How To Create Suspense In Rattarake
RATTLESNAKE is a very compelling action thriller with a hit of a modern western. The plot keeps
the audience engaged.
The goal is clear and the stakes are deadly. The tone is gritty. There are solid themes about second
chances and survival. The perceived protagonist has to overcome many obstacles to survive. There s a
feeling of a nicely crafted ticking clock tension. The action is also well constructed. There s good
visual storytelling, such as when Marcos is shot.
The script uses some of the techniques that make for a compelling thriller, including an isolated
setting, being cut off from communication, the sense of being stalked, and the threat of being harmed
or killed.
There s really a lot to like about this script, but in every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Granted, the bottle she hides in the opening is a plant that is later paid off.
Also, to make Claire a stronger character, give her more inner conflict and struggle about her
stepfather and/or mother. This is touched upon, but not fully developed. In addition, give Claire a fear
i.e. spiders or snakes. The snake is foreshadowed, but it s not clearly established that this is an
overwhelming fear for Claire and that she will have to overcome this fear in the climax to defeat the
foe. Remember, what works best in these types of stories are when the hero or heroine has to
overcome their inner fears, before they can defeat the foe. So if Claire has a strong fear of spiders or
snakes, in the climax she will have to be seen overcoming this. For example, the totem that she uses to
attack Ajax with might be next to a snake.
However, if indeed Hank is truly the main protagonist and hero, then set up the robbery, the digging
scene and then transition directly to the ranch, revealing Hank working there. Introduce the other
characters at the ranch including, perhaps even Claire as to not confuse the audience about the true
protagonist. She can still be from a rehab.
Or make the scene at the rehab brief as, again, not to confuse the audience about the true protagonist.
Consider moving up the catalyst when they find Ricky s body and then Marcos is shot. Don t spend
too much time setting up each character or this will slow the pace (examples Ricky and

Argument Against Immigration
Picture rallies people chanting We are one holding signs saying Gente con Derechos Humanos or
better yet No Human Being is Illegal . But, what are the chosen candidates?? NOTHING!!!! But yet
aren t we the people of America? Aren t we supposed to be able to decide How America should be
made? So the question is what is the national action toward immigration? Or better yet how does the
nation feel about immigration? According to Center for American Progress information from five
recent polls from Fox News to Latino Decisions Americans support smart solutions to immigration
reform and reject deportation. But how? It s says that Americans support a pathway to citizenship for
people who are part of our communities, learn English, payback taxes and they reject tearing these
families apart. This has a personal effect to many people including myself because there are families
being separated daily, being accused as criminals, illegal but yet not knowing the purpose for coming
to America. This drastically affects families. How? It affects The USA, Immigrants, and their children
but there is also ways to prevent deportation.

Pillbug Lab Report
Background Information: This experiment was performed using the crustacean Armadillidium
vulgare, also known as the pillbug. Pillbugs mate in the spring, and it takes several weeks for their
fertilized eggs to hatch. After hatching the offspring spend an additional six weeks in a pouch under
the female pillbug. Pillbugs eat dead and decaying organic matter, so they are often found in dark
damp places. Another reason they like damp places is because they have gills that must be kept moist.
The gills are located on the thorax, which is covered by large exoskeleton plates. The thorax is also
where the pillbug s seven pairs of legs are located. The pillbug also has the nickname roly poly, this is
because the pillbug has a defensive mechanism where it rolls into a tight ball, using the large
exoskeleton plates of its thorax to protect its head and underside. Purpose: ... Show more content on

The Effects Of Scorpions
2) Similar to humans, animals have preferences in their diet, whether that be carnivorous, piscatorial,
etc. However, while our food choices, are choices, for most animals, it is innate, evolutionary or
simply has to do with access. For instance, a dessert snake like the inland taipan wouldn t be
piscatorial because there are no fish in the desert. In addition to food choices and consumption limits,
setting is also a hypothesized reason for the uneven distribution of venom effectiveness in different
species. In other words, while venoms and the various types of toxins within those venoms are going
to be harmful to most species, the ones whom are common in their habitat will be the most effected by
their specific toxin. (Casewell, et.al ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3) Separate file attatched
4) Every species is not venomous or poisonous, instead the inhabitance of toxins belongs to a special
group of individuals who inhabit a toxin or cocktail of toxins they use to protect themselves and
ensure survival. Moreover, as we know, venom is an expensive trait to have and maintain, it is labor
intensive for the species themselves, and they have to have a place to store the venom and an entirely
separate local for administering the venom to their victim. Although venom has proven to be
incredibly advantageous in scribing and eating, it did not just pop up. Instead, the capability evolved
from enzymes and genes carrying out other functions in their bodies (Case well et.al,), these old
functions often directly link to the target of the venom itself where some venoms derive from mutation
with immune system proteins or digestive enzymes. The most common of these mutations occur in
DNA, where DNA is duplicated twice folds as the original, and with that mutation the original
function is unaltered, but the new genes are able to distort the signal and make proteins elsewhere.
Once these mutations take place, natural selection begins to come into play. If these newly mutated
genes begin to create proteins or enzymes populated in the mouth, and these enzymes get into a prey s
womb after it is bit, and the prey is

The Dream Team Of Quality Management
W. Edwards Deming and Joseph Juran, at times are considered the Dream Team of quality
management in the workplace. Along with Edward Deming and Joseph Juran, Crosby forms the troika
of management gurus who made quality the buzzword in corporate USA, Europe and Japan in the
1970s and 1980s. MANAGEMENT: Beyond zero defects. (1998) W. Edward Deming, Joseph Juran
and Philip Crosby at one time or another have been described by the Japanese as being among their
greatest teachers in the quality control movement. As with any specialty, the TQM field is populated
by hundreds of experts, self proclaimed and otherwise, whose publicists refer to them as
internationally known consultants. For the bluffer s purposes, however, there are only five names
worth committing to memory: Deming, Juran, Feigenbaum, Philip B. Crosby and Kaoru Ishikawa.
Zemke, R. (1993) W. Edwards Deming an icon of the quality movement, an American statistician,
educator, and consultant, whose advocacy of quality control methods in industrial production aided
Japan s economic recovery after World War II and spurred the subsequent global success of many
Japanese firms. Deming arrived in Japan to assist United States military occupation forces prepare for

The City Of Arvada And The City Of Compton
The two cities selected for this report are to include the city of Arvada and the City of Compton. Both
coming from a long distance, the reports and statistical number between the two are jaw dropping. The
major broad topics that will be focused on will include but not limited to population, education, and
wealth statistics such as poverty level and income level.
The first city selected for this report is found just north west of the capital of Colorado. The city of
Arvada, was founded in 1870 and incorporated in 1904. A brief history and statistic on the city of
Arvada is that the city has grown in population size tremendously. Arvada has boomed in population
size in recent years, for example according to the U.S Census Bureau the total ... Show more content

