Ewe Genotypes
Genotype rather Than Non Genetic Behavioural Transmission Determines the Temperament of Merino
Lambs, is an article that poses the question of whether the genotype of a mother ewe, or the
environment of a lamb plays a larger part in the overall temperament the lamb develops. To find the
answer to this hypothesis, six experiments were conducted on the different lamb to ewe demeanors.
The four possible lamb to ewe combinations, include calm to calm (C C), calm to nervous (C N),
nervous to calm (N C), and N N (nervous to nervous). To further clarify, calm refers to sheep who are
calm, or untroubled when by themselves or around humans. By the same token, nervous is used in
reference to the fearful ways in which sheep act when they are either ... Show more content on

The arena test can be described by a pen full of the lamb s flock mates who are being guarded by a
motionless human (or an open field experiment used to isolate the lamb from the ewe and study their
demeanor). (1) Because of this, the test is determining whether the desire of a lamb being with their
flock mates, is stronger than avoiding the human. On the other hand, the isolation box test is an
experiment where the agitation of the lamb is observed, when they are placed, alone, inside of a
plywood box. Both of these studies share common behaviors of the lamb, which include the tendency
to bleat and jump, the number of times they jumped and bleated, and the number of squares they
crossed. From the data gathered from this table, it can be seen that the number of behaviors performed
between the non fostered C C and N N lambs differ exponentially. An example of this distinction, is
found in the number of bleats and tendency to jump. For the non fostered C C pair, the lamb bleated
53.7 times, while the N N pair lamb bleated an average of 88.6 times. Further, the C C pair lamb was
found to jump 167 times, while the N N pair only jumped an average of 16 times. This is such a
drastic difference between the two groups, which seems to negate the ideas that N N pair lambs are
more agitated easier and thus express these behaviors more frequently than the other pairs. After
examining the table, a pattern of behaviors cannot be found for any specific groups. This is true seeing
as though one pair does not constantly have more moments of reaction than each and every other
pairing and in the different categories. Due to this, an overall opinion of a lamb s temperament based
on their genotype, environment, and the experiments given, cannot be determined. Although there is
not a significant difference in which lambs were more content or nervous, it was

The majority of Starbucks sales were made with company operated retail stores, but also 15% of the
sales were made by specialty operations such as selling coffee beans to hotels and airlines or revenues
from licensing agreements. Starbucks also has a joint venture with PepsiCo and an alliance with
Dreyers Grand Ice Cream with whom they introduced the Frappuchino line. In 1995, when the US
market almost reached saturation, Starbucks Coffee International was forced to concentrate on
international operations. The strategy to enter a foreign market was mainly joint venture, in some
markets they also used licensing as entry strategy. In 1995 the first joint venture was formed with
SAZABY INC. to enter the Japanese market. More Asianpacific countries and later European
countries followed. Starbucks Mission Statement: Establish Starbucks as the premier purveyor of the
finest coffee in the world while maintaining our uncompromising principles while we grow. The
following six guiding principles will help us measure the appropriateness of our decisions:
Provide a great work environment and treat each other with respect and dignity.

Fission Vs Nuclear
There are many ways to fuel the world s needs for electrical power, but we acquire our needs mostly
from three energy sources: coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy (Cravens, 11). Yet from fossil fuels
the emission of carbon dioxide (~1400 grams CO₂ equivalent per kWh) and toxic waste produced
from the burning of aforementioned fossil fuels kills more than 20,000 Americans annually (Cravens,
13), while nuclear energy (and its outputs) have not killed a single human (as it is rather human error
that is the cause of the loss of life). One must also note the fact that if an American received all of his
or her electricity from fossil fuels over a lifespan of about 75 years, that person s pile of waste would
weigh 68.5 tons compared to the two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2013, a study conducted by NASA shows that nuclear energy has prevented 1.84 million deaths
from 1971 to 2009 with an average of 79,000 deaths (prevented)/ year from 2000 to 2009 (Kharecha
and Hansen, 3). Even if one were to include the death tolls from both Chernobyl and Fukushima,
nuclear energy ranks last in death per unit generated per year (see fig. 2). And although nuclear waste
is toxic and harmful to humans (as it can cause cancer and death), it is usually stored in a safe location
away from other resources and most importantly, away from humans. On the other hand, the toxic
byproducts of fossil fuels are being released into the air every day. And by reducing the amount of
fossil fuels burned, countless cases of cancer and lung disease as well as coal mining accidents have
been avoided. For as long as nations use fossil fuels, nuclear energy saves much more lives than it

Compare And Contrast Schweitzer And Semmelweiss
Treatment or prevention? Schweitzer and Theresa, or Snow and Semmelweiss? I am persuaded that
both sides are needful. Looking at the definitions of both terms, it is my estimation that both treatment
and prevention allows us to move towards a supplementary relationship between investing in health
education and the various aspects of preventative medicine, and the tremendous outpour of resources
that are devoted to medical care concentrated on reducing the duration and severity of diseases. In the
cases of contagious disease, some would argue in favor of one bad apple spoiling the bunch, while
others contend that if the bunch is cared for, we ll less likely see any bad apples. (). If we look at this
concern in terms of a family unit, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(). But I say that it is a blessing to be able to treat one because in treating that one, it will lead to the
treatment and preventative measures that will ultimately preserve the lives of many. We cannot have
one without the other. Society as a whole benefit from psychological interventions, social influences,
and biological mechanisms that ultimately manifest itself in the behaviors of individuals and how it
affects society. Individual therapy is supplementary to the primary prevention of the group. I believe
that prevention could be better utilized in the social arena. Technology has become just as addictive as
food or drugs. In unhealthy quantities, it can alter a person s health and the health of a community
tremendously. It can/has altered social engagement which directly affects the breaking down of the
communities that make up our society. So in the pursuit of social justice, we must look at the benefits
of treatment as well as prevention because both build on the backs of another s work...they

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Friend Essay
Many people define what friend is by their own definition such as a person attached to another by
feelings of affection or personal regard or people who are aware of how retarded you are and still
manage to be seen in public with you. people who make you laugh till you pee your pants. people who
cry for you when one of your special items disappear. when you dont have enough money to get a ice
cream, they chip in. knows all of your internet passwords. People who would never make you cry just
to be mean. For me, friend is someone who accept the way you are, someone who always cheer you
up, someone who always support you no matter your condition is. There are also two types of people.

