History Of The Bubonic Plague
When a matter such as the Bubonic Plague strikes in a world unexposed to the current technology
and information citizens tend to create false cures and treatments. These treatments are highly
dangerous and unhygienic. A common treatment used was bloodletting, which was the act of
extracting blood from a patient to remove the disease. Similar to bloodletting was boil lancing
which is when you take a knife to slice the buboes until they bursted. Buboes were a symptom of
the Bubonic Plaguedescribed as a swollen inflamed lymph node. Others however believed in
superstitious practices, for example burning aromatic herbs and bathing in rose water or vinegar.
Some more eccentric treatments included witchcraft and potion making which many were
persecuted for practicing. Now it is known that the treatments above were inefficient in curing and
or preventing the bubonic plague. Then we have the anti seminists who believed that Jews were
the ones to blame for the spreading of the disease. This was the only way they believed they could
gain God s forgiveness and used religion as the answer to the unknown.... Show more content on

The side effects were very similar to the common everyday flu consisting of fever, chills,
vomiting, diarrhea, and dire aches and pains. The differentiating factor between the two was the
Buboes that we mentioned earlier, also known as plague boils, that appear on the skin under the
armpits or on the groin. The Buboes could reach up to the size of an egg, or even an apple. The
most surprising act of the Bubonic Plague was how quickly this disease took the life of the affected
individual. Even the the most healthy, could contract the massive epidemic at any give

The Road To Civil War Essay
Part 1:The Road to Civil War
Election 2012: The Democrats run William Pilmore, a man who claims to be all things to all
men. (And it must be hell in there.:D ) This is generally regarded as a suicide run the ongoing war
on terror makes anyone promoting peace to be regarded as an idiot. AQ makes matters worse by
attacking several targets within Democratic regions; the terror group has fragmented and
regrouped. While the attacks are minor, the effect is not. The Democrats get soundly spanked.
Confusing the issue is the appearance of a new party; the America or American Party. While it does
not enjoy the funding of its rivals, it has considerable grassroots support.

Israel goes nuts and chases the terrorists out into Syrian held territory. Israel issues an ultimation;
Syria can hand over the terrorists and crease all support or else. Egypt demands UN intervention,
along with Iran and Saudi. IAF aircraft are poking at Syria, threatening the state and Turkey has
declared its support for Israel. Despite a last minute attempt by Thompson to broker a peace, the
latest Arab Israel war breaks out.
Israeli columns advance into Syria, destroying the Syrians with ease, while Turkish forces advance
from the north. After a short war, the nation is occupied, sending shockwaves around the globe.
The only pleased people are the Syrian opposition; the Israelis don t shoot them at random. Despite
that, Israel and Turkey get dragged into a long term insurgency in Syria.
This triggers off yet another uprising in Palestine, supported by some Egyptian troops. (Under
orders? Mutiny? No one knows.) The battles are savage both sides are crying atrocity and Israel
punches through the defences into the Sihni. The UN attempts to convince them to stop, but they
refuse the nerve gas has really hammered the moderates in the Israeli Government. After a week of
savage fighting, Israel has smashed its way to the Suez, forcing Egypt out of the region.
Israel informs the world that it intends to hold onto the region this time, in order to prevent further
treachery.

Greed And Obitivity
In a society with too much greed and possessions can lead the world that is inhumane. People are
never satisfied with what they currently have, they always desire for more or better than this or
that person. Throughout history and literature, greed is a classic topic in human development
that naturally affects many of our decisions. Of Course, people would agree that increase of
possessions is a way to motivate us in order to reach a certain height of success. Greed doesn t
mean you have a sin, it s just how the world works. There is an old saying, If you want
something, work for it. Greed doesn t mean selfish, people just want to work toward their goals
and increase their status in a cruel society that is full of judgemental people. Without greediness
in our life, it would be like plain bread, without the peanut butter or the jam. One particular
person in history that is well known for his ambitious action and power hungry was Hitler. Hitler
used many of his tactics for people to vote for him motivational speech and make Germany
better, this way people can follow Hitler. Once Hitler had abundance followers, he wanted to
dictate people live and used violence against people who disobeyed his orders. Since Hitler was a
very ambitious person, he wanted to rule all of Germany and Europe and to make Germany better ,
he gets rid of unwanted people, which are the Jews by sending them to the concentration camp. In
addition, the Jews are lack of nutrition and

Nonverbal Expectance Violation Theory
As I researched various theories, the Nonverbal Expectancy Violation Theory stood out to me the
most. Neuliep (2015) has described this theory as people holding expectancies about the
appropriateness of the nonverbal behaviors of others. The Nonverbal Expectancy Theory (NEV)
was formulated by Dr. Judee Burgoon. Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) states the basic tenet
undergirding NEV theory holds that individuals have expectations of how things will be and how
people will behave. Sidelinger and Bolen also states that expectancy refers to what an individual
expects or predicts will happen in an interaction. When we make an assumption, we are partaking in
expectancies. Burgoon (as cited by Sidelinger and Biolen, 2015) notes that what we expect in an
interaction is based on three factors, context, relationship, and communicator characteristics.
Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) believes that our expectancy can be determined by our environment.
For an example, the way I communicate at the playground with my children is different than how I
communicate at the grocery store. The expectancy of relationships is based on the connection we
have with the person with whom we are interacting with. Finally, Sidelinger and Bolen (2015),
states that communicator characteristics refer to the demographics (gender, age, race etc.) of the
other in the interaction and additional characteristics such as the other s communicationstyle.
Additionally, the perception of how we view someone plays a role in how we expect them to
react or interact. If I am playing with a Poodle, I expect it to be fun, playful, and bubbly. If I am
playing with a Rottweiler, I expect it to be aggressive and assertive. While these are my
expectancy of the dogs it could turn out to be the opposite of my assumption. There are two types
of expectancies. Predictive and prescriptive. Offering a counterpoint to this perspective is nonverbal
expectancy violations theory, which posits that violating social norms and expectations may
sometimes be a superior strategy to conformity in achieving such communication outcomes as
attraction, credibility, helping behavior, and persuasion, Burgoon and Aho,; Burgoon, Coker, and

Teen Pregnancy, Abortion Rates, And Hiv Statistics
America is known for being a superpower, and this is absolutely true when it comes to leading
the Westernized world in teen pregnancy, abortion rates, and HIV statistics (pink). In 1999,
about half of US high school seniors said they d had sex within three months of the survey taken
(pink). 71% of Americans said they d had sex by the age of 19, and the typical age of first sexual
experience was reported to be 17 (purple).
According to the Guttmacher Institute, teen sex statistics have been steadily decreasing since the
1980s (purple). Contraceptive use between the ages of 15 19 has increased from 48% in 1982 to
78% between 2006 2010 (purple). There is a correlation between increased condom use in the states

