The Ozone Depletion
The earth atmosphere has many layers; the first two layers are the troposphere, the stratosphere,
and the ozone layer which sits in the lower area of the stratosphere. The troposphere layer is
where a lot of human activity occurs, such as planes and mountain climbing. The next layer is
the stratosphere and this is where the ozone layer is located as well. The ozone layer helps
protect people from ultraviolet radiation that mainly come from the sun. The ozone layer can be
different depending on the season and the location. Over the past few years, the ozone layer has
been depleting because of human activity. The main issue of the depletion of the ozone layer is
the man made products that have been created and has cause bad effect on the ozone layer itself.
The ozone is a gas in the atmosphere that protects all living things on Earth from damaging
ultraviolet rays that come from the sun. With the ozone layer depleting, it would be difficult for
anything to survive much longer or not at all. The ozone acts as a shield to protect living things
from absorbing the ultraviolet ray and keeps them from being damaged. Many man made materials
are causing the ozone layer to deplete at a faster rate. The author states, Emissions of chlorine and
bromine from CFCs and halons are to blame for excessive stratospheric ozone depletion(Ivanovich
and Calm). This type of emission is going into the atmosphere and is breaking down the ozone
layer. Consequently, this is resulting in the

What is the purpose of the dividends received deduction? What corporations are entitled to claim
this deduction? What dividends qualify for this deduction?
The purpose of dividends received deduction is to prevent triple taxation of earnings. The Dividend
Received Reduction (DRD) is the concept where a corporation receiving a dividend from another
corporation does not have to pay taxes on that dividend they received.
Code Sec243 of the IRS provide relief to domestic corporations, when paying dividends to its
shareholders, which is subject to tax. In another words, the relief is the paid dividend to others
corporations, in which the income would be tax a third time after the recipient corporation pays

Type G: Transfer
Type G reorganizations involve bankruptcy by permitting the transfer of all or some of a failing
company s assets to a new corporation.
17 24.
Define and differentiate a spin off, split off, and split up.
Split up: An arrangement whereby a parent corporation transfers all of its assets to two or more
corporations and then winds up its affairs. When a split up occurs, the shareholders of the parent
corporation surrender the total amount of their stock in exchange for stock in the transferee
corporation.
Split Off: The process whereby a parent corporation organizes a subsidiary corporation to which it
transfers part of its assets in exchange for all of the subsidiary s capital stock, which is
subsequently transferred to the shareholders of the parent corporation in exchange for a portion
of their parent stock. A split off differs from a spin off in that the shareholders in a split off must
relinquish their shares of stock in the parent corporation in order to receive shares of the subsidiary
corporation whereas the shareholders in a spin off need not do so.
Spin Off: The situation that arises when a parent corporation

March Of Penguins
In March of the Penguins, the author explains in a subjective point of view that it s not the fault of
another animal for needing to feed by eating the penguins. For the Penguins, they survive many
harsh winters and attacks from animals such as the Sea Lion, because of this show of strength in
one of the world s harshest of environments, the Author admires these Penguins and how they live.
Ways they show their loyalty to their home and ways they survive this hellish place are simple, yet
extremely hazardous tasks. To get back to their mating area, the first group of penguins, the males,
must travel an extremely long distance to make it back to their home and meet up with the female
penguins that have been waiting for a very long time. Though the females are starving, they

During the nighttime storms, they huddle closely together to keep warm and switch from inside to
outside so each penguin gets to feel warmth that is at the center. After all of these storms, the
females are on the return from the water. Some eggs may have been lost in the storm so the
mothers of those chicks will not have a child to feed. For those who have survived, their child is
awaiting food from the mother. After feeding the child, they pass it back to the mother as the
father is in need of food. Before departing, the Father and Child sing to each other to remember
who is who after the father returns from feeding. As time passes, these chicks slowly grow older
and get much larger, eventually losing their baby feathers. During most of their growing up stage,
they are left alone as they are old enough to look out for themselves and that of their fellow
penguins. After they are old enough, they walk out to the waters edge that is now much closer as it
is now summer time again. They jump in and resume the process that has been repeated throughout
the generations and will soon make the march

Guernica is an artwork created by a Spanish artist Pablo Picasso is known to the one of the most
significant and powerful anti war paintings in history. This is based on is home country Spain
which affected the Spaniards. During the catastrophe, a civil war was also taken place against its
own country in 1937. Since he released that incident was happening it influenced Picasso to Paint
Guernica.
Cubist Spanish Artist Pablo Picasso, illustrated the artwork Guernica in 1937 while the time he
was in Paris. It is an oil painting on canvas which main utilising the palates grey, black and white. It

background of the painting reveals how he found out about the bombing. The light bulb at the very

If any unauthorized transactions took place, the evidence is gone when the account is deleted.
Errors in segregation of duties are prevalent as well. The current tasks for the Finance Coordinator
position leave Dentistar open to internal control nightmares. This position is given responsibility to
consolidate information and calculate amounts for manual disbursements, prepare checks, maintain
regional accounting files, collect past due accounts receivable, organize financial data for audit,
and assist with human resources. Beyond that he is indirectly, through severe weaknesses in
internal control, given the ability to authorize refunds, issue payments for operating expenditures
and affect the general ledger. These duties and implied responsibilities effectively give him
custody, authority, recording, and review powers, which is a gross disregard for internal control.
Moreover, all personnel can create operating expenditures instead of one or a small number of
people, so auditors aren t able to trace expenses to individuals. Adequate speed of updating
information and open lines of communication are important for all companies. However, slow
reactions are causing control deficiencies. Regional employees are allowed to issue disbursements
that would take too long for the home office to make, but these transactions draw from accounts

