Prions Essay
Prions
Prions have been a mistery for scientists from the day they where discovered. Prions act like
viruses but they are not. Their structure and chemistry are unknown. They are believed to be
proteins but that is yet to be completely proved.
Prion stands for proteinaceous infectious particles . Prions are known to cause many diseases
involved with nervous systems like the brain. They are the ones that cause the well known mad
cow disesase in Britain and scrapie for animals. For humans they are known to cause a rare disease
in Papua New
Guinea called Kuru ( or laughing death ) which striked only the cannibals in the Highlander tribes.
Investigation led to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This protein was found to be a glycoprotein (PrP): sugars are bounded to the amino acid, and it is
half the size of hemoglobin. PrP is the protein, but we can also find today PrPc (for cellular) and
PrPsc (for scrapie). Prp can be found in steak ( skeletal muscle) and also on the surface of
lymphocytes present in milk, but there is no evidence that the ingestion of this things can cause
disease in humans , but there is the still a risk.
Amyloid hypothesis.
Prions were found to form rods: long fibrils in brain tissues infected with scrapie and Creutzfeldt
Jacob disease. They believed that the fibrils can be distiguished from amyloid; that they represent a
filamentous animal virus causing scrapie and that they are elongated form of prion rods. The most
impotant aspect of these rods is the resemblance to amyloid. Amyloid plaques in the central
nervous system form considered accumulations of waste formed as some sort of a disease
process. This plaques are believed to be aggregations of prions in an almost crystalline state. The
production of antibodies to PrP allowed to demonstrate that amyloid plaques in the brain of scrapie
infected hamsters contain prion proteins. This amyloid plaques have been found on
Alzheimer s disease patients, which leads to the question if prions are related to that disease.
Although it has not been proven yet, the hypothesis is quite reliable. Can prions infectivity be
reduced or eliminated?

The Value Of A Life

The Value of a Life Countries less privileged than America face the reoccurring issue of being
taken advantage of. This occurs because these countries have high unemployment rates and are
in poverty so they are given jobs through American factories. This process, though, is not always
a fair one. Haiti and China are both countries with bad labor regulations, usually by American
influence, and this hurts the welfare of these countries as a whole, the individuals in these
countries, and the morality of America. Dupuy (2014) writes that Haiti s people, trapped
working in factories for cheap labor, are faced with a hard life and various brutalities. Both
adults and children must live these lives of horrible situations where they have no other choice
than to work at extremely low wages because of Haiti s poverty levels. Whether they are sent
away from their families to live in the city, in order to have a better life, or they re born poor and
go to the city to work everyday, these people do not live a good life. The children who work have
long hours, usually from early dawn until night, and go home, sometimes only to be abused.
(Dupuy, 2014). These conditions are put onto lonely, young, and exhausted children who are not
living with their families. But these conditions of long work hours in Haiti do not only apply to
children, but also young people and middle aged, too (Shah, 1998). The United States

The Stress Self Assessment Focused On My Stressors Essay
The Nature of Stress self assessment focused on my stressors. I learned that most of my stressors
were chronic; mainly dealing with school and socializing. The stressors were categorized as
mental and spiritual, although I did notice missing family and friends could fall under spiritual
and emotional. Another thing I learned was most of my stressors were caused from my move to
Bismarck. For example, living far from home, new job, and not having close friendships. This
form of assessment didn t work for me because I found I was focusing on the negative and felt
more stressed after seeing all my stressors in a list. The Signs of Stress assessment focused on
my personal symptoms of stress. I previously noticed these happened, but I never drew the
connection to stress. For example, I normally have very clear skin, but every once in awhile I ll
break out. The effects of stress are physiological. Now that I have a list of my signs of stress, I
am able to recognize when situations like break outs happen what is really going on. The
Personality Survey was to determine if I had a hardi personality. Before starting the assessment, I
predicted I would be classified with the hardi personality because I handle stress well. The
categories I scored highest on were I consider myself an optimist , I approach new situations with
the idea that I will learn something valuable , and I am strong willed . The one I resonate with
most is the one about new situations because I moved to

How Shakespeare Makes the Audience Aware of Cleopatra s...
How Shakespeare Makes the Audience Aware of Cleopatra s Infinite Variety in the Opening Act
Cleopatra was a talented mistress who used her feminine charm for personal gain. She was
seductive, lustful, flirtatious, and sarcastic, she had courage, and she was jealous, spiteful, very
violent and impatient. She was a woman of many contrasts, facets and changing moods.
Shakespeare shows these different aspects of her character in the first act then goes on to build on
them throughout the play.
In the opening scene straight away we enter into Philo and Demetrius friends of Antony

Antonyexplains to her that he doesn t care about Fuliva or Caesar but she still doesn t believe it
and shows scepticism by saying, . . . Why did he marry Fuliva and not love her? I ll seem the fool I
am not; Antonywill be himself.
In scene two Antonysays, . . . these strong Egyptian feathers I must break, or lose my self in
dotage. Here Antony is explaining that he needs to break the bond between him and Cleopatra
because he knows she will ruin him. Later in that scene he says, . . . I must from this enchanting
queen break off. . . which shows that he feels strongly about leaving Cleopatra but he is
determined to do it. Enobarbus has a strong and pleasant opinion of Cleopatra and shares it with
Antony, . . . her passions are made of nothing but the finest part of pure love. We cannot call her
winds and waters sighs and tears; they are greater storms and tempests than almanacs can report:
this cannot be cunning in her; if it be, she makes a shower of rain as well as Jove. Here
Enobarbus is saying that Cleopatra is very passionate about the way she feels, she moves from one
extreme to another but doesn t settle in between. He is saying that

Chapter 1 Study Guide
Chapter 1 1. The difference between opinion and facts is that an opinion can be used as a topic
of an essay. An opinion makes the essay more interesting for the reader. However, facts can not
be used as a topic since there will be no one to persuade, making the essay less interesting 2. Facts
may not be used as a topic for an essay, but facts do provided the support for an opinion. If an
essay does not obtain facts then it would all be base on unproven emotional feeling. Therefore,
facts are need because it makes the essay stronger and shows the reader the impartial aspect of the
topic sentence. 3. Not all opinion is good.Opinion may prove an author view point. It makes the

Then for the other set, the letter P, because that is a controversial. Others can argue that reading
standard. For the last set it would be Q, because this is the only one that is an opinion. 6. The
chief difference between a typical term paper and an essay is that most term papers just gives
facts, an essay is your opinion about your topic. 7. The weakness of Edison Invented the Electric
Light Bulb is that it is not an opinion, only fact. For B is a universally accepted fact. For C is
again a fact, for a better topic consists of a value judgment about this statement. For letter D is an
argument that would be too ridiculous to go against. For letter E, this paper would only give
information, no opinion at all is stated. Chapter 2 1. The difference between a thesis and an
opinion is that a thesis i your opinion boiled down to one arguable statement. Thesis is normally
in the front. 2. The five step for narrowing a general subject to a thesis are: 1. take inventory what
do you know 2. ask questions 3. Look for relationships 4. Ask the yes or no question 5. Quality
what degree (always, never, many, most) 3. The value of the of the yes or no question allow you
to decide if your position is defendable. It is also easier to make a thesis sentence, the question will
help develop a specific view point. The yes or no question will help