Only 43% of sexually active female teenagers received counseling or testing for STIs within the
last year (purple). Marginalized teens (LGBTQIA, homeless, teens of color, teens in foster care)
are the most likely candidates for HIV/AIDS infections (pink).
Pregnancy is a similar story. Nearly 615,000 teenage women become pregnant on a yearly basis
(purple). That is 6% of the teenage population a record low in 2010. This number was down 51%
from 1990 s statistics (purple). This drastic decrease has been a result of more teenagers using
contraceptives (purple). Still, this rate is double that of Canada s and Sweden s teen pregnancy
rates (purple). The states with highest teen pregnancy rates were New Mexico, followed by
Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. The states with the lowest teen pregnancy rates were
New Hampshire, Vermont, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Maine (purple). Most of these
pregnancies were that of unwed mothers. Women living in poverty are nearly four times more
likely to become pregnant than those in better socioeconomic situations (red). Teen fathers were
two times as likely to be black than white.
These numbers are staggering compared to our European counterparts. Statistics show that teens in
the United States and Europe are engaging in similar levels of sexual activity, but that European
teenagers are more likely to use contraceptives, which is why they have much lower teen pregnancy
rates (purple).

The Importance Of Gender Bias
One of the most debated topics in modern society today is equality. Most everyone agrees that all
people are equal, however, most everyone is also implicitly biased about genders whenever it
comes to careers. For example, imagine for a moment a random piano teacher. What gender did you
automatically think of them as? You more than likely initially imaged a female piano teacher. Now,
imagine a random surgeon/ doctor. What genderdid you automatically see them as? You probably
imaged them as a male. If so, you are experiencing implicit gender bias. Unfortunately, you are
not alone in this; society itself implicitly assigns males to scientific careers and women to liberal
arts. Implicit bias are the completely unconscious stereotypes and attitudes we have towards
society that affects our decisions and understanding of things. The key word in that definition is
unconscious. Most people do not even realize they hold this bias; you might not have even
realized you were experiencing this bias until reading this paragraph. This ignorance is one of
the main reasons this bias is still occurring on a daily basis to most of humanity, and it is the
main reason there is such a gender divide in careers today. It is hypothesized that helping people
identify their implicit bias (specifically gender career bias) and providing them with basic
education and strategies on the topic itself will reduce their gender career bias. The rather recent
development of social media has been helpful to

Ray Bradbury: His View on Technology
Ray Bradbury as a person has no particular fondness or aversion to technology, yet as a writer he
is disapproves of the way society has become so lazy and dependent on machinery. Bradbury warns
his readers of the consequences of technology. Technology is a wondrous invention that sparks
creativity in others, yet it has as much negative potential as it has positive potential. the same
technology that is used to make life simpler can cause nuclear destruction. Bradbury himself has no
particular fondness or aversion to technology, but his writing always warns of the consequences of
being too dependent on technology. Usually his stories revolve around modern problems, which

Bradbury predicts what technology could do to society through the morals of The Veldt, The
Pedestrian, and There Will Come Soft Rains.
In his story, The Veldt , Bradbury displays the terrors of America s devotion to material goods
and how it affects society s technology usage. The story is centered on an average American
family of four living in a futuristic smart house. The house has a device called the nursery, which
is a sort of metaphor for the television. The nursery is triggered my images in the mind of the
controller and produces holographic images onto the walls of the room. After the pampered
Peter and Wendy Hadley are denied a trip on a helicopter, they begin to envision a sweltering,
African veldt. This veldt seems to represent the psychological sate of the Hadley family. Bradbury
s description of the veldt is so vivid that it seems as if the children were actually in an African
savannah and not daydreaming in the middle of the United States. Those two children are said to
have a rather high intelligence in the story, yet they do not seem to act maturely. This fact is
evident in

Sir/Madam, STRENGTHENING RETENTION, IMPROVING INCLUSION AND
EXPANDING COVERAGE IN HEALTHY FEEDING PROGRAMS ACROSS TEXAS
DISTRICTS This letter seeks to provide a detailed exposition of a multi faceted aspect of the
challenge of food insecurity in Texas and a proposal of clear cut practical solutions. The hope is
that through the publication of this piece, the issue will assume centre stage and attract the needed
response. Over the years, notable healthy feeding intervention programs across different
government and community levels have been channelled to Texas in response to the much
documented challenge of widespread food insecurity across the state. These programs have
contributed in varying degrees to mitigating the crisis of food insecurity in the state (Children at
Risk, 2016). However, progress in retention of beneficiaries and expansion of coverage has
remained a real challenge. For there to be a sustained substantial reversal of food insecurity in
Texas, a clear determination backed by concrete plans to remove obstacles to continued coverage
and expansion for further inclusion must be prioritized. It is important to renew critical focus on
the devastating impact of food insecurity and its vast spread in the United States in

Impact Of Historical Globalization On Contemporary Society
This source expresses its view on impacts of historical globalization on contemporary society. The
perspective of this source clearly states that historical globalization is not relevant or needed in
current society. Elements of the source explain how society should not spend time dwelling on
events or legacies of globalization that can not be changed. It is clear that the author of this source
has reason to believe that history should not affect the way our world is run today. The perspective
presented in the source illustrates that historical globalization is a very complex issue. One
perspective suggests that historical globalization should remain in the pastbecause we should not be
wasting timeon events of the past and focus on the presentand the future. Others, however, believe
that history is relevant to the present and is important in today s society. In evaluating the issue, it
is clear there are both positives and negatives to historical globalization in contemporary society
because it prevents history from repeating itself, allows us to improve upon ourselves, but also
prevents us from focusing on the future.
Historical globalization is important in today s society, as it prevents troubled times from
repeating. There is no doubt that our world has failed many times in the past. But, as said by many
wise people, you can always learn from your mistakes. Indian Residential Schools are an example
something we can learn from and prevent from happening again in