The Primacy Of Salomon V Salomon s The Corporate Veil
In this light the Supreme Court, in order to arrive at a fair outcome for the wife, managed to set
aside the companies separate legal personality without actually lifting the corporate veil. As a
result of this ruling, it is lucid that the primacy of Salomon v Salomon has been affirmed.
Nonetheless, the case itself is significant as it also recognized for the first time that piercing the
corporate veil is possible; albeit in limited circumstances. As such, rather then being referred to
as an archetype of the courts reluctance towards corporate disregard, the case suggests the
antitheses. Evidence of this can be found in Lord Sumption s declaration that a recognition of a
limited power to pierce the corporate veil, in carefully defined circumstances, is necessary if the
law is not to be disarmed in the face of abuse . In addition, Lord Sumption s attempt in Prest to
formulate a principled method to veil piercing, which in itself will be discussed in greater detail
later in this essay, has provided a renewed beginning to an already complex area of company law
(tan chang article). In essence, while it is true that the threshold in which the corporate veil may
be pierced has been raised, a detailed analysis of the case illustrates that the abuse of corporate
personality will not go unpunished (tera firm/mcardle). Having considered the ratio of Prest, when
assessing the law in relation to corporate disregard as a whole it becomes evident that corporate
personality has

Mike, I need you to come to my house, something happen to Jessica. Fastly I snatched my things

As I arrived to the hospital my mind was spinning. The lady at the front desk walked us to Jessica s

Adler s Ethos In How To Mark A Book
When I read a book or a paper, I read it and sometimes make a few mental notes. What do you do?
Do you mark and write things down? In Mortimer J. Adler s paper, How to Mark a Book, he
argues the best way to get the most out of reading is to mark the book or paper, leaving ones
thoughts on the pages. Some say this slows them down, or leaves behind a messy, ruined book, but
Adler claims reading slower and writing thoughts down allows the reader and author to have a
conversation that will enhance the readers understanding of the text. Through his paper, Adler
attempts to use the rhetorical triangle of ethos, pathos, and logos to connect the audience to his
paper and to convince them the best way to understand a text is through marking it.... Show more

Ethos Out of the three, ethos, pathos, and logos, Mortimer J. Adler uses ethos, or the ethical
character and credibility of the speaker, most effectively, in order to convince his audience that he
has a right to be explaining the usefulness of marking a book while reading it. In the very
beginning, there is an introduction about Adler which states things such as, He founded and
fathered the Great Books Program, edited the Encyclopedia Britannica, and wrote dozens of
books on educational, intellectual, and philosophical topics (Adler, n.d./2012, p.1). He also
earned his PhD from Columbia University after dropping out of high school, demonstrating his
dedication to learning. This sets the stage for the reader to feel that the author is a credible
source for writing on this subject. As the article continues, Adler retains his credibility by
mentioning other point of views. He says, You may say that this business of marking books is
going to slow up your reading (Adler, n.d./2012, p.4). Although he does mention these other
points of view, he refutes them quickly. For example, the next two sentences say, It probably
will. That s one of the reasons for doing it (Adler, n.d./2012, p.4). He refutes the other viewpoints
in order to help the reader feel more confident that his way is the best way. He does so in a way

Taking a Look at Mental Illnesses
Mental illnesses are a serious matter that affect a person as much as someone with a physical
illness. Mental illnesses are medical conditions that affect a person s mental health. They are as
serious as other disorders such as diabetes and should be treated as so. The amount of talk by
those who aren t well informed and often assume has created many misconceptions about mental
illnesses. In order to successfully make those around people with mental illnesses to be aware of
the harm these disorders cause a person these misconceptions need to be cleared. Mental illnesses
need to be treated like the threat they indeed are like real illnesses.
Mental illnesses are conditions in which a person s mental health is affected to a point that they
aren t able to cope with life s expectations. An example is a common known disorder known as
depression, when someone experiences depression they may feel like they no longer want to thrive
and be happy in their life. This happens due to the amount of brain activity the disorder causes to
diminish. According to www.nimh.nih.gov when a person has depression he or she may expirience

Chicago Symphony Orchestra Description Essay
Entering the Chicago Symphony Center my face must have looked completely memorized as I

that was on the ceilings and trim work must have taken months to complete with a construction

It was in one of the full moon night did the experiment take place. Not only do the soft light coming

expressions, they also create a great contrasting with the shadow. Joseph Wright was a well known
artist with his proficiency in painting with high contrast between the lightand the dark. Wright had
a lot of paintings related to scientific experiments within the 18th century, and An Experiment on a
Bird in the Air Pump, which was done in 1768, is definitely one of them. At the first glance, it can

This great painting seems to be alive with the tensions and the excitements of its historical
moment (Glover). The painting successfully describes the differences between the facial
expressions of the youngest and the eldest appearing in the painting. The cockatoo is said to be

refuse to look at it while the young girl s expression tends to be upset, however, she is either

exactly is this drama? A scientific experiment is being staged. A bird is suffering inside a glass
chamber. In fact, it has fallen into a dead faint. It may even be on the point of death (Glover).
The air pump is supposed to work like a vacuum, which will take away the air inside the glass