116,000 residents for its 32 square millage.
The second city also selected for this report is located just south of Los Angeles California, the City of
Compton founded on May 11, 1888 was the eighth city to be incorporated. A brief history on Compton
and its population is that according to the U.S Census Bureau in 2010, the total population size was at
96,455 residents. This number of residents is lower than what was expected to see in California. After
further investigation in the website, after five year span in 2015, the population of Compton raised to
97,955 residents. Although the smaller population growth isn t what it seems to be like in Arvada
Colorado. But in 2016 in Compton California the total population size decreased to 97,550 residents.
A decrease in 400 residents within the one year span. Both cities roughly over 1,000 miles apart do
share some similarities and differences between them.
The first pivotal concept between the two cities is on education. Education is key to moving up within
the world. Being more educated in this life means that you gain status, and gain power. Education is a
solution for many problems that may arise in the future and have a significant impact on various
studies including incarceration rate. Nonetheless, the data found on the percentage of high school
graduates between these two cities is very important

The Gothic genre explores dark and secretive events that challenge the reader themselves and this is
highly shown in the novel Century, written by Sarah Singleton. In this novel the characters face a

to discover new things about her family s past and all the events that have occurred, but Trajan isn t

Horatio Alger Ragged Dick Summary
Introduction During the gilded age, the definition of American was in question. The rapidly increasing
number of immigrants did not help with this already pressing issue. African Americans and Native
Americans were demanding equality, while white Americans were fighting for Americanization.
Whites made classes, programs, and ceremonies to force the immigrants to assimilate to the American
lifestyle including language, religion and culture. Many believed that you could be a true American
only if were Anglo Saxon or native born. Evolution was used as an excuse for whites to be
supremacists because they were the fittest meant for survival while every other race was beneath

Logical Data Model
Part 2: Logical Data Model and its DBMS Products:
2.1 Logical Data Model:
A logical data model is a data model for a particular problem are presented related to a specific data
management technology. Without being specific to a particular DBMS product, it describes the data as
much as details (Watt and Eng 2014). As we mentioned before, there is another type of DBMS
involved in the logical data model such as hierarchical data model and network data model, which will
be discussed in the following.
2.2 Hierarchical data models and its products:
Hierarchical data model suggests that if the relationships between data in the database are established
that one data item could be described as the subordinate of another one. Products based on ... Show

2.3 Network data models and its products:
Network DBMS is a database that describes a flexible way of presentation in forms of objects and
their relationships, which was created by Charles Bachman and improved into standard form in
1961(Watt and Eng 2014).
The Frist product based on network data model is Raima Database Manager (RDM). RDM is an
embedded database management system that can be used in embedded systems. It was created by
Raima Company in 1984 and it was one of the first microcomputer network model database
management, which is provided for C language applications (RAIMA 2017). The most recent
functions involve database mirroring use to support highly available (HA) systems, database
replication, multi version concurrency with read only transactions and etc. (RAIMA 2017). RDM
Server includes the following functional features. First, it is a kind of transaction file server that
supports the processing and managing of database files on a given medium (RAIMA 2017), which can
also be considered as a database controller. Second, its database unions provide a consistent view of
various identically structured databases(RAIMA 2017), which providing a single appearance of the
large database. This could increase the processing capacity. Another feature could be introduced is
encryption (RAIMA 2017). RDM requires all data to be encrypted before it is transferred through a
network and enter the database files, which ensure the security of the

Reflection On The Republican Party
A little over two years ago, the Republican Party surprised me by electing its first African American
chairman. I would have never thought that it would happen and many had their own ideas why.
Whatever the reason, that was now the case and history was made. Not being of this party, I can not
speak directly to the affect he had on this party but what I can say is how much of his election made
me begin to see both parties moving forward and America finally beginning to turn the page on race
relations. I knew that we still have a very long way to go to finally putting race relations in our

U.s. And Global Economy
In 2008 the U.S. and global economy confronted one of the worst crisis in the history. These financial
crisis were considered the worst since the great depression in 1930 s. Several events took a place early
in 2007 which led to the economy crash, such as, the massive decrease in home prices in the United
States after it was significantly high. This decline in home mortgage market expanded rapidly causing
massive crisis in the whole United States financial sector (Bullard, Neely, and Wheelock 2 4). Those
crisis had dangerous effects on the stock banking industry, insurance firms, and Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac, the two most important enterprises commissioned by the government to assist mortgage
lending, and some other mortgage lenders and financial service organizations. Those crisis generated a
decline in banks and financial associations trust of others, believing that they will never get paid back.
They simply stopped offering loans to people who needed money to buy a house or start a business,
which created a massive decline in the home mortgage market and the whole financial sector of the
United States (Havemann 1) There are number of issues which are believed to be the reason behind
the home mortgage market crisis that occurred in 2008. Firstly the housing bubble , the home
mortgage market problem which our economy is suffering from right now. It started with the bursting
of the U.S. housing bubble which started in 2001 and reached its highest in 2005. The

Business Needs Of Mr. Smith s Bakery Essay
ntroduction:
In this project, we address the business needs of Mr.Smith s Bakery. This business is a bakery that
deals mostly with larger orders meant for parties, restaurants and large events. The bakery is primary a
business to business entity and customers call ahead to place orders. These orders are generally a bulk
order of a few products. Although the bakery is fictitious, this sort of business exist and is very
common way to operate a bakery. With the hassle of trying to keep paper and Excel records on
multiple tabs and folders, an Access database was the ideal solution.
The business has four currently employees, including Mr.Smith. The product categories is extensive
but for the sake of the database, we only included a handful to demonstrate that the database works
and that the calculations are done accurately and timely. Each product has a few ingredients that
should be tracked so that Mr.Smith knows how much of each ingredients are needed, giving the
business a better estimate of what is needed and if they can fulfill the orders.
The process of finding out the business rules, developing the database and solving the problems is
shown in greater detail in the following sections.
Project Background:
Mr.Smith s Bakery is not a real bakery that any of us are aware of. However, producing large
quantities of products as demanded by large customers is the ideal way to run a large bakery. Running

The Abolition Movement in the United States Three very impactful leaders enter the minds of every

man who funded it all, Gerrit Smith. These men were undoubtably the most hardworking and well

the 1870s. The objective of the movement was to instantly put an end to slavery, discrimination and

He urged them to fight as hard as they could no matter what consequences they would face. Strike for

Corporate Law Case Study
Capital Pty Ltd is inquiring into the Commissioner of Tax s notice disallowing the tax deduction for

appendage of Eastfield Ltd. This being the case, it is necessary to examine the exact relationship
between Capital Pty Ltd and Eastfield Ltd and determine the likelihood of the courts lifting the
corporate veil.
Separate Entity