The Courtship of Mr. Lyon Angela Carter This short story involves almost an identical plot to the
original Beauty and the Beast. The theme expressed throughout both is that beauty is what s on the
inside, rather than what s on the outside, which is portrayed through the main character, Beauty.
The author used the circumstances of Beauty s father to show that her sweetness and her gravity
was transformed into a lacquer of the invincible prettiness that characterizes certain pampered,
exquisite, expensive cats by his restored wealth (Carter 143). While the story involves elements of
storytelling just by following the plot of the original tale, it s lacking emotion. The author of this

approach as the future has numerous possibilities for positive change.
The Miracle Question, which a serious of three exercises which can be used in the first session

The Miracle Question is future orientated and asks the client to envisage a time free from any

extremely useful for a client whose goals are indistinguishable as it can elucidate where they want
to be. The follow up questions are designed to give the client a glimpse of their possible problem

Expense of the Iran-Iraq War
Costing up to $1,000,000,000 monthly and possible over $300,000,000,000 in material terms
(Swearingen, 1988) over the course of the conflict, the Iran Iraq War was at face value, an attempt
by Iraq to compel Iran to recognize Iraq s territorial rights and to renegotiate the 1975 treaty.
Initially, Iraqseemed to have either no clearly formulated strategic goals or had fallen short of
them the first reaction one would have when hearing that Iraq called for a cease fire 6 days in and
issued a set of demands which included a renegotiation of the treaty, return of the islands to the
UAE and the non participation and non interaction of Iranwithin the Gulf community.
Most see Iraq coming out of the war as more powerful in absolute power terms but not in relation
to the rising power of its neighbours (Parasiliti, 2003, p. 160). According to Parasilati (2003)
Iraq s reliance on its economic strategic rents the billions of loans and grants given by the West
and other Arab Gulf states undercut its power relative to its neighbours. Even though it may seem
like Iraq hadn t lost territorially, its bid for power failed and dropped it deeper into debt. In
addition, the only positive aspect of the war was the slight increase in the national pride amongst
Iraqis but none of the important geopolitical issues were addressed.
There was no change in the 1975 agreement over the Shatt al Arab waterway (Bahadori, 2005, p.
3) nor was Iraq the pre dominant power in the Gulf.

Adequate Mental Illness In The United States
Introduction Mental illness has similar and equally detrimental symptoms to physical illness. It
touches the lives of everyone, whether you are affected by it personally, or have a friend and/or
family member suffering from one. Approximately one in five adults suffers from a mental disorder
each year (NAMI, 2016). Unfortunately, no matter how real mental illness is, it has not shaken the
stigma or gained the proper attention from the health care system and insurance companies it needs
to be able to treat and prevent psychotic episodes. Often times, the communities idea of helping the
issue is by removing the affected from society, or ignoring the problem altogether. For those
afflicted with mental disorders, it has lead to discrimination, homelessness, and even suicide. As the

Apple has done well in focusing on the customer s needs and wants as it is related to the quality
of the product or service as well as price. Apple uses promotional and advertising tools to capture
the attention, interest, and desire of the consumer. Apple captures our attention and interest
through innovating and sleek imagery of their products on Apple s official website as well as
keynotes and other publication (Villefranche, 2011). For example Apple just released the I phone
5 which was highly anticipated and the publicity that Apple had prior to the release was
tremendous and also brought in many new customers. It has been said that the first weekend the I
phone 5 was available they sold 5 million phones. Apple made a plan and set up objectives and
goals that they desired. Through integrated marketing they have met those goals and it allows for
them to set higher goals and reach them as well. Apple also knows their competitors very well and
this allows them to be in this market and compete very well. Communication is an area that all
companies must value. If a customer has a need or want they must be able to communicate that to
the company. This will allow the company to achieve optimal satisfaction with their customers.
This will be beneficial to the company because with optimal customer satisfaction

became a rebel leader who gets very close to turning Rome upside down with a rebellion lead by
the Thracian. Aldo also sheds light on Spartacuss end goals of the rebellion which hadn t been very
clear until after reading the book. Spartacus was an enslaved gladiator who hoped to turn a

where Spartacus begins to build the army that was used in the rebellion. According to
Schiavone, Spartacus had something different in mind, which prompted him to pursue a
specific goal to build an army and continue to fight (41). Here its provided a temporary goal of
Spartacus that tell us he wanted to build up his forces to fight Rome and what it stood for at the
time. This is exactly what they continued to do throughout part two. They go from village to
village grabbing the necessary supplies and volunteers to the cause. Doing all of this while
fighting off roman troops that are dispatched to take care of Spartacus. According to Florus,
Plutarch, and Appian, Spartacus had a battle against Varinius who was lucky to have survived,

the end of part two. The rebel commander decided to split his forces into two groups hoping to
cover more ground and gather more supplies and troops. Spartacus was head of one group while
his arena Companion form Capua Crixus lead the other. The roman forces would do the same
and divide into group running into Crixus first. Schiavone puts it best Crixus most have been a

with a good portion of his men before Spartacus is able to provide support. This would be a blow to

Analysis Of Mythmaker By Natasha Trethewey

can shape the exact nature of the bond, a child s caretaker is the first to introduce them to the
world. And as they grow and begin to branch out, children look to their parents as a model for how
to interact with the various new situations. Through allusion, potent imagery, and nostalgic diction,
Natasha Trethewey constructs an idolized image of a father guiding their child through life s

Using the myth of Icarus, the speaker establishes the importance of myths in her relationship with
her father and the lessons that follow them as they mature. Furthering the importance of mythology
in the speaker s adolescence, the speaker transitions into the story of Narcissus, the man so
enraptured by his own reflection, he disregarded those who tried to save him from himself. The
speaker employs subtle references to the myth through visual imagery such as his watered face
floating / beautiful and tragic (14 15). Alongside the speaker s description of their own face as a
mirrored comfort, this careful choice of words reinforces the speaker s connection to the tale and
how it was relevant in their own life (17). By again utilizing kinesthetic imagery to describe how
their father pulls them to safety, the speaker has further established him as the active force in her
learning and maturation, guiding her away from life s problems and stepping in when necessary.
Once again, the father is the hero of the story, saving his child from becoming to entrapped in