Ashes By Susan Beth Pfeffer
Ashes by Susan Beth Pfeffer is about a girl who is caught in a situation in which her father
attempts to bribe her to do something immoral. One message suggested in this story is how
misdirection and trickery can negatively affect relationships between a parent and their child.
Throughout the course of the story, the father of the main character is shown feeding his daughter,
Ashes, an endless string of compliments such as You re one in a million . He gives her many
words of positive reinforcement to try and persuade her to steal money from her mother. He needs
this money to pay back some guys, whom of which are after him. He claims that he will pay her

As seen in this quote, Ashes father is misdirecting her by sneakily telling her that she made a
good decision to offer to help him steal the money. This evidence clearly represents how Ashes
father is misleading her with lies and it will most likely reflect in their relationship negatively. A
third scene that reflects the idea that manipulation can negatively affect the relationship between a
child and their parent is when the story quotes Am I really? I ask, not needing the reassurance. I
knew I wasn t a million in one girl,no matter how often Dad told me I was. I still loved hearing
him say it. This proves that Ashes appreciates her father s compliments and people generally
respond comliently to things they appreciate, so her father understands that complimenting her will
be a good persuasion method. When all of this evidence is put together,it is easy to comprehend
that manipulation can very easily negatively affect relation between a parent and child. The
compliments were told by Ashes father to get what he wanted; money. All of the compliments
Ashes father gave to her are doubted by her but nonetheless greeted by open ears. These examples
prove that Ashes father was trying to get her to steal her mother s money using

The Use of Images in William Carlos Williams , The Young Housewife
As is typical of most Modernist poetry, William Carlos Williams uses very specific images in The
Young Housewife to reveal not merely a particular circumstance or event, but to also suggest
underlying themes and ideas of his subject matter. For example, he gives to the reader various real
and imagined images, such her moving about in negligee behind closed doors, or her going about
her daily affairs, that are at once very seductive and suggestive of ideas that supercede their
appearances. These images especially accentuate the young housewife s naturalness and beauty.
However, they are quickly contrasted by a comparison drawn by Williams of the young lady to a ...

If the leaves are separated from the tree, they quickly lose their color and texture, drying up until
they are brown and brittle, and die.
Taking this into consideration, we can now move on to what we know about Williams young
housewife. Truthfully, very little is mentioned about her except, of course, her relative age and her
marital status (for some reason these two things just seem to jump out of the text). It is very clear,
however, that Williams does not limit the young housewife to these two aspects of her life, but also
emphasizes other aspects in particular her natural beauty and sexuality, and her separation and
isolation from the outside world.
It is evident that The Young Housewife is a very sexually charged poem. Through its subject
matter, its language, its imagery, and even its use of phrasing, Williams accentuates the young
housewife s seductive and almost unrestrained nature. For instance, He describes her moving about
behind closed doors, dressed in negligee, or going to the curb un corseted to call ice man, or
allowing her hair to hang freely, only periodically tucking it in. All of these images suggest strongly
that the young housewife is a natural and unrestrained character. She is free any imposed social
constraints that has the power to squelch her pristine and almost wild nature.
This sense of unrestraint of the young housewife, however, is purely essential, and not actual or

Child Left Behind Act
The possible risks of passing a child to the next grade level due to the No Child Left Behind Act

tremendous impact on their quality of education, testing skills, learning, and funding. The No
Child Left Behind Act was passed in the year of 2002. It was established to require states and
school districts to ensure that all of the students are learning and are reaching their highest potential.

Two Factors By Innate Intelligence
Ryan Abdullah 11.2
(a)What is meant by the term innate intelligence? [2]
It is a form of intelligence that is said to be derived from decadence through heredity.
(b)Describe two factors that may influence a person s level of intelligence. [4]
Diet, the intake of a proper balanced diet containing a variety of different foods is necessary for
the physical development of an individual within a society. If an individual does not develop
properly, he/she will not be able to perform at the same level as he/she could. As he/she won t be
able to perform at the same level there intelligence will be altered (usually in a negative manner).
Educational opportunities, if a person comes from a fortunate background they might have the
opportunity to pursue their education in private schools and higher education as the cost as a
percentage of their total income will be lower than that of a person from an unfortunate background.

This can easily brought about by many factors such as how the questions on the actual test are
formulated; this creates distorted results. The factor of Stress in an examination greatly changes
the reflection of ability when a student takes an exam as the stress can cause the student to not
answer questions in the way he/she usually would usually do. This skews the data and makes it
less representative of the students overall ability.Examinations rely on memorization not skills and
knowledge of a subject. This is easily seen in exams revolving around manual skills such as written
practical examinations where a student might know what to do in real life but does not know how

Taming Of The Shrew Gender Roles
Teaching the works of William Shakespeare is relevant and necessary. Perhaps the relevance of
his writing is taken for granted, perhaps it is necessary to re examine the role of Shakespeare for
the modern audience. The most controversial play Taming of the Shrew performed between 1590
and 1592 by William Shakespearebrings to our attention the genderbias and gender expectations
portrayed by women. The key message of Shakespeare s the Taming of the shrewis also about
favouritism in which Katherina feels neglected as her dad gives more attention to his younger
daughter Bianca. This leads to Katherina s shrewish behaviour. There are lessons for the modern
audience to learn from the characters in the play especially about gender bias/... Show more content