This is verified by the fact that all of the profits of Capital were to be distributed to Eastfield through a
dividend payment. Secondly, the subsidiary must be actively conducting the business as appointed by
the parent. Since Capital Pty Ltd was initially set up for the financing needs of Eastfield, and solely
used the workforce of Eastfield, this second criteria is met. Further, since Eastfield decided on a
strategic plan which called for a new corporate structure , essentially supplying the debt finance for
Eastfield, it can be said that Eastfield was the head and brain of this trading venture, thus meeting the
third criteria. Additionally, as Eastfield decided all decisions regarding this capital funding structure,
the 4th agency principle is met; whereby the parent company governs the venture and determining
capital structure. Since Capital earned significant interest income...from the repayment of the various
loans...undertaken by Eastfield it can be established that the parent company, Eastfield, maintained
profits through its own skill and direction towards the subsidiary. Lastly, the parent company must be
in constant and effectual control, which is confirmed by the fact that all the directors of the subsidiary
company, sit on the board of the parent company, thus establishing constant and effective control.
Through the above mentioned, it can be significantly argued that Capital and Eastfield meet all 6
requirements that

Why does fear derails a person s chances of going to confession? The sacrament of Reconciliation is
one sacrament that a lot of people have mixed feelings over. Some look at it as going to the Doctor,
while others simply avoid going. This happens due to fear. The fear of treated badly by a Priest or

The huge new lava flow originates from within the Kilauea volcano. It is gushing from a lava tube
exiting on the southeast side of the Big Island.
The tube was exposed when a huge lava delta broke off and fell into the ocean on New Year s Eve. A
lava delta is new land formed when lava cools and becomes solid. The collapse of this delta triggered
huge explosions and giant waves.

We re always watching for what the cliff is doing. Is it moving? Are the rocks rolling down the cliff?
Turpin said the latest flow is the biggest firehose event he has ever seen. Turpin has been viewing such
events for 30 years.
Park Service Has Restricted Areas For Viewing
On land, the National Park Service is responsible for the safety of visitors along the shore. It has
restricted the areas that people can enter to view the flow. However, Turpin said he frequently sees
people on the cliff edge where they shouldn t be.
The cliff edge is part of a large lava bench. Lava benches are ledges of land formed from cooling lava.
They sit on top of the original shoreline and can break off at any time without warning.
If people were on the edge as it broke off, they would likely lose their lives, Cindy Orlando said.
Orlando is the superintendent of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Areas along the cliff are now roped off and danger signs have been posted. Even so, people are still
going to parts of the cliff edge near the lava flow, Orlando said.
Park rangers have fined people who cross into off limits areas. However, it is nearly impossible to
prevent everyone from breaking the rules, Orlando

Liver Catalase Lab Report
Effects of Temperature on Decomposition of H2O2 by Liver Catalase
Introduction A countless number of chemical reactions occur in the human body at any given time in
order to carry out cellular processes necessary for continued functioning. These reactions can
sometimes result in harmful byproducts such as hydrogen peroxide or H2O2. Catalase is an enzyme
contained within organelles called peroxisomes that decompose the toxic H2O2 down into water and
oxygen gas. Enzymes are a type of protein that are catalysts of biochemical reactions, meaning that
they speed up the rate of reaction through various ways by lowering the amount of activation energy
required for each reaction. Each enzyme has an optimal temperature range at which it functions ...

Catalase is found in nearly all aerobic organisms, and one molecule can break down millions of H2O2
molecules every second. It works by first reducing a H2O2 molecule bonded to its active site through
taking an oxygen away with its Fe3+ component, which releases a water molecule into the cytosol.
Then, the enzyme will bond with a second H2O2 molecule and oxidize it by giving it the oxygen from
the first H2O2 molecule, releasing O2 and another water molecule into the cytoplasm. This catalytic
cycle then repeats indefinitely.
The purpose of this study is to test how changing the temperature of the liver, which was the catalase
source, would affect the rate of reaction with H2O2. If temperature increases then there would be less
O2 released because proteins denature when temperatures are too high, losing their shape and ability
to carry out their intended function.
Materials and Methods
For a detailed list of required materials, refer to the enzyme lab handout section C. The independent
variable in this study was temperature. The dependent variable was rate of reaction, measured
qualitatively on a scale of one to five based on the number of bubbles observed as the reaction took
place. The amount of liver and H2O2, the ambient temperature, and the observation time allotted for
each reaction were control variables that were kept constant throughout.
First, three small pieces of liver were placed into separate test tubes and covered with a small

The Essays On Physiognomy By Solomon Asch
The Essays on Physiognomy, written in 19th century, was a paper which tried to describe in a
scientific way how to understand in minutes the character of a person, based only in his physical traits
(Lavater, 1880). The paper, which was based in the same principles of phrenology, became extreme
popular; even if there was nothing supporting the unfounded conclusions of this essay, like the relation
between close eyebrows and stable personality! Still, the popularity of this paper shows the urge of
humans to create and trust quick impressions for others. A predetermination which can be so important

Additionally, he discussed order effects. Primacy effects were associated with the first items in the list
which affected impressions more, while recency effects had to do with the fact that the last items
affected impressions more. He also talked about the halo effect, in which the positive or negative
evaluation associated with some traits spreads to others. Moreover, he supported that impressions have
structure and that the meanings of their elements (traits) depend on which other elements are present.
Implicit personality theory is a network of assumptions that individuals hold about relationships
between people, behaviors and traits. Research has shown that if we know or believe that someone has
one particular trait, this leads us to infer that they have other traits as well (Schneider, 1973; Selikides
Anderson, 1994). As we will discuss next, this very useful in cases individual try to create a positive
impression on others.
Research has also suggested that information which is initially presented is more powerful in forming
a general impression, either because new information about a person always means simply updating
the first impression which always stays there or because individuals tend to pay much more attention
to the information that we encounter first in order to form an impression, thus assimilating it better
(Anderson 1962, 1965).

Kelley Outbreak
The Kelly outbreak is a famous phenomenon in Australia s colonial history. Whilst some people prefer
to see the outbreak as a simple criminal incident between an outlaw and the police, most historians
view it as a broader sociological phenomenon, involving conflict between a larger rural community
and the colonial authorities. An important issue for historians has been to understand the underlying
causes of this criminal outbreak, whether it was mainly due to personal, ethnic or socio economic
factors. This essay will critically examine each of these explanations and argue that the actions of the
Kellys and their supporters, and the reactions of the police can best be understood in terms of broad
socio economic developments in rural ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These changes, he argues, could not fail to produce profound results , one of which was an outbreak of
social banditry 13 . Evidence from the period strongly supports such a view. The region was first
occupied by squatters during the late 1830s and 1840s, and was largely settled by 1847. By 1850,
several villages were established, there were good seasons and high wool prices .... 14 Between 1860
and 1880 several land reform laws were introduced, intended to halt the monopoly of the squatters by
creating a new rural class from the diggers now experiencing diminishing returns on the goldfields.
These laws made available small freeholds of pastoral land for selection by any man or (single)
woman over the age of eighteen.... 15 This effort to make land available to the new rural classes
proved a failure however. The government s and the selectors knowledge of agriculture, shaped by the
European experience, proved largely to be inapplicable to Australia .. 16 In addition, selection was
opposed and obstructed by the squatters who used their superior knowledge of land conditions,
political and financial influence, and evasion of certain regulations of the Land Acts to amass large
holdings of premium land, leaving poorer land to selectors. ... 17 This situation caused hardship and
poverty among selectors, and stock theft became an increasing problem as the selectors sought to
supplement meagre food supplies and income with stock stolen