Similarities Between Hindu And Zoroastrianism
The historical difference starts when a group named Aryan separates into two where one moves to
India and the other moves to Iran. To date it is believed that Zoroastrianism came as a child
religion of Rigvedic which is a more ancient religion. It was practiced among some Aryans. This
can then explain some of the differences and similarities between Hindu and Zoroastrianism. The
differences are as a result of them wanting to make the child religiondistinct from the mother
religion. Zoroastrianism was commonly practiced in Iran and ended up being the most ancient
monotheistic religion with a huge following. Those who went to India were met with different
climatic conditions and hence had to change their lifestyle. This would include their religious
beliefs but they kept some of the Vedic beliefs. For those in Iran most of the Vedic practices were
lost and only few of them were left of which were in the Zoroastrian religion. Zoroastrianism was a
monotheistic and messianic which most teachings revolved round prophet Zoroaster, this would
lead to very few similarities between this religion and Hinduism. Vedic tradition which was a
common factor was slowly eliminated in the Zoroastrian by use of the teachings and in the end
severing any connections between the two. The differences between the Vedic and the Zoroastrian
religion are more of a coincidence and less of an intent. The former Vedic religion that existed
disappeared widely on the introduction

Marketing strategy of Samsung mobile phone.
The global communications industry has been changing during the past few years, and quite
dramatically. Wireless communication, as a result, proves to be a hot area for telecom suppliers.
Accordingly, the demand for handset products, from businesses to consumers continues to rise. The
question is how handset manufacturers have fit their global marketingstrategies to win widespread
acceptance as competition intensifies. Thus, this analysis highlights Samsung s recent success as a
very typical case in point to the above question. In more focus, the purpose of this analysis is to
examine:

Thus, global marketing does suggest that reaching global consumers is a strategically intended
outcome of a hybrid strategic approach. In more details, four main factors included in the above
mentioned approach are product, price, place, and promotion. In other words, when marketing their
products, whether locally or globally, firms need to create a successful mix of:
* the right product
* sold at the right price
* in the right place
* using the most suitable promotion.
1. 1. Product decisions
A product is defined as: Anything that is capable of satisfying customer needs . Then the product is
the central point on which marketing energy must focus. Finding out how to make the product,
setting up the production line, providing the finance and manufacturing the product are not the
responsibility of the only marketing function. However, it is also concerned with what the product
means to the customer. Marketing therefore plays a key role in determining such aspects as:
* the appearance of the product in line with the requirements of the market
* the function of the product products must address the needs of customers as identified through
market research.
Businesses need to regularly develop new products and markets for future growth. A useful way of
looking at growth opportunities is the
Ansoff Growth Matrix which suggests

Pros And Cons Of Organ Donation Should Not Be Compulsory
Organ donation is based on a simple concept of respect, if you want to donate you can, or if you are
concerned about if you don t have to. It s a personal choice. Making organ donation compulsory isn
t as easy as it is said. I believe that there will be a lot of problems if organ donation is made
compulsory in Australia. Firstly, it would upset a lot of people who follow various religions.
Secondly, a lot of money would be required to make this a reality. Lastly, people will be deprived of
their freedom of choice. Therefore I believe that organdonation should not be made compulsory.
Mandatory organ donation would affect numerous people that follow various religions. Every
religion has its own beliefs about organ donation. For example in Hinduism they believe that the
body should not be tampered before cremation or they will be dammed in their after life. Now
knowing this, if the government make rules that force people to go beyond their consent and
religion why do we call ourselves a democratic country? Now this may sound ridiculous from a
science point of view, but those who believe in this it is a reality in the state of mind. Therefore I
believe that forcefully legislating laws in favour of compulsory organ donation is unreasonable,
unnecessary and unintelligent.
Making organ donation compulsory comes with an astronomical cost. The government would need
to spend the money we pay as taxes to hire skilled medical professionals, buy advanced surgical
equipment and create

King Louis XIV is a regal king who values order and beauty; That is why he should purchase
PoussinВґs painting to represent his reign. PoussinВґs painting is full of order and unity; yet it

painting has the same show of emotion that a king needs and that King Louis XIV has. Nadera
Suleiman said, ВЁControl of emotions or lack of control causes empires to flourish or fall.ВЁ The
compositional symmetry in PoussinВґs painting shows control; Poussin has perfected the art of

Feminsim in Like Water For Chocolate by Laura Esquivel Essay
How does the author of Like Water for Chocolate depict her feminist views and how do they
contribute to two different themes of the novel? In the novel Like Water for Chocolate, Laura
Esquivel exposes her strong feminist attitude through a controlling first person limited narration and
a detailed, descriptive portrayal of the characters. This exploitation of feminist views supports two
major themes: change in traditional attitudes towards authority and freedom of expression. In this
novel, Laura Esquivel shows how Mexican women can overcome the powerful traditional authority
of men and the traditional mindset of women; and how women can overcome society s suppression
and express themselves freely. . These two themes have a direct... Show more content on

The narrator can manipulate certain vies on certain characters. For example, throughout the novel
the reader obtains Tita s bashful point of view on Rosaura and Mama Elena s arrogance and
ignorance. If the narration would be something like third person omniscient, it would be up to the
reader to decide whether or not you think Tita is saying the truth, or if she s just being a selfish,
immature teenager that can handle growing up. Esquivel uses the first person narrator to implore
her feminist message and point of vie across to the reader
Change in attitude towards authority and freedom of expression can be seen through the way the
narrator creates sympathy for Tita and creates a masculine, authoritative character for Mama
Elena. Tita represents the woman who can think as an individual moving on and changing
dominant authoritative views on her and that can express herself freely. Mama Elena has the
mannish attitude and character because she represents the woman that has already gone through
years of suppression and plans to suppress her daughter just like they did to her. Tita being the
last child is obliged to take care of her mother until she passes away, this silly tradition does not
let her marry or have a family of her own. Mama Elena also can also represent men, who have
suppressed women forever in Mexico; but Laura Esquivel s main intention is to show woman s
suppression of women. A change in attitude toward authority

I can see this principle in action from what he says about politics. In an interview with Business
Insider, he says, I don t want to be a Democrat. Until things change, I ll sit in the middle and think
for myself. Unlike the Republicans. When I was young, my mom always told me to be a leader,
not a follower. Cuban directly explains this concept from what he says. He will not believe what
everyone says just to fit in, he will tell then what he thinks. And if they won t let him join their
party because of it, so be it. Just like other great leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr and
Abraham Lincoln, he isn t afraid to say I disagree . Another way he shows that he understands
how to be a leader is in another quote from the same interview. He states, Leaders are not
dogmatic. They are principled and know that change is never easy, but when it s necessary, they
must lead. Nobody can understand principles unless they themselves are principled. Cuban also
reveals his leadership through the way he runs his companies. There are a lot of companies that

