate their own oppression. In Breath, Eyes, Memory, Danticat
explores Postcolonial Feminism by analyzing feminist issues that arise outside of Western culture,
which are often overlooked in Western society. Sylvia Plath s The Bell Jar includes aspects of
Liberal Feminism, which focuses on women s political, professional, and intellectual equality to

Celebrity Worship Is A Common Day Ritual
Nowadays, celebrity worship is considered a common day ritual, as it is performed by millions
of people around the world. However, this practice has been a disease to the world and continues
to conflict the youth with deranged goals and aspirations. Misconceptions of what an idealistic
worship lifestyle are inevitable, considering that the definition of a worshipper gets modified every
year. The primary reasons as to why CelebrityWorship is a poison to the world and why it must be
stopped is due to the fact that it distracts the person from focusing on what is important in life, it
provides an unstable relationship with a celebrity which can get psychotic, and it can create
inadequate goals and aspirations for one to follow.

Weishar also gives an example on the fact that although there are people who do not give in to
the hype that the media creates on these celebrities, there are still millions of people who buy
into it. Not everyone buys into this corporate pop culture non sense, and not all pop culture is
created by corporations. Social media has allowed us to create our own pop culture behind the
scenes, but at the same time we follow trends more than ever and they are often dictated by
celebrities on outlets like twitter. Celebrities like Kardashian who get paid $10,000 every time
she promotes a product in 140 characters or less (par. 13). In a society that has been enveloped
by social media, these celebrities have more power than ever before, and they utilize this niche
by creating several social trends that they know the majority will follow. With new trends created
every day, and celebrities dictating on how people should live their lives, how does this benefit
the population on focusing on what s necessary? Aside from the distractions that it causes,
celebrity worship creates delusional relationships with these idols. They create a connection with
celebrities and due to their obsession, they will feel as if they have became friends with the idol,
even though the idol has not met the person. This creates an image of a false connection being
made with a celebrity who does not even

Essay On The Difference Between Civil Law And American...
Compared to the rest of the industrialized world, the United States is a fairly young country. As a
result, the U.S. has many institutions that differ from other advanced industrial democracies. One
of the most prominent differences between the U.S. and the rest of the industrialized world resides
in our legal systems. While the most common democratic judicial tradition, especially in social
democracies, is the civil law tradition, the U.S. differs and has a common lawlegal tradition. Many
differences exist between civil and common law traditions and the United Stateslegal system would
have stark changes if it switched to a civil legal system.
A key difference between civil and common law legal systems is the role of the legal code. In
civil law, the legal code is the supreme source of justice in a society; a handbook on citizen rights,
responsibilities, and the law (Poloni Staudinger and Wolf 2016, p.97). In civil law, the the legal...

In common law systems, less emphasis is placed on strictly following the words of the legal
code, but rather following the precedent set by previous cases findings. Furthermore, as
mentioned earlier, judges in common law nations have a prestigious connotation attached to their
role. They hold a highly sought after position and earn their black robe through the culmination
of their legal career. With the defendant under the presumption of innocence, these judges and the
court act as neutral actors and let the two opposing sides argue their case in front of a jury.
Because of this, the common law system is referred to as adversarial (Poloni Staudinger and
Wolf 2016, p.100). One of the biggest differences amongst common and civil law systems is the
role of judicial review. Unlike in nations with civil law, common law societies have a tremendous
amount of judicial review oversight of legislative or executive actions by the judiciary (Poloni

The Field Of American Studies
In this essay, I will examine the field of American Studies and attempt to explain its ever changing
definition. I will take the reader through the origins of American Studies and describe the events
that led to changes in the discipline.
The scholars in American Studies are constantly seeking to understand the practices by individuals
and groups and their history of origin. Scholars struggle to understand how values and beliefs shape
social and political realities within the U.S. and other countries. American Studies is an
interdisciplinary study that explores cultures of the United States as well as their transnational
exchanges and impact.
In the words of Staurt Hall, he finds in American culture and in America s capacity to live with
difference the best illustration of a continuous dialect between the local and the global, between the
insular and the transnational. He defines culture as an embodiment of the best that has been
thought and said in a society. It is the sum of the great ideas as represented in the classic works of
painting, music, and philosophy that represent culture. (Hall, 9) Hall also has observed U.S.
dominance in communication and described America as the common factor of globalization.
The field of American Studies began in what may be called a single beginning with multiple
origins. The beginning of the American Studies Association in late 1951 and early 1952 and the
beginning of the journal, American Quarterly at the University of Minnesota in