Katherina is a character portrayed in the play who clearly links to why women in society could
act violently and shrewish. Baptista says For shame, thou hiding of a devilish spirit! . The use
of negative connotation in this quote is to portray the emotion Baptista has on her daughter. As
taming of the shrew depicts Katherina s behaviour to be vicious and shrewish in the beginning
of the play; she is seen tying up her younger sister; this scene has an exceptionally dramatic
stagecraft and an eye catching opening as a woman from such a respectable foundation would
not have longed for being as shrewish as Katherina. Katherina s father Baptista even consents to
Katherina resembling this in one of the scene, as he declares she is hiding a devilish spirit . Her
dad not treating Katherina equally as her younger sister Bianca creates envy for Katherina and
makes her act shrewish. Indeed, even today, neglection by a beloved one can influence each
other s prosperity and prompt undesirable rough practices by youngsters. It can likewise make
clashes between each other in society. Along these lines, Katherina is a very stressed character to
depict the play s pertinence in the present society in the subject of favouritism. Baptista s neglect
of Katherina in act 2 scene 1 is to be noted. She is your treasure...for your love to her, lead apes in
hell.

Egoism And Ethical Egoism
Egoism is the idea of self interest. It elicits what controls, and give the ambitions our self interest.
When philosophers carefully observed egoism. Their thesis of egoism voiced that our intuition
controls what we do and there is two form of self interest. We have descriptive which they think
temporarily that people s drives instantaneous aspiration. The normative way is where our self
interest is developed based on experience and power. Theories of egoismalso study the intentions
behind our actions. For example, do we act for love, religion, or wealth? Who benefits from our
actions, is it the individual or the whole of society? Two theories exist that try to answer these
questions, namely the theories of Ethical Egoismand Psychological Egoism.
Ethical Egoism is the normative theory that our self concept should not be viewed as solitary
but instead as part of society. In this respect, our actions should also be for the benefit of society.
Ethical Egoism isn t about self deprivation, but rather about helping yourself by helping others as
well. It relies not just on improving one s self but also on improving the structure of society. The
strong version of Ethical Egoism states that everything we do for our own good is moral and
must always be promoted. The weak version states that although acting for one s own good is
usually for the good of society on the whole, there may be conditions in which personal desires
have to be suppressed in order to maintain social morality. The weak version integrates the
individual into society in such a way that he or she must be willing to make sacrifices for the
benefit of others.
In contradiction to Ethical Egoism, Psychological Egoism presents itself as a much different
perspective altogether. Psychological Egoism is the descriptive variant that states all human
actions to be the result of selfishness. The core of this theory focuses on a different definition of
self concept or ego. However, there are many identifiable fallacies of Psychological Egoism. Firstly,
the theory is based on intangible terminologies of the inner self that cannot be physically examined.
Furthermore, when we do try to study Psychological Egoism in terms of scientific observations
such as human

Effective Teaching Strategies for Students with...
According to Heward (2009), students with intellectual disabilities have significant limitations in
both intellectual functioning and in adaptive behavior. Learning, reasoning, and problem solving,
as well as conceptual, social, and practical skills are all areas of difficulty for these students. While
students with intellectual disabilities usually have poor memories, slow learningrates, attention
problems, difficulty generalizing what they have learned and lack of motivation, there are effective
educational strategies that teachers can use to help these students be more successful and ultimately

strategy was used. Not only did this video show the importance of using task analysis and visual
supports with students with intellectual disabilities, but it also showed the importance of teaching
for generalization and maintenance from school to other environments. As noted by Heward
(2009), community based instruction is an excellent way for students to increase likelihood of the
generalization and maintenance of a new skill. Once simulation training is done in the classroom,
teaching in the actual setting with real stimuli helps students become more independent. It is also
important that skills are taught and practiced over and over with feedback that is, specific,
immediate, positive, frequent and differential (Heward, 2009). Another strategy that is crucial to
the development of students with intellectual disabilities is social skills instruction. According to
Heward (2009), teaching students appropriate social and interpersonal skills is essential because
of their limited cognitive processing skills, poor language development, and inappropriate
behaviors. In a study by Elliot, Pring and Bunning (2002), the effects of social skills training on
adolescents with intellectual disabilities was examined by assessing their teacher s measure of
their learning and their own perception of their learning. Kavale and Forness (1996) found that

This is an essential organization s business component that composes of a continuance plan for the

Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) this is the system recovery time, it is the available time to

Recovery Point Objective (RPO) this is the extent or amount of data loss that a critical business
system can tolerate.
The above are the recovery time framework that will assist in calculating the time and form
through which a business will evolve before collapsing (Hiles, 2002).
To do a business impact analysis, the element of component dependency arises. Components
dependencies are the interdependency between the exploratory components and the planning
components. With the planning component, the organization will dwell much on the minimizing
and mitigating the risks that will lead to business disruption, while the exploratory component will
dwell so much on discovering and identification of vulnerable areas within the business. Their
dependency is as important as the two areas. For an organization to mitigate the risks, it should be
aware of the areas that are more vulnerable to risks, and if an organization identifiers the risk then
it will have to look for ways to reduce its occurrence or the impacts. Mostly the planning happens
after the exploratory component (Cardoza, 2006).

