Persuasive Essay On Deep Sea Fishing
Do you love deep sea fishing? The thrill of hooking that big one or filling the cooler for that fish
fry is real summer fun. However, deep sea fishing can get pricey when you have to charter a boat to
make assure availability for going fishing on your schedule. https://averageoutdoorsman.com
Deep sea charter fishing is now available with shared cost without having to round up a group to
share costs. You can book as many spots on a boat as you need. The more spots booked on a
charter boat, the lower the cost.
Here s how one company lets you participate in building a trip and signing up:
1. Select a date and location.
2. Choose how long you want to fish such as reef half day, a flat half day, or night swordfishing.
3. Decide what kind of charter you want to book. You can choose between a shared charter or a
private charter. There is a wait and see option that allows you to follow the development of a
charter trip before you commit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Three people must sign up on a shared charter or your money will be refunded. If you were one
of the first two to sign up, you will fall under this guarantee. Once three people have signed up, the
trip is confirmed. You can look for other fishermen to join you by establishing a free account with
the company, and visit their blog.
How you pay is to put down a small deposit on the day the trip is confirmed with three or more
sighing up for the charter. The day before you go fishing, the rest of the payment is due. The final
charge is based on how many other fishermen signed up on your shared trip. On the day of the
fishing, bring your prepaid ticket with you to the boat and give it to the captain.

Situational And Contingency Theories Of Leadership Training
Leadership is a subject that has gained substantial attention in pretty much every field. There have
been a number of studies done on leadership, which has resulted in a number of different theories.
Situational and Contingency are two theories that are most commonly used in leadership training.
Both fall under the contingency theory umbrella and are also commonly used interchangeable and
often consider as one theory. Situational and Contingency theory are identical but they are two very
different methods. This paper explains the concept of Situational and Contingency leadership
theories and compares and distinguishes the two theories.
Leadership
There are over 40,000 books/writings and over 10,000 research studies on leadership (Adair,
2011). Even though there are a numerous amount of studies on the subject, there is still no real
definition of the word. In the past 60 years, as many as 65 different classification systems have
been developed to define the dimensions of leadership, (Northouse, 2013 p.4). The classifications
have broken down into 4 components: 1) Leadership is a process, 2) Leadership involves
influence, 3) leadership occurs in groups, and 4) leadership involves common goals.
Leadership is a process: means that it is not a trait or characteristic that resides in the leader, but
rather a transactional event that occurs between the leader and the followers. The process implies
that a leader affects and is affected by followers. It emphasizes that leadership

Structural Model Of Structural Family Therapy
Structural family therapy is a model that consist of established, empathetic and exceptional
interventions/techniques and stance of the therapist that can be implemented and used to treat a
wide variety of families. My views on the mechanism of change is informed by the therapeutic
paradigm I use. I am a structural familytherapist, and therefore my views about the family and
interventions are influenced by this model. There are several elements of the structural model that
resonate with my style and personality. Therefore in this paper, I will discuss the paradigm,
presenting problems and expected outcomes, mechanism of change, stance of the therapist, major
interventions, and, self of the therapist and diversity and contextual considerations of structural
family therapymodel.
Family Systems Theory Paradigm Gregory Bateson was one of the pioneers that set the way for
family system theory. Bateson studied families and their communication patterns. According to
Guttman (1991) Bateson believed that the uniformity and variability of a systems behavior were
rule governed. In order for Bateson to study the communication process of different systems he
recruited the support of the Palo Alto group (Guttman, 1991). The Palo Alto looked at the family as
a whole and focused on families with schizophrenic members. With the research the concept of
homeostasis was established. Homeostasis is the principle that negative feedback preserves stability

Taser Changes go Ahead , an article published in the Alberta News in February, indicates that the
RCMP is moving forward and will be instituting some previously described changes into its 2011

The evolutionary histories of the technology and its associated manufacturing corporations have
always resulted in design deficiencies that have prevented the device from making it to the market.
However, with TaserInternational the company collectively refined the device based on the
failures of previous manufacturers and began marketing the device to law enforcement agencies as
from 1998 onward.
Before Taser International, Jack Cover invented the TF 76 in the mid 1970s. It is now
considered the primary source of the modern CED or CEW s. The TF 76 originally fired two
darts that were propelled by gunpowder to reach a target up to 15 feet away. The TF 76 was
initially viewed as a dangerous weapon that was severely restricted resulting in a barrier of entry
into many markets including that of the law enforcement agencies.
However, in 1998 the CEO of Taser International introduced the M26 as the next new product. As
supported by the information in the advertisements found on the homepage of Taser International
the M26 was a model far more superior to any Taser model since its invention. The M26 was
viewed as an enormous breakthrough because it provided Electro Muscular Disruption (EMD)
which instigated an involuntary muscle contraction within the subject. However, the latest model

Essay about achieving success and virtual teams
Case Analysis 3
Achieving Success in Virtual Teams
Overview: In today s competitive world, companies are gradually vacating their cubicles and enter
into the virtual workforce to increase work efficiency, reduce cost and resolve organizational
problems (Ahmed Ebrahim, 2009). Nowadays, companies are investing a bulk amount of money on
virtual teams to enhance their performance since it has become an indispensable prerequisite for
companies to stay in competitive in the era of globalization (Ahmed Ebrahim, 2009). Virtual teams

and they must be proficient in using variety of tech tools in order to accomplish their task (Settle
Murphy, 2009). Likewise, Virtual team members have to have the ability to manage their time
effectively and those who can understand that how much time they need to get their task done are
usually far more productive which in turns contribute to the success of virtual team. Moreover,
communication effectiveness and stimulating work are the two vital features of actuating the
success or failure of virtual teams; for instance, team members should know what to communicate,
how and when and the whole communication process should be concise and lucid to avoid any
misinterpretation (Nelson Quick, 2013, p. 348). In contrast, the failure of virtual teams relies on
several things wherein people play a major part in the context of virtual arena; for example, a
consulting service company; NetAge reveals the fact that the percentage of having failure of virtual
teams is around 90% of people (Nelson Quick, 2013, p. 348). Vagueness in communication might
lead to the failure of virtual teams; for instance, if the message is unclear and tough to comprehend
then it would hamper the work procedure and