never try new things that maybe also wonderful. Everything would be bored for you because you
always do the same thing and try the same thing. For example, you like to eat ramen only in Ikudo
Ichi, and your friend also eat ramen in Ikudo Ichi. Because both of you have the same taste and habit,
you always eat ramen there. You never try to eat ramen in other restaurants like marugame udon. If

Zelda Fitzgerald Essay
Zelda Fitzgerald
Zelda Fitzgerald began life looking forward to what it could offer her. A popular debutante and
success at everything she had yet to try enticed her to believe that she was infallible. It was only
during her later life that she realized that life, both physically and mentally, had its breaking point.
Though many things have been blamed as the cause of her mental breakdown, there is no specific root
to her problem. Diagnosed as schizophrenic in 1930, Zelda would be condemned to spending the rest
of her life in and out of mental health facilities, the place where she would take her final breath, killed
by a fire in 1948.

The doctor s surmised that Zelda s breakdown had something to do with their marriage and advised
Scott to stay away until her treatment was well established. Though they could not see each other
Zelda and Scott communicated through letters, and it is through these letters that Zelda s mental state
can be examined. Zelda s letters ranged in emotions depending on the state of her illness, and the
length of time of her stay at Les Rives de Pragins. In the beginning she seems despondent writing,
Every day it seems to me that things are more barren and sterile and hopeless (Bryer, 80).[2] Towards
the middle of her treatment Zelda seems angry with Scott, blaming him for her disease, To me, it is not
astonishing that I should look on you with unfriendly eyes, you could have saved me all this trouble...
(Bryer, 85). At the end of her first year of treatment Zelda s letters become more hopeful and loving,
reminiscent of the letters between Zelda and Scott during their youth. In one, Zelda writes, You are a
sweet person the sweetest and dearest of all and I love you as I love my vanished youth which is as
much as a human heart can hold (Bryer, 109). Soon following this letter, after a year and three months
of treatment Zelda was discharged.
Her discharge papers cited her condition as caused by, reaction to her feelings of inferiority (primarily
toward her husband...) (Milford, 190). Part of

Anthropogenic Noise On Cetaceans
Rays of pale sunlight pass through a gradient of cerulean blue. The wide open space seems almost
eerie until a humpback whale gently swimming sings his song, and the space fills with wonder, until a
disturbance arises.
Cetaceans evolved to use sound as their way of sensing the environment, navigating, foraging, and
selecting mates. Anthropogenic sounds have negative effects on marine life. Humans produce their
own underwater sounds through activities such as aircraft overflights, boats and ships (vessels),
tourism, stationary offshore activities, air gun firing, sonars, explosions, and methods to control
movement of marine life (W. Johnson Richardson and Bernd Würsig, 1997).
Many studies have discovered vessels as the main contributor of anthropogenic noise. It is difficult to
study the effects of anthropogenic noise on cetaceans because it is hard for scientists to see the effects
on communities in aquatic environments. Nevertheless, researchers are finding new methods to study
cetacean acoustics, which results in better details, but it is still hard to understand the long term effects
of anthropogenic noise on these mammals. Researchers need to conduct more studies and add to
previous data and results ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bottlenose dolphins will decrease their calls in the presence of certain vessels. Call rates decrease,
frequency and length of whistles increase, and creaks changed in the presence of ferries and leisure
boats. Dolphin whistles are a form of social communication. Vessel noise masks whistles interfering
with important social interactions such as mating and mother calf communication, it is hard for the
receiver to recognize signals. Dolphins use creaks in echolocation; changes in these creaks reduce the
efficiency of foraging. Short term vessel noise effects on foraging and mating may turn into long term,
affecting residency patterns (David Lundquist et al.,

Coordinate transformation
In rare case may be done a numerical solution in a Cartesian coordinate system.
For numerical simulations is used usually a curve coordinate system. In order to prevent of geometric
errors in solutions in finite volume methods, is necessary to the precise determinationof Surface
vector. As an example of an airfoilwhich can be describedwith difficulty the curve of airfoil by
Cartesian grid point and points lie within the airfoil. Figure 1.2) grid system
Therefore it is better to select a curve coordinate system. As is shown in figure1 2.
Due to this coordinate transformation increase indeed complexity of equation with respect to Cartesian
form but has many advantageous like improvement of efficient and accuracy in numerical method.
In the transformation from the physical domain to the computational domain, a one to
onetransformation is assumed. That is, a point in thephysical domain, say point A, corresponds to
oneand only one point in the computational domain, point B, and vice versa. Figure 2.2) Grid
configuration in physical domain (left) and computational domain (right)
Due to the transformation the transition from a curvilinear non orthogonal physical domain is carried
out on an orthogonal computational domain (Figure2 2).
Almost infinitely complex body boundaries in physical space are converted to rectangular plane in the
computational space.

U.S. s Influence on British Cinema Culture Between 1930 and 1980
Britain and America have always had a very close relationship that could have stemmed from a
number of different things. The English discovered America, they both speak the same language and
the fact that America helped Britain in the first World War may have played an important part in why
the two countries are so close. Due to this close bond or the special relationship between the countries,
over time we have influenced each other endlessly but perhaps none more so than the influence that
America has had over British cinema between the 1930 s and 1980 s.