Spiders can be found in all environments throughout the entire world, except in the air and sea.
(Biology of Spiders, R.Foelix) These invertebrates of the order Aranea are one of the several groups
of the Class Arachnida, with about thirty four thousand species.
They range in body size from only a few millimeters in length to almost five inches.
All are carniverous and have four pair of walking legs, one pair of pedipalps, and one pair of
chelicerae. (Spiders, W.Shear) Each chelicerae consists of a base and a fang.
The fang folds up inside of a groove in the base until needed when attacking food, then moves out

There are some spitting spiders that have only six, and there are some with only two or four
eyes. Some cave spiders have no eyes at all and rely only on vibration. There are great
differences in the ways which spiders capture prey. Some may stalk their prey, while others may
lie in wait and ambush it. Other spiders may weave various types of webs used to capture passing
prey, and there are some smaller commensal spiders that live in larger spiders webs and feed on
the smaller insects neglected by their host. (The Spider Book, J.Comstock)
All spiders spin silk, though not all of them weave webs. Silk is most commonly seen used in
forming webs, which may vary from a highly elaborated orb of spiraling threads to a single
sticky string. Most webs can be placed into one of four different types: the orb webs, the funnel
webs, tangle webs, and the sheet webs. The main purpose of a web is for catching prey. With orb
weavers (Araneidae), the spider will first form a supporting structure of frame threads to which it
will then add on radial threads.
(Biology of Spiders, R.Foelix) These tightly strung threads provide quick access to any where on
the web, and also carry any vibrations from the outer perimeter to the center.
(The Spider Book, J.Comstock) After the innitial threads are placed, the spider will build on a

The Problem Of A Stock Trading System Based On Prediction...
Executive Summary
The dissertation project addresses the problem of trying to build a stock trading system based
on prediction models obtained with daily stock quotes data. We will apply different models to
predict the returns of IBM stocks at the New York Stock Exchange. These predictions will be
used together with a trading rule that will generate buy and sell signals. This chapter addresses
several new data mining issues: (1) how to use R to analyze data stored in a database; (2) how to
handle prediction problems where there is a time ordering among training cases (usually known as a
time series); (3) and the consequences of wanting to translate model predictions into actions.
3.1 Problem description and objectives
Stock market trading is an application domain with a big potential for data mining.
In effect, the existence of an enormous amount of historical data suggests that data mining can
provide a competitive advantage over human inspection of this data. On the other hand there are
authors claiming that the markets adapt so rapidly in terms of price adjustments that there is no
space to obtain profits in a consistent way. This is usually known as the efficient markets hypothesis.
This theory has been successively replaced by more relaxed versions that leave some space for
trading opportunities.
The general goal of stock trading is to maintain a portfolio of stocks based on buy and sell orders.
The long term objective is to achieve as much profit as possible from these

Promises are to be true to happen, but sometimes those promises are broken and never to happen.
An example of a promise that did come true was to make racial justice. This promised was made by
Martin Luther King Jr. s in his speech, I Have a Dream. In his speech, he promised to make

In 1816, a French physician named Rene Laennec invented the stethoscope, which allowed
physicians to listen to the lungs of patients with asthma. Laennec was convinced that the muscles

allowed physicians to measure the strength of a patient s lungs, as well as how much air could be

The Marriage Debate in The Canterbury Tales Essay
The Cost of Marriage In Geoffrey Chaucer s work, The Canterbury Tales, many travelers gather

examine the concept of marriage and the problems that arise from this bonding of two people. In
the tales of The Franklin , The Clerk , The Wife of Bath , and The Merchant , marriage is debated

exemplifies. Dorigen s patience and perseverance allow her marriage to succeed. Patience is
vital in a marriage and without it, problems begin to arise. In The Merchant s Tale , January is

incident took place, the Tiananmen Square Massacre. July 4th, 1989, thousands of students
gathered outside Tiananmen Square to protest for a more democratic government. Chinese

Dreams of Blacks Deferred in the Poetry of Langston Hughes
The poetry of Langston Hughes, the poet laureate of Harlem, is an effective commentary on the
condition of blacks in America during the 20th Century. Hughes places particular emphasis on
Harlem, a black area in New York that became a destination of many hopeful blacks in the first
half of the 1900 s. In much of Hughes poetry, a theme that runs throughout is that of a dream
deferred. The recurrence of a dream deferred in several Hughes poems paints a clear picture of the
disappointment and dismay that blacks in America faced in Harlem. Furthermore, as each poem
develops, so does the feeling behind a dream deferred, growing more serious and even angry with
each new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When blacks arrived in Harlem, though, their dream was deferred; instead of the opportunities
they had envisioned, they were faced with overcrowding, exploitation, and poverty. At the
beginning of Harlem, the mood that accompanies a dream deferred is a questioning one that
begins a search for definition. This mood, which will develop as each poem progresses, induces
the reader to reflect upon the meaning of a dream deferred, preparing them for its development.
The poem continues, listing the possible fates of a dream that never becomes reality. It suggests
that maybe the dream will dry up / like a raisin in the sun, withering up and disappearing. Maybe
it will stink like rotten meat, becoming a sickening reminder of what will never be. Perhaps the
dream will crust and sugar over; Hughes seems to be saying here that the dream deferred might
be covered up by society with a veil of normalcy. The most powerful line in Harlem, though, is
the last line: Or does it explode? This line, in italics for emphasis, makes obvious the severity of a
postponed dream, especially the dream of the blacks in Harlem. For a people who have been
oppressed for centuries, the denial of yet another dream is not taken lightly. With the final line,
Hughes seems to be hinting at a revolution, alluding to the idea that

Medication Off Label Is A Patient Right
Medications off label is a patient right. The Brazilian pharmaceutical market is the ninth largest
in the world and the second among the BRIC countries (First is China, with Russia and India
occupying third and fourth), annually handling about R $ 28 billion, a growth trend. Among the
six largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, four are Brazilian. Currently there are about
540 pharmaceutical companies registered in Brazil. The growth of this sector, in general, has
been remarkable and very favorable to patients. The high investment in research and
development of new drugs allowed disease very recently (from a historical point of view) taken
by incurable or high mortality rate may gradually being controlled by the use of drugs and. In
some cases, this evolution walks to the discovery of a cure. AIDS may be cited as notorious
example, emerged in Brazil in the early 80s, with a high rate of mortality and suffering, and only
16 years later, it became a disease that through the drugs allow the infected person lead a normal
life, in a chronic and controllable way . However, according to economic data released by the
Association of Pharmaceutical Research (Interfarma) in Brazil they invested just over $ 139
million in research, while in the world they invested $ 40 billion. Brazil s participation in clinical
trials worldwide is 1.2%, and the time taken for approval of a clinical trial in Brazil is between 10
and 14 months. Between 2005 and 2009 the international patent