The Effects Of Facebook On Romantic Relationships
The Adverse Effects of Facebook on Romantic Relationships
Around the world people are updating their statuses on Facebook, double tapping pictures on
Instagram, tweeting, snapping, following, blogging, creeping, and commenting on posts. People
do these things so often that they have become second nature. More often than not, if you ask
any random person on the street if they have a form of social media they will say yes and will
have at least one type, if not more. As social media has grown, the habits that come with it have
been incorporated into many people s everyday lives . However, many people fail to think about
how the things they do everyday on their social media are affecting their relationship with their
romantic partner. According to one study done by Fox and Warber, Facebook could lead to
negative effects, such as drama and jealousy, on romantic relationships (Fox and Warber 5 6).
Another article by Seidman and Robertson supported this claim, agreeing that Facebook can lead to
conflict and confusion, jealousy and anxiety, less time spent with a partner, and deteriorating
relationships with others (Seidman and Robertson). This has been a controversial issue since the
dawn of social media; however, Facebook has definitely been seen to have negative effects on
relationships by giving people more access to monitor others, increasing jealousy and anxiety in
relationships, and by simply taking away time from a relationship. Since the beginning of mankind,
humans

Jazz Vs Cheerleading
Most jazz dancers and cheerleaders would agree that jazz dance is not cheerleading and that
cheerleading is not jazz. Although the general public might not see much contrast in this
performing art and sport, their athletes including my self seem to want to make clear their
differences. Jazz dancers could argue that cheerleadinginvolves high energy performances that
involve various types of stunts, tumbling passes, and some dancing, while cheerleaders might argue
that dancers perform pieces that give off different vibes and exhibit various types of character.
Although these statements are true, what most of these athletes don t see are their similarities and
how reinforcing each skill is one another. Jazz danceis a melting pot of different... Show more

Although it took nearly fifty years for cheerleading to follow in the footsteps of jazz dance,
competitive cheerleading is now a huge industry. Jamie Shultz published an article on Pennsylvania
State University s Communication website discussing the debate on whether or not cheerleading is
a sport. Ultimately, Shultz concludes that it depends on who you ask. She considers the industry as
a whole and states that the first high school cheerleading championship was held in 1983 by
Varsity cheerleading brands, which in turn cornered the cheerleading market. This live event
televised by ESPN sparked the competitive cheerleading world and initiated substantial
cheerleading innovations. The article, Leveling the dancing field, by Rachel Rizzuto in the
magazine Competitions: Winning Ways, discusses a Headliners Dance competition judge, Hassan
Sayyed s thoughts when judging a musical theatre number that included dancers of all ages,
abilities, and sizes . Rizzuto mentions that it is often easy to pick out a studio s top dancer with
the highest skill level, but it is absolutely necessary to utilize each dancer s skill level. In the
competition world, jazz dance choreographers and cheerleading choreographers will take the
athletes they have and choreograph routines to utilize every dancer or cheerleaders maximum skill
level in order to impress their audiences. The world

Similarities Between Jefferson And Amy Winehouse
What does Thomas Jefferson and Amy Winehouse in common? Obviously not the winged eyeliner,
nor the drug addiction tendencies, yet I argue some of their most well known and popular work are
almost parallel when taken out of contexts. Thomas Jefferson s Declaration of Independence, and
Amy Winehouse s, Tears Dry on Their Own, show direct correlations between taking a stand and
finding their independence, and being tired of shady men in their life playing games.
Obviously there s a huge difference between the old english style that the Declaration of
Independence was written in and Amy s suava jazzy tone, but both authors proclaim this sense of
self righteousness; therefore, they claim this independence from the man who did them wrong

Compare And Contrast Wuthering Heights And Frankenstein
1.Introduction
The following piece of writing will explore factors of a gothic novel. It will exclusively do so in
regards of the two novels Wuthering Heights and Frankenstein. These very famous novels will be
looked at in a very in depth piece of writing. Each novels main themes and their background will be
presented. The morality and the gothic novel with specific reference to Frankenstein and Wuthering
Heights will be assessed. The second aspect will be the social and cultural of the genre, the genre
being the gothic novel. Thirdly, the monster as punishment and the punishment of the monster in
both novels. The final aspect that will be analysed is the constructed nature of boundaries in both
texts.
2.The Novels

monster to be vicious was the fact that he was left alone and made to cope on his own because

angry and mean or he was created that way. The surrounding factors of the monsters surroundings
was believed to be the reason behind his anger and violence. This is evident in the novel where the
monster camps outside a house and learns how to interact with humans through watching how they

Employees must trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do, and enjoy the
people they work with (Wehner, 2015). This trust is established through management
creditability, employees feeling respected, and the extent that employee s expect to be treated
fairly. Additional criteria from the employee s perspective is the level of camaraderie employees
feel. From a manger s perspective a great place to work is one in which they achieve
organizational objectives by inspiring, speaking, and listening with employees who give their
personal best by thanking, developing, and caring and work together as a team/family by hiring,
celebrating, and sharing in an environment of trust (Wehner, 2015). This is the Great Place to
Work model. This model serves as a guide and these standards relate to HR practices and have
helped establish lessons learned for developing HR strategy and practices. Companies are finding
that in order to establish a great place to work you have to focus on culture because ultimately trust
breeds from the atmosphere and attitude established in your organization and strong culture is
formed when that atmosphere is one that values the people who perform the work. There are
certain areas where great workplaces stand out above the rest. The criteria from the Great Place to
Work Institute has brought focus on what successful companies do to manage their workforce and

Similarities Between The Birthmark And The Eye Of The...
The Birthmark and The Eye of the Beholder are both texts that deal with man s pursuit of
perfection, and how the conception of beauty is formed in society. However, these texts use very
different literary devices to make their points. While Hawthorne uses verisimilitude, paradox, and
the antithesis between Aylmer s view of the hand and everyone else s view to show that trying to
create beauty and perfection out of nature will only end in disaster in his book, Serling uses irony
to create the round character of Janet Tyler to show that beauty and perfection are relative, and how
you view yourself is more important than how society views you.

Janet almost succumbed to despair and tried to kill herself, but was able to go on because she
realized how she was more than just how some people saw her, she could be beautiful to herself.
This contrasts with The Birthmark, where Georgiana was completely flat. She was just a passive
acceptor of her fate from Aylmer. This passiveness contributed to the fact that beauty was her
defining characteristic to the other characters and Hawthorne. This contrast between the two
characters shows that how you view your own beauty ends up being much more important than how
others view you.
Serling s ending is a perfect usage of irony. We cannot see the faces of anybody until the end of
the episode, where we learn that the patient is beautiful by the standards of most people, whereas
the doctor and the nurses are all ugly pig looking humans. This sense of irony shows that people
all have different ideals of beauty, and you can destroy a treasure if you don t appreciate that
beauty. This is similar to the message of The Birthmark, because Aylmer just wanted to change
what he saw as ugly, but what everyone else saw as beautiful, truly proving that beauty is in the eye
of the beholder.

Noise Sensor Essay
Abstract In this Paper, issues related to noise sensor application of instrumentation amplifier
through substrate coupling in system on chip design are described and demonstrated including the
physical phenomenon responsible for its creation, coupling transmission mechanism and media,
parameter affecting coupling strengths and its impact on mixed signal integrated circuits. Basic
aim is to find out magnitude of interference happening when analog and digital circuit is placed
nearby on a common substrate. It has been design to have a broad bandwidth (1 KHz to 1MHz)
with very high CMRR to cancel out the unwanted noise at its both inputs and deliver single output.
MOSFET capacitors are used for the picking of substrate interference.
Key words CMOS, , noise sensor, Substrate Coupling, Guard Banding.