Similes In Dulce Et Decorum Est
Wilfred Owen s poem Dulce et Decorum est shows how harsh and terrible war really was. Owen
uses language features such as similes, personification and strong adjectives to make the readers
feel pity, disbelief and disgust at the struggles these men went through during the war.
Throughout the poem the poet makes the reader feel disgust using violent imagery to show the
harsh conditions that the soldiers experienced, and how the war affected them. This is shown
when an unlucky soldier is described dying in a gas attack. His comrade sees him dying and
describes it by saying ...under a green sea, I saw him drowning, and his face was hanging like a
devil s sick of sin . This shows that the soldier is drowning in the gas and has lost control of his
face and breathing. This simile disgusts the reader, because we can imagine the soldier drowning
in his own fluids while his friends can do nothing but watch helplessly from afar. This helped me
understand how scary war can be, as it can cause people to die painfully and... Show more content

Populist Party Research Paper
The Populist party was a third party of the 1890s formed to fight for the rights of working people.
This party was largely made up of farmers. There were several reasons why this party was formed.
By the beginning of the 1880s, millions of farmers had found themselves trapped under the
mountains of debt that they couldn t get out of. There were various causes of why this happened
with these farmers.
One of the reasons why farmers had debts was because of the switch to industrialized farming.
Farmers used new industrial technology to increase the amount of crops that they grew. For
instance, they started using equipment and supplies for planting such as big tractors and
harvesters. Farmers were competing and had to buy these machines in order to produce more
crop. To buy these big machines, farmers took out loans from banks. However, by using this
concept of industrialized farming, farmers produced more and more food which meant that prices

economy of the country. Additionally, William J. Bryan only focused on urban voters and had no

Prejudice And Racism Exposed In The Bible
Generalities and blanket statements can be refuted because of the all or nothing aspect, and this
certainly is the case with the statement that everyone is a little bit racist. Racism does exist; that is
without question. However, I am not willing to say that every human has racist tendencies within
his/her heart.
In the beginning of time, God created man in his image (Genesis 1:29, New King James Version).
In both the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 10:17, New King James Version) and the New
Testament (Romans 2:11, New King James Version), we read that God does not show respect or
partiality to any person. Therefore, if man is created in God s image, and God does not show
partiality to any person, then the possibility exists that not everyone is a little bit racist. To say
otherwise is equivalent to saying that God is racist.

As does the former, Gate s quote, Jefferson reaches these conclusions, in some part, from his
reading of Phillis Wheatley s poetry. Yes, he conceded, she may very well have written these works,
but they are derivative imitative, devoid of that marriage of reasoning and transport that is, in his
view, the peculiar oestrum of the poet. By shifting the terms of authenticity from the very
possibility of her authorship to the quality of her authorship Jefferson indicated her for a failure of a
higher form of authenticity (Gates 49) demonstrates, Gates , blatant objectivity. There is something
underlying that is imperative to understanding just how impartial Gates is. Gates, himself is an
African American man, yet he offers evidence that is unpopular, contradicts his beliefs and may
well offend him, still, his opinions are (especially in his case) free of bias. This impartiality is
indicated by phrases such as, he conceded, Jefferson indicated, and, in his view. Authenticity, is an
important word as it is essential to Jefferson s argument, which would subsequently make Wheatley
s authorship creditable. Yet again, Gates objectivity is shown as he presents the argument, For
wheatley s critics, her sacrifices, nor courage, her humiliations, her trials would never be enough.

weekday flat, renting a furnished flat will save them time and money on buying and transporting
their own furniture. This is why buying unfurnished flats and filling them with high quality
furniture is such a great investment opportunity. Landlordology says that furnished flats can be
much more profitable in the long run to landlords than unfurnished flats and also have numerous
benefits that tenants are looking for. Here are just a few reasons why and some demographics
looking for furnished flats:
1.More Appealing to New Tenants
Some tenants are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Renting out two or three bedroom flats means that their families can also stay with them during
their work visit. It is a much better saving for business travellers than the minibar at a hotel and
much nicer to have a fridge full of food or a washer and dryer when they need them without having
to wait for hotel room service. Even just a sofa to lie on and a tv to watch at the end of a long day
are a bonus.
5.Students
Parents who are looking for flats for their children starting university will want somewhere
temporary but also safe and comfortable. This is another market which has a high demand for
rented furnished apartments. Luxury apartments with built in security systems will be attractive to
parents, particularly parents of girls living alone. Students can enjoy their university life with
luxury amenities and their parents have peace of mind that they are staying safe.
As you can see, there are many advantages to tenants for renting furnished flats and many different
markets that landlords can tap into. Done correctly, it can be a great investment opportunity that
returns money quickly and has potential for long term financial