More British film companies emerged after this act was passed to ensure that they could meet the
requirements. Two companies in particular, British International Picture and Gaumont Picture
Company emerged shortly afterwards to help provide the required number of British films. As these
British films had to be produced by a British film company, some of them were of low quality because
they did not have funding from America. British films therefore gained a reputation for being of low
quality and generally poor.
However this changed leading up to and during the second World War when people increasingly went
to the cinema to keep spirits high whilst everywhere else there was devastation. The war became the
golden age in British cinema despite cinemas being closed at first but reopening as a means of escape
from life at the time. The types of film that were shown ranged from comedies to thrillers such as
Alfred Hitchcock s The Thirty Nine Steps. It was during this time that the government realised how
much money could be made in the film industry and began to put more money towards making and
producing films. There were also a great deal of American films at this time but this was to change
after the war. Britain put a tax on all American films to

The European Crisis And The Transformative Role Of The Emu
How the EU responded to euro crisis and the transformative role of the EMU? That the incomplete
preparatory works in the initial period of the EU monetary establishment partly resulting in the euro
crisis, had revealed how unrigorous and incompatible mechanisms the EU institutions proposed and
conducted. There is no mechanism set up for addressing the debt crisis problem tracked back to the
time point when the euro was established, and thus resulted in the hastily drawn and agreed
emergency rescue plans, which were viewed unfavourable to the majority of EU countries as they
seemed merely synonymous with those bailouts. Based on this ambiguous and unstable solutions the
EU had provided, the worldwide disappointing impression had been created on the split opinions of
the larger countries that offered the loans regarding how best to save the crisis. In consequence, the
crisis had been prolonged along with the increasingly weakened EU confidence in international
markets due to the lack of decisive action. (Harari, 2014) As the most principle stance in EU monetary
architectures, the EMU has experienced an incredible institutional transformation under the
tremendous pressures not matter from the EU or national levels. In Dyson s (2000) observation, the
EMU s actual effects on European states began from 1 January 1999. However, the process for putting
its conditions in place can be traced to the European Monetary System (EMS) in 1979, since when the

Brokeback Mountain Essay
Movies can be divided in to so many categories nowadays and there are different reasons why there is
an emergence of these. One reason being that movies evolve with society and this is evident in the
way movies are presented from black and white to colored and now 3D movies. But we must also look
at how the different plots have evolved from the usual light home movies to mafia influenced movies
and now more socially relevant movies. As society evolves, so does our opinions and views on
different ideologies or concepts about life and our surroundings.
In the case of bisexuality, our cultures dictate whether or not we will accept it freely or with a little
opposition. This is most evident in the movie Brokeback Mountain which stirred the ... Show more

This practice is called aretē wherein two individuals seek the excellence that the other possesses and
in the process they are led to a union, even if they are married, that society accepts. Although in the
case of the movie and our society at present, this practice isn t accepted, we can see that people who
lived during that time have an open mind which people should have at present.
The emergence of this movie also shows us that there is an initiative on the part of film directors to
shape society s view on gays. Especially since a lot of people misunderstand them because they don t
take that initiative to see that they only differ in preference and not necessarily in their genetic
makeup. With this in mind it should also be noted that as these directors and other organizations make
those initiatives, people will be more likely to understand and accept others differences and eventually
coexists without prejudice and violence.
According to Heath Ledger when asked about what he can say about the movie, he said, It transcends
a label. It s a story of two human beings that are in love; get over the fact that it s two men that s the
point. This wonderful quote summarizes what everyone should take into consideration. The
bottomline of all relationships should be love. Whether that love would be with a man or woman,
everyone should give that level of respect because no one can dictate who the right one is but

Renaissance Horse Identity Essay
The horse once dominated human environments, permeating all of society during the Renaissance.
The popularity of this animal produced a unique and influential identity for the horse during this
period, and this identity constituted several parts. With this multifaceted identity, the horse received
new roles in human society. I am attempting to explain these roles of the horse and their effects on the
horse and human. By first explaining the context of the horse and rider of the Renaissance, I set up a
discussion of the specific changes the humans caused in the horse. The transformation of the horse
included changes in identity and perception along with a rider. This new identity stressed a greater
unity between horse and rider, and the reservation of this identity to the elite of society idealized the
horse and rider. Whenever artists and writers depicted the horse and rider, their united identity
associated with the most respected class in Renaissance society. This association caused the
widespread veneration of the horse and rider. Since this new identity constituted multiple parts and
perceptions, explaining each new part is essential to understanding the identity of the Renaissance
horse. Then uniting these identities describes the varied expression and perception of the horse more
clearly than leaving the parts isolated. Finally, I discuss the most important impact of the horse s
identity during the Renaissance and its implications. In this paper, I propose that the

and physically. Sports injury prevention is a program that will help educate students about how to take

One way that the body can be affected by infection is muscles weakness. The muscles become weak
because they are not getting the energy and nutrients needed to keep the athlete healthy. Another way
that infections can affect the body, is when they cause decreased flow of fluids to the body. This may
cause athletes to feel dehydrated or light headed while performing sports. The importance of learning
about personal hygiene because will stop the spread of bacteria, especially in contact sports. What
students should learn about in sports personal hygiene is to not share towels, razors, water bottles, and
equipment with each other. This can spread infections. Some ways to prevent infections are practicing
to wash hands frequently and thoroughly and taking care of the skin by taking showers daily to
prevent skin infections. In sports, skin infections are spread first by skin injuries, such as chafing, turf
burns, and abrasions. When not properly taken care of, the injury can get infected and turn into skin
infections. When teammates (especially in contact sports) touch the skin injury, bacteria gets passed
around which then spread the infections to other athletes, the same skin injury. This is why athletes

 Identify system parameters and recognize the symptoms, problems, and causes of organizational
ineffectiveness.
 Recognize the various techniques for gathering information from client systems.
 Describe the major diagnostic models and techniques used in OD programs.
 Apply a systematic diagnosis to organizational situations.
Diagnosing Problem Areas Why Diagnosing?
An organization need to survival or be very successful in the rapid developing socielty, it must have
flexibility and ability for rapid transfromation. For example, Downsizing and restructuring are the
ways to make an organization more effective, before downsizing and restructuring, the organization
must digagnose its departments, to see ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Surveys serve as information improvement tools, also the surveys are en effective communication
tool.
 Direct Observation
Direct obsercation of member behaviors and interactions.
 Interviews
Interviewing is the most widely used data gathering technique in OD programs. It is a very direct,
personal, and flexible survey, and is the only technique that provides two way communication.
The Implementation Of Data Collection
 Data collection begins with a decision about Who to obtain data from? and How many respondents?
 Data should be collected from several levels, from the top of the organization to down. Different
questions for each of them.
 The one to one interview is the most common data gathering method.
Diagnostic Models
 The Analytical Model
The organization is made up of different departments, if the organization want to be effective, all the
departments must be integrated into a unified effort. Which means departments in one organization
can not have different goals.
The tasks the departments work on can be examined in respect four characteristics:
1) The degree of the departmental structure;
2) The time orientation of members;
3) The interpersonal orientation of members toward others;
4) Organization members orientation toward goals.