The Bar At The Folies Bergere
The Bar at the Folies Bergere shows a young lady who works at the Folies Bergere, a Paris cafe.
The lady is the sole focus of the work. Manet has depicted her in a manner that seems both
thoughtful and aloof. Her mind seems elsewhere while she is focused on serving drinks and
appetizers to the noisy crowd. The viewer s attention is focused on her locket pendant, which
makes us think of a situation and place far away from this, where she is someone s beloved, not
one of many servers in an overcrowded establishment. Manet shows us a very picture of
alienation: the woman is somehow held apart from the friends, lovers, and barflies that occupy
the rest of the room. We notice that, like a vampire, she alone is not reflected in the glass. Manet
reveals everyone else through the unusual perspective of a mirror that distorts and distances its
subjects. The customers faces and bodies seem surreally distorted. Only the workaday objects at the
young lady s disposal, such as bottles of liquor, a vase of flowers, and a bowl of fruit, seem real to
the subject. She is leaning solidly on the bar as if she feels a need to do so in order to secure her
place in the world, lest she float away. The young lady s dress seems to stress her alienation from
the scene. She is very formally clad in what appears to be a velvet jacket with various underlying
layers of clothing. We would consider this a very fancy, formal dress. We can see from the images

Factors For Consider When Pick An Employee Schedule Template
Title: Factors to Consider When Pick an Employee Schedule Template Description If you have
been given the responsibility of picking an Employee Schedule Template try considering certain
factors which are quite important. An Employee Schedule Template is considered one of the
greatest methods of starting on creating employee schedules in organizations possessing
employees above a certain staff strength or size. These templates match the staffing
requirements of an organization with job profiles and employee availability. They are also of
good use in allotting the number of work hours by making use of staff scheduling software.
They help in getting employee spreadsheets that can easily be reused as per requirements.
Therefore, they are of good help in saving effort and time. Templates in good design offer
flexibility allowing an individual to work in different timings and seasons. There are some
advantages that need to be considered when picking employee work schedule templates and they
are as follows: User Friendly The people who are into designing rosters and shifts are not experts.
They need to have a user friendly employee work schedule template that can be handles very
easily. This is because even a small mistake in this field might mean a huge loss. Therefore, it is
important to make the choice of a vendor offering elegant and simple solutions and the one which
has the willingness to spend some time in training the staff on using an employee work schedule
template.

In order to deliver a packet, a sender may have to wait for a certain period of time [4] until its
receiver becomes active. Sleep latency degrades the performance (e.g., delay and energy
consumption) of various kinds of data forwarding designs in low duty cycle networks. There are
two features that make flooding in low duty cycle networks challenging. First, a packet is
unlikely to be received by multiple nodes simultaneously as in always awake networks. To
broadcast a packet, a sender has to transmit the same packet multiple times if its receivers do not
wake up at the same time. Thus flooding in such networks is realized essentially by multiple
unicasts. Second, unlike wired networks, wireless communication is notoriously unreliable [4]. A
transmission is repeated if the previous transmissions are not successful due to wireless loss. The
combination of low duty cycle operation and unreliable links necessitates the design of a different
flooding mechanism than those found in wired networks and always awake wireless networks.
These combined have a knock on effects on reliability and cost [4]. One straightforward solution
could be building a routing tree for flooding. Yet this type of solutions have been shown [7] to be
fragile, because the failure of a parent node prevents

leading causes of cancer affecting women worldwide.1, 2 A very high burden of cervical cancer

lack of access to effective cervical cancerscreening programs in low resource settings, such as Sub

neoplasia (HGCIN) in HIV infected women as compared to HIV negative women.23 This could
be due to the inability of the immune system to clear HPV in advanced precancerous and
cancerous lesions.21, 24, 25 However, studies have found that the rates of invasive cervical cancer
(ICC) do not increase with decreasing CD4+ counts.26 Researchers attribute this finding to the
long latency period prior to the development of invasive cervical disease, during which, HIV
infected women end up dying of other complications of their HIV before ICC affects

Conor McKinley never felt torn between his Catholic faith and his sexual escapades. Hell, he hadn

Back at the defense table, after Min jun Kim and Conor played a peek a boo ritual unbeknownst to

Shit happens, thought Conor.
Nevertheless, as the murder trial progressed, Walter Rearin gave his opening Defense remarks in

Mr Rutherford, did you and your wife have a happy marriage?
Of course. Married for twenty one years.
Congratulations. Now, did you ever quarrel?
Hesitantly, Stuart answered, Honestly, I don t know any marriage that doesn t have some form of
disagreement. That s how it evolves.
True. Thanks for your candor, said the Prosecutor as he trekked back to his table with a smugness,
which made McKinley want to choke him right there.
Once, seated in his chair, the Prosecutor asked his last question, Did you murder your wife, Audrey?
The witness chair skidded backwards as Stuart Rutherford came to his feet shouting, Never. How
dare you? Aren t you supposed to be on my side?
Once again, Sandoval s gavel banged for silence as the Judge spoke, We ll recess for thirty minutes
as the Prosecution controls their witnesses.
As Bailiff Bob escorted Min jun back to his holding cell, McKinley observed Mr Rutherford and
Butler Oliver in an animated exchange in the backside of the gallery. Oliver Winston, the Butler,

Impact Of Biodiversity On The Extinction Of Plant And...
Review of Literature
Issue:
The rapid increase in the extinction rate of plant and animal species has proven to be a massive
issue regarding biodiversity loss.
Anil Markandya, from the Basque center for Climate Change and author of The Economic
Feedbacks of Loss of Biodiversity and Ecosystems Services says,
Globally, terrestrial biodiversity is projected to decrease by a further 10% by 2050. As with
biodiversity, the planet has also experienced major losses in the services derived from
ecosystems. During the last century, for example, the planet has lost 50% of its wetlands, 40% of
its forests and 35% of its mangroves. Around 60% of global ecosystem services have been
degraded in just 50 years.
This loss of Biodiversity is a phenomenon that has currently been under scrutiny. Markandya states
The topic of biodiversity loss has been the subject of a vast and growing scientific and economic
literature. Species are estimated to be going extinct at rates 100 to 1000 times faster than in
geological times. Malcolm McCallum, author of Vertebrate Biodiversity Losses Point to a Sixth
Mass Extinction brings the grim figures to light,
The human race faces many global to local challenges in the near future. Among these are
massive biodiversity losses. The 2012 IUCN/SSC Red List reported evaluations of ~56 % of all
vertebrates. This included 97 % of amphibians, mammals, birds, cartilaginous fishes, and hagfishes.
It also contained evaluations of ~50 % of lampreys, ~38 % of