Gender Socialization Paper
Gender roles are categories that characterize what it means to be feminine and masculine in
society, on how people think about gender as they relate to one another (Adams et al., 2013). For
example, women are expected to be accommodating and emotional, while men are usually
expected to be self confident and aggressive, this shows how men and women are to behave in
society. However, these sayings were taught to individuals based on norms, or standards created by
a society which is called GenderSocialization (p. 318). Growing up as a child, we were taught as
girls to play with dollhouses, pretend kitchen sets, cleaning supplies and play dress up. Whereas
boys are taught to play with cars, sports equipment s, action figures, and weapons. However, if a
boy was playing with dollhouses, or playing dress up, he would be considered gay, or not masculine
and looked down upon by society, and families. The same goes for girls who play with boy toys, or
dresses as a tomboy, this is what we are taught to play with at a young age. Our families tell us
how to behave, our schools tell us what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I consider magazines, television shows, films, news media, gossip media, Instagram, Facebook,
Snapchat, and other Internet sources to be the number one target for negative gender
discrimination, stereotypes, inequality, and hatred. For example, Playboy featured its first
transgender playmate on a magazine cover which is a positive change in gender role today.
However, for some individuals, there was mixed reactions and emotions about a transgender
featured on the Playboy cover. To the point where Ms. Ines was receiving negative comments on
social media, but she said stated in a recent New York Times Interview, I would have never
thought about people being so transphobic. I knew we still had a lot of work to do to get to a

Accounting office, GAO/IMTEC 92 26, entitled Patriot Missile Defense: Software Problem Led to

cause was an inaccurate calculation of the time since boot due to computer arithmetic errors.

Essay On Freelance Writing
Freelance Writing Mistakes That Could Ruin Your Career
Freelance writing is certainly a lucrative venture if you re looking for a side hustle to supplement
your income. In fact, if you play your cards right, freelance writing could be your main and best
source of income. However, most online writers end up making unavoidable mistakes that destroy
their freelancing careers long before they ve had a chance to grow. There are, of course, hundreds
of mistakes you could potentially make, but this article focuses on # of the worst.
Poor marketing
The mistake most online freelance writers make, and I have made this one myself, is expecting
their work to speak for them. One of the most important lessons you have to learn in your career is

Your level of professionalism could make or break your freelance writing career. You should always
be polite regardless of the client s temperament. But professionalism is more than just how you
address your client. It also includes your availability, communication, integrity, etc.
Overconfidence
Much as you should be confident in your skills as a writer, you should never let this get in your
head. Overconfidence often pushes people to make mistakes and you shouldn t consider yourself
an exception. Freelance writing involves a lot of criticism, learning, and mistakes. As an online
writer, you should understand that you are neither perfect nor are you all knowing. Therefore, you
should always be open to criticism and suggestions, have an understanding of your limitations, and
always make an effort to learn more about your field of experience. The greater danger with being
overconfident is that despite making mistakes you remain oblivious. This, in turn, increases the
likelihood of repeating the same mistakes and destroys the client s confidence in you. On the same
breath, let me point out that as a freelancer, you should never consider yourself indispensable. Your
work might be exceptional but you can always be replaced. Knowing this should help you fight to
protect your job and maintain a great working relationship with your clients.

Crime Causation: Positivism vs. Classicalism
Humans all pride themselves with having free will. While this is a great thing, free will can cause
many problems because it also involves different opinions. The leeway of freedom gives people
the option to choose the faulty way. This free will is what creates criminals. The Classical Theory
is the most well known and relevant crime causation ideology, but it is rivaled by the Positivist
Theory. While the Classical Theory deals with the social and legal aspects of humans, the Positivist
Theory suggests that criminals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Developed by Rafael Garofolo, Cesare Lombroso, and Enrico Ferri in the nineteenth century,
this theory encompassed much of the social aspects of human tendencies and new sciences.
These men, although mainly ascribed to Lombroso, believed that crime cannot be defined in
legal terms and actually is a fundamental offense of moral standards and certain humans had a
proclivity towards crime. An example of this notion is Winston Smith and Julia in 1984.
Winston is only a criminal in the eyes of the government because of the morals and normal
behavior. Their embrace had been a battle, the climax a victory. It was a blow struck against the
Party. It was a political act . (1984) There was no law against sexual relations, but it was a
criminal act because of how it was viewed by society. Winston and Julia are only criminals
because their act of rebellion was looked upon as an act against the Party; thus stating that
criminals are only criminals because they act differently than the preconceived moral standards.
The anti social behavior that leads to criminal activity is proven and ameliorated with sciences such
as biology, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and psychiatry. This outlook on criminal
causation is based on behavioral analysis. By using these sciences and analyzing criminals and
their personalities, Lombroso believed that committing a crime is not a choice, but rather a social
influence based on the person s influences and his or her morals. In Escape from Camp 14 the
main character, Shin, lies when he tells about how his mother and brother were executed. In
writing this book, I have sometimes struggled to trust [Shin] . (Harden) Shin lies about one thing
and that creates the image that he could have a propensity to being criminally dishonest and lied
about more aspects of his life. The author expresses this in the quote. Shin is now only viewed as
dishonest because

read real fiction: Jurassic Park, Dragonriders of Pern, Lord of the Rings... Stuff of fantasy and

Aid For Airline And Its Impact On The Tourism Industry
Aid for Airline?
Qantas airlines are an iconic Australian business, which has heavily shaped the tourism industry.
However in the 2013 14 financial year, (Qantas, 2014, pg.1) due to falls in revenue, growing
competition and high expenses the airline reported a 2.8 billion dollar loss. (Mccrann, 2014) It was
then that the company felt it required government support to assist them in getting back on their
feet. Commonly referred to as a bailout and in this case more specifically a debt guarantee , this
would involve the Australian Government covering Qantas debts, should the company collapse.
(Mcllroy, 2014, p9) There were mixed views on this particular issue between different MP s,
different political parties and against Qantas itself. After much debate on the issue however it was
declared that the Government would not grant a debt guarantee to Qantas. (Coorey, 2014) This
essay takes into account both sides of this debate and explains why the ultimate decision by the
Government not to financially support Qantas was justified.
From July 2013 to July2014, Qantas reported a statutory loss of 2.84 billion dollars (Qantas, 2014,
p1) and job cuts of approximately 5,000. (Boyle, 2014, p3) According to some commentators
continued decline of this scale would bankrupt the airline. (Mccrann, 2014)
There are several explanations as to why Qantas was struggling so much to remain profitable. One
being an increase in fuel costs of 6 per cent ($253 million). (Qantas, 2014, p1)This

The History Of Howard Hughes Aircraft Company
Howard Hughes was a successful Hollywood movie producer when he founded the Hughes
Aircraft Company in 1932. He personally tested cutting edge aircraft of his own design and in
1937 broke the transcontinental flight time record. In 1938, he flew around the world in a
record three days, 19 hours, and 14 minutes. Following the U.S. entrance into World War II in
1941, the U.S. government commissioned the Hughes Aircraft Company to build a large flying
boat capable of carrying men and materials over long distances. Because of wartime restrictions
on steel, Hughes decided to build his aircraft out of wood laminated with plastic and covered
with fabric, and they had a wingspan of 320 feet and was powered by eight giant propeller
engines. Development of the Spruce Goose cost a phenomenal $23 million and took so long that
the war had ended by the time of its completion in 1946. The aircraft had many detractors, and
Congress demanded that Hughes prove the plane airworthy. On November 2, 1947, Hughes
obliged, taking the prototype out into Long Beach Harbor, CA for an unannounced flight test.
Thousands of onlookers had come to watch the aircraft taxi on the water and were surprised when
Hughes lifted his wooden behemoth 70 feet above the water and flew for a mile before landing....