HISTORY OF CHRISTIANITY II:
THE REFORMATION AND MODERN CHURCH
HIST 0562
INSTRUCTOR: REV. DR. RON KYDD 13th April 2015
Mail Box # 344
The Azusa Street Revival was a historical Pentecostal revival meeting that occurred in Los Angeles,
California and is the beginning of the Pentecostal movement. It was run by William J. Seymour, an
African American minister. It started with a meeting on April 9, 1906, and proceeded until about 1915.
The revival was portrayed by euphoric spiritual encounters joined by miracles, speaking in tongues,
inter racial socialising during worship services. The members were criticized by media and
theologians for their behaviour as it was considered as outrageous and unorthodox, particularly at the
time. Today, the restoration is considered by historians to be the essential push for the spread of
Pentecostalism in the 20th century. This paper will aim to analyze how history may have unfolded if it
had not happened, it will be examining the event and setting it in context that how it has impacted the
history of Christianity for the reformation and modern Church. It will analyze how this event impacted
the historic Pentecostal movement. Being born and bought up in Christian Orthodox Church, for a
long time I could not understand the real meaning of Pentecostalism, but things changed dramatically
in my life, and so did my theology about Church. Throughout the year I have learnt a

Narrative Essay On Electroconvulsive Therapy
I am not sure how many years I met with Sue, though my reference to years and not weeks already

need to dive in to understand what you are reading and only afterwards do the contents emerge. After

Asian Tigers Vs. South Korea
INTRODUCTION
The Asian tigers are four countries named Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. These
states were highly developed countries. These countries were the first states that shifted to
industrialization. All the four Asian tigers have a lot of people who are very educated and are perfect
in undertaking their tasks. These countries developed and implemented different policies and this
result in economic prosperity and tried to do them than any other state. For instance, Hong Kong and
Singapore became the masters of international finance while South Korea became perfect in
information technology. The four Asian tigers had maintained high economic growth since 1960,
fuelled by export to developed countries and rapid industrialization, which enabled these economies to
join the ranks of world s richest nations.
The four Asian Tigers turned out to be an imperative role model for many of the developing countries
and these countries include the Tiger Cub Economies comprising of Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines
and Thailand. Subsequent to the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis and the western Financial Crisis of 2007
2008, at the time there was a continuing decline in GDP (Gross Domestic Product market assessment

Crowd Behavior Analysis
35 students involved themselves in the rally. 15 of these students had rated themselves as shy. Eight of
those were rated as shy too by their classmates. We therefore had 8 students who we could, almost
with conviction, define as shy. This was particularly so since results of the instrument supported this
assessment. Special indirect observation was therefore accorded these 8 shy students to see whether or
not they lost their personalty, as classical crowd psychology asserted, under influence of the crowd.
The rally itself occurred for an hour between the times of 2.00 3.00pm. The excuse was of calling for
greater student rights on campus. I chose a topic that we thought students would be particularly
interested in. We also chose a time of day where students would not be too tired, nor did they have a
heavy workload of classes on that particular day. The march too was outside their campus so students
would not have to travel to it. We also attempted to chose a cool day. All these conditions were
selected with the intention of excluding any possible confounding elemetn. The students seemed
sufficiently motivated. Three of the eight shy students evidenced slightly louder behavior than usual
more extroverted with one carrying a banner and the others actually, to some extent, being caught up
in the engineered fervor. The others, however, seemed less disinterested with two actually walking
away minutes after the rally had started. Four stayed until the end,a nd the one who

The Inequality Of Power By Mary Louise Pratt, A Woman Of...
Does the power struggle still exist in the 21st Century and are teacher s encouraging the inequality of
power instead of addressing issues at school?
(Indent)In the past, countries like South Africa experienced a power struggle called the Apartheid.
White South Africans were seen as the Superior race and were allowed privileges that other races were
denied. Being born and raised in South Africa after Apartheid, where it is now called a Democracy.
The power struggle is still just as ripe and evident as it was back then, it is just in reverse. Now the
Black people are allowed privileges and the White people are denied them. It seems like only those in
power; wealth and literacy are heard out and are able to actually make a change. Today, a similar fight
for power is evident in classrooms, work places and all over the world. Mary Louise Pratt, a woman of
the Elite MLAAcademy presented a speech, Art of the contact zone to expose the students and faculty
to the contact zone. Pratt uses a very clever technique by starting off with the story with personal
illustrations and then leaves us dumbfounded by the points her essay makes about the inequality of
power. Pratt s explanation and emphasis about the struggle of power, past and present is completely
true. Although the contact zone is a great idea in terms of power being equally distributed between
people in society is, it s not feasible because people always want to have more power than the next.

Is Tribal Identification Is The Most Socially Salient...
Coethinicity argues that tribal identification is the most socially salient identity in Kampala, Uganda.
Based on a series of experiments, the authors of Coethnicity found that homogenous ethnic identity
was crucial to the pursuit of the common good based on the shared ethnic norm of reciprocity.
Contrary to this idea, I will argue that this assumption is empirically questionable and ultimately
unhelpful in the broader quest to understand how ethnicity and politics relate because there are other
factors involved that Coethnicity does not take into account. Before expanding on this idea I will first
offer a deeper account into Coethnicity s findings. Next, I will develop my argument using the ideas of
Burbanker, Bates, and Posner. With these accounts I will demonstrate Coethnicity over simplifies
politics in Africa and there other factors that should be considered like motivation and other external
factors.
Co ethnicty begins by developing the assumption that ethnic diversity provides the explanation for
failures of cooperation from members of different communities. Failures like, failing to launch
initiatives to fight crime, collect garbage, and maintain drainage channels in the Mulago Kyebando
ethnically diverse communities. The book takes this idea as given and then goes forth to explain that
Coethnics are more likely to cooperate as demonstrated through a variety of experimental games, such
as the prisoner s dilemma, in Kampala, Uganda (19). Ultimately their results

George Peter Murrdock Incest Taboo
The incest taboo has been rigid regulation that has been found in majority of cultures. The incest taboo
forbids the sexual intercourse or marriage between any types of kin. This rule appears in many
cultures or clan members and they emphasize that any relationship between family members is a taboo
and should not take part in it. However, there are also cultures that actually prescribe and allow these
types of relationships between close family members. This incest taboo is ultimately up to the culture
and how they perceive it. George Peter Murdock writes about his cross culture findings about the
incest, as do many other writers. Most of these writers talk about the origins of the incest taboo and
the positive functions for not part taking in any type of incest.

psychological dilemmas they present to the viewer will be discussed. In the style of Italian Baroque,
Genteleschi s version of Susanna and the Elders use of color is much more vibrant than Ruben s

Voltaire s Portrait Of Religious Figures In Candide
Prompt: Discuss Voltaire s portrait of religious figures in Candide. Voltaire made heavy connections to
religion throughout the story of Candide. The story relates mostly towards Christianity because of its
popularity at the time, but Voltaire also relates to Judaism and Islam. Voltaire focused on making a
mockery of each religious figure in the story.
Voltaire was a famous philosopher that was strongly against an organized religion. A quote from
Candide shows Voltaire curiosity of life in general. The quote states, But for what purpose was the
earth formed? He believed in a more open religion rather than a set religion in which you had to
strongly abide by. In Candide, the main character comes across many different religious figures in
which are depicted as corrupt. This includes the Inquisitor, the Jesuit Baron and the Protestant
minister. Voltaire depicts each of these religious figures as self righteous and morally corrupt.