Sierra Club Case Study
Being a part of an interest group is about being apart of something that is bigger than just one
person. It s advocating for change, for everyone. The Sierra Club is no different. This
environmental organization does more than just exist, it makes a difference.
The Sierra Club is a public interest organization that was founded on May 28, 1892 by the Scottish
American preservationist, naturalist, and philosopher John Muir. He was, not surprisingly, the
organization s first president. His work focused mostly on his excursions and observations in the
Sierra Nevada mountain range, hence the name. Prior to creating the Sierra Club in honor of the
Sierra mountain range, John Muir helped to successfully campaign for a bigger park for the

the club organizes over 20,000 local and international outdoor activities such as hiking or rock
climbing to experience what it s all about. The organization has also helped to create 431 different
parks and monuments and also advocated for and was successful in the protection of approximately
250 million acres of land.
The group attracts members from all over the world. Individuals who choose to be apart of the
Sierra Club are individuals who are environmentally conscious, and want to make a difference in the
environment. They are tree huggers, nature lovers, and environmentalists. Recently, the
organization has advocated to get rid of fossil fuels in favor of moving toward a clean energy
economy. Their progress on achieving this is demonstrated through statistics, the organization has
helped to retire approximately 200 coal plants. They are currently also addressing climate change,

Literature in the ESL Curriculum
The place of literature in education Why read literature? To many of us, such a question seems
as strange as asking why breathe? as literature has been part of our life, family, school, and
community for as long as we can remember. Of course, there are those who argue that what today
s students need is preparation for the real world, but in the push for practical preparedness we
sometimes overlook the importance of educating students imaginations. Literature offers windows
to worlds outside students experience as well as mirrors onto the world they already know.
Literature also prepares students for the personal challenges and moral dilemmas they are likely to
face. We interpret the world constantly in all our experiences every... Show more content on

What can easily be tested by questions with wrong and right answers is not, typically, what is of
most interest and value in the literary text. From 1939 to 1945, literature becomes a political
safeguard against indoctrination and propaganda and as a way to know what others were thinking.
Literature is increasingly seen from 1945 to 1957 as only appropriate to advanced level study, to
which the student gains access after having mastered the linguistic structures carefully graded
through audiolingual methods, a pleasurable reward for the successful, and an entertaining
supplement to audiolingual drills . In the next period, roughly 1957 to 1979, culture becomes a
more important area of study and literature is seen as reflecting a particular culture. From 1979
until the end of twentieth century literature comes to be valued in the context of the rise of
communicative language teaching, as authentic text . Now literature gives the opportunity for
vocabulary acquisition, the development of reading strategies, and the training of critical thinking.
The learner is the most important in the communicative paradigm, the author, his or her intentions
tend to be forgotten and the language of the text is more an inconvenient obstacle on the way to
examination of culture and society, rather than central to those notions, and of interest in itself. A
similar story emerges

Three Major Perspectives Of School Psychology
School psychologists are problem solvers who are responsible for collecting, analyzing, and
interpreting vast amounts of information and data for educational and psychological interventions.
Along with these responsibilities it is also of utmost important to be a well rounded school
psychologist in the area of theories and causes. An in depth understanding of theories can potential
be applied and considered within working with students that come from different environments.
Three major perspectives on abnormal child development were articulated within Chapter 2 titled

Psychological disorders in children and adults are considered to be the cause of brain and nervous
system functions described as the neurobiological perspective. One of the most interesting topics
discussed within the biological perspective is the process of neural plasticity. In the past there was a
misconception about children s brain development that was often connected to Freud s theory that
stated that the core personality of children formed at an early age. Due to extensive research this is
no longer the belief. Based on research brain functions continually change as they adapt to
environmental demands. Neural plasticity changes structure, function and organization of neurons
in response to new experiences. That being stated, the environment plays a critical role in a
developing brain. As a future school psychologist this information is critical when assessing,
supporting or observing students. Experiences will have an effect on the development or learning
of children resulting in normal or abnormal behavior. Children that are spoken to frequently during
an early age will often display good language skills and well organized brain structures. However,
children who are rarely spoken to may have stunted language development and immature language
brain systems. This information brings emphasis to the important of early interventions in a child s

The Origins Of The Origin Of Mathematics
The Origins of Mathematics
The Origins When and where is the origins of mathematics?
The origins of mathematics accompanied the evolution of social systems in many ways. The social
development of any society requires some sort of calculation and number system. In the same way,
the arithmetic operations are essential for the development and interaction between people. Words
that describe numbers and operations that enable calculations are the basis for survival. The need to
count how many animals where available for hunting, and the number of people that needed to be
feed are just examples of the needs faced by a pre historic man. All this require the need to
develop words, sounds, or gestures that could be used to describe the numbers of objects and
animals, also they had to develop a type of a counting system that could have allowed them to make
the most basic mathematical operations, for example equal sharing of food. That can explain why
the need of mathematics was so important just from the beginning of times, and how it has been the
binding element that kept the early humans together and help them to coexist and develop into
what we are today. Since the invention of a numbers and counting systems occurred when people
started to live together and formed the first human society, mathematical scenes was the link that
helped them to for societies and to develop a type of communication system and in a way help them
to establish the first trading system which in turn,

The Guatemalan civil war that emerged out of the political chaos created by the U.S. intervention
took upwards of 200,000 lives. It was during the civil war that we first saw such phenomena as
death squads and disappearances, which subsequently became standard operating procedure in
counterinsurgency wars throughout the hemisphere. U.S. military advisers were involved in the
formation of the death squads, and the head of the U.S. military mission publicly justified their

The phrase method of scholars is an alternative title for the scientific method, for it is the absolute
best set of methods in finding the truth, and of course the scholars would know. It has often been
said that the greatest discovery in science was the discovery of the scientific method of discovery :
(Feibleman, 1972). This method is an investigation in which a problem is initially identified. With
this, observations, experiments, and other relevant data (provided by research) are then used to
create or test hypotheses that lead to conclusions about the original problem. The steps involved in
this process include: 1) Forming a testable hypothesis. 2) Devising a research plan and method of
application. 3) Collecting data and researching. 4) Analyzing the data and reaching possible
conclusions about the study. 5) Report findings. This research can be characterized as an activity of
creative work that is carried out in a systematic way in an effort to increase knowledge and truth. In
the field of psychology, this refers to the knowledge of the human mind, human behavior, cultures,
and societies. In order to fully understand how researchers, scientists, psychologists, scholars, and
students alike reach such conclusions, one needs to recognize the importance of the research
process and measures that are applied when conducting the various types of psychological research.

The Biased Media Essay examples
In today s society television news is an entertainment medium which was intended to provide
information to the public on current issues, but that is not its prime function any more. It s also
meant to help viewers see issues from different perspectives. Being objective on a certain issue
cannot always exist so there is a biasof some sort in every news station. Each news station has a
specific point of view and they try to persuade the viewers to agree with them. To do this they use
specific evidence to support the idea, and specific language to help you to believe that idea.
The relationship between the media and politics has been going on for a long time. According to

We should have the ability to watch a news station and get details and be able to decide on a
situation on our own.
There are many arguments when it comes to this issue. Some people think that the media has a
liberal bias; some people think that there is a conservative view. The real issue is that there is a
bias opinion and this is changing the way that people perceive the media. According to Tyler Cohen
`Media Bias Is Not a Serious Problem it doesn t matter that the media has a biased opinion. He
states that people are aware that the media is bias and because of that they keep in mind when
watching. He also states that people want to watch stations that have the same opinion as them
(2005). Most people to watch specific news stations that do have the same belief as them, but we
should be able to watch whatever station we want and be able to get the same type of information.
The question of the media having a liberal bias definitely been around for some time now.
Because the media has received so many complaints about having this slanted view some think
that the media has changed. According to E.J. Dionne s article `Liberal Media Bias Is a Myth the
media has gotten better. He states that on social and cultural issues, the media was reporting more
objectively (2002). In his article he brings up the issue that now that the media is trying to not be
so liberal they are now going to have a new bias. It is a constant battle.