Osteoporosis Essay
Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and deterioration of bone tissues,
leading to bone fragility and, consequently, an increase in fracture risk. The term osteoporosis
comes from the Greek word osteon , meaning bone, and porus , meaning pore or passage.
Osteoporosis literally makes bones porous. The amount of calcium stored in human bones decreases
over time, causing the skeleton to weaken.
Demographics
The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) estimates that
10 million people (8 million women and 2 million men) in the United States have osteoporosis as of
2009, with another 34 million adults having low bone density, a condition called osteopenia.
Osteopenia can develop into osteoporosis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Calcium is critically involved in muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and many
metabolic activities within cells. To remain healthy, the body must keep the level of free
calcium ions (Ca2+) within a very narrow concentration range. Besides providing a framework
for the body, bone acts as a calcium bank. When excess calcium is present in the blood,
osteoblasts deposit it into bones where it is stored. When too little calcium is present,
osteoblasts dissolve calcium from bones and move it into the blood. This process is controlled
mainly by parathyroid hormone (PTH) secreted by the parathyroid glands in the neck. As people
age, various conditions cause them to take more calcium out of the bone bank than they deposit,
and osteoporosis (which literally means porous bones) eventually develops. A person s peak
bone mass and the rate at which they lose it in later life affects their risk of developing
osteoporosis; the higher the peak bone mass at age 30, the lower the risk of osteoporosis later on.
Doctors divide osteoporosis into three categories or types. Types 1 and 2 are considered primary
because they are not caused by other diseases or conditions. Type 3 osteoporosis is sometimes
called secondary osteoporosis because it results from taking certain drugs or having other

example to follow. However, times change and many more ideas had to flourish and different
conflicts had to arise, therefore different medications had to be administered to the economy in
order to continue flourishing. Hence, the idea of liberalization was imposed to allow the
economy to expand. Through government planning the United States gave free land during the
Homestead Act as well as free corporations that we privately owned and ran. This concept exactly
sets strains on the economy itself. This idea of free corporations led to problems quickly although
one would never think such corporations would grow and become a threat. Companies were
given the green light to do as they pleased in order to succeed and there was no way for the
government to interfere if the company was for example monopolizing a sector.
Soon after there was a call for once again a change in the government. The change came with

the political protests against the government of Venezuelan President NicholГЎs Maduro. These are
two presidents making history which is recorded in many ways as the modern times has reached

In the beginning of Arrian s account the reader is presented with a background of the tale of the
Gordian knot. In this account, the reader gains an understanding of how the Kingdom of Gordium
was established. Arrian clearly states that Alexander was at a loss thus introducing the historian to a
different Alexander from Plutarch. Arrian introduces the reader to an Alexander that is stubborn,
and who is unwilling to leave the knot tied due to wanting to avoid unrest. Similar to Plutarch,
Arrian uses Aristobulus as a source. The Arrian source also notes the religious actions of Alexander
as the reader is informed about the sacrifices that are made to the gods. In Arrian s account, the
reader becomes aware that the Macedonians gave the impression that the untying of the knot was
fulfilled thus showing that Alexander prevaricated the inhabitants of

For Whom The Bell Tolls Innocence
Many scholars can conclude that the path of war is the path of destruction. People lose their
lives, their homes, and their innocence to war. War may bring overall victory to one country, but
to both, it brings loss on many levels. The underlying theme of For Whom The Bell Tolls was a
loss of innocence and having to give up one s personal beliefs to war. Three characters who faced
the horrors of war were Maria, JoaquГn, and Lieutenant Berrendo. In For Whom The Bell Tolls,
Maria was a beautiful girl who suffered tremendously during the war until she was finally rescued
by Pilar. Maria lost her innocence to the war when she witnessed her parents death and when she
was raped numerous times by soldiers. ...they shot her with my father...I saw both of them shot...
(Hemingway, 350). Maria then goes on to explain that after being humiliated by the soldiers, she
is taken to her father s office where she is raped. ...into the office of my father where they laid me

College Admissions Essay-My Birth And My Name
My Birth and My Name
An outstanding mission was complete on this day. Although, it did take nine months and a lot of
effort, it was still complete all thanks to my amazing mother (and partially my dad, too).
Unfortunately, their mission wasn t quite the success. They had to fertilize an egg, form a fetus,
then wait nine months until the baby comes out healthily. My parents got the first two steps done
with no problem, but only partially completed the last step. My mother held the fetus inside of her
successfully for the nine months, but when it was time for it to come out, it was nearly dead! It
had its umbilical cord wrapped around its neck, suffocating it for the whole time and no one knew
anything about it. Can you believe that?! I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Percherons and Quarter horses have many similarities and differences. The physical features of
the Quarter horse and the Percheron contrast drastically. Both breeds of horses have many
similar jobs and a few different jobs. The weight, height and life expectancy of the Percheron
versus the Quarter horse vary. While Quarter horses come in many colors, Percherons come in a
few colors, and each breed also has a different blood type, or in other words, temperament. Both
Percherons and Quarter horses can have several different health problems. The history and
breed development of the Percheron contrasts drastically from that of the Quarter horse, with
only a few similarities. Percherons and Quarter horses each have different physical features.
Both the Percheron and the Quarter horse have straight profiled heads. While the Quarter horse
has a short and small refined head, the Percheron has an exceptionally broad forehead, small
ears, and large eyes. Both Percherons and Quarter horses have very deep and broad chests.
Although the Quarter horse has strong legs and flat knees, the Percheron has clean and heavily