Voltaire promotes that religion is what oneself makes of it. An example of this is shown by the sage in

The Garden Of Forking Paths Theme
The infinite is a concept that is difficult for man to comprehend, yet in Jorge Luis Borges short story
The Garden of Forking Paths he does such a fantastic job of describing this idea of infinity and its
effect on mankind through his explanation of a labyrinth. This short story also can be used as
somewhat of a lens while reading Fun Home by Alison Bechdel. Borges story begins with frame
narrative but both stories are, for the most part, told from a first person point of view. This aspect of
point of view is very helpful in supporting the idea of infinite possibilities and infinite universes. By
writing their stories from a first person point of view Bechdel and Borges give their readers a glimpse
into the idea that each action, however little that action or decision may be, always has a reaction that
can alter the outcome of a persons life drastically. Each action, can have different outcomes that
essentially leads to infinite outcomes in other universes. A majority of Borges story is told from a first

In Borges The Garden of Forking Paths he shows that perhaps there are many sides to a story and a
person should not just choose one and trust it entirely. Alison Bechdel promotes a similar idea in Fun

impossible to explain an exact outcome because there are numerous reasons why a certain result
occurred. While both of these stories explore completely different topics, they relate to each other in
underlying theme. Writing these two pieces in a first person point of view makes each character seem
somewhat untrustworthy, and this is why the idea of infinite possibilities is so relevant. It is such a
difficult concept to grasp and completely understand, however the infinite plays a much bigger role in
a person s life than they can even

5.3 Quality assessment Studies adopting a randomized controlled trial study design will be
categorised as the highest level of evidence, followed by cohort studies and case control studies. This
ranking was done according to Oxford Centre for Evidence Based Medicine s levels of evidence and
grades of recommendation [14]. It helps to determine level of biasness of the study and similarly
allowing a better critical evaluation of it. Other criteria taken into consideration would be the
objective, methodology, findings of the study and the support from reference work with respect to the
findings obtained [13]. 5.4 Data analysis The data will be

Pharmaceutical Industry Pharmaceutical needs have been a part of everyday human life ever since we
have walked on this Earth. It is a need that is demanded each and every day by different people, for
various medical conditions. It is incredible how the medicine today differs from the ones back then,
including the way it was advertised and the process of it being made. In the nineteenth century,
pharmaceutical companies used marketing tools through advertisements directly from the consumer to
producer, usually through newspaper ads. Originating in England, patented medicines made their way
across to America in the 18th century. A lot of the times these medicines contained ... Show more

This needed to be addressed immediately due to the amounts of different prescription drugs that were
on the street at that time. This is when the American Medical Association was organized. Starting in
1847, the goals of this organization were to improve the image of medicine and begin to gain control
over physicians and their qualifications. Between the years 1800 1840, the quality of education in the
medical field declined due to the fact that traditional four year programs were replaced by training in
medical colleges. The only issue with this is that once you graduated you were licensed, but the
qualifications of each physician varied so widely that there was a motion to have a national conference
in order to discuss and improve the American medical education. An important document that came
out of these conferences is the Code of Ethics that was infused with the American Medical
Association. This Code of Ethics consisted of three chapters. The first, was the the Duties of
Physicians to Their Patients, and of the Obligations of Patients to their Physician. Second was Of the
Duties of Physicians to Each Other and to the Profession at Large. And finally, chapter 3 was Of the
Duties of the Profession to the Public, and of the Obligations of the Public to the Profession. The code

Starship Troopers Quotes Of Father
Johnny Rico, the main character in the book Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein, is a very simple
minded boy, not entirely passionate about his opinions and easily conforming to what others tell him
he should believe or do. The people that guided him towards his goals, beliefs, and dreams, though,
were the several father figures displayed through the book. His actual father (i.e., Emilio Rico), his
high school History and Moral Philosophy teacher (i.e., Dubois), and his training sergeant (i.e., Zim),
were all the most prominent examples of father like figures in the novel by Heinlein. In making these
few people father like figures to Johnny, Heinlein puts a clear image of what the ideal father figure is
like someone who challenges their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the novel, Johnny trains and trains and Zim appears to be a strong and independant
character, but behind his fierce and individualistic nature, he shows a more solicitous side. In the
book, Zim makes a mistake during a training session that results in the flogging of a recruit private.
Acknowledging his fault, he requests a transfer to a combat squad to, in his own eyes, redeem himself
of that very fault. He even tells the Battalion Commander that he wished to the heavens that he could
have taken the flogging himself, also having of previously stated that the whole lot of them were a
nice bunch of kids and would turn out to be good soldiers. In saying these things, Zim shows a more
caring side, but still retaining his powerful image. Heinlein, having of written Zim to feel shame at the
consequences of one of his own faults being carried out on an innocent man, he shows that a father
figure should feel remorse when necessary, but remain strong and independant as the ideal father or
father figure should

People Must Be Their Own Individual Person
In today s society, people believe that they need to conform to other s ideas and ways. Conforming to
others takes away from being an individual. People need to be themselves and not like someone else
just because society says so. Fitting in with people is not always what it seems to be. Just because
everyone is doing it does not mean it is right. People should be who they want to be, not who they
think they need to be. Everyone should be their own individual person. Society today is full of people
who want to fit in with the so called popular people. Everyone thinks that the group is popular, so they
must have great ideas and thoughts. They might have some great ideas, but they might not be
everyone s ideas. People should not have to change who they are or what they think just to fit in with
people. Just because the popular group seems to be the group to be in, does not mean that is all that is
out there. If everyone stays an individual, there is bound to be people who have similar ideas. Do not
conform to what others say or do just to fit in. Everyone s thoughts matter even if there is some doubt
they do not. Following society puts people in the so called perfect box. The more people think like
others than themselves, the more they become immune to being an individual. Society has a hold on
people that may not be noticed. Everyone has an idea of the perfect person, which comes from society.
There are some instances where everyone has conformed to this one idea because

Analysis Of Blink By Gladwell
The message that Blink conveys is a topic called thin slicing, that is, decision making made in the
moment without much information or thought. Gladwell uses multiple scientific experimental cases
and real life experiences to show how thin slices affects us and how we can tell more about a situation
from a couple seconds rather than long periods of time. In the book Gladwell s structure is what, as a
whole, conveys the message itself. He talks about real life examples and expert analysis to show how
making a split second decision can be more beneficial that a well thought out plan. For example, at the
beginning of the book Gladwell tells of a new museum in California. The museum was in search of a
piece that would put them on the map .