Side Effects Of Zoloft
Zoloft is an antidepressant used to treat depression. Depression is defined as a serious mood
disorder. Depression can affect how you feel and handle daily activities. Depression is diagnosed

Jefferson references the great architectural buildings of the past such as the pantheon to show his
connection to the great teachers of history. However, despite the similarities, Jefferson makes
some bold statements with what he does not include. His library is based on the pantheon, yet
does not reference religion. In fact, there is no place in his plan for the university that focused on
religion. This reflects Jefferson s mentality that learning should be a secular entity, and thus his
university has no religious affiliation, the first such public institution in the nation. Another
interesting idea is that of the integrated faculty housing. In this manner, by having faculty
housing, Jefferson showed how he viewed learning as a lifelong endeavor, that both faculty and
students were in pursuit of. Each of the pavilions was also based on a different classical roman
temple, to express the many varied disciplines taught at the university. The facades of each
pavilion were intended to serve as architectural models to expand learning. On a more concrete
level, the design of the university also reflects the social climate of the time, one which Jefferson
adhered to. The university was originally a males only institution, as can be seen by how the
dormitories are un segregated with bathrooms that allowed students to be seen in various stages of
undress. In a co ed university, this would not have been

Contrasts between Zeffirelli and Luhrmann s Romeo and Juliet There are many differences,
large and small, between Zeffirelli and Luhrmann s version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet.
After seeing the first scene of both of these films, some notable contrasts became clear. The
props used in both films differ greatly, in the 1967 version, very dated costumes were used, it
looked like the director wanted a medieval style to be shown in the film judging by the costumes
and props used. Real swords were drawn by the Capulet s and the Montague s as the play suggests
but the fighting seemed quite unbelievable to a modern day viewer as did some of the stalls used in

The scenery in each play also differs greatly; the 1967 version is set in a medieval village with
castles and a small market. Again its age shows as the buildings and backdrops look quite fake
against the modern scenery in the 1997 film. Good lighting is used in the older film but again
the newer one has realistic effects and buildings and overall has better quality scenery. In both
films, certain lines are missed out or changed slightly; I think the language used is basically the
same but in the market it was hard at times to hear what exactly was being said over all the noise
of the villagers. Although Luhrmann did a good job of bringing modern props into the film, the
language used in play sounded odd coming from modern people, dressed in modern clothes at a
petrol station. So I think the older film did a better job with the language despite the hearing
difficulty in some parts. The Acting quality was good in both films, but I found the style in the
early 1967 version was boring and the fight scenes were slightly unbelievable. The 1997 version
was more exciting and kept u interested but there wasn t really much between the two films in the
quality of acting. Finally I looked at the different camera techniques used, it was interesting to see
that both plays had shots of the legs or shoes of one of the families, Zeffirelli shot

side, where there aren t any hot shots, then what s a game about it? Nothing. No game (Salinger
8). Clearly, Holden identifies himself with the people on the other side. He shows that he is sort
of isolated from the rest of the world and created this cynical view of everyone and everything.
He shows that he has no hope in becoming on of the hot shots and already expresses that he is a
lost cause and does not know what to do with his life. It seems as though Holden s oversized
inferiority feelings are in contrast to his exВtremely high goals of superiority. Thus he is sure to
feel small and inferior

They are Environment Regulation, County Affairs and Education. As I already mentioned I will
give my best to keep the environmental fresh and healthy by make a policy which will very
effective and it would play an important role to regulate the environment. Because of the
construction, industry and business there are lots of impact in environment and polluted the
environment. So, by making certain laws I could be able to reduce the pollution. I like to mention
the function of those selected house committees which I already mention as my field of interest
where I wish to serve and represents people. Firstly, Environmental Regulation where it s been
currently represented by Pickett Joseph as a chairman and Thompson Ed as vice chairman along
with other 7 house members. 2 They mainly function on air, land and water pollution, the regulation
of waste disposal. They function on environment matter which is regulated by the state health

quantitative and qualitative research approach
The issue of quantitative and qualitative research approach has been discussed widely nowadays.
Some people believe quantitative research approach is trustworthy than qualitative research
approach. This essay will discuss the features of quantitative and qualitative research, and the reason
why people believe quantitative researchapproach is trustworthy than qualitative research approach.
Both quantitative and qualitative researches have been used as research approach recently. (What
is the purpose of this para??)(Combine with the first para?)
As Fred Kerlinger (1999) has mentioned about quantitative research, There s no such thing as
qualitative data. Everything is either 1 or 0 , quantitative research approach is an approach ... Show

Firstly, most of the researchers need to interact with people during collecting data. As researchers
use tools such as questionnaires and interviews to collect data, they must interact with interviewees
during the process. Although both of them ask questions in different ways, they are able to arrive at
the desired answer through interacting with people.
Besides, although qualitative research used verbal data to proceed their research mainly, sometimes
numerical data is used. For instance, to determine how individual feels, opinion data is commonly
used in the progress in qualitative research, using numbers one to five to find how individuals feel.
It is a kind of numerical data since it produce numerical outcome, which researchers use to
summarize the research. In addition, researchers need to use numerical data to support their
hypothesis before conducting their research. If their hypothesis has no data to support, the
credibility of it will be limited. Therefore, numerical data will be used in both of the research to
support their argument.
Moreover, researchers need to use their own data to develop their research and support their
hypothesis. Although second hand resources may helpful to their research, it may be outdated or
not appropriate to the research. Hence, primary data is important for

Colonize Mars
Scientists have been thinking about colonizing Mars and it is an great idea because they could
find the discoveries on Mars. Have you ever thought of going to Mars, it would be really
interesting to see all of Mars features. Astronauts should colonize Mars because we could
discover what is on Mars, they would have a lot of time to prepare and why do they even want to
go to mars?
NASA wants to go to mars because Mars is a great place for scientific descovorys. Mars has every
thing we need to live. If you went to mars there would only be a few things we need to live a space
suit, water, food, and clothes. Mars is also a great place to colonize because Mars has the biggest
volcanic mountain. Also if you would like to go to Mars you have to be 18 years or older.... Show

Mars is a really good place to colonize because it is really cold on Mars which, means that the
inside is frozen and if the colonizers can melt that they would have endless water. NASA is not
going to send colonizers every day. They have to send people at the right time because the sun is
blocking Mars and if they send them at the wrong time they will go right into the sun. Earth is a
overpopulated place so if we go to Mars and its fine to live there our earth would not be
overpopulated anymore. Also NASA is not going to force you to go to Mars you can go to Mars if

Book Report On Manga Fruit Basket
I cried halfway throughout the story, not knowing what to expect for an ending. This is how I felt
when reading the Manga Fruit Basket, a story about a young orphan girl who meets a family that
is cursed by the Chinese zodiac. Overall this was a good manga; however, it may different for
someone starting out to read Manga. There could have been some changes to create a better
atmosphere for the readers and the Manga itself. Some changes that could have been made in the
manga, are the type of drawing style they use, the way they finished it and the number of
simulations it has with the Anime
Manga s are Japanese comic books; however, the big difference between manga and comic books
is that comic books are colored while manga tends not to be. ... Show more content on