Emily Grierson Theory
The Psychoanalytic Theory may be the most engaging ways of accessing Emily Grierson, of
how mentally disturbed she turned out to be. First, we look at Emily s issues, she showed a big
amount fear of abandonment. When her father dies, she doesn t want to let the town s people
take his body away. She kept the body long enough to where the town s people noticed a bad
smell and had to bust into her home and take the body, that s when she lets go, at least physically
speaking. Emily learned to love like her father and she demonstrates some of her father s
personality traits as she grew older. Not only does she try to hold on to her father s dead body,
she does the same thing to Homer s dead body. She was not able to let go of people, and the
thought of her new suitor leaving was just too much for her. When her father dies, it probably did
not help that she had a history of mental illness in the family. So, by having that illness in the
family, she... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of someone of her social standing, and yet Emily cares little for the social conventions of the
day, doing what she wants. Taking Homer in to town and cleaning him up. She spent her money
on this man and did not care of what the town people had to say behind her back. I believe that
her aristocrat nurture left her with a weakness to make personal connections with people. Her
family was the last of their kind, aristocrat, in the town, and the life style that she was used to be
shared by no one else in her life. She was isolated from reality, and when her father died the idea

Why did a Socialist or Labor Party never gain traction in...
Why did a Socialist or Labor Party never gain traction in the United States? According to Marxist
revolutionary theory, advanced capitalism is a necessary precondition to the development of
socialism. Capitalists would ruthlessly exploit workers, accumulating capital from the workers
labor but not sharing it. This would result in the workers developing a collective class
consciousness, overthrowing their oppressors, and replacing their bourgeois government with a
dictatorship of the proletariat, i.e., socialism. Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels expected that,
because the United States had the most advanced form of capitalism in the world, it was the most
likely setting for a proletarian revolution, yet, no socialist or labor party has... Show more content

According to Marxist theory, it should have been impossible for Russia to achieve socialism. It
was the least industrialized country in Europe, and most of its population consisted of peasants
rather than a class conscious proletarian working class. The first socialist country should have been
a country like the United States, but proletarian revolution did not occur in the United States first
or ever. Over the course of the past 110 years, historians, political scientists, and economists have all
attempted to explain why. The bulk of this historiographical essay will address Werner Sombart s
1906 assessment of the failings of American socialism, Eric Foner s critical reinterpretation of the
question from 1984, and these works conversation with each other and other studies. German
economist and sociologist Werner Sombart agreed with the basic Marxist assertion that the
development of socialism was a necessary reaction to capitalism, and thus was most likely to occur
in the United States first. When no such thing had transpired by the first years of the twentieth
century, Sombart conducted the first book length study on the question: Warum gibt es in den

Rap Or Hip Hop Is More Than Just Another Music Genre
Rap or Hip Hop is more than just another music genre, it is a movement full of more aspects than
one could imagine. The film The Art of Rap directed, produced, and hosted by Ice T, exemplifies
the different aspects and explains the importance of Hip Hop while taking a journey
interviewing many legendary MC s, giving the viewer an inside perspective of this music and
the art of MC ing. This film also heavily resonates with the book Rap Music and Street

Three MC s interviewed that really explain the role of the MC is Grandmaster Caz, Ice T, and
Big Daddy Kane. During Grandmaster Caz s interview, he explains how he started out as an MC,
taking his parents old funk and soul records and rappingover the beats. He believes the most
important part of rap is the lyrics, explaining his technique of trying to go beyond what the next
MC is going to do. Throughout the film, Ice T adds in his own commentary about the MC and
being one himself has important points about the role of the MC. Ice T stresses the MC has a
gift of communication and states the MC, Gets everybody s attention with displays of verbal
acrobatics, which I believe is a great way to explain the art of MC ing. He then explains how the

Recently electric cars have become very popular in the United States and around the world, but

electric cars really became popular. Twenty eight percent of the cars produced in 1900 were
powered by electricity, and electric cars represented one third of all cars in New York City,

The first step to make gasoline is to locate the main ingredient, which is petroleum. Petroleum is
usually found in geological formations beneath the earth s surface. After they find the
petroleum, they have to drill into the rock and extract the crude oil. Sometimes when they are

Plastic Pollution And Its Effects On Our Society
Our world has become infatuated with the idea of fast, easy, and comfortable consumption. We ve
grown accustomed to accommodating a fast pace lifestyle but we have forgotten about the
repercussions of our actions. So many products have become single use or disposable, from our
individually wrapped food to our hygiene products. Since the discovery of plasticit has become the
go to material of choice due to its cheap price of production. Unfortunately because of its high
production rate and the fact that it s essentially non biodegradable it has started to consume our
planet from landfills, to rivers, and our oceans. When talking about plastic pollution people usually
think about plastic bags and bottles but another huge product of plastic waste is a toothbrush.
Currently there s about 323,060,000 people in the United states; if you take a very rough estimate
that there s at least 5 million people/ babies who don t have teeth, subtract that from the population,
and then estimate that the average person goes through 3 tooth brushes a year, you end up with
955,800,000 toothbrushes being thrown away per year. That s 1 billion toothbrushes from America
alone, disregarding the fact that your dentist recommends you change your toothbrush at least 4
times a year. Plastic is generally what the average toothbrush is made of. Little plastic beads are
poured into a mold and then heated up till they reach a doughy consistency, rubber detailing is then
added for looks and texture

America Must Be A Civil War Against Our Democratic Government
Yglesia is illustrating that America will crumble down at some point. With all the social, and
political issues facing our society, I agree with his statement. I believe that there would be a civil
war against our democratic government. The government members take advantage of their power
in some situations. Some concepts should be altered. Most people are starting to notice the
unfairness and somewhat corrupt actions governmenttakes. The process as to vote for laws or
presidents in this country and others are not the most thoughtful and reasonable procedures. For
example, if deadlocks were removed from our democracy, it would be a better system. My two
examples on this subject are the immigration law by Obama and the Honduran President Zelaya
trying to alter the constitution. Gridlocks are illustrated in the article as a cause on why the
democratic government is unfair. Gridlocks is a an argument or proposed law ending in no
decision. Gridlocking happens constantly in our government. An example given was the
immigration law, which was not passed. Obama wanted to grant illegal immigrants access to
programs in which they can become legalized, if they had been in U.S over a period of time and
have children that are citizen or permanent resident. This action was taken to minimize deportation
of parents and families. This law was not passed. President Obama blamed the 4 4 court deadlock
on Congressional inaction. The reason that people are deported is to

Spinal cord injury (SCI) represents a major clinical, social and economical problem that has
currently no cure. In the United States, an estimated of 276,000 people live with a SCI [1]. It is
now widely accepted that in individuals with incomplete spinal cord lesions there is some
preservation of sensory and/or motor functions caudal to the level of injury that oer a pathway to
recover some locomotor functions [2].
Increasing experimental evidence of axonal sprouting, long term changes in spinal re exes and

As previously shown [19], [23], there is a voluntary response in incomplete SCI due to epidural
stimulation and stepping training sessions, thus we expect to see a voluntary response in all
groups. Due to the motor tasks proposed, we anticipate that the voluntary response is augmented in
both intervention groups compared to the control group, and it is also increased within each group
over time.
Potential Problems and Alternative Strategies: Due to the limitations encountered after a spinal
cord injury and the variability in responses due to injury level, the training protocols proposed might
be challenging.
Full body weight standing and increased load bearing during walking on an inclined treadmill
would be one of the challenges encountered due to the rapid bone density decrease and muscle
atrophy in the rst two years after a spinal cord lesion [49]. To overcome this, we target individuals
at the beginning of the chronic stage of a SCI (6 months) when this degradation is not advanced.