  • 3. Cba Lockout Case Study Then came the lockout. After a 136 day lockout, both sides eventually reached a settlement. The owners association received a considerable increase from the revenue pool. Instead of one billion dollars out of the nine billion, they are now receiving over half of the revenue pool. Along with this, the salary cap was slightly lowered. There was a stipulation that placed in the agreement that the owners must use at least ninety nine percent of the salary cap for the two seasons following the CBA being ratified and at least ninety five for the five seasons after that. A solid amount of the players demands was also met. The season is to stay at sixteen games instead of eighteen like the owners association wanted. Also, players are to receive a ... Questions have risen such as Should internet users communicate online freely? and Should internet provide unbiased information to users? The answer to these questions is yes. I agree with Julius Genachowski in his speech Preserving a Free and Open Internet: A Platform Innovation, Opportunity, and Prosperity that net neutrality, or open internet, provides many valuable benefits for the internet community and for our society as a whole. History of Net Neutrality Although net neutrality has been an issue for a while, the debate sparked back up in May of last year causing millions of concerned Internet users to become riled up. We use the internet in so many aspect of our lives, sometimes we do not even notice it. The 2015 debates use questions Americans send candidates through Facebook. If that does not show you how often we use the internet, then I do not know what will. The internet has come a long way in only a couple of decades. In my lifetime, I have witnessed the shift from dial up to broadband. I have seen websites like Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter from the beginning and witnessed them become successful. • 5. Observation Of Shopper Behavior Firstly, when observing shopper behaviour, it is critical to understand that customers can not know they are being observed, therefore it doesn t consciously or unconsciously influence their behaviour. Because if people know they are being watched, they will become more self awareness, and it may change their behaviour or what they do as a result (Graves 2010, p.72 74). In order to observe how much time customers spent in store and how do they move in store, Myer can use a technological way, such as WiFi. When people going shopping in Myer, they can connect free WiFi in store, and when they leave the store, the WiFi will automatically disconnect. Therefore, it tells how long customers spend in store and it can also track the movements of customers in store. For the customer satisfaction, the manual observation would be better, so that researcher can see objectives body language, and the words they use, their tone of voice, and their facial expression. These can provide a visual indicator of how customer feeling during the shopping (Graves 2010, p.85). To repot these behaviours, Myer can calculate the average time people spent in store, and where is the most visited areas in store. These can answer the questions of how to layout the store, where to put the products in order to get shoppers attention. Moreover, through the observation of customers emotion, Myer can understand how to service customer in a better, and how to make customers satisfied. I companied one of my ... • 6. Drug Abuse In School Drug Policy The school district in these cases have very specific definitions of what drugs and weapons are and the consequences for violating the rules. The three issues faced by the principal are, did the student violate the school s drug/ weapon policy, what was the student s intent, and lastly, what should the consequences be for the student s actions? In the first case an African American female was discovered taking a pill that she claimed was allergy medication. The school district defines drugs as marijuana or a controlled substance as defined by 21 U.S.C. Section 801 et seq.; or a dangerous drug otherwise defined in the State Safety code. The penalty is immediate assignment to the alternative school for one semester. In order to determine if the student violated the drug policy I would contact the student s parents to get confirmation that the student is taking the medication with the parent s knowledge and ask the parent to bring the bottle to confirm the medication. Then, I would show the medication to the person who witnessed the student taking the pill to confirm that the pills in the bottle are the same as the pill that they saw the student taking. Furthermore, I would have the student examined by the nurse and monitor the student to see if any signs of impairment could be observed. After determining if the student had violated the school s drug policy or not I would assign the in school suspension for a few days because even over the counter drugs are not permitted ... Day to day interactive conflicts such as disagreeing about what to cook for dinner or when to mow the lawn are inevitable and for the most part, relatively easy to negotiate. However, more serious conflicts arise during the course of daily living as well: in which religion to raise children if parents come from differing ideological backgrounds or how much to spend on family vacations. Daily living and conflicts within the family are not the only conflict, however. Conflicts at work, in social situations, in political debates, and in global issues create tension in daily life as well. Both... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Utilitarianism Essay LUtilitarianism Utilitarianism is an ethical theory which acts as a guideline on how people should act in certain situations and was first introduced by a hedonist (pursuer of pleasure) named Jeremy Bentham who put forward the Principle of Utility which said The greatest happiness for the greatest number . Utilitarianism is a theory which bases on the end purpose (teleological) of achieving pleasure, our decisions should be based on consequences in pursuit of the principle of utility (consequentialist) and is a theory which judges each situation independently (relativistic). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bentham believed that all people were entitled to happiness, and thus each to count as one and no one as more than one. However, there were many obvious faults in this theory; for example, eating a chocolate bar is subjective to people who like and dislike chocolate therefore not every action has equal pleasure and pain for every person. John Stuart Mill, a fellow colleague of Jeremy Bentham criticised him for developing a Swine theory as it encouraged people to be selfish and recognizes no higher purpose for life other than the mere pursuit of pleasure. Mill was concerned that one person s unhappiness could be entirely overlooked if the majority were happy. Unlike Bentham, Mill focused on differentiating the quality of pleasure and thus introduced a new theory of utility called Rule Utilitarianism which acted as a general guideline that achieved happiness without discriminating. Mill s definition of happiness was tended to the spiritual and culture side rather than just physical. He distinguished between Higher and lower pleasures, higher pleasures were in pleasures in tune with the mind such as reading and poetry and lower pleasures tended to physical needs to do with the body like sex and eating. Mill stated that lower pleasures are more easily accomplishable and thus have to be completed before satisfying the intellectual needs of the mind. Network Performance Quality Of Service Project Report The aim of this project is to investigate and implement a standardised way to monitor and improve quality of service for a user with devices connected to the internet of things. Although there are several papers referring to the need for this, any implementation has been on an ad hoc bases for specific devices/issues and not rolled out as a standard approach. The approach this project is taking is to implement an algorithm which will monitor a network and work to improve its quality or service through different protocols. It will not be specific to just one application and the end goal would be the algorithm working with all types of IoT devices and handle a range of issues. 2.The Problem Network performance Quality of Service (QoS) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is therefore interesting that this area remains to be unstandardized today. The researcher in this paper proposes that the problem is responded to by a QoS architecture based on IoT layered structure. This architecture sets QoS agent in lower layers then transmits QoS requirements, trying to guarantee the consistency as well as effectively use the existing QoS mechanisms in every layer. (Duan, Chen and Xing, 2011) Other research suggests that the integration between IoT and other technologies such as Cloud Computing is in its infantile phase and it has not been extended to all application domains due to its inadequate quality of service architecture. (T, S and A, 2015) . We see here the lack of QoS in the IoT also has an impact on the future and extendibility of the IoT. Within this area of QoS, which continues to be actively researched, there is still a gap in any currently available solution. This project aims to contribute to this gap. 3.The Proposed Solution The proposed solution is to develop a protocol, a set of rules, to monitor application performance and the real time state of the network in the Internet of Things (IoT). The objective of this ruleset is to achieve Quality of Service (QoS) from the network perspective and Quality of Experience (QoE) from the user perspective. Many people know the history of the lightbulb and who created; however, many people like myself have little to no knowledge about the creator of the television, when it was created, and the purpose of it. This paper will discuss the history of TV, manufacturing companies behind this magical device, consumer profile on the users of it, global application, marketing strategies used to sell the product, and future predicaments on the technological advances in the upcoming years. Keywords: Television, consumers, device, technology, history, marketing, manufacture, product, worldwide, and future. My topic of choice is the television. I chose to write about it because it is the only technological device my family does not use. Although we have a television, it is never on because other companies like Netflix and news sites on the internet are taking over people s interest considering it is much more portable. I thought it would be interesting to learn about the history of TV and the future of it. I have witnessed how television screens went flat. According to Rowley, Lujan, Dolenece (1997), strategic planning is an optimization process within an organization to maintain the essential components of it. In strategic planning, it is important to consider the stability between the organization and the environment that is changing by developing a practical process that comply organization s future needs as well as achieving its goals (Peterson, 1999). Higher education s environment has been changing in the past 25 years due to economic change, policy change, rise of social expectations, complexity of the management, and new leaderships (Manning, 2012). The evolution and complexity of higher education requires more sophisticated strategic planningmodels with focus on the mission and vision of the organization as well as the changing environment. In this paper, we will discuss different strategic models that have been used in higher education. Further, we will design and develop a 5 year strategic plan for La Serra University s career center, by looking at UCR and Cal Baptist University career center as an example. The Relationship Between Coriolanus and Volumnia The speech patterns of Coriolanus reveal the title character s psychological turmoil. Churning with self doubt about his determination, his relationship with those around him, and his relationship with his mother, Coriolanus is a man at the mercy of his environment. The environment that shapes Coriolanus is the instruction he receives from his mother Volumnia.1 In his relationship with his mother, Coriolanus plays the weak and subservient role. (1.3.20 21). Thus the pride that Coriolanus derives from his own wounds and wounded body is a product of his mother s pride in having a wounded son. The pride that Volumnia procures from her son s victories and injuries winds up reflecting itself on Coriolanus who describes these victories and wounds with equal pride. By the end of the first act, Volumnia s descriptions of mothering demonstrate the warlike spirit she has channeled into her raising of Coriolanus. The imagery she uses in Act 1 Scene 3 also separates her from the other women in the play. Volumnia speaks of blood, swords, and death, while women like Virgilia speak of sewing and butterflies. • 39. Treatment Of Women In The Taming Of The Shrew The Taming of the Shrew written by William Shakespeare obtains various interpretations that are viewed as debatable. The novel involves men attempting to ask for Baptista s blessing to marry his youngest daughter, Bianca. However, the oldest daughter Katherine was not fancied by most men because of her blunt personality and feisty attitude. Many readers, especially feminists, argue that the Taming of the Shrewrevolves around the idea of how men oppress women by the way men find Kat s attitude as unappealing, how Petruchio attempts to tame Kat, and at the end of the novel when the three married men challenge each other to see which wife is the most obedient. Kehler s Statement on What is Expected of Women The youngest sister, Bianca, was adored by dozens of men because she was quite the opposite of her older sister, Katherine. Katherine came off as harsh because she spoke whatever was on her mind which is why men preferred to ask for Bianca s hand in marriage. Bianca was obedient and most importantly kept her thoughts to herself. Bianca s soft and quiet personality did not threaten men in the slightest; therefore, the line to ask for her hand in marriage grew.