After reading other mangas, they may think back and agree the type of drawing can make a
difference. After reading Naruto, Black Butler, Detective Conan, and Skip Beat, these mangas
made me appreciated on the type of drawing Fruit Basket used. This is more of a
recommendation for readers, read other type of manga before reading Fruit Basket. The drawings
are nice enough for the manga; however, if you don t understand the reason throughout the
drawing, the plot may seem more confusing. Especially when some of the characters may look
way too similar to each other. In this manga, the first time I was getting confused on who was
who, especially when adding their zodiac character. After becoming accustomed to manga for 3
years, I was able to come back and reread the manga and have no confusion.
Tohru Honda is the young orphan girl who meets Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Sohma. This is where
all their lives change and Tohru finds about the curse of the Sohma turning into the zodiac animals
when weak or hugged by the opposite sex. The beginning is great, it caught my attention
throughout the whole story, however, as the last chapter was coming closer it felt as though the
story was finished in a hurry. My face was full of confusion and questions were rising when I
completed the manga. The story starts off with Tohru wanting to help the Sohma family to find a
way to break the curse, in the end, she succeeds. How? Is my question. they made it so

St Thomas Aquinas Research Paper
ST. Thomas Aquinas was a philosopher who was born in 1225 and has strongly influenced the
academic and theological fields since then. He studied under Alfred the Great when he joined the
Dominican order. After he graduated he went on to teach in Bologna, Paris, Rome, Cambridge,
and Cologne. Surprisingly he came up from a aristocratic family and was the son of a wealthy
banker, the story goes that he decided to join the Dominican order, so his family locked him away
for a year trying to persuade him from joining. Thomas Aquinass most famous work was the
Summa Theologica, it is a brief overview of all the questions and answers explained in the vast

For years Thomas Aquinas devoted all his time and energy to accomplish the Summa
Theologica, but unfortunately he never finished it. The story went that he had a vision while he
was sleeping and when he awoke he professed that all of his works were mere straw compare to
what he envisioned. One of his best know works is the potentiality and actuality theory,
potentiality is the concept that anything has the potential to be in a specific place or do a specific
action, but the actuality is the object being moved from its original state to its new state of being.
For example, if an spoon was sitting on a table, it has the potential to be moved to the counter, but
the actuality part would be me or someone moving that spoon on the counter. What a lot of people
don t understand is that he isn t making the argument that the universe had to have some form of
actuality to be created because if he did someone else could make the argument that God had to
have something actualize him in order to be in

The Reliability of Criminal Profiling Since the late 1800s, the reliability of criminal profiling has
been a very controversial topic in regards to whether it is is an art or a science. Many factors go
into play when it comes down to determining the correct perpetrator of a crime such as observation
and analysis of crime scenes, victims and most importantly looking into the criminal s mind.
Psychology plays a great part in the apprehension of criminals, profilers aim at predicting a suspect
s possible residence, family life and most importantly the characteristics of the person such as
height, weight and any other clues that would prove helpful. Despite few similarities, criminal ...

Historical Accuracy Of Henry Iv Plays By Shakespeare
Name Instructor Course Date Historical Accuracy in Henry IV Plays by Shakespeare Research
shows that Shakespeare s historical plays do not offer good sources for accurate rendering of
historical events. The details of place of issues such as place, time, and personality are all
subject to a great deal of artistic license just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the
past. However, to some extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his
famous works and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate
sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for Henry IV plays is
Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael Holinshed, the 1587 edition.
Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities and motivations of important historical
figures as well as much detail regarding Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source
used by Shakespeare in historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of
Lancaster and York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of
Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he had with
Hotspur. Shakespeare followed and used Daniel in portraying Hotspur as a much younger person
at the period of rebellion though history shows that he was older than King Henry IV was. Both
Daniel and Shakespeare use the battle of Shrewsbury as an occasion for the prince to prove his
valor as well martial