Othello Illusion Vs Reality
Illusion vs. Reality
When thought up of the idea of illusions multiple things come to mind: magic tricks, mind games,
and so much more. With such positive outlooks on illusions it s difficult to see how the use of
them could possibly be used in a negative way. Within the play Othello, Shakespeare plays with the
idea of unreliable reality to seek his revenge. Through the misfortunes of lies and gullibility the
misunderstanding of illusion and reality soon lead to the tragic downfall of many.
As soon as the play takes off Iago lets the readers know his true intentions. He states to Roderigo
that he is going to be the Moorships biggest mistake after he found out Othello chose Cassio to be
his Lieutenant (I. i. 35). From this information it is gathered that Iago seeks revenge and the use
of illusion vs. reality will make his plans all the more believable. After seen Iago s true colors it s
iconic to see how many times he is called by the name Honest Iago . This name is an illusion in
itself knowing he is anything but honest. Cassio even goes on to say I never/knew/a Florentine
more kind and honest (III. i. 43 45). Cassio truly believes his words are humble but only the

Essay on Servant Leader
February 5, 2004
Greenleaf s The Servant Leader
The Servant Leader discusses the importance of leaders who adopt a service oriented attitude in
which they care for the needs of others before their own. A servant leader need not be an actual
servant or have ever been a servant to become a servant leader. Rather, a servant leader is born
with or adopts an others first disposition. Climbing through the ranks may help to create a servant
leader, though it is not necessary. When leaders choose to see that the needs of their followers or
their organizations are the highest priority they become servants. The importance of servant
leadership should not be underestimated and it can be simplified and embodied in one timeless
phrase: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a way, the servant leader reads his or her audience and adjusts accordingly.
Under the heading Know the Unknowable В– Beyond Conscious Rationality is a discussion of
creativity. Leadership . . . imposes some intellectual demands that are not measured by academic
intelligence ratings (14). The success of a leader is not determined solely on their intellect.
While education certainly contributes, it is not a guarantee. What leaders need to know goes
beyond what can be taught in a classroom or read in a book. The servant leader relies on
intuition creativity. One of my favorite quotations appears in this section: Others will depend on
him to go out ahead and show the way because his judgment will be better than most. Leaders,
therefore, must be more creative than most; and creativity is largely discovery, push into the
uncharted and the unknown. Every once in a while a leader finds himself needing to think like a
scientist, an artist, or a poet (15). Ultimately, I find that Greenleaf would say that a combination
of intellect and instinct make the best leaders. This quotation also suggests that a leader must be

Ultim A Short Story
Alright, the final QA is done and it looks like the patch is good to launch in an hour, Davin, one

Shouldn t you be working? Bossmen cut me loose on good behavior. What bout you? Gathering

How Our Founding Fathers Shaped America Today Essay
In our everyday lives, we come across myths, from fairy tales to facts that people assumed were
true. Yet these myths that usually originate from truth are used as a base for how we live our
everyday lives. Although we can differentiate between fairy tales and flat out lies, there are some
myths in our country s literature that just cannot be lived up to when our founding fathers were
writing these documents. From our basic rights granted to us, to the falseness about what our
fathers stood for, there are un blatant myths in our literature. In result of these myths, Americans
have not lived up to the expectations of our documents due to their radical expectations, as well as

Yet in modern America, we see these rights that we were granted to us such as life, liberty and
the pursuit of happiness altered in ways that outrage us, or slip right through the cracks. Today,
Americans are finding it harder and harder to move up and down the class system that we have,
or our ability to have social mobility. People who are poor end up stay poor, and rich 1% end up
getting richer. This is slander to our right to pursuit happiness, even if it is subtle. Another
significant example of our rights being altered would be our right to freedom, which wasn t full of
justice to begin with. Americans have made substantial strives to make freedom for everyone
happen, not just those of white skin color. Thousands of deaths and many right movements later,
we finally have some sort of freedom and equality today. Yet there are still movements today, such
as the white leadership rallies, that try and strip away these rights for minorities. Americans also
have lost the right to have privacy. Although the loss of privacy prevents terrorism, it s still an
invasion of our right. By looking something that can be seen as harmless on the internet, such as the

Technology And Science By Law Enforcement
The National Institute of Justice defines forensic science as, the application of science, such as
physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and engineering to matters of law, (2014). The
emphasis here is the use of technology and science by law enforcement officers and agencies
and is accepted and recognized by the criminal justice system. It is seen as scientific technology
or Criminalistics, (Dempsey Forst, 2013). While technology plays a role in this, it is most
recognized by the use of science by law enforcement and allowing scientific information to be
admissible in the court of law. For this reason, forensic science is seen as a method to resolve
legal matters or a scientific analysis for the purpose of judicial resolution, (Collins, 2007, p. 2).
Weather this is using chemistry, such as a drug testing kit, to determine if a substance is an illegal
drug, forensic science has become fundamental to policing. Science and technology can be used
and applied in many ways. This can be observed through the various branches of forensic science.
These include: forensic biology/DNA, controlled substances, forensic toxicology, forensic
anthropology, forensic pathology and medicolegal death investigation, impression and pattern
evidence, and trace evidence, (NIJ, 2014). In these ways, law enforcement agencies are able to use
science to investigate crimes and practice law enforcement. Understanding the various ways that
forensic science is applied in policing, one can

Drunk driving can be easily stopped. Alcohol is a poison that alters your mind in a negative way,
and when you try to drive while under the influence it can be dangerous to you as well as the
world. When people drink and drive, they can t focus and can easily crash, this can hurt the
person who is drinking and driving as well as any passengers in the car and also innocent people
around. The way to stop drunk driving is simple, stop drinking, and if you re going to drink
make sure you drink in a safe environment or have a safe way to get home. Another easy way to
prevent drunk driving is to put the bottle down and not drink at all. Drinking alcohol has many
negative effects on the brain as well as the body and kills millions every year just in America.
Alcohol can be addictive and can change the user s life in a negative way forever, and it will