Project 2 Identifying and Collecting Digital Evidence
1. What permissions/authorities should you have before you search Mr. Yourprop s former Company
work area, and how would you document that authority?
Generally speaking, an employer can search an employee s desk or work area without expecting any
legal repercussions. The desk is property of the employer, therefore the employee should not be
entitled to a reasonable expectation of privacy in their work area (Privacy at Work: What Are Your
Rights?, 2015). Even though this is generally the case, its best practice, by and large, to have ... Show

USB Flash Drives are also sometimes used as encryption keys for encryption tools such as BitLocker
Drive Encryption (Microsoft, 2015). To collect and transport as evidence, place the USB Flash Drive
into a static shock protective bag (U.S. Dept of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, 2007).
Document any make, model, or serial number designations on the device. The hard drive on the desk
would be a good third source of digital evidence to seize. Assuming this hard drive is used for
additional storage (i.e. does not have an Operating System on it), it would contain data similar to that
which would ve been on the USB Flash Drive: documents, images, videos, and maybe even some
software files. Documentation should be done on the make, model, serial number and type (e.g. SATA,
IDE, SCSI) of hard drive. For transportation, again, place into a static shock protective bag.
Remember to keep the hard drive away from anything magnetic as the platters that are inside the hard
drive are magnetically charged (U.S. Department of Justice, 2008).
3. Look at the photo of Mr. Yourprop s work area provided for Project 2 in the Week 5 Overview area.
Identify three (3) potential items of non digital evidence you see in the photo. For EACH item of non
digital evidence you identified, explain what potential use that item would be to your investigation
(e.g., what kind of evidence it is, and what type of data that item

How To Write A Narrative Essay On The American Dream
The American Dream
The sun is high in the sky and she can feel it as it is irritating her skin. Standing there staring at the
never ending desert with chapped lips, she is adamant to cross the Rio Grande River. As night time
arrives the coyote says, Are you ready for your American dream to become real? . All the immigrants
follow the coyote down through what seems like a tunnel, but one immigrant stops, a young boy, and
says, I am petrified. What if Immigration is waiting for us? . A young lady asks the child if he wants to
hold her hand; as they are holding hands they walk together along the dark tunnel. They come out of
the tunnel, but there is still more desert to walk. Finally, after walking for hours the immigrants spot a
house up the

The Core Arguments Of Hershey Company
The core arguments of Hershey Company in this case are very clearly stated. Senator Steve Hershey
used their company s Trade Dress on multiple campaign signs for multiple elections. In 2002, Mr.
Hershey was running for commissioner of Queen Anne s County in Maryland. He used a design for
his campaign that looked very similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper. The background was
brown, the lettering was white, and the font was bolded in all capital letters. In 2010, Steve Hershey
used a design that looked even more similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper than the one he had
used previously. This campaign sign had a brown background, white bolded font, all capital letters,
and included a white border. In 2014, Steve Hershey used a campaign logo with a two toned brown
Maryland flag background, his last name in all capital bolded letters, similar font, and underneath
read, state senate. Despite having the same name, Steve Hershey is not affiliated with The Hershey
Company in any way. The Hershey Company believed that Steve Hershey s use of their Trade Dress
could cause confusion amongst the general public. When the Hershey Company contacted Steve
Hershey for the first time in 2002, they wrote him a letter asking him to stop using the Hershey s
Trade Dress. In 2010, The Hershey Company contacted Mr. Hershey again and urged him to stop
using their Trade Dress, but they allowed him to use those campaign signs for the primary election
only. The Hershey Company and Mr.