The Safety Practices Of Motorcycle Accidents
Imagine the ripple effect created by losing a fellow service member, friend, or loved one due to a
motorcycle accident. Senior enlisted leaders should understand the significance of motorcycle
accidents because they have a large impact on all branches of the U.S. military. This paper will
cover the problem motorcycle accidentspresent to the military, discuss some of the safety practices
currently in place to reduce deaths related to motorcycle accidents, and make recommendations to
help reduce motorcycle accident deaths.
Problem
Motorcycle related deaths have a large impact on the U.S. military. The loss of a friend or loved
one is already significant, but the loss of a military member carries with it the loss of training,
knowledge, and manning to that community and branch of the military. It spans the entire service
as shown when the USS Makin Island (LHD 8) performed a burial at sea for the late Master Chief
Sutton, who passed away due to a motorcycle accident while stationed on board (Peak, 2016).
Motor vehicle accidents account for one third of the deaths among the U.S. military annually. From
1999 to 2012, there were 4,479 motor vehicle accident related deaths among members of the
military, with 25 percent attributable to motorcycle accidents (Armed Forces Health Surveillance
Branch, 2013). Over that period, non motorcycle motor vehicle accidents declined while motorcycle
related accidents steadily increased, accounting for a higher percentage of deaths in motor

The Life Of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
John Dickson Carr writes an extensive biography The Life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. With a
combination of the biography and Adler s Individual Psychology one can paint a picture of who
this famous man really was. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born on May 22nd of 1859 to Charles
Doyle and Mary Foley in Edwardian England, he was the third child but first boy born to the
young couple. Eventually they had 9 children in all, 7 of which made it into adulthood and 2 of
those were male. Mary adored young Arthur and filled his head with romantic stories of their Irish
heritage. She was a vivacious woman full of family pride. Charles Doyle was a seemingly
depressed alcoholic that did not spend the greatest amount of time with his family. He was an...

The family was actually Catholic; Arthur and his siblings had been raised in this religion. While
Arthur excelled at school, he found the classes dry and uninspiring. He loved history but in a more
romantic and descriptive fashion, the type of history found in his favorite book, Ivanhoe. He
believed that the teachers, who were Fathers, of the school undervalued his talent and that the
teachers did not like or respect him. The belief was erroneous; the teachers at his school,
Stonyhurst, knew how intelligent and talented Arthur was but also how stubborn he could be. This
is exemplified by his constant and intentional rule breaking that lead to severe punishments he
endured to simply prove that he was strong and unbreakable. Even with his troublemaking
approach, Arthur made it through the school with top marks. After his time at Stonyhurst the Ma
am insisted he continue on into medical school, which he did. Alfred Adler, developed a theory to
describe an individual s personality, through the theory Arthur s life can be illustrated.
Alder s personality theory is called Individual Psychology, it has an emphasis on how culture and
society influences not only the development of personality but also each behavior and emotion one
experiences in their life. Earlier theories state that personality is driven by base instincts, be it
pleasure or survival but Adler begs the question as to why a mother would refuse

Arkadia In Terms And Conditions
Following Lexa s death, The 100 completely focused on Arkadia in its latest episode. The episode
finally saw a major turn around of a certain character, while the resistance inside the camp
continued to fight against the dictator that is Charles Pike. Let s have a look at the main
storylines of Terms and Conditions . Bellamy And let s immediately start with Bellamy. Finally,
the normal Bellamy seems to be back. After two Grounders urged him at the beginning of the
episode to choose the right side, Bellamy reacted by shooting both dead and responding: I do that
everyday . Throughout the episode, it was made clear that Bellamy was still very much on Pike s
side when he arrested Sinclair, attemped to shut down the Grounder mutiny and stopped Kane from
delivering Pike to the Grounders. It was in that last moment that something changed in Bellamy. I
will talk more about the relationship between Kane and Bellamy in a bit, but it seemed that Kane
had finally gotten through to Bellamy. When Pike ordered Kane s execution, Bellamy finally saw
the real threat inside the walls of Arkadia. I still... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That was the case in season 1, it happened in season 2 and now again in season 3. We weren t
given any insight as to why he joined Pike and co other than his mother being Pike s right hand.
His turn around also happened in this episode, but whereas we got some insight into Bellamy s
turn around we didn t know why Monty suddenly had a change of heart. Monty has also been a
character I feel largely indifferent about and, despite him joining Pike, continue to do so. That
doesn t mean his actions in this episode didn t frustrate me, but they frustrate me less than
Bellamy s actions. I m glad Monty is back to the good side, although his mother is suspicious of
him. Speaking of Monty s mother, she is just as bad as Pike and I d prefer her to die soon as well.
Sorry Monty, you just got her back, but I want her to

Impressionism And Its Impression On Modern Art
Impressionism And its Impression on Modern Art
One of the earliest forms of communication and documentation was art, from cave paintings, to
Egyptian Hieroglyphs, to Renaissance portraits. Throughout the beginning of time, artistic style has
evolved, and is still continuing to evolve. One early impact on Modern Art was Impressionism.
Impressionism was defined as French nineteenth century art movement between 1867 and 1886
that marks the momentary break from tradition in European painting. In the middle of the
nineteenth century the Academie des Beaux Arts dominated French arts. The Academie was the
preserver of traditional French painting standards of content and style. Historical subjects,
religious themes, and portraits were valued; Landscapes and still lifes were not. The Academie
preferred carefully finished images that look realistic when examined closely. Paintings in the
style were made up with precise brush strokes carefully blended to hide the artist hands in their
work. Color was restrained and were often toned down farther by using a gold varnish. The
Academie held an annual art show called the Salon de Paris. In the early 1860 s four young
painters Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Frederic Bazille met while
studying under the academic artist, Charles Gleyre. They discovered that they shared an interest in
painting landscapes and contemporary life rather than historical or mythological scenes. During the
1860 s the Salon rejected many

Significance Of The Globe Theatre
Elizabethan drama remains some of the most appreciated and world renowned to ever exist.
Despite its early foundation in the mid 16th century to early 17th century, plays from William
Shakespeare, Ben Jonson and Christopher Marlowe, almost five hundred years later are regularly
produced and performed to a modern audience. No dramatist, living or dead, has been more
frequently reprinted or performed, or translated into a greater variety of languages...Shakespeare in
performance is now reaching larger audiences than ever before in history . (S.Schoenbaum, 1979)
One of the main reasons for the longevity of Elizabethan theatrical success was the construction of
The Globe Theatrein 1599. With the construction of The Globe came notable improvements in
special effects, costumes, makeup and the size of audiences attending the performances.