Chipotle Company Case Study
Yes, transparency is important in all companies. Transparency is easier for some than others.
Transparency operates in such a way that it is easy for other people to see what action is taken. It
has been defined as the quality that is seen as intentionally shared information of the sender.
Transparency is practiced in companies, organizations, administration, and society. It guides the
decisions and policies of the organization to the disclosure of information to workers and the
general public, or only the intended recipient of information.
For Chipotle Company, transparency is particularly important in leadership. Therefore, these
products have gained the confidence and trust among customers is high. He believes that sales will

Some companies that do not practice transparency in business will affect the community. The
products produced by the company will have adverse effects as a result producer does not

Carlody Hobson Speech Analysis
Imagine living in a world that is seemingly against all that you are and all that you want to be.
Through modern stereotypes and accustomed oppression, the odds are working against minorities.
As a society we have become familiarized with the comfort of color blindness, this is a term used
for the ignorance that surrounds diversity issues today. Mellody Hobson, executive president of
Ariel Investments, is an African American woman that has chosen to confront the lack of
understandinginvolving diversity issues involving race, gender, sexuality, religion, socioeconomic
status, and education and tagging it as ColorBravery. Throughout her discussion, Hobson engages
and connects with her audiencethrough her personal stories, facial expressions, tone of voice, and
passion about diversity. Hobson sees her audience as individuals who are struggling to understand
the diversity issues that surround race, gender, and religion. She assumes that her audience has little
awareness of the institutionalized injustices minorities face everyday. With that being said, she does
not use her discussion to ridicule or judge them for not understanding the real problems involving
diversity, instead she focuses on opening their eyes to begin to understand the obstacles our society
needs to overcome in order to start celebrating diversity. Throughout her speech, Hobson infers that
her audience needs a little help grasping the significance of her anecdotes. For example, she starts
her discussion

Commercial Recuperation Essay
Commercial Recuperation
Essentially what Hebdige is saying with his statement is that eventually a subcultures generic
trademarks will cross over into the mainstream. This will in tern render the original intentions of
subversion diluted pastiches of there former representations.
The validity of this statement is interesting in two ways. Firstly are subcultures subversive qualities
diluted through popularisation? And secondly and perhaps more importantly in terms of more
contemporary subcultural representations; how valid is the statement that what might be
considered subcultures are actually subversive in terms of attempted displacement of a dominant
ideology.
It is these two areas with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But more than this was the relevant timing of the punk movement and subsequently, why it is so
important as an example within this discussion. The high unemployment rates and the economic
uncertainly present throughout Britain where largely to blame. As was the realisation that the
promised age of prosperity and utopia promised by the passing generation was never going to
come to the present one. As Polhemus puts it had Mclaren and Westwood not been around to toss
a few sticks of dynamite in the right direction an eruption would have occurred anyway (1993:90).
Punk saw itself as being in direct conflict with the established order it felt had betrayed a generation
as John Fisk highlights the main function of conflict sub cultural groups in his article The Popular
Economy
The power domain in within which popular culture works is largely, but not exclusively, that of
semiotic power. One major articulation of this power is the struggle between homogenisation and
difference, or between consensus and conflict (Quoted in Storey, 1994:511)
The movement was just that; a movement. It not only had it s own music and political overtones in
nihilism and anarchy it also had it s own

The Benefits of Organics Essay
Organic or non organic? That is the question! And the answer to this question happens to be
organic. I d love think that everyone shares my thoughts on this but others aren t so willing to
accept this. The fact is that the majority of the population doesn t agree with my opinion that
going organic leads to a healthier life style. As it is there is constant debate as to whether
chemically processed foods are better than organically grown foods, mind you both sides have
their pros and cons, but in the end organic is the obvious choice. Yet despite the apparent win that
organic products have over its counterpart, people still don t fully understand what is wrong with
the chemically processed. What is worse yet is that the public typically... Show more content on

Instead organic farmers use natural fertilizers like green manure, compost, and cover crops to put
nutrients back in the soil. In addition, methods such as crop rotation and hand weeding are used to
create a more diverse ecological system to naturally grow pest s predators.
Healthy seeds are selected and used in Organic farming, seeds that are genetically altered are not
used. As far as livestock are concerned: they are given a proper diet, and adequate exposure to the
outdoors. Good animal treatment standards or husbandry as they call it are maintained in organic
farming. No antibiotics are used on animals, but homeopathic medicine is used, just in case an
animal gets sick. If a farmer gives antibiotics to an animal, he loses his certificate for organic
farming and he has to start all over and earn his certificate again. Growth hormones are also not
used in organic animal husbandry.
The concept of being organic is by no means a new thing. In fact if you go back you ll realize
that organic farming was the way of things, not because people were more health conscience or
anything, but simply because there wasn t any other way. There was no need for these chemicals.
So where did our modern farming techniques come from? Easy; the 1930 s just wasn t a great time
for the United States. With the great depression the world s economy was already plummeting and