Essay On Raynaud s Disease
Raynaud s disease is when the body restricts the amount of blood flow to various parts of the body,
such as the hands and feet. There are some factors that contribute to making this disease worse, but
there are also some factors that can help in making this disease more controllable. With the very few
known facts about Raynaud s disease, it is not a disease that should be overlooked for the fact it
affects approximately five to ten percent of Americans. (WebMD, 2005 2016).
When Raynaud s occurs, the body limits only so much blood flow throughout the body. The most
common restriction is in the hands and feet. Since the blood flow is restricted, this then causes hands
and feet to feel cold. There is a numbing feeling that could occur, that ... Show more content on

The most common reason why Raynaud s phenomenon occurs is because of exposure to the cold. In
the cold, it is normal for the body to narrow the small blood vessels to the skin and to open the blood
vessels to the inside part of the body to keep the body warm. But with Raynaud s, the body restricts
blood flow to the skin more than it needs to. (WebMD, 2005 2016). Other reasons consist of taking
certain medications, using vibrating power tools for a number of years, excessive smoking, having
emotional stress, caffeine, trauma, circulatory problems, drug use, exposure to some chemicals or
toxic substances, or having frostbite could be factors that could contribute to getting Raynaud s
disease. There are many triggers, but the basic cause of Raynaud s disease is still not known. There
has been a link established between Raynaud s and some autoimmune diseases. Raynaud s may also
signal damage to the blood vessels caused by occupational injuries. (Raynaud s Association, 2016). An
example of an occupational injury that has been previously discussed is using vibrating power tools
over the course of several years. Women are affected nine times more than men with this disease.
Researchers estimate that Raynaud s affects as many as twenty percent of all women in their child
bearing years. That is one in five women from their early teens into their early fifties. (Raynaud s

Vo2max Jump Rope Experiment
This study examined the effects of jump rope training on maximal oxygen uptake (referred to as
VO2Max). Previous studies show that jumping rope can also be used to develop the coordination of
neuromuscular skills, muscle strength, and cardiovascular endurance. It burns calories and builds
strength in the upper and lower body (Duzgun, 2010, pg. 184). The researcher hypothesized that these
benefits of jump rope training would result in an increased VO2Max. Before testing, a single
participant took a treadmill VO2Max pretest. The participant followed a jump rope training schedule
for six weeks. After training, the participant took a posttest. The pretest and posttest showed a
VO2Max increase of 1.1 ml/kg/min. These results indicate that jump ... Show more content on

twenty, thirty special effects shots to films that have over 800 special effects shots in them and more
and more you know you re seeing not just rear the films are using the technology but they are using
them in huge ways. So live action films are becoming more and more computer generated (McClean
2007)
Does the narrative matter? of course it does, so why do we need the effects? the use of the effects does
not mean that the narrative of a film is weak, the effects just supports and makes the narrative more
effective, once you have a good story in your head seeing it on a screen makes a whole different
perspective and therefore the audience reacts depending on how they can see it and how much they
believe it. Special effects are just a tool, a means of telling a story. People have a tendency to confuse
them as an end to themselves. A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing (Schickel 1983)
An example of such would be the movie Life of Pi , a film that was created using visual effects and
special effects to the point of winning oscars for such, if we think about it, I would hardly believe that
if the film was filmed in a back garden or in a outdoor/indoor swimming pool with a small boat and a
man dressed up in a tiger costume would have been as successful as it was.

Macbeth Weather Quotes
1. The Weather and the Setting
The weather is of a great importance, especially at the beginning of the play, for it informs not to
expect the good outcome of the situations:
First Witch
When shall we three meet again
In thunder, lightning, or in rain?
Second Witch
When the hurlyburly s done,
When the battle s lost and won.
Third Witch
That will be ere the set of sun.
First Witch
Where the place?
Second Witch
Upon the heath. (A1, s1, p.4)
The Witches are negotiating about their second encounter giving no possibilities for it to be during the
stable weather, therefore such meeting wouldn t make sense for the evil characters like The Witches.
Thunder, lightning and rain symbolize evil and ominous. Heath would be another useful device that ...

Crow and raven are also birds associated with dark and evil: Light thickens; and the crow makes wing

In Act I Scene 5, after Lady Macbeth reads the letter about Macbeth s first encounter with Witches and
their predictions, and Messenger informs her of Duncan s arrival to their castle that night, she says:
The raven himself is hoarse that croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan under my battlements. (A1, s5,

Part 1: Explain the function of a modern nuclear power device and process
The Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor (LFTR) is a type of molten salt reactor which will generate
electrical power through nuclear fission. LFTR s are a hypothetical and innovative solution to the
future of power production which are a viable replacement of the current flawed uranium reactors.
Using LFRS s as a nuclear energy source poses a number of advantages for the long run and short
term. Many countries such as China and India are currently heading towards LFTR s as a main source
of energy. The LFTR offers unparalleled safety features in contrast to other conventional nuclear
reactors, ensuring that incidents such as Fukushima will never occur again. Thorium, which is the
element used to fuel LFTR s, is three times more abundant than uranium (World Nuclear, 2015).
LFTR waste is also less biologically harmful as it emits alpha particles compared to conventional
uranium reactors which emits gamma particles. The radiotoxicity of waste across nuclear power
production methods can be seen in

Wild Hog Program Case Study
I. INTRODUCTION
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency s Wild Hog Program is leading transformational change
across the country. Most states dealing with wild hogs and the damage they cause are hopeless. Their
hopelessness is due to wild hogs being such prolific breeders and regulatory environments in states
don t allow for successful control or elimination of this exotic and destructive species. Thankfully,
Tennessee is an exception and TWRA s management of this species is being used as a model by other
states to base their management on. Thus, there is now newfound hope of controlling these problems
in most of the United States.
In response to criticism of TWRA s Wild Hog Program, the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury has