The simplistic architecture throughout The Globe and its productions can be recognised as
another example of its lasting influence as this tradition remains within modern performances in
the 1997 Globe and its own construction. Theatrical innovation was quite creative with regards
to special effects and sound. These were managed by using fireworks, drums, and even firing
canons throughout the dramas. When Shakespeare wrote plays, all the action took place on a
small stage with little more than a painted wall to suggest the setting. If a scene called for
thunder, stagehands pounded a drum or rippled sheet metal. If a scene required a ghost or a god,
stagehands lowered him on a winch line or sent him up through a trap door. A character wounded
in a sword fight clapped a hand to his chest, bursting a pouch beneath his shirt to release blood or a
facsimile thereof . (Cummings,

Scaffold Of Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne
Seth Delposen
Mrs. Macacci
Literary critic essay
December 1, 2015
Scaffold s Role in Scarlet Letter
The scaffold, in Puritan times, was where criminals were shamed, ridiculed, and executed by the
community. When they were released from jail, the first place that they went was to the scaffold, to
be shown to the community. In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the scaffold was not
only a place of shame, but it was where character s social status rose and fell throughout the book.
Hester Prynne s world came crashing down atop the scaffold. After spending time in jail for being
pregnant outside of wedlock, she had to face her community, wearing a big scarlet letter across
her bosom. The scarlet letter was the community s punishment for her sin and was their way of
trying to get her to repent. The community forced her to wear the scarlet letter at all times and
she was constantly shunned and abused for it. She wrestled with the decision to leave, and one
time even considered killing Pearl and committing suicide. Also, she sees her husband for the
first time in a long time on top of the scaffold. At the first scaffold scene, it says, Be that as it
might, the scaffold of the pillory was a point of view that revealed to Hester Prynne the entire track
along which she had been treading, since her happy infancy. Standing on that miserable eminence,
she saw again her native village (Hawthorne 88). This not only shows Hester as miserable, but it is

Ansel Adams Half Dome
I have decided to do my essay on one of Ansel Adams most famous photographs from his long
and successful career titled Half Dome. The photograph of Half Dome medium of the photograph
is black and white. Ansel Adams in my opinion is one of the greatest photographers of all time. I
believe his photographs are a work of art. Ansel Adamswas a true visual genius with a camera, he
went to a location set up his camera and the end result was always perfect. When I look at a
photograph that was taken by Ansel Adams I feel at ease. It is almost like taking a short vacation
in front of a photograph. The way Ansel Adams uses black and white in his photographs is amazing
to me. The one thing that amazes me the most about Ansel Adams is even... Show more content on

I also believe that Ansel Adams takes what he is given; I do not believe that he waits for the
clouds to show up at a current spot in the sky before he takes a picture. In the case of Half Dome
Ansel Adams is using pure straight photography meaning that when he takes a photograph he
wants to make it look as realistic as possible, this also means that Ansel Adams did not use any
kind of manipulation software to edit his pictures in any way. In the photograph of Half Dome
Ansel Adams uses no staged light sources in the photograph of Half Dome. The only light source
that is used in the photograph of Half Dome is from the setting sun, or the sun that is beginning to
set. Because of that I believe in the photograph of Half Dome Ansel Adams uses pure/straight
lighting. The pure lighting comes from the sun setting. Ansel Adams also does not use any diffuse
or direct lighting in the photograph of Half Dome. Ansel Adams uses black and white as his
medium in his photographs. Because of the white that stands out in his photograph of Half Dome, I
believe Ansel Adams uses cool colors. Ansel Adams also uses a complementary harmony in the
photograph of Half Dome, black and