  • 2. How To Create Suspense In Rattarake RATTLESNAKE is a very compelling action thriller with a hit of a modern western. The plot keeps the audience engaged. The goal is clear and the stakes are deadly. The tone is gritty. There are solid themes about second chances and survival. The perceived protagonist has to overcome many obstacles to survive. There s a feeling of a nicely crafted ticking clock tension. The action is also well constructed. There s good visual storytelling, such as when Marcos is shot. The script uses some of the techniques that make for a compelling thriller, including an isolated setting, being cut off from communication, the sense of being stalked, and the threat of being harmed or killed. There s really a lot to like about this script, but in every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Granted, the bottle she hides in the opening is a plant that is later paid off. Also, to make Claire a stronger character, give her more inner conflict and struggle about her stepfather and/or mother. This is touched upon, but not fully developed. In addition, give Claire a fear i.e. spiders or snakes. The snake is foreshadowed, but it s not clearly established that this is an overwhelming fear for Claire and that she will have to overcome this fear in the climax to defeat the foe. Remember, what works best in these types of stories are when the hero or heroine has to overcome their inner fears, before they can defeat the foe. So if Claire has a strong fear of spiders or snakes, in the climax she will have to be seen overcoming this. For example, the totem that she uses to attack Ajax with might be next to a snake. However, if indeed Hank is truly the main protagonist and hero, then set up the robbery, the digging scene and then transition directly to the ranch, revealing Hank working there. Introduce the other characters at the ranch including, perhaps even Claire as to not confuse the audience about the true protagonist. She can still be from a rehab. Or make the scene at the rehab brief as, again, not to confuse the audience about the true protagonist. Consider moving up the catalyst when they find Ricky s body and then Marcos is shot. Pillbugs mate in the spring, and it takes several weeks for their fertilized eggs to hatch. After hatching the offspring spend an additional six weeks in a pouch under the female pillbug. Pillbugs eat dead and decaying organic matter, so they are often found in dark damp places. Another reason they like damp places is because they have gills that must be kept moist. The gills are located on the thorax, which is covered by large exoskeleton plates. The thorax is also where the pillbug s seven pairs of legs are located. The Effects Of Scorpions 2) Similar to humans, animals have preferences in their diet, whether that be carnivorous, piscatorial, etc. However, while our food choices, are choices, for most animals, it is innate, evolutionary or simply has to do with access. For instance, a dessert snake like the inland taipan wouldn t be piscatorial because there are no fish in the desert. In addition to food choices and consumption limits, setting is also a hypothesized reason for the uneven distribution of venom effectiveness in different species. In other words, while venoms and the various types of toxins within those venoms are going to be harmful to most species, the ones whom are common in their habitat will be the most effected by their specific toxin. Although venom has proven to be incredibly advantageous in scribing and eating, it did not just pop up. Instead, the capability evolved from enzymes and genes carrying out other functions in their bodies (Case well et.al,), these old functions often directly link to the target of the venom itself where some venoms derive from mutation with immune system proteins or digestive enzymes. The most common of these mutations occur in DNA, where DNA is duplicated twice folds as the original, and with that mutation the original function is unaltered, but the new genes are able to distort the signal and make proteins elsewhere. Once these mutations take place, natural selection begins to come into play. • 19. Collapse Of Hawaii Essay HONOLULU, Hawaii A giant stream of molten hot lava is shooting out of a sea cliff on Hawaii Island. The lava is pouring into the Pacific Ocean. It is exploding as soon as it hits the water. Molten lava is rock that is so hot is has become liquid. It can erupt out of the mouth of volcanos. It can also pour out of natural tunnels known as lava tubes. The huge new lava flow originates from within the Kilauea volcano. It is gushing from a lava tube exiting on the southeast side of the Big Island. The tube was exposed when a huge lava delta broke off and fell into the ocean on New Year s Eve. A lava delta is new land formed when lava cools and becomes solid. The collapse of this delta triggered huge explosions and giant waves. Firehose Lava ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We re always watching for what the cliff is doing. Is it moving? Are the rocks rolling down the cliff? Turpin said the latest flow is the biggest firehose event he has ever seen. Turpin has been viewing such events for 30 years. Park Service Has Restricted Areas For Viewing On land, the National Park Service is responsible for the safety of visitors along the shore. It has restricted the areas that people can enter to view the flow. However, Turpin said he frequently sees people on the cliff edge where they shouldn t be. Even so, people are still going to parts of the cliff edge near the lava flow, Orlando said. • 20. Liver Catalase Lab Report Effects of Temperature on Decomposition of H2O2 by Liver Catalase Introduction A countless number of chemical reactions occur in the human body at any given time in order to carry out cellular processes necessary for continued functioning. These reactions can sometimes result in harmful byproducts such as hydrogen peroxide or H2O2. Catalase is an enzyme contained within organelles called peroxisomes that decompose the toxic H2O2 down into water and oxygen gas. Enzymes are a type of protein that are catalysts of biochemical reactions, meaning that they speed up the rate of reaction through various ways by lowering the amount of activation energy required for each reaction. Each enzyme has an optimal temperature range at which it functions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Catalase is found in nearly all aerobic organisms, and one molecule can break down millions of H2O2 molecules every second. It works by first reducing a H2O2 molecule bonded to its active site through taking an oxygen away with its Fe3+ component, which releases a water molecule into the cytosol. Then, the enzyme will bond with a second H2O2 molecule and oxidize it by giving it the oxygen from the first H2O2 molecule, releasing O2 and another water molecule into the cytoplasm. This catalytic cycle then repeats indefinitely. The purpose of this study is to test how changing the temperature of the liver, which was the catalase source, would affect the rate of reaction with H2O2. If temperature increases then there would be less O2 released because proteins denature when temperatures are too high, losing their shape and ability to carry out their intended function. Materials and Methods For a detailed list of required materials, refer to the enzyme lab handout section C. The independent variable in this study was temperature. The dependent variable was rate of reaction, measured qualitatively on a scale of one to five based on the number of bubbles observed as the reaction took place. The amount of liver and H2O2, the ambient temperature, and the observation time allotted for each reaction were control variables that were kept constant throughout. First, three small pieces of liver were placed into separate test tubes and covered with a small ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Essays On Physiognomy By Solomon Asch The Essays on Physiognomy, written in 19th century, was a paper which tried to describe in a scientific way how to understand in minutes the character of a person, based only in his physical traits (Lavater, 1880). The paper, which was based in the same principles of phrenology, became extreme popular; even if there was nothing supporting the unfounded conclusions of this essay, like the relation between close eyebrows and stable personality! Primacy effects were associated with the first items in the list which affected impressions more, while recency effects had to do with the fact that the last items affected impressions more. He also talked about the halo effect, in which the positive or negative evaluation associated with some traits spreads to others. Moreover, he supported that impressions have structure and that the meanings of their elements (traits) depend on which other elements are present. Implicit personality theory is a network of assumptions that individuals hold about relationships between people, behaviors and traits. Research has shown that if we know or believe that someone has one particular trait, this leads us to infer that they have other traits as well (Schneider, 1973; Selikides Anderson, 1994). Whilst some people prefer to see the outbreak as a simple criminal incident between an outlaw and the police, most historians view it as a broader sociological phenomenon, involving conflict between a larger rural community and the colonial authorities. An important issue for historians has been to understand the underlying causes of this criminal outbreak, whether it was mainly due to personal, ethnic or socio economic factors. This essay will critically examine each of these explanations and argue that the actions of the Kellys and their supporters, and the reactions of the police can best be understood in terms of broad socio economic developments in rural ... RON KYDD 13th April 2015 Mail Box # 344 The Azusa Street Revival was a historical Pentecostal revival meeting that occurred in Los Angeles, California and is the beginning of the Pentecostal movement. It was run by William J. Seymour, an African American minister. It started with a meeting on April 9, 1906, and proceeded until about 1915. The revival was portrayed by euphoric spiritual encounters joined by miracles, speaking in tongues, inter racial socialising during worship services. The members were criticized by media and theologians for their behaviour as it was considered as outrageous and unorthodox, particularly at the time. We therefore had 8 students who we could, almost with conviction, define as shy. This was particularly so since results of the instrument supported this assessment. Special indirect observation was therefore accorded these 8 shy students to see whether or not they lost their personalty, as classical crowd psychology asserted, under influence of the crowd. The rally itself occurred for an hour between the times of 2.00 3.00pm. The excuse was of calling for greater student rights on campus. I chose a topic that we thought students would be particularly interested in. We also chose a time of day where students would not be too tired, nor did they have a heavy workload of classes on that particular day. The march too was outside their campus so students would not have to travel to it. We also attempted to chose a cool day. Three of the eight shy students evidenced slightly louder behavior than usual more extroverted with one carrying a banner and the others actually, to some extent, being caught up in the engineered fervor. Does the power struggle still exist in the 21st Century and are teacher s encouraging the inequality of power instead of addressing issues at school? (Indent)In the past, countries like South Africa