Outreach/education has been a priority, but these efforts continue to come up short at times and, as a
result, TWRA continues to face criticism from some of its constituents. Managing the WHEAT
partnership is also a challenge. Partners buy in is inconsistent at times and it is a challenge to keep
everyone informed, engaged and supportive. Likewise, enforcement of illegal transportation and
translocation of wild hogs is a continued challenge. This type of enforcement is very difficult even
with the best supporting laws and regulations.
Other challenges threaten the integrity of TWRA s Wild Hog Program. The popularity of the sport of
wild hog hunting is growing in the U.S and these activities threaten TWRA s wild hog control
strategies. Potential legislative comprises also pose a threat. For example, wild hog buying stations
could seriously erode the success of this program if allowed in Tennessee. Finally, greater enforcement
challenges relating to other wildlife species have resulted from the creation of TWRA s new wild hog
control regulations.
Potential improvements
The following are potential improvements for TWRA s Wild Hog Program:
TWRA could be delegated the authority to regulate the transportation of wild appearing swine;
allowing it to better enforce related illegal activity.
Avoid further legislative comprises and renegotiate the remaining

Sports Coaches Influence On Youth Sports
Physical activity is a large part of being healthy, especially at a young age. Participating in sports is a
very popular form of obtaining this exercise, as nearly thirty six million kids play organized sports
each year (Source 6). Coaches are extremely influential in the development of minors. They are the
role models for the children to learn and grow from. Most coaches are parents, almost eighty five
percent (Source 6). However, this can have positive and negative effects on the participants that would
differ from the effects of having a trained, unbiased coach. Many problems are evident when it comes
to coaching staffs for youth sports; many parents take on the task of coaching without knowing they
are unqualified, partial, and may damage their child psychologically. The qualifications for youth
sports coaches are often no further than a Safe Sport test involving abuse. However, there is very
seldom a test that analyzes the knowledge that the coach has about the sport or the basic first aid that
is related to sport specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When behavioral criticism is required, a child who is the coach s son is likely to react very different
from any other child. Many would consider their parent s criticism even less than their teammate
would because they are more comfortable being defiant to a parent rather than a different power
figure. This can result in interruptions at practice and games where a parent coach forgets that they
cannot just reprimand their child as though they were only playing the role of a parent, whereas if
there was a coach that was equally involved with each player, there would be no negative or positive
actions towards one athlete in particular. One specific reason that would make having an indifferent
coach beneficial would be that other team members would know that the coach is there for the team,
not just their child (Source

It was interesting watching the interactions between the players as they organize and time themselves
accordingly without a conductor. They all constantly made eye contact and used exaggerated body

directly interacted with the audience before the second piece, explaining the development of the
composition and stories of Haydn. This was evidently appreciated by the audience as it permitted
them to understand the piece better and appreciate the development of the melody more. Overall, the

piece. This radiated throughout the hall as the audience can feel the enthusiasm behind the
performance, allowing them to appreciate and enjoy the concert further.

How Did The Mexican American War Dbq
The Mexican American War helped change in territorial rights between Mexico and the United States.
For Mexico, the war was unnecessary for and was only fought to protect their land and the people
living in it. While for United States, it was seen as a conquest of gaining the land that they believe was
their God given right. The Mexican American war is seen as an imperialist war due to the developing
independence in Texas, America s imperialism resulting in Manifest Destiny, and its Post war
expansion. In 1830, After the revolt against Mexican authority, Texas desire of becoming its own
independent republic became stronger. This later turned into a full on battle for the Alamo and Goliad.
After winning these battles the Texian volunteers fought against the Mexican army, while this was

The Pike River Coal Mine
INTRODUCTION
The definition of a project is a complex one time effort which is limited by time, budget and resources
in order to complete certain objectives. If these characteristics are not met it results in project
management failure. An example of this is the Pike River Coal Mine tragedy which occurred on
November 19th 2010 which is located on the West Coast of New Zealand, where a series of methane
explosions happened resulting in the loss of 29 men s lives and 2 survivors walking away from the
explosions. This report will look into the project management failures which occurred at the Pike
River Coal Mine such as not completing objectives by certain deadlines which then would lead to
going over the financial budget and how the overall management of the project could have been
improved to decrease these failures. Also throughout the Pike River Coal mine project it highlighted
serval issues which may occur when dealing with the management of the people whether it being
individuals or team. This report will look at the theories of motivation and communication and see
how these theories helped contribute to the Pike River tragedy.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT FAILURE

As mentioned above an example of project management failure that occurred at the Pike River Coal
Mine was not being able to complete objectives by a certain deadline. This is shown by having an

Brick Walls In My Life
During his lecture, Randy said that throughout your life you will encounter brick walls. These walls
are meant to slow you down, but they are not there to stop your goals. The walls actually push you to
work harder in life to achieve those goals. Throughout life one will encounter failures every wear they
turn. Whether it is being fired from your job or failing a test. You will not go through your life without
encountering failure. In fact it is a good thing to experience failure once in a while. It keeps us humble
about life and it shows that not everything is given to us. Throughout my life I have experienced my
fair share of brick walls. Although I was able to overcome most of them, I still couldn t overcome one.
A few brick walls that I have faced over the course of my life include overcoming a death of a close
friend and family. However there was one brick wall that took me a while to overcome. About two
years ago, during a baseball game at home, I suffered a stage three hyperextension of my right knee
while batting. The pain was equivalent to having my knee dislocated. I had to exit the game and I
feared that my baseball season may be over. The following day while on a visit to the doctor, the worst
of my fears were realized. The doctor said there was possibility that I would not play baseball the
remainder of that season. Over the next couple of weeks, I had to undergo physical pain everyday
while trying to walk around school. It was so bad that it