Why I Want To Give Back To High School

given so many opportunities to grow and succeed that I feel that I need to give back to in as many
areas as possible. My involvement in the community began in elementary school through my
church group. I have always had a love for the elderly. I regularly visited nursing homes and
assisted living facilities engaging in activities there. Also, I worked with the Salvation Army during
the Christmas break to raise money for the homeless. In high school, I have had to manage my time
wisely to include volunteering with the demands of advanced placement and dual enrollment

Objective Tinnitus Case Study
The uncomfortable pain of Objective Tinnitus is common in many individuals who yet are
unaware of the hearing issue they may have. This research was conducted to determine if there was
a method for Objective Tinnitus to be reduced or eliminated. A 38 year old women with objective
tinnitus and sensorineural hearing loss in her right ear was tested over 2 years (Champlin, Muller,
Mitchell, 1990, 817). Surgical procedures were performed using therapeutic embolization. Other
testing methods used were computerized axial tomography (CAT), and a miniature microphone
system (Champlin, Muller, Mitchell, 1990, 816). These were used to identify if there were any
abnormalities on the brain or auditory system. The data recorded showed that the amplitude
measurements used in left and right ear for ambient and suppressed conditions were similar.
Spectrum energy of tinnitus was concentrated base on frequency below 2000 hertz (Hz) and often
exceeding 40 (decibels) sound pressure level (SPL) (Champlin, Muller, Mitchell, 1990, 818). Both
Spectrum ambient and suppressed conditions used 16 and 4 samples to measure the frequency of

in the head of its owner (Champlin, Muller, Mitchell, 1990, 816). This means that the individual

either two ways objective or sensorineural. Objective tinnitus is when the sound is able to be heard

purpose of the research was to measure the acoustics of objective tinnitus and identify a method for

The Endangered Species Act By Pete Mccloskey
I was inspired to get involved in politics in the 1970s by my local Congressman, Pete McCloskey,
a leading environmental advocate, co founder of the first Earth Day, and one of the original
authors of the Endangered Species Act. As a lifelong hiker and nature lover, two of my early
heroes were John Muir, the founder of the Sierra Club, and Rachel Carson, a leading
conservationist of her time. Today, I enjoy hiking through Catoctin Mountain Park, biking along the
C and O Canal, and I am committed to preserving the wildlife and natural resources of the 8th

Fracking / Fossil Fuels
The shale revolution has provided a new source of natural gas and energy independence for the
United States, but it must be carefully regulated to keep our nation s water supply safe and clean.
That s why I am a firm supporter of the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act. In Congress,
I will diligently work to end the Halliburton Loophole, which has dangerously exempted fracking
from necessary federal environmental regulation, and I will advance efforts to create stronger
regulations by the EPA to ensure that hydraulic fracturing is practiced in a safe and environmentally
conscious manner.
I also oppose the Keystone Pipeline and support ending costly fossil fuel subsidies, which totaled
over $18.5 billion in the United States in 2013.2 This is a waste of taxpayer money, as the top
five oil companies earned $93 billion in profit in the same year.3 In Congress, I will fight to end
Republican expansion of oil subsidies and instead focus on incentivizing the production of clean
energy that will eliminate our dependence on coal and oil companies.

developing a routine and standardized practice change of screening for depression, a larger number
of patients will receive the care needed decreasing the need for hospitalization and decreasing
mortality rates. Incorporating the nurses into the screening process to ensure compliance along
with freeing up the physician or practitioner to focus on other medical issues the patient may have
presented with is an improved efficiency measure. Assigning a team to pilot the project with the
objective of identifying any barriers to implementation allowed the process the biggest chance of

the entity utilized for the purchase and the method of purchase. ANALYSIS: The type of business
entity that Ms. Growne selects can have both legal and tax implications. Having said this, there are
some tax and legal considerations to examine regardless of the type of purchasing entity.

The statement of reserves should be reviewed, since the acquisition of the tavern, through the
purchase of the seller s interest, results in the buyer, Ms. Growne accepting both known and
unknown liabilities of the business prior to her ownership. In addition, by reviewing the
financial statements to look at the net operating gain or loss, Ms. Growne can determine if there
is a loss she can offset against her other sources of income. For some individuals, the idea of
being able to offset other income with these losses incurred prior to ownership is appealing, due
to the tax benefit that may result. However, if the buyer does not have significate income to be
offset or is not in a higher tax brackets, this benefit of the acquisition through interest becomes less
attractive. In addition, if the sellers basis in the assets are significantly less than the assets fair
market value, the buyer is likely to incur greater gains on the assets in the future, resulting in a
higher taxable income and leading to negative tax implication. In contrast, if the assets of the
business were purchased, the buyer would not be susceptible to prior liabilities and the seller must
examine their basis for each asset, compare it with the assets current market value, and incur any
applicable gains or losses, intern shifting the tax consequences of an increase in

Depression Is A Prison Dorothy Rowe Analysis

death. Burgess did not only lose his mother, but he would lose his father as well, gaining a mostly

Maple Wood Research Paper
Maple is most commonly associated with the production of syrup, not primarily with smoking
food. Sugar maple trees are tapped for their sap, which is reduced to make maple syrup and
reduced even further to make maple sugar. The sugar contained in the wood is thought to enhance
its value as a smoking wood.
Which tree do maple wood chips come from?
Maple trees are native to Asia but can also be found in Europe, Africa and North America. There
are about 128 species of maple tree. The wood from maple trees is classified as a hardwood,
which means that it is dense and relatively dry when compared to the wood from softwoods.

maple wood does give out a lot of white smoke when you first put it on the coals, it will quickly be

maple wood chip flavor?
Maple wood s sweetness is thought to be best for pork and poultry and will pair well with their
flavors. This is because those meats are milder and maple wood enhances their flavors without
canceling them out the way a stronger tasting wood might. Maple wood does an especially good
job when used to smoke hams. If you pair it with another mild smoke wood like alder, you can