  • 2. History Of The Bubonic Plague When a matter such as the Bubonic Plague strikes in a world unexposed to the current technology and information citizens tend to create false cures and treatments. These treatments are highly dangerous and unhygienic. A common treatment used was bloodletting, which was the act of extracting blood from a patient to remove the disease. Similar to bloodletting was boil lancing which is when you take a knife to slice the buboes until they bursted. Buboes were a symptom of the Bubonic Plaguedescribed as a swollen inflamed lymph node. Others however believed in superstitious practices, for example burning aromatic herbs and bathing in rose water or vinegar. Some more eccentric treatments included witchcraft and potion making which many were persecuted for practicing. Now it is known that the treatments above were inefficient in curing and or preventing the bubonic plague. Then we have the anti seminists who believed that Jews were the ones to blame for the spreading of the disease. • 4. Greed And Obitivity In a society with too much greed and possessions can lead the world that is inhumane. People are never satisfied with what they currently have, they always desire for more or better than this or that person. Throughout history and literature, greed is a classic topic in human development that naturally affects many of our decisions. Of Course, people would agree that increase of possessions is a way to motivate us in order to reach a certain height of success. Greed doesn t mean you have a sin, it s just how the world works. There is an old saying, If you want something, work for it. Greed doesn t mean selfish, people just want to work toward their goals and increase their status in a cruel society that is full of judgemental people. Without greediness in our life, it would be like plain bread, without the peanut butter or the jam. One particular person in history that is well known for his ambitious action and power hungry was Hitler. Hitler used many of his tactics for people to vote for him motivational speech and make Germany better, this way people can follow Hitler. Once Hitler had abundance followers, he wanted to dictate people live and used violence against people who disobeyed his orders. • 5. Nonverbal Expectance Violation Theory As I researched various theories, the Nonverbal Expectancy Violation Theory stood out to me the most. Neuliep (2015) has described this theory as people holding expectancies about the appropriateness of the nonverbal behaviors of others. The Nonverbal Expectancy Theory (NEV) was formulated by Dr. Judee Burgoon. Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) states the basic tenet undergirding NEV theory holds that individuals have expectations of how things will be and how people will behave. Sidelinger and Bolen also states that expectancy refers to what an individual expects or predicts will happen in an interaction. When we make an assumption, we are partaking in expectancies. Burgoon (as cited by Sidelinger and Biolen, 2015) notes that what we expect in an interaction is based on three factors, context, relationship, and communicator characteristics. Sidelinger and Bolen (2015) believes that our expectancy can be determined by our environment. For an example, the way I communicate at the playground with my children is different than how I communicate at the grocery store. The expectancy of relationships is based on the connection we have with the person with whom we are interacting with. Finally, Sidelinger and Bolen (2015), states that communicator characteristics refer to the demographics (gender, age, race etc.) of the other in the interaction and additional characteristics such as the other s communicationstyle. Additionally, the perception of how we view someone plays a role in how we expect them to react or interact. If I am playing with a Poodle, I expect it to be fun, playful, and bubbly. If I am playing with a Rottweiler, I expect it to be aggressive and assertive. While these are my expectancy of the dogs it could turn out to be the opposite of my assumption. There are two types of expectancies. Predictive and prescriptive. Offering a counterpoint to this perspective is nonverbal expectancy violations theory, which posits that violating social norms and expectations may sometimes be a superior strategy to conformity in achieving such communication outcomes as attraction, credibility, helping behavior, and persuasion, Burgoon and Aho,; Burgoon, Coker, and Coker, Burgoon and Hale; Burgoon and Jones; Burgoon, ... • 7. The Importance Of Gender Bias One of the most debated topics in modern society today is equality. Most everyone agrees that all people are equal, however, most everyone is also implicitly biased about genders whenever it comes to careers. For example, imagine for a moment a random piano teacher. What gender did you automatically think of them as? You more than likely initially imaged a female piano teacher. Now, imagine a random surgeon/ doctor. What genderdid you automatically see them as? You probably imaged them as a male. If so, you are experiencing implicit gender bias. Unfortunately, you are not alone in this; society itself implicitly assigns males to scientific careers and women to liberal arts. Implicit bias are the completely unconscious stereotypes and attitudes we have towards society that affects our decisions and understanding of things. The key word in that definition is unconscious. Most people do not even realize they hold this bias; you might not have even realized you were experiencing this bias until reading this paragraph. This ignorance is one of the main reasons this bias is still occurring on a daily basis to most of humanity, and it is the main reason there is such a gender divide in careers today. It is hypothesized that helping people identify their implicit bias (specifically gender career bias) and providing them with basic education and strategies on the topic itself will reduce their gender career bias. The rather recent development of social media has been helpful to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Over the years, notable healthy feeding intervention programs across different government and community levels have been channelled to Texas in response to the much documented challenge of widespread food insecurity across the state. These programs have contributed in varying degrees to mitigating the crisis of food insecurity in the state (Children at Risk, 2016). However, progress in retention of beneficiaries and expansion of coverage has remained a real challenge. The perspective of this source clearly states that historical globalization is not relevant or needed in current society. Elements of the source explain how society should not spend time dwelling on events or legacies of globalization that can not be changed. It is clear that the author of this source has reason to believe that history should not affect the way our world is run today. The perspective presented in the source illustrates that historical globalization is a very complex issue. One perspective suggests that historical globalization should remain in the pastbecause we should not be wasting timeon events of the past and focus on the presentand the future. Others, however, believe that history is relevant to the present and is important in today s society. In evaluating the issue, it is clear there are both positives and negatives to historical globalization in contemporary society because it prevents history from repeating itself, allows us to improve upon ourselves, but also prevents us from focusing on the future. Historical globalization is important in today s society, as it prevents troubled times from repeating. There is no doubt that our world has failed many times in the past. • 21. Similarities Between Hindu And Zoroastrianism The historical difference starts when a group named Aryan separates into two where one moves to India and the other moves to Iran. To date it is believed that Zoroastrianism came as a child religion of Rigvedic which is a more ancient religion. It was practiced among some Aryans. This can then explain some of the differences and similarities between Hindu and Zoroastrianism. The differences are as a result of them wanting to make the child religiondistinct from the mother religion. Zoroastrianism was commonly practiced in Iran and ended up being the most ancient monotheistic religion with a huge following. Those who went to India were met with different climatic conditions and hence had to change their lifestyle. This would include their religious beliefs but they kept some of the Vedic beliefs. For those in Iran most of the Vedic practices were lost and only few of them were left of which were in the Zoroastrian religion. Zoroastrianism was a monotheistic and messianic which most teachings revolved round prophet Zoroaster, this would lead to very few similarities between this religion and Hinduism. Vedic tradition which was a common factor was slowly eliminated in the Zoroastrian by use of the teachings and in the end severing any connections between the two. The differences between the Vedic and the Zoroastrian religion are more of a coincidence and less of an intent. The former Vedic religion that existed disappeared widely on the introduction ... Thus, global marketing does suggest that reaching global consumers is a strategically intended outcome of a hybrid strategic approach. In more details, four main factors included in the above mentioned approach are product, price, place, and promotion. In other words, when marketing their products, whether locally or globally, firms need to create a successful mix of: * the right product * sold at the right price * in the right place * using the most suitable promotion. 1. 1. Product decisions A product is defined as: Anything that is capable of satisfying customer needs . Then the product is the central point on which marketing energy must focus. Finding out how to make the product, setting up the production line, providing the finance and manufacturing the product are not the responsibility of the only marketing function. However, it is also concerned with what the product means to the customer. Marketing therefore plays a key role in determining such aspects as: * the appearance of the product in line with the requirements of the market * the function of the product products must address the needs of customers as identified through market research.