Comparing Asexual Vs. Response To Environment
What is life? A question that sounds simple, but in reality is more complex and could be answered in
multiple ways. The focus of this will be comparing asexual versus sexual reproduction. Also, the
evolution and adaptation versus response to environment. And lastly, but not any less important is
homeostasis. Sexual versus asexual reproduction both have benefits and disadvantages. Asexual is the
development of a new organism forming from one parent. When an asexual organism has an offspring
their offspring has the same exact genetic material. If the parent were to have a disease the child
would automatically get the disease in their lifetime. An sexual organism has to mate to form and
offspring. Usually an sexual organism has to be a male and female together to produce. To produce a
new organism the egg and sperm have to meet. The genetic material would be mixed when the
organism is sexual and not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Evolution is the concept that one organism can grow into an adult and develop skills in their
environment. Adaptation is a feature that is common in a population. Adaptation can take in different
forms. Behavior of predators or temperatures that functions best. The form of an organism has to adapt
to a new lifestyle changing the way the may have been fated to evolve into. Both adaptation and
evolution have in common our an organism that grows mentally and physically or the environment the
species is in.
Homeostasis means in greek same and steady. Homeostasis a habit to want be stable equilibrium of an
organism. Homeostasis is needed for survival of all living organisms. For example humans need to
stay a temperature around 98 to keep the body temperature in this area it needs homeostasis to stay
stable. Sometimes the body is not stable for instance when the body runs a fever or gets the chills.

Schools And Classrooms Are Those With Special Needs
A1. One of the major diversity groups in this country in schools/classrooms are those with special
needs. You are probably guaranteed to have at least two kids in your class that suffer from learning
disabilities or disabilities in general. These students need special attention, from their curriculum to
the treatment of their peers. Special education students are spending more time in the classroom, not
just for educational purposes but for social purposes as well. Challenges that teachers face with these
students is making sure that they are included in the classroom on a day to day basis, and that they are
adjusting curriculum to suit the child s needs. More times than not the child will get the same work as
other students and it would be worked on either at the child s pace and graded accordingly, or taken to
their resource classrooms to work on it with their resource teachers.
Challenges that special education students face are not being able to understand or keep up with the
work in the classroom. They often feel separated from their peers or maybe even not being accepted
by their peers. The challenges they face such as wheel chairs, crutches etc may keep them at a slower
pace than the other students or get in the way when student are moving around the classroom. They
often are not with their peers, but separated into smaller classes so they are not as socially excepted as
other students.

Recycling Essay
Recycling
During the early 1970s, as communities across the United States saw their landfills filling up, attention
turned to alternative methods of garbage disposal, such as incineration and recycling. While
incineration proved to be a thorny issue due to its toxic ash byproduct, recycling was embraced by
Americans as an effective way to offset rising garbage production rates.
Today, demand for recycled products is beginning to match supply, and the percentage of waste going
into landfills and incinerators is decreasing steadily. In 1970, when Americans produced 121 million
tons of municipal solid waste (MSW), three quarters went directly into landfills, one fifth was
incinerated, and less ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many if not most of the products we use on a daily basis are made of recyclable materials, including
glass, aluminum, paper, steel, plastic, scrap tires and used oil. And the demand for goods made from
recycled products, despite a lot of ups and downs during the 1980s, has never been higher thanks to a
combination of well conceived industrial/commercial applications and much needed government
purchasing mandates. Indeed, the existence of markets for recyclables has contributed significantly to
recycling s success as a waste disposal alternative.
What makes recycling especially unique is its implementation by local people for local people. In
regards to MSW management, the federal government is relatively hands off, and state governments
have focused more of their attention on landfill and incineration options. As a result, local
communities have come together to initiate recycling efforts; the percolation of their enthusiasm has
led to the widespread acceptance and even encouragement of recycling at both the state and federal
levels.
With recovered materials demanding higher market prices and curbside collection and commercial
recovery on the rise, it is not unrealistic for Americans to expect to see nationwide recycling rates of
thirty five to fifty percent by the turn of

Sacrifice In The Little Mermaid By Hans Christian Andersen
The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen is certainly not a Disney movie. The tale is disturbing
the reality that the mermaid and human beings is totally from different world, which the story does not
end up with a happy ending. Little Mermaid is not Ariel; instead she sacrifices her freedom, her voice,
her family, her body, her identity and even her life to be with the man who does not love her and who
treats her as a slave girl. She is not a role model for modern teenagers because she sacrifices her entire
life and her dignity for someone does not value her sacrifice. Although her selfless self sacrificial love
may consider as a great behavior to some people, it is not worth for her to give up everything and be
with the one who does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because it is a weapon for them to lure the men. Andersen revels, Then she cut off the mermaid
s tongue, so that she become dumb, and would never again speak or sing (8). This shows her naïve
behavior, as she believes she can still enchain the prince s heart without her beautiful voice. Moreover,
she has a strong desire of being a human being as the author said, I would give gladly all the hundreds
of years that I have to live, to be a human being only for one day, and to have the hope of knowing the
happiness of that glorious world above the stars (6). This shows her curiosity of being a human being
for one day. Massengale demonstrates convincingly that the young fifteen year old protagonist has
been strongly influenced by her grandmother. She learns that she must suffer to gain a position in the
upper world and that she can never gain an immortal soul (Zipes 108). However, losing her voice
means nothing as she becomes ignorant that she is not able express herself anymore. This is because
Warner states the Little Mermaid sacrifices her song to no avail except for the story, which keeps faith
with her memory. Her siren song condenses all inherited belief in women s sexual powers; the Little
Mermaid surrenders them when she becomes bifurcated and bleeds, as if once the innocence of
childhood has passed, that very sexuality turn against its possessor and makes the young woman