  • 3. Situational And Contingency Theories Of Leadership Training Leadership is a subject that has gained substantial attention in pretty much every field. There have been a number of studies done on leadership, which has resulted in a number of different theories. Situational and Contingency are two theories that are most commonly used in leadership training. Both fall under the contingency theory umbrella and are also commonly used interchangeable and often consider as one theory. Situational and Contingency theory are identical but they are two very different methods. This paper explains the concept of Situational and Contingency leadership theories and compares and distinguishes the two theories. Leadership There are over 40,000 books/writings and over 10,000 research studies on leadership (Adair, 2011). Even though there are a numerous amount of studies on the subject, there is still no real definition of the word. In the past 60 years, as many as 65 different classification systems have been developed to define the dimensions of leadership, (Northouse, 2013 p.4). The classifications have broken down into 4 components: 1) Leadership is a process, 2) Leadership involves influence, 3) leadership occurs in groups, and 4) leadership involves common goals. Leadership is a process: means that it is not a trait or characteristic that resides in the leader, but rather a transactional event that occurs between the leader and the followers. The process implies that a leader affects and is affected by followers. It emphasizes that leadership ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My views on the mechanism of change is informed by the therapeutic paradigm I use. I am a structural familytherapist, and therefore my views about the family and interventions are influenced by this model. Therefore in this paper, I will discuss the paradigm, presenting problems and expected outcomes, mechanism of change, stance of the therapist, major interventions, and, self of the therapist and diversity and contextual considerations of structural family therapymodel. Family Systems Theory Paradigm Gregory Bateson was one of the pioneers that set the way for family system theory. Bateson studied families and their communication patterns. According to Guttman (1991) Bateson believed that the uniformity and variability of a systems behavior were rule governed. In order for Bateson to study the communication process of different systems he recruited the support of the Palo Alto group (Guttman, 1991). The Palo Alto looked at the family as a whole and focused on families with schizophrenic members. With the research the concept of homeostasis was established. The 16 recommendations made by the Braidwood inquiry, including yearly re trainings, monthly quality and adherence audits, as well as updated procedures based on the minimization of any potentially adverse health effects to the subject, should be reflected in the final version of the manual for 2011. The evolutionary histories of the technology and its associated manufacturing corporations have always resulted in design deficiencies that have prevented the device from making it to the market. However, with TaserInternational the company collectively refined the device based on the failures of previous manufacturers and began marketing the device to law enforcement agencies as from 1998 onward. Before Taser International, Jack Cover invented the TF 76 in the mid 1970s. It is now considered the primary source of the modern CED or CEW s. The TF 76 originally fired two darts that were propelled by gunpowder to reach a target up to 15 feet away. The TF 76 was initially viewed as a dangerous weapon that was severely restricted resulting in a barrier of entry into many markets including that of the law enforcement agencies. However, in 1998 the CEO of Taser International introduced the M26 as the next new product. As supported by the information in the advertisements found on the homepage of Taser International the M26 was a model far more superior to any Taser model since its invention. The M26 was viewed as an enormous breakthrough because it provided Electro Muscular Disruption (EMD) which instigated an involuntary muscle contraction within the subject. • 7. Gender Socialization Paper Gender roles are categories that characterize what it means to be feminine and masculine in society, on how people think about gender as they relate to one another (Adams et al., 2013). For example, women are expected to be accommodating and emotional, while men are usually expected to be self confident and aggressive, this shows how men and women are to behave in society. However, these sayings were taught to individuals based on norms, or standards created by a society which is called GenderSocialization (p. 318). Growing up as a child, we were taught as girls to play with dollhouses, pretend kitchen sets, cleaning supplies and play dress up. Whereas boys are taught to play with cars, sports equipment s, action figures, and weapons. However, if a boy was playing with dollhouses, or playing dress up, he would be considered gay, or not masculine and looked down upon by society, and families. The same goes for girls who play with boy toys, or dresses as a tomboy, this is what we are taught to play with at a young age. Our families tell us how to behave, our schools tell us what... Overconfidence often pushes people to make mistakes and you shouldn t consider yourself an exception. Freelance writing involves a lot of criticism, learning, and mistakes. As an online writer, you should understand that you are neither perfect nor are you all knowing. Therefore, you should always be open to criticism and suggestions, have an understanding of your limitations, and always make an effort to learn more about your field of experience. The greater danger with being overconfident is that despite making mistakes you remain oblivious. This, in turn, increases the likelihood of repeating the same mistakes and destroys the client s confidence in you. While this is a great thing, free will can cause many problems because it also involves different opinions. The leeway of freedom gives people the option to choose the faulty way. This free will is what creates criminals. The Classical Theory is the most well known and relevant crime causation ideology, but it is rivaled by the Positivist Theory. While the Classical Theory deals with the social and legal aspects of humans, the Positivist Theory suggests that criminals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Developed by Rafael Garofolo, Cesare Lombroso, and Enrico Ferri in the nineteenth century, this theory encompassed much of the social aspects of human tendencies and new sciences. These men, although mainly ascribed to Lombroso, believed that crime cannot be defined in legal terms and actually is a fundamental offense of moral standards and certain humans had a proclivity towards crime. An example of this notion is Winston Smith and Julia in 1984. Winston is only a criminal in the eyes of the government because of the morals and normal behavior. Their embrace had been a battle, the climax a victory. It was a blow struck against the Party. It was a political act . (1984) There was no law against sexual relations, but it was a criminal act because of how it was viewed by society. Winston and Julia are only criminals because their act of rebellion was looked upon as an act against the Party; thus stating that criminals are only criminals because they act differently than the preconceived moral standards. The anti social behavior that leads to criminal activity is proven and ameliorated with sciences such as biology, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and psychiatry. This outlook on criminal causation is based on behavioral analysis. By using these sciences and analyzing criminals and their personalities, Lombroso believed that committing a crime is not a choice, but rather a social influence based on the person s influences and his or her morals. In Escape from Camp 14 the main character, Shin, lies when he tells about how his mother and brother were executed. In writing this book, I have sometimes struggled to trust [Shin] . However in the 2013 14 financial year, (Qantas, 2014, pg.1) due to falls in revenue, growing competition and high expenses the airline reported a 2.8 billion dollar loss. (Mccrann, 2014) It was then that the company felt it required government support to assist them in getting back on their feet. Commonly referred to as a bailout and in this case more specifically a debt guarantee , this would involve the Australian Government covering Qantas debts, should the company collapse. (Mcllroy, 2014, p9) There were mixed views on this particular issue between different MP s, different political parties and against Qantas itself. After much debate on the issue however it was declared that the Government would not grant a debt guarantee to Qantas. (Coorey, 2014) This essay takes into account both sides of this debate and explains why the ultimate decision by the Government not to financially support Qantas was justified. From July 2013 to July2014, Qantas reported a statutory loss of 2.84 billion dollars (Qantas, 2014, p1) and job cuts of approximately 5,000. (Boyle, 2014, p3) According to some commentators continued decline of this scale would bankrupt the airline. He personally tested cutting edge aircraft of his own design