They are believed to be proteins but that is yet to be completely proved. Prion stands for proteinaceous infectious particles . Prions are known to cause many diseases involved with nervous systems like the brain. They are the ones that cause the well known mad cow disesase in Britain and scrapie for animals. For humans they are known to cause a rare disease in Papua New Guinea called Kuru ( or laughing death ) which striked only the cannibals in the Highlander tribes. Investigation led to the ... PrP is the protein, but we can also find today PrPc (for cellular) and PrPsc (for scrapie). Prp can be found in steak ( skeletal muscle) and also on the surface of lymphocytes present in milk, but there is no evidence that the ingestion of this things can cause disease in humans , but there is the still a risk. Amyloid hypothesis. Prions were found to form rods: long fibrils in brain tissues infected with scrapie and Creutzfeldt Jacob disease. They believed that the fibrils can be distiguished from amyloid; that they represent a filamentous animal virus causing scrapie and that they are elongated form of prion rods. The most impotant aspect of these rods is the resemblance to amyloid. Amyloid plaques in the central nervous system form considered accumulations of waste formed as some sort of a disease process. This plaques are believed to be aggregations of prions in an almost crystalline state. The production of antibodies to PrP allowed to demonstrate that amyloid plaques in the brain of scrapie infected hamsters contain prion proteins. This amyloid plaques have been found on Alzheimer s disease patients, which leads to the question if prions are related to that disease. Although it has not been proven yet, the hypothesis is quite reliable. Can prions infectivity be reduced or eliminated? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Value Of A Life Kathleen Sullivan Professor Janice Shiu GOVT 35 23 September 2014 The Value of a Life Countries less privileged than America face the reoccurring issue of being taken advantage of. This occurs because these countries have high unemployment rates and are in poverty so they are given jobs through American factories. This process, though, is not always a fair one. Haiti and China are both countries with bad labor regulations, usually by American influence, and this hurts the welfare of these countries as a whole, the individuals in these countries, and the morality of America. Dupuy (2014) writes that Haiti s people, trapped working in factories for cheap labor, are faced with a hard life and various brutalities. Both adults and children must live these lives of horrible situations where they have no other choice than to work at extremely low wages because of Haiti s poverty levels. Whether they are sent away from their families to live in the city, in order to have a better life, or they re born poor and go to the city to work everyday, these people do not live a good life. The children who work have long hours, usually from early dawn until night, and go home, sometimes only to be abused. (Dupuy, 2014). These conditions are put onto lonely, young, and exhausted children who are not living with their families. But these conditions of long work hours in Haiti do not only apply to children, but also young people and middle aged, too (Shah, 1998). The United States ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I learned that most of my stressors were chronic; mainly dealing with school and socializing. The stressors were categorized as mental and spiritual, although I did notice missing family and friends could fall under spiritual and emotional. Another thing I learned was most of my stressors were caused from my move to Bismarck. For example, living far from home, new job, and not having close friendships. This form of assessment didn t work for me because I found I was focusing on the negative and felt more stressed after seeing all my stressors in a list. The Signs of Stress assessment focused on my personal symptoms of stress. I previously noticed these happened, but I never drew the connection to stress. For example, I normally have very clear skin, but every once in awhile I ll break out. The effects of stress are physiological. Now that I have a list of my signs of stress, I am able to recognize when situations like break outs happen what is really going on. The Personality Survey was to determine if I had a hardi personality. Before starting the assessment, I predicted I would be classified with the hardi personality because I handle stress well. The categories I scored highest on were I consider myself an optimist , I approach new situations with the idea that I will learn something valuable , and I am strong willed . The Effects Of Facebook On Romantic Relationships The Adverse Effects of Facebook on Romantic Relationships Around the world people are updating their statuses on Facebook, double tapping pictures on Instagram, tweeting, snapping, following, blogging, creeping, and commenting on posts. People do these things so often that they have become second nature. More often than not, if you ask any random person on the street if they have a form of social media they will say yes and will have at least one type, if not more. As social media has grown, the habits that come with it have been incorporated into many people s everyday lives . However, many people fail to think about how the things they do everyday on their social media are affecting their relationship with their romantic partner. According to one study done by Fox and Warber, Facebook could lead to negative effects, such as drama and jealousy, on romantic relationships (Fox and Warber 5 6). Another article by Seidman and Robertson supported this claim, agreeing that Facebook can lead to conflict and confusion, jealousy and anxiety, less time spent with a partner, and deteriorating relationships with others (Seidman and Robertson). This has been a controversial issue since the dawn of social media; however, Facebook has definitely been seen to have negative effects on relationships by giving people more access to monitor others, increasing jealousy and anxiety in relationships, and by simply taking away time from a relationship. Additional criteria from the employee s perspective is the level of camaraderie employees feel. From a manger s perspective a great place to work is one in which they achieve organizational objectives by inspiring, speaking, and listening with employees who give their personal best by thanking, developing, and caring and work together as a team/family by hiring, celebrating, and sharing in an environment of trust (Wehner, 2015). The Birthmark and The Eye of the Beholder are both texts that deal with man s pursuit of perfection, and how the conception of beauty is formed in society. However, these texts use very different literary devices to make their points. While Hawthorne uses verisimilitude, paradox, and the antithesis between Aylmer s view of the hand and everyone else s view to show that trying to create beauty and perfection out of nature will only end in disaster in his book, Serling uses irony to create the round character of Janet Tyler to show that beauty and perfection are relative, and how you view yourself is more important than how society views you. Janet almost succumbed to despair and tried to kill herself, but was able to go on because she realized how she was more than just how some people saw her, she could be beautiful to herself. This contrasts with The Birthmark, where Georgiana was completely flat. She was just a passive acceptor of her fate from Aylmer. This passiveness contributed to the fact that beauty was her defining characteristic to the other characters and Hawthorne. This contrast between the two characters shows that how you view your own beauty ends up being much more important than how others view you. Serling s ending is a perfect usage of irony. We cannot see the faces of anybody until the end of the episode, where we learn that the patient is beautiful by the standards of most people, whereas the doctor and the nurses are all ugly pig looking humans. This sense of irony shows that people all have different ideals of beauty, and you can destroy a treasure if you don t appreciate that beauty. Noise Sensor Essay Abstract In this Paper, issues related to noise sensor application of instrumentation amplifier through substrate coupling in system on chip design are described and demonstrated including the physical phenomenon responsible for its creation, coupling transmission mechanism and media, parameter affecting coupling strengths and its impact on mixed signal integrated circuits. Basic aim is to find out magnitude of interference happening when analog and digital circuit is placed nearby on a common substrate. It has been design to have a broad bandwidth (1 KHz to 1MHz) with very high CMRR to cancel out the unwanted noise at its both inputs and deliver single output. MOSFET capacitors are used for the picking of substrate interference. Key words CMOS, , noise sensor, Substrate Coupling, Guard Banding. Introduction The wireless sensor network is applicable in numerous life saving critical field because of low cost long battery life sensors. A sensor network comprises of sensors and routers to choose the administrator host that is called the coordinator [2]. A wireless sensor network is easy to use in the desired environment [6], and the information can be collected then processed and sent to a desired location. Manet has depicted her in a manner that seems both thoughtful and aloof. Her mind seems elsewhere while she is focused on serving drinks and appetizers to the noisy crowd. The viewer s attention is focused on her locket pendant, which makes us think of a situation and place far away from this, where she is someone s beloved, not one of many servers in an overcrowded establishment. Manet shows us a very picture of alienation: the woman is somehow held apart from the friends, lovers, and barflies that occupy the rest of the room. We notice that, like a vampire, she alone is not reflected in the glass. Manet reveals everyone else through the unusual perspective of a mirror that distorts and distances its subjects. The customers faces and bodies seem surreally distorted. Only the workaday objects at the young lady s disposal, such as bottles of liquor, a vase of flowers, and a bowl of fruit, seem real to the subject. She is leaning solidly on the bar as if she feels a need to do so in order to secure her place in the world, lest she float away. The young lady s dress seems to stress her alienation from the scene. She is very formally clad in what appears to be a velvet jacket with various underlying layers of clothing. We would consider this a very fancy, formal dress. Firstly it will discuss about network effects on physical organization and then about virtual organization. Network effects or function of network size and network strength [1]. The theory related to network effects on organization can be categorized into three parts [1]: i. depends on technology adopted i.e., what factors would contribute if new technology is adopted ii. Technology compatibility decision i.e., what factors involve in organization for seeking compatibility iii. Decision among competing incompatible technologies i.e., what factors involve in consumer choice... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to deliver a packet, a sender may have to wait for a certain period of time [4] until its receiver becomes active. Sleep latency degrades the performance (e.g., delay and energy consumption) of various kinds of data forwarding designs in low duty cycle networks. There are two features that make flooding in low duty cycle networks challenging. First, a packet is unlikely to be received by multiple nodes simultaneously as in always awake networks. To broadcast a packet, a sender has to transmit the same packet multiple times if its receivers do not wake up at the same time. Thus flooding in such networks is realized essentially by multiple unicasts. Second, unlike wired networks, wireless communication is notoriously unreliable [4]. A transmission is repeated if the previous transmissions are not successful due to wireless loss. The combination of low duty cycle operation and unreliable links necessitates the design of a different flooding mechanism than those found in wired networks and always awake wireless networks. These combined have a knock on effects on reliability and cost [4]. One straightforward solution could be building a routing tree for flooding. Yet this type of solutions have been shown [7] to be fragile, because the failure of a parent node prevents ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This maybe due to immune suppression seen with HIV.22 Moreover, cervical lesions are twice as likely to progress to high grade cervical intra epithelial neoplasia (HGCIN) in HIV infected women as compared to HIV negative women.23 This could be due to the inability of the immune system to clear HPV in advanced precancerous and cancerous lesions.21, 24, 25 However, studies have found that the rates of invasive cervical cancer (ICC) do not increase with decreasing CD4+ counts.26 Researchers attribute this finding to the long latency period prior to the development of invasive cervical disease, during which, HIV infected women end up dying of other complications of their HIV before ICC affects ... Review of Literature Issue: The rapid increase in the extinction rate of plant and animal species has proven to be a massive issue regarding biodiversity loss. Anil Markandya, from the Basque center for Climate Change and author of The Economic Feedbacks of Loss of Biodiversity and Ecosystems Services says, Globally, terrestrial biodiversity is projected to decrease by a further 10% by 2050. As with biodiversity, the planet has also experienced major losses in the services derived from ecosystems. During the last century, for example, the planet has lost 50% of its wetlands, 40% of its forests and 35% of its mangroves. Around 60% of global ecosystem services have been degraded in just 50 years. This loss of Biodiversity is a phenomenon that has currently been under scrutiny. Markandya states The topic of biodiversity loss has been the subject of a vast and growing scientific and economic literature. Species are estimated to be going extinct at rates 100 to 1000 times faster than in geological times. Malcolm McCallum, author of Vertebrate Biodiversity Losses Point to a Sixth Mass Extinction brings the grim figures to light, The human race faces many global to local challenges in the near future. Among these are massive biodiversity losses. The 2012 IUCN/SSC Red List reported evaluations of ~56 % of all vertebrates. Literature is increasingly seen from 1945 to 1957 as only appropriate to advanced level study, to which the student gains access after having mastered the linguistic structures carefully graded through audiolingual methods, a pleasurable reward for the successful, and an entertaining supplement to audiolingual drills . In the next period, roughly 1957 to 1979, culture becomes a more important area of study and literature is seen as reflecting a particular culture. From 1979 until the end of twentieth century literature comes to be valued in the context of the rise of communicative language teaching, as authentic text . Psychological disorders in children and adults are considered to be the cause of brain and nervous system functions described as the neurobiological perspective. One of the most interesting topics discussed within the biological perspective is the process of neural plasticity. In the past there was a misconception about children s brain development that was often connected to Freud s theory that stated that the core personality of children formed at an early age. Due to extensive research this is no longer the belief. Based on research brain functions continually change as they adapt to environmental demands. Neural plasticity changes structure, function and organization of neurons in response to new experiences. That being stated, the environment plays a critical role in a developing brain. As a future school psychologist this information is critical when assessing, supporting or observing students. Experiences will have an effect on the development or learning of children resulting in normal or abnormal behavior. The origins of mathematics accompanied the evolution of social systems in many ways. The social development of any society requires some sort of calculation and number system. In the same way, the arithmetic operations are essential for the development and interaction between people. Words that describe numbers and operations that enable calculations are the basis for survival. The need to count how many animals where available for hunting, and the number of people that needed to be feed are just examples of the needs faced by a pre historic man. All this require the need to develop words, sounds, or gestures that could be used to describe the numbers of objects and animals, also they had to develop a type of a counting system that could have allowed them to make the most basic mathematical operations, for example equal sharing of food. That can explain why the need of mathematics was so important just from the beginning of times, and how it has been the binding element that kept the early humans together and help them to coexist and develop into what we are today. Since the invention of a numbers and counting systems occurred when people started to live together and formed the first human society, mathematical scenes was the link that helped them to for societies and to develop a type of communication system and in a way help them to establish the first trading system which in turn, ... This method is an investigation in which a problem is initially identified. Jefferson references the great architectural buildings of the past such as the pantheon to show his connection to the great teachers of history. However, despite the similarities, Jefferson makes some bold statements with what he does not include. His library is based on the pantheon, yet does not reference religion. In fact, there is no place in his plan for the university that focused on religion. This reflects Jefferson s mentality that learning should be a secular entity, and thus his university has no religious affiliation, the first such public institution in the nation. Another interesting idea is that of the integrated faculty housing. In this manner, by having faculty housing, Jefferson showed how he viewed learning as a lifelong endeavor, that both faculty and students were in pursuit of. Each of the pavilions was also based on a different classical roman temple, to express the many varied disciplines taught at the university. After seeing the first scene of both of these films, some notable contrasts became clear. The props used in both films differ greatly, in the 1967 version, very dated costumes were used, it looked like the director wanted a medieval style to be shown in the film judging by the costumes and props used. In both films, certain lines are missed out or changed slightly; I think the language used is basically the same but in the market it was hard at times to hear what exactly was being said over all the noise of the villagers. Although Luhrmann did a good job of bringing modern props into the film, the language used in play sounded odd coming from modern people, dressed in modern clothes at a petrol station. Some people you shouldn t kid, even if they deserve it (Salinger 78). Holden is well aware that he has hurt her. He also not admittingly makes a mental not that you cannot do as you please in this world. In a conversation between Holden and Spencer, Holden is lectured about the importance of playing by the rules. Spencer, his former history teacher at Pencey, explains that life should be played by the rules. and calls life a game. To himself, Holden goes on to say, Game, my ass. Some game. If you get on the side where all the hot shots are, then it s a game, all right I ll admit that. But if you get on the other side, where there aren t any hot shots, then what s a game about it? Nothing. No game (Salinger 8). Clearly, Holden identifies himself with the people on the other side. He shows that he is sort of isolated from the rest of the world and created this cynical view of everyone and everything. He shows that he has no hope in becoming on of the hot shots and already expresses that he is a lost cause and does not know what to do with his life. Besides, although qualitative research used verbal data to proceed their research mainly, sometimes numerical data is used. For instance, to determine how individual feels, opinion data is commonly used in the progress in qualitative research, using numbers one to five to find how individuals feel. • 42. Book Report On Manga Fruit Basket I cried halfway throughout the story, not knowing what to expect for an ending. This is how I felt when reading the Manga Fruit Basket, a story about a young orphan girl who meets a family that is cursed by the Chinese zodiac. Overall this was a good manga; however, it may different for someone starting out to read Manga. There could have been some changes to create a better atmosphere for the readers and the Manga itself. Some changes that could have been made in the manga, are the type of drawing style they use, the way they finished it and the number of simulations it has with the Anime Manga s are Japanese comic books; however, the big difference between manga and comic books is that comic books are colored while manga tends not to be. ... After reading Naruto, Black Butler, Detective Conan, and Skip Beat, these mangas made me appreciated on the type of drawing Fruit Basket used. This is more of a recommendation for readers, read other type of manga before reading Fruit Basket. The drawings are nice enough for the manga; however, if you don t understand the reason throughout the drawing, the plot may seem more confusing. Especially when some of the characters may look way too similar to each other. In this manga, the first time I was getting confused on who was who, especially when adding their zodiac character. After becoming accustomed to manga for 3 years, I was able to come back and reread the manga and have no confusion. Tohru Honda is the young orphan girl who meets Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Sohma. This is where all their lives change and Tohru finds about the curse of the Sohma turning into the zodiac animals when weak or hugged by the opposite sex. The beginning is great, it caught my attention throughout the whole story, however, as the last chapter was coming closer it felt as though the story was finished in a hurry. My face was full of confusion and questions were rising when I completed the manga. The story starts off with Tohru wanting to help the Sohma family to find a way to break the curse, in the end, she succeeds. How? Is my question. they made it so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. Historical Accuracy Of Henry Iv Plays By Shakespeare Name Instructor Course Date Historical Accuracy in Henry IV Plays by Shakespeare Research shows that Shakespeare s historical plays do not offer good sources for accurate rendering of historical events. The details of place of issues such as place, time, and personality are all subject to a great deal of artistic license just as most of modern Hollywood movies about the past. However, to some extent, Shakespeare did research his materials. Close analysis of his famous works and plays indicate that Henry IV draws upon a surprising range of disparate sources[CITATION Jam991 p 4 l 1033 ]. One of the most obvious sources for Henry IV plays is Chronicles of England, Scotland, and Ireland by Raphael Holinshed, the 1587 edition. Holinshed style of history focuses on personalities and motivations of important historical figures as well as much detail regarding Henry s IV tussle with Percy. Another important source used by Shakespeare in historical plays was The Civil Wars between the Two Houses of Lancaster and York by Samuel Daniel. The poems written by Daniel differ greatly from that of Holinshed particularly on the emphasis on the Princes of Wales and the rivalry he had with Hotspur. Shakespeare followed and used Daniel in portraying Hotspur as a much younger person at the period of rebellion though history shows that he was older than King Henry IV was. Both Daniel and Shakespeare use the battle of Shrewsbury as an occasion for the prince to prove his valor as well martial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