  • 2. Ewe Genotypes Genotype rather Than Non Genetic Behavioural Transmission Determines the Temperament of Merino Lambs, is an article that poses the question of whether the genotype of a mother ewe, or the environment of a lamb plays a larger part in the overall temperament the lamb develops. To find the answer to this hypothesis, six experiments were conducted on the different lamb to ewe demeanors. The four possible lamb to ewe combinations, include calm to calm (C C), calm to nervous (C N), nervous to calm (N C), and N N (nervous to nervous). To further clarify, calm refers to sheep who are calm, or untroubled when by themselves or around humans. By the same token, nervous is used in reference to the fearful ways in which sheep act when they are either ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The arena test can be described by a pen full of the lamb s flock mates who are being guarded by a motionless human (or an open field experiment used to isolate the lamb from the ewe and study their demeanor). (1) Because of this, the test is determining whether the desire of a lamb being with their flock mates, is stronger than avoiding the human. On the other hand, the isolation box test is an experiment where the agitation of the lamb is observed, when they are placed, alone, inside of a plywood box. Both of these studies share common behaviors of the lamb, which include the tendency to bleat and jump, the number of times they jumped and bleated, and the number of squares they crossed. From the data gathered from this table, it can be seen that the number of behaviors performed between the non fostered C C and N N lambs differ exponentially. An example of this distinction, is found in the number of bleats and tendency to jump. For the non fostered C C pair, the lamb bleated 53.7 times, while the N N pair lamb bleated an average of 88.6 times. Further, the C C pair lamb was found to jump 167 times, while the N N pair only jumped an average of 16 times. This is such a drastic difference between the two groups, which seems to negate the ideas that N N pair lambs are more agitated easier and thus express these behaviors more frequently than the other pairs. After examining the table, a pattern of behaviors cannot be found for any specific groups. This is true seeing as though one pair does not constantly have more moments of reaction than each and every other pairing and in the different categories. Due to this, an overall opinion of a lamb s temperament based on their genotype, environment, and the experiments given, cannot be determined. Although there is not a significant difference in which lambs were more content or nervous, it was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Fission Vs Nuclear There are many ways to fuel the world s needs for electrical power, but we acquire our needs mostly from three energy sources: coal, natural gas, and nuclear energy (Cravens, 11). Yet from fossil fuels the emission of carbon dioxide (~1400 grams CO₂ equivalent per kWh) and toxic waste produced from the burning of aforementioned fossil fuels kills more than 20,000 Americans annually (Cravens, 13), while nuclear energy (and its outputs) have not killed a single human (as it is rather human error that is the cause of the loss of life). One must also note the fact that if an American received all of his or her electricity from fossil fuels over a lifespan of about 75 years, that person s pile of waste would weigh 68.5 tons compared to the two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2013, a study conducted by NASA shows that nuclear energy has prevented 1.84 million deaths from 1971 to 2009 with an average of 79,000 deaths (prevented)/ year from 2000 to 2009 (Kharecha and Hansen, 3). Even if one were to include the death tolls from both Chernobyl and Fukushima, nuclear energy ranks last in death per unit generated per year (see fig. 2). And although nuclear waste is toxic and harmful to humans (as it can cause cancer and death), it is usually stored in a safe location away from other resources and most importantly, away from humans. On the other hand, the toxic byproducts of fossil fuels are being released into the air every day. And by reducing the amount of fossil fuels burned, countless cases of cancer and lung disease as well as coal mining accidents have been avoided. For as long as nations use fossil fuels, nuclear energy saves much more lives than it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Compare And Contrast Schweitzer And Semmelweiss Treatment or prevention? Schweitzer and Theresa, or Snow and Semmelweiss? I am persuaded that both sides are needful. Looking at the definitions of both terms, it is my estimation that both treatment and prevention allows us to move towards a supplementary relationship between investing in health education and the various aspects of preventative medicine, and the tremendous outpour of resources that are devoted to medical care concentrated on reducing the duration and severity of diseases. In the cases of contagious disease, some would argue in favor of one bad apple spoiling the bunch, while others contend that if the bunch is cared for, we ll less likely see any bad apples. (). If we look at this concern in terms of a family unit, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (). But I say that it is a blessing to be able to treat one because in treating that one, it will lead to the treatment and preventative measures that will ultimately preserve the lives of many. We cannot have one without the other. Society as a whole benefit from psychological interventions, social influences, and biological mechanisms that ultimately manifest itself in the behaviors of individuals and how it affects society. Individual therapy is supplementary to the primary prevention of the group. I believe that prevention could be better utilized in the social arena. • 12. Anthropogenic Noise On Cetaceans Rays of pale sunlight pass through a gradient of cerulean blue. The wide open space seems almost eerie until a humpback whale gently swimming sings his song, and the space fills with wonder, until a disturbance arises. Cetaceans evolved to use sound as their way of sensing the environment, navigating, foraging, and selecting mates. Anthropogenic sounds have negative effects on marine life. Humans produce their own underwater sounds through activities such as aircraft overflights, boats and ships (vessels), tourism, stationary offshore activities, air gun firing, sonars, explosions, and methods to control movement of marine life (W. Johnson Richardson and Bernd Würsig, 1997). Many studies have discovered vessels as the main contributor of anthropogenic noise. It is difficult to study the effects of anthropogenic noise on cetaceans because it is hard for scientists to see the effects on communities in aquatic environments. Nevertheless, researchers are finding new methods to study cetacean acoustics, which results in better details, but it is still hard to understand the long term effects of anthropogenic noise on these mammals. That the incomplete preparatory works in the initial period of the EU monetary establishment partly resulting in the euro crisis, had revealed how unrigorous and incompatible mechanisms the EU institutions proposed and conducted. There is no mechanism set up for addressing the debt crisis problem tracked back to the time point when the euro was established, and thus resulted in the hastily drawn and agreed emergency rescue plans, which were viewed unfavourable to the majority of EU countries as they seemed merely synonymous with those bailouts. Based on this ambiguous and unstable solutions the EU had provided, the worldwide disappointing impression had been created on the split opinions of the larger countries that offered the loans regarding how best to save the crisis. In consequence, the crisis had been prolonged along with the increasingly weakened EU confidence in international markets due to the lack of decisive action. The popularity of this animal produced a unique and influential identity for the horse during this period, and this identity constituted several parts. With this multifaceted identity, the horse received new roles in human society. I am attempting to explain these roles of the horse and their effects on the horse and human. By first explaining the context of the horse and rider of the Renaissance, I set up a discussion of the specific changes the humans caused in the horse. The transformation of the horse included changes in identity and perception along with a rider. This new identity stressed a greater unity between horse and rider, and the reservation of this identity to the elite of society idealized the horse and rider. Whenever artists and writers depicted the horse and rider, their united identity associated with the most respected class in Renaissance society. This association caused the widespread veneration of the horse and rider. Since this new identity constituted multiple parts and perceptions, explaining each new part is essential to understanding the identity of the Renaissance horse. Then uniting these identities describes the varied expression and perception of the horse more clearly than leaving the parts isolated. Finally, I discuss the most important impact of the horse s identity during the Renaissance and its implications. In this paper, I propose that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Act I Scene 5, after Lady Macbeth reads the letter about Macbeth s first encounter with Witches and their predictions, and Messenger informs her of Duncan s arrival to their castle that night, she says: The raven himself is hoarse that croaks the fatal entrance of Duncan under my battlements. (A1, s5, p.23) Even the raven, the dark bird and the messenger of death, will remain silent in comparison to the evil conspiracy she plans to take on King Duncan.