experienced a power struggle called the Apartheid. White South Africans were seen as the Superior race and were allowed privileges that other races were denied. Being born and raised in South Africa after Apartheid, where it is now called a Democracy. The power struggle is still just as ripe and evident as it was back then, it is just in reverse. Now the Black people are allowed privileges and the White people are denied them. It seems like only those in power; wealth and literacy are heard out and are able to actually make a change. Today, a similar fight for power is evident in classrooms, work places and all over the world. Based on a series of experiments, the authors of Coethnicity found that homogenous ethnic identity was crucial to the pursuit of the common good based on the shared ethnic norm of reciprocity. Contrary to this idea, I will argue that this assumption is empirically questionable and ultimately unhelpful in the broader quest to understand how ethnicity and politics relate because there are other factors involved that Coethnicity does not take into account. Before expanding on this idea I will first offer a deeper account into Coethnicity s findings. Next, I will develop my argument using the ideas of Burbanker, Bates, and Posner. With these accounts I will demonstrate Coethnicity over simplifies politics in Africa and there other factors that should be considered like motivation and other external factors. Co ethnicty begins by developing the assumption that ethnic diversity provides the explanation for failures of cooperation from members of different communities. Failures like, failing to launch initiatives to fight crime, collect garbage, and maintain drainage channels in the Mulago Kyebando ethnically diverse communities. • 39. Lksjfklfj Graydon Schunkewitz Professor Latourette April 15, 2014 Pharmaceutical Industry Pharmaceutical needs have been a part of everyday human life ever since we have walked on this Earth. It is a need that is demanded each and every day by different people, for various medical conditions. It is incredible how the medicine today differs from the ones back then, including the way it was advertised and the process of it being made. In the nineteenth century, pharmaceutical companies used marketing tools through advertisements directly from the consumer to producer, usually through newspaper ads. Originating in England, patented medicines made their way across to America in the 18th century. A lot of the times these medicines contained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This needed to be addressed immediately due to the amounts of different prescription drugs that were on the street at that time. This is when the American Medical Association was organized. Starting in 1847, the goals of this organization were to improve the image of medicine and begin to gain control over physicians and their qualifications. Between the years 1800 1840, the quality of education in the medical field declined due to the fact that traditional four year programs were replaced by training in medical colleges. The only issue with this is that once you graduated you were licensed, but the qualifications of each physician varied so widely that there was a motion to have a national conference in order to discuss and improve the American medical education. An important document that came out of these conferences is the Code of Ethics that was infused with the American Medical Association. This Code of Ethics consisted of three chapters. The first, was the the Duties of Physicians to Their Patients, and of the Obligations of Patients to their Physician. Second was Of the Duties of Physicians to Each Other and to the Profession at Large. And finally, chapter 3 was Of the Duties of the Profession to the Public, and of the Obligations of the Public to the Profession. The code seemed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Starship Troopers Quotes Of Father Johnny Rico, the main character in the book Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein, is a very simple minded boy, not entirely passionate about his opinions and easily conforming to what others tell him he should believe or do. The people that guided him towards his goals, beliefs, and dreams, though, were the several father figures displayed through the book. His actual father (i.e., Emilio Rico), his high school History and Moral Philosophy teacher (i.e., Dubois), and his training sergeant (i.e., Zim), were all the most prominent examples of father like figures in the novel by Heinlein. In making these few people father like figures to Johnny, Heinlein puts a clear image of what the ideal father figure is like someone who challenges their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the novel, Johnny trains and trains and Zim appears to be a strong and independant character, but behind his fierce and individualistic nature, he shows a more solicitous side. In the book, Zim makes a mistake during a training session that results in the flogging of a recruit private. Acknowledging his fault, he requests a transfer to a combat squad to, in his own eyes, redeem himself of that very fault. He even tells the Battalion Commander that he wished to the heavens that he could have taken the flogging himself, also having of previously stated that the whole lot of them were a nice bunch of kids and would turn out to be good soldiers. In saying these things, Zim shows a more caring side, but still retaining his powerful image. Heinlein, having of written Zim to feel shame at the consequences of one of his own faults being carried out on an innocent man, he shows that a father figure should feel remorse when necessary, but remain strong and independant as the ideal father or father figure should ... • 41. People Must Be Their Own Individual Person In today s society, people believe that they need to conform to other s ideas and ways. Conforming to others takes away from being an individual. People need to be themselves and not like someone else just because society says so. Fitting in with people is not always what it seems to be. Just because everyone is doing it does not mean it is right. People should be who they want to be, not who they think they need to be. Everyone should be their own individual person. Society today is full of people who want to fit in with the so called popular people. Everyone thinks that the group is popular, so they must have great ideas and thoughts. They might have some great ideas, but they might not be everyone s ideas. People should not have to change who they are or what they think just to fit in with people. Just because the popular group seems to be the group to be in, does not mean that is all that is out there. If everyone stays an individual, there is bound to be people who have similar ideas. Do not conform to what others say or do just to fit in. Everyone s thoughts matter even if there is some doubt they do not. Following society puts people in the so called perfect box. The more people think like others than themselves, the more they become immune to being an individual. Society has a hold on people that may not be noticed. Everyone has an idea of the perfect person, which comes from society. There are some instances where everyone has conformed to this one idea because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Analysis Of Blink By Gladwell The message that Blink conveys is a topic called thin slicing, that is, decision making made in the moment without much information or thought. Gladwell uses multiple scientific experimental cases and real life experiences to show how thin slices affects us and how we can tell more about a situation from a couple seconds rather than long periods of time. In the book Gladwell s structure is what, as a whole, conveys the message itself. He talks about real life examples and expert analysis to show how making a split second decision can be more beneficial that a well thought out plan. For example, at the beginning of the book Gladwell tells of a new museum in California. The museum was in search of a piece that would put them on the map . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. CCJS321 Project 2 Essay Project 2 Identifying and Collecting Digital Evidence CCJS 321 Digital Forensics University of Maryland University College July 18, 2015 Project 2 Identifying and Collecting Digital Evidence 1. What permissions/authorities should you have before you search Mr. Yourprop s former Company work area, and how would you document that authority? Generally speaking, an employer can search an employee s desk or work area without expecting any legal repercussions. The desk is property of the employer, therefore the employee should not be entitled to a reasonable expectation of privacy in their work area (Privacy at Work: What Are Your Rights?, 2015). Even though this is generally the case, its best practice, by and large, to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... USB Flash Drives are also sometimes used as encryption keys for encryption tools such as BitLocker Drive Encryption (Microsoft, 2015). To collect and transport as evidence, place the USB Flash Drive into a static shock protective bag (U.S. Dept of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, 2007). Document any make, model, or serial number designations on the device. The hard drive on the desk would be a good third source of digital evidence to seize. Assuming this hard drive is used for additional storage (i.e. does not have an Operating System on it), it would contain data similar to that which would ve been on the USB Flash Drive: documents, images, videos, and maybe even some software files. Documentation should be done on the make, model, serial number and type (e.g. SATA, IDE, SCSI) of hard drive. For transportation, again, place into a static shock protective bag. Remember to keep the hard drive away from anything magnetic as the platters that are inside the hard drive are magnetically charged (U.S. Department of Justice, 2008). 3. Look at the photo of Mr. Yourprop s work area provided for Project 2 in the Week 5 Overview area. Identify three (3) potential items of non digital evidence you see in the photo. • 45. The Core Arguments Of Hershey Company The core arguments of Hershey Company in this case are very clearly stated. Senator Steve Hershey used their company s Trade Dress on multiple campaign signs for multiple elections. In 2002, Mr. Hershey was running for commissioner of Queen Anne s County in Maryland. He used a design for his campaign that looked very similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper. The background was brown, the lettering was white, and the font was bolded in all capital letters. In 2010, Steve Hershey used a design that looked even more similar to a Hershey s chocolate bar wrapper than the one he had used previously. This campaign sign had a brown background, white bolded font, all capital letters, and included a white border. In 2014, Steve Hershey used a campaign logo with a two toned brown Maryland flag background, his last name in all capital bolded letters, similar font, and underneath read, state senate. Despite having the same name, Steve Hershey is not affiliated with The Hershey Company in any way. The Hershey Company believed that Steve Hershey s use of their Trade Dress could cause confusion amongst the general public. When the Hershey Company contacted Steve Hershey for the first time in 2002, they wrote him a letter asking him to stop using the Hershey s Trade Dress. In 2010, The Hershey Company contacted Mr. Hershey again and urged him to stop using their Trade Dress, but they allowed him to use those campaign signs for the primary election only.