and in 1937 broke the transcontinental flight time record. In 1938, he flew around the world in a record three days, 19 hours, and 14 minutes. Following the U.S. entrance into World War II in 1941, the U.S. government commissioned the Hughes Aircraft Company to build a large flying boat capable of carrying men and materials over long distances. Because of wartime restrictions on steel, Hughes decided to build his aircraft out of wood laminated with plastic and covered with fabric, and they had a wingspan of 320 feet and was powered by eight giant propeller engines. Development of the Spruce Goose cost a phenomenal $23 million and took so long that the war had ended by the time of its completion in 1946. The aircraft had many detractors, and Congress demanded that Hughes prove the plane airworthy. On November 2, 1947, Hughes obliged, taking the prototype out into Long Beach Harbor, CA for an unannounced flight test. • 18. Osteoporosis Essay Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and deterioration of bone tissues, leading to bone fragility and, consequently, an increase in fracture risk. The term osteoporosis comes from the Greek word osteon , meaning bone, and porus , meaning pore or passage. Osteoporosis literally makes bones porous. The amount of calcium stored in human bones decreases over time, causing the skeleton to weaken. Demographics The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) estimates that 10 million people (8 million women and 2 million men) in the United States have osteoporosis as of 2009, with another 34 million adults having low bone density, a condition called osteopenia. Osteopenia can develop into osteoporosis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Calcium is critically involved in muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and many metabolic activities within cells. To remain healthy, the body must keep the level of free calcium ions (Ca2+) within a very narrow concentration range. Besides providing a framework for the body, bone acts as a calcium bank. When excess calcium is present in the blood, osteoblasts deposit it into bones where it is stored. When too little calcium is present, osteoblasts dissolve calcium from bones and move it into the blood. This process is controlled mainly by parathyroid hormone (PTH) secreted by the parathyroid glands in the neck. As people age, various conditions cause them to take more calcium out of the bone bank than they deposit, and osteoporosis (which literally means porous bones) eventually develops. A person s peak bone mass and the rate at which they lose it in later life affects their risk of developing osteoporosis; the higher the peak bone mass at age 30, the lower the risk of osteoporosis later on. Doctors divide osteoporosis into three categories or types. Types 1 and 2 are considered primary because they are not caused by other diseases or conditions. Type 3 osteoporosis is sometimes called secondary osteoporosis because it results from taking certain drugs or having other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We ve grown accustomed to accommodating a fast pace lifestyle but we have forgotten about the repercussions of our actions. So many products have become single use or disposable, from our individually wrapped food to our hygiene products. Since the discovery of plasticit has become the go to material of choice due to its cheap price of production. Unfortunately because of its high production rate and the fact that it s essentially non biodegradable it has started to consume our planet from landfills, to rivers, and our oceans. When talking about plastic pollution people usually think about plastic bags and bottles but another huge product of plastic waste is a toothbrush. Currently there s about 323,060,000 people in the United states; if you take a very rough estimate that there s at least 5 million people/ babies who don t have teeth, subtract that from the population, and then estimate that the average person goes through 3 tooth brushes a year, you end up with 955,800,000 toothbrushes being thrown away per year. That s 1 billion toothbrushes from America alone, disregarding the fact that your dentist recommends you change your toothbrush at least 4 times a year. Plastic is generally what the average toothbrush is made of. • 31. America Must Be A Civil War Against Our Democratic Government Yglesia is illustrating that America will crumble down at some point. With all the social, and political issues facing our society, I agree with his statement. I believe that there would be a civil war against our democratic government. The government members take advantage of their power in some situations. Some concepts should be altered. Most people are starting to notice the unfairness and somewhat corrupt actions governmenttakes. The process as to vote for laws or presidents in this country and others are not the most thoughtful and reasonable procedures. For example, if deadlocks were removed from our democracy, it would be a better system. My two examples on this subject are the immigration law by Obama and the Honduran President Zelaya trying to alter the constitution. Gridlocks are illustrated in the article as a cause on why the democratic government is unfair. Gridlocks is a an argument or proposed law ending in no decision. Gridlocking happens constantly in our government. An example given was the immigration law, which was not passed. Obama wanted to grant illegal immigrants access to programs in which they can become legalized, if they had been in U.S over a period of time and have children that are citizen or permanent resident. This action was taken to minimize deportation of parents and families. This law was not passed. President Obama blamed the 4 4 court deadlock on Congressional inaction. Due to the motor tasks proposed, we anticipate that the voluntary response is augmented in both intervention groups compared to the control group, and it is also increased within each group over time. Potential Problems and Alternative Strategies: Due to the limitations encountered after a spinal cord injury and the variability in responses due to injury level, the training protocols proposed might be challenging. Full body weight standing and increased load bearing during walking on an inclined treadmill would be one of the challenges encountered due to the rapid bone density decrease and muscle atrophy in the rst two years after a spinal cord lesion [49]. With such positive outlooks on illusions it s difficult to see how the use of them could possibly be used in a negative way. Essay on Servant Leader February 5, 2004 Greenleaf s The Servant Leader The Servant Leader discusses the importance of leaders who adopt a service oriented attitude in which they care for the needs of others before their own. A servant leader need not be an actual servant or have ever been a servant to become a servant leader. Rather, a servant leader is born with or adopts an others first disposition. Climbing through the ranks may help to create a servant leader, though it is not necessary. When leaders choose to see that the needs of their followers or their organizations are the highest priority they become servants. Leadership . . . imposes some intellectual demands that are not measured by academic intelligence ratings (14). The success of a leader is not determined solely on their intellect. While education certainly contributes, it is not a guarantee. What leaders need to know goes beyond what can be taught in a classroom or read in a book. The servant leader relies on intuition creativity. One of my favorite quotations appears in this section: Others will depend on him to go out ahead and show the way because his judgment will be better than most. Leaders, therefore, must be more creative than most; and creativity is largely discovery, push into the uncharted and the unknown. Every once in a while a leader finds himself needing to think like a scientist, an artist, or a poet (15). Ultimately, I find that Greenleaf would say that a combination of intellect and instinct make the best leaders. Technology And Science By Law Enforcement The National Institute of Justice defines forensic science as, the application of science, such as physics, chemistry, biology, computer science, and engineering to matters of law, (2014). The emphasis here is the use of technology and science by law enforcement officers and agencies and is accepted and recognized by the criminal justice system. It is seen as scientific technology or Criminalistics, (Dempsey Forst, 2013). While technology plays a role in this, it is most recognized by the use of science by law enforcement and allowing scientific information to be admissible in the court of law. For this reason, forensic science is seen as a method to resolve legal matters or a scientific analysis for the purpose of judicial resolution, (Collins, 2007, p. 2). Weather this is using chemistry, such as a drug testing kit, to determine if a substance is an illegal drug, forensic science has become fundamental to policing. Science and technology can be used and applied in many ways. This can be observed through the various branches of forensic science. These include: forensic biology/DNA, controlled substances, forensic toxicology, forensic anthropology, forensic pathology and medicolegal death investigation, impression and pattern evidence, and trace evidence, (NIJ, 2014).