Pros And Cons Of Organ Donation Should Not Be Compulsory Organ donation is based on a simple concept of respect, if you want to donate you can, or if you are concerned about if you don t have to. It s a personal choice. Making organ donation compulsory isn t as easy as it is said. I believe that there will be a lot of problems if organ donation is made compulsory in Australia. Firstly, it would upset a lot of people who follow various religions. Secondly, a lot of money would be required to make this a reality. Lastly, people will be deprived of their freedom of choice. Therefore I believe that organdonation should not be made compulsory. Mandatory organ donation would affect numerous people that follow various religions. Every religion has its own beliefs about organ donation. For example in Hinduism they believe that the body should not be tampered before cremation or they will be dammed in their after life. Now knowing this, if the government make rules that force people to go beyond their consent and religion why do we call ourselves a democratic country? Now this may sound ridiculous from a science point of view, but those who believe in this it is a reality in the state of mind. Therefore I believe that forcefully legislating laws in favour of compulsory organ donation is unreasonable, unnecessary and unintelligent. Making organ donation compulsory comes with an astronomical cost. Executive Summary The dissertation project addresses the problem of trying to build a stock trading system based on prediction models obtained with daily stock quotes data. We will apply different models to predict the returns of IBM stocks at the New York Stock Exchange. These predictions will be used together with a trading rule that will generate buy and sell signals. This chapter addresses several new data mining issues: (1) how to use R to analyze data stored in a database; (2) how to handle prediction problems where there is a time ordering among training cases (usually known as a time series); (3) and the consequences of wanting to translate model predictions into actions. 3.1 Problem description and objectives Stock market trading is an application domain with a big potential for data mining. In effect, the existence of an enormous amount of historical data suggests that data mining can provide a competitive advantage over human inspection of this data. On the other hand there are authors claiming that the markets adapt so rapidly in terms of price adjustments that there is no space to obtain profits in a consistent way. This is usually known as the efficient markets hypothesis. This theory has been successively replaced by more relaxed versions that leave some space for trading opportunities. At the beginning of Harlem, the mood that accompanies a dream deferred is a questioning one that begins a search for definition. This mood, which will develop as each poem progresses, induces the reader to reflect upon the meaning of a dream deferred, preparing them for its development. The poem continues, listing the possible fates of a dream that never becomes reality. It suggests that maybe the dream will dry up / like a raisin in the sun, withering up and disappearing. Maybe it will stink like rotten meat, becoming a sickening reminder of what will never be. Perhaps the dream will crust and sugar over; Hughes seems to be saying here that the dream deferred might be covered up by society with a veil of normalcy. The most powerful line in Harlem, though, is the last line: Or does it explode? This line, in italics for emphasis, makes obvious the severity of a postponed dream, especially the dream of the blacks in Harlem. For a people who have been oppressed for centuries, the denial of yet another dream is not taken lightly. With the final line, Hughes seems to be hinting at a revolution, alluding to the idea that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Carlody Hobson Speech Analysis Imagine living in a world that is seemingly against all that you are and all that you want to be. Through modern stereotypes and accustomed oppression, the odds are working against minorities. As a society we have become familiarized with the comfort of color blindness, this is a term used for the ignorance that surrounds diversity issues today. Mellody Hobson, executive president of Ariel Investments, is an African American woman that has chosen to confront the lack of understandinginvolving diversity issues involving race, gender, sexuality, religion, socioeconomic status, and education and tagging it as ColorBravery. Throughout her discussion, Hobson engages and connects with her audiencethrough her personal stories, facial expressions, tone of voice, and passion about diversity. Hobson sees her audience as individuals who are struggling to understand the diversity issues that surround race, gender, and religion. She assumes that her audience has little awareness of the institutionalized injustices minorities face everyday. With that being said, she does not use her discussion to ridicule or judge them for not understanding the real problems involving diversity, instead she focuses on opening their eyes to begin to understand the obstacles our society needs to overcome in order to start celebrating diversity. Throughout her speech, Hobson infers that her audience needs a little help grasping the significance of her anecdotes. For example, she starts her discussion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Commercial Recuperation Essay Commercial Recuperation Essentially what Hebdige is saying with his statement is that eventually a subcultures generic trademarks will cross over into the mainstream. This will in tern render the original intentions of subversion diluted pastiches of there former representations. The validity of this statement is interesting in two ways. Firstly are subcultures subversive qualities diluted through popularisation? And secondly and perhaps more importantly in terms of more contemporary subcultural representations; how valid is the statement that what might be considered subcultures are actually subversive in terms of attempted displacement of a dominant ideology. It is these two areas with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But more than this was the relevant timing of the punk movement and subsequently, why it is so important as an example within this discussion. The high unemployment rates and the economic uncertainly present throughout Britain where largely to blame. As was the realisation that the promised age of prosperity and utopia promised by the passing generation was never going to come to the present one. As Polhemus puts it had Mclaren and Westwood not been around to toss a few sticks of dynamite in the right direction an eruption would have occurred anyway (1993:90). Punk saw itself as being in direct conflict with the established order it felt had betrayed a generation as John Fisk highlights the main function of conflict sub cultural groups in his article The Popular Economy The power domain in within which popular culture works is largely, but not exclusively, that of semiotic power. One major articulation of this power is the struggle between homogenisation and difference, or between consensus and conflict (Quoted in Storey, 1994:511) The movement was just that; a movement. I d love think that everyone shares my thoughts on this but others aren t so willing to accept this. The fact is that the majority of the population doesn t agree with my opinion that going organic leads to a healthier life style. As it is there is constant debate as to whether chemically processed foods are better than organically grown foods, mind you both sides have their pros and cons, but in the end organic is the obvious choice. Yet despite the apparent win that organic products have over its counterpart, people still don t fully understand what is wrong with the chemically processed. What is worse yet is that the public typically... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, methods such as crop rotation and hand weeding are used to create a more diverse ecological system to naturally grow pest s predators. Healthy seeds are selected and used in Organic farming, seeds that are genetically altered are not used. As far as livestock are concerned: they are given a proper diet, and adequate exposure to the outdoors. Good animal treatment standards or husbandry as they call it are maintained in organic farming. No antibiotics are used on animals, but homeopathic medicine is used, just in case an animal gets sick. If a farmer gives antibiotics to an animal, he loses his certificate for organic farming and he has to start all over and earn his certificate again. Growth hormones are also not used in organic animal husbandry. The concept of being organic is by no means a new thing. In fact if you go back you ll realize that organic farming was the way of things, not because people were more health conscience or anything, but simply because there wasn t any other way. There was no need for these chemicals. So where did our modern farming techniques come from? Easy; the 1930 s just wasn t a great time for the United States.