LFTR s are a hypothetical and innovative solution to the future of power production which are a viable replacement of the current flawed uranium reactors. Using LFRS s as a nuclear energy source poses a number of advantages for the long run and short term. Many countries such as China and India are currently heading towards LFTR s as a main source of energy. The LFTR offers unparalleled safety features in contrast to other conventional nuclear reactors, ensuring that incidents such as Fukushima will never occur again. Thorium, which is the element used to fuel LFTR s, is three times more abundant than uranium (World Nuclear, 2015). LFTR waste is also less biologically harmful as it emits alpha particles compared to conventional uranium reactors which emits gamma particles. The radiotoxicity of waste across nuclear power production methods can be seen in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Wild Hog Program Case Study I. INTRODUCTION The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency s Wild Hog Program is leading transformational change across the country. Most states dealing with wild hogs and the damage they cause are hopeless. Their hopelessness is due to wild hogs being such prolific breeders and regulatory environments in states don t allow for successful control or elimination of this exotic and destructive species. Thankfully, Tennessee is an exception and TWRA s management of this species is being used as a model by other states to base their management on. Thus, there is now newfound hope of controlling these problems in most of the United States. Likewise, enforcement of illegal transportation and translocation of wild hogs is a continued challenge. This type of enforcement is very difficult even with the best supporting laws and regulations. Other challenges threaten the integrity of TWRA s Wild Hog Program. The popularity of the sport of wild hog hunting is growing in the U.S and these activities threaten TWRA s wild hog control strategies. Potential legislative comprises also pose a threat. For example, wild hog buying stations could seriously erode the success of this program if allowed in Tennessee. Finally, greater enforcement challenges relating to other wildlife species have resulted from the creation of TWRA s new wild hog control regulations. • 32. Sports Coaches Influence On Youth Sports Physical activity is a large part of being healthy, especially at a young age. Participating in sports is a very popular form of obtaining this exercise, as nearly thirty six million kids play organized sports each year (Source 6). Coaches are extremely influential in the development of minors. They are the role models for the children to learn and grow from. Most coaches are parents, almost eighty five percent (Source 6). However, this can have positive and negative effects on the participants that would differ from the effects of having a trained, unbiased coach. Many problems are evident when it comes to coaching staffs for youth sports; many parents take on the task of coaching without knowing they are unqualified, partial, and may damage their child psychologically. The focus of this will be comparing asexual versus sexual reproduction. Also, the evolution and adaptation versus response to environment. And lastly, but not any less important is homeostasis. Sexual versus asexual reproduction both have benefits and disadvantages. Asexual is the development of a new organism forming from one parent. When an asexual organism has an offspring their offspring has the same exact genetic material. If the parent were to have a disease the child would automatically get the disease in their lifetime. You are probably guaranteed to have at least two kids in your class that suffer from learning disabilities or disabilities in general. These students need special attention, from their curriculum to the treatment of their peers. Special education students are spending more time in the classroom, not just for educational purposes but for social purposes as well. Challenges that teachers face with these students is making sure that they are included in the classroom on a day to day basis, and that they are adjusting curriculum to suit the child s needs. More times than not the child will get the same work as other students and it would be worked on either at the child s pace and graded accordingly, or taken to their resource classrooms to work on it with their resource teachers. Challenges that special education students face are not being able to understand or keep up with the work in the classroom. Recycling Essay Recycling During the early 1970s, as communities across the United States saw their landfills filling up, attention turned to alternative methods of garbage disposal, such as incineration and recycling. While incineration proved to be a thorny issue due to its toxic ash byproduct, recycling was embraced by Americans as an effective way to offset rising garbage production rates. Today, demand for recycled products is beginning to match supply, and the percentage of waste going into landfills and incinerators is decreasing steadily. In 1970, when Americans produced 121 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW), three quarters went directly into landfills, one fifth was incinerated, and less ... And the demand for goods made from recycled products, despite a lot of ups and downs during the 1980s, has never been higher thanks to a combination of well conceived industrial/commercial applications and much needed government purchasing mandates. Indeed, the existence of markets for recyclables has contributed significantly to recycling s success as a waste disposal alternative. What makes recycling especially unique is its implementation by local people for local people. In regards to MSW management, the federal government is relatively hands off, and state governments have focused more of their attention on landfill and incineration options. As a result, local communities have come together to initiate recycling efforts; the percolation of their enthusiasm has led to the widespread acceptance and even encouragement of recycling at both the state and federal levels. Andersen revels, Then she cut off the mermaid s tongue, so that she become dumb, and would never again speak or sing (8). This shows her naïve behavior, as she believes she can still enchain the prince s heart without her beautiful voice. Moreover, she has a strong desire of being a human being as the author said, I would give gladly all the hundreds of years that I have to live, to be a human being only for one day, and to have the hope of knowing the happiness of that glorious world above the stars (6). This shows her curiosity of being a human being for one day. Massengale demonstrates convincingly that the young fifteen year old protagonist has been strongly influenced by her grandmother. She learns that she must suffer to gain a position in the upper world and that she can never gain an immortal soul (Zipes 108). However, losing her voice means nothing as she becomes ignorant that she is not able express herself anymore. This is because Warner states the Little Mermaid sacrifices her song to no avail except for the story, which keeps faith with her memory. Her siren song condenses all inherited belief in women s sexual powers; the Little Mermaid surrenders them when she becomes bifurcated and bleeds, as if once the innocence of childhood has passed, that very sexuality turn against its possessor and makes the young woman ...