  • 3. The Ozone Depletion The earth atmosphere has many layers; the first two layers are the troposphere, the stratosphere, and the ozone layer which sits in the lower area of the stratosphere. The troposphere layer is where a lot of human activity occurs, such as planes and mountain climbing. The next layer is the stratosphere and this is where the ozone layer is located as well. The ozone layer helps protect people from ultraviolet radiation that mainly come from the sun. The ozone layer can be different depending on the season and the location. Over the past few years, the ozone layer has been depleting because of human activity. The main issue of the depletion of the ozone layer is the man made products that have been created and has cause bad effect on the ozone layer itself. The ozone is a gas in the atmosphere that protects all living things on Earth from damaging ultraviolet rays that come from the sun. With the ozone layer depleting, it would be difficult for anything to survive much longer or not at all. The ozone acts as a shield to protect living things from absorbing the ultraviolet ray and keeps them from being damaged. Many man made materials are causing the ozone layer to deplete at a faster rate. The author states, Emissions of chlorine and bromine from CFCs and halons are to blame for excessive stratospheric ozone depletion(Ivanovich and Calm). This type of emission is going into the atmosphere and is breaking down the ozone layer. Consequently, this is resulting in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the Penguins, they survive many harsh winters and attacks from animals such as the Sea Lion, because of this show of strength in one of the world s harshest of environments, the Author admires these Penguins and how they live. Ways they show their loyalty to their home and ways they survive this hellish place are simple, yet extremely hazardous tasks. For those who have survived, their child is awaiting food from the mother. After feeding the child, they pass it back to the mother as the father is in need of food. Before departing, the Father and Child sing to each other to remember who is who after the father returns from feeding. As time passes, these chicks slowly grow older and get much larger, eventually losing their baby feathers. During most of their growing up stage, they are left alone as they are old enough to look out for themselves and that of their fellow penguins. • 9. The Primacy Of Salomon V Salomon s The Corporate Veil In this light the Supreme Court, in order to arrive at a fair outcome for the wife, managed to set aside the companies separate legal personality without actually lifting the corporate veil. As a result of this ruling, it is lucid that the primacy of Salomon v Salomon has been affirmed. Nonetheless, the case itself is significant as it also recognized for the first time that piercing the corporate veil is possible; albeit in limited circumstances. As such, rather then being referred to as an archetype of the courts reluctance towards corporate disregard, the case suggests the antitheses. Evidence of this can be found in Lord Sumption s declaration that a recognition of a limited power to pierce the corporate veil, in carefully defined circumstances, is necessary if the law is not to be disarmed in the face of abuse . In addition, Lord Sumption s attempt in Prest to formulate a principled method to veil piercing, which in itself will be discussed in greater detail later in this essay, has provided a renewed beginning to an already complex area of company law (tan chang article). In essence, while it is true that the threshold in which the corporate veil may be pierced has been raised, a detailed analysis of the case illustrates that the abuse of corporate personality will not go unpunished (tera firm/mcardle). Having considered the ratio of Prest, when assessing the law in relation to corporate disregard as a whole it becomes evident that corporate personality has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Adler s Ethos In How To Mark A Book When I read a book or a paper, I read it and sometimes make a few mental notes. What do you do? Do you mark and write things down? In Mortimer J. Adler s paper, How to Mark a Book, he argues the best way to get the most out of reading is to mark the book or paper, leaving ones thoughts on the pages. Some say this slows them down, or leaves behind a messy, ruined book, but Adler claims reading slower and writing thoughts down allows the reader and author to have a conversation that will enhance the readers understanding of the text. Through his paper, Adler attempts to use the rhetorical triangle of ethos, pathos, and logos to connect the audience to his paper and to convince them the best way to understand a text is through marking it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ethos Out of the three, ethos, pathos, and logos, Mortimer J. Adler uses ethos, or the ethical character and credibility of the speaker, most effectively, in order to convince his audience that he has a right to be explaining the usefulness of marking a book while reading it. In the very beginning, there is an introduction about Adler which states things such as, He founded and fathered the Great Books Program, edited the Encyclopedia Britannica, and wrote dozens of books on educational, intellectual, and philosophical topics (Adler, n.d./2012, p.1). He also earned his PhD from Columbia University after dropping out of high school, demonstrating his dedication to learning. This sets the stage for the reader to feel that the author is a credible source for writing on this subject. As the article continues, Adler retains his credibility by mentioning other point of views. He says, You may say that this business of marking books is going to slow up your reading (Adler, n.d./2012, p.4). Although he does mention these other points of view, he refutes them quickly. For example, the next two sentences say, It probably will. That s one of the reasons for doing it (Adler, n.d./2012, p.4). One message suggested in this story is how misdirection and trickery can negatively affect relationships between a parent and their child. Throughout the course of the story, the father of the main character is shown feeding his daughter, Ashes, an endless string of compliments such as You re one in a million . He gives her many words of positive reinforcement to try and persuade her to steal money from her mother. He needs this money to pay back some guys, whom of which are after him. As seen in this quote, Ashes father is misdirecting her by sneakily telling her that she made a good decision to offer to help him steal the money. This evidence clearly represents how Ashes father is misleading her with lies and it will most likely reflect in their relationship negatively. A third scene that reflects the idea that manipulation can negatively affect the relationship between a child and their parent is when the story quotes Am I really? I ask, not needing the reassurance. I knew I wasn t a million in one girl,no matter how often Dad told me I was. I still loved hearing him say it. This proves that Ashes appreciates her father s compliments and people generally respond comliently to things they appreciate, so her father understands that complimenting her will be a good persuasion method. When all of this evidence is put together,it is easy to comprehend that manipulation can very easily negatively affect relation between a parent and child. The compliments were told by Ashes father to get what he wanted; money. All of the compliments Ashes father gave to her are doubted by her but nonetheless greeted by open ears. These examples prove that Ashes father was trying to get her to steal her mother s money using ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Use of Images in William Carlos Williams , The Young Housewife As is typical of most Modernist poetry, William Carlos Williams uses very specific images in The Young Housewife to reveal not merely a particular circumstance or event, but to also suggest underlying themes and ideas of his subject matter. For example, he gives to the reader various real and imagined images, such her moving about in negligee behind closed doors, or her going about her daily affairs, that are at once very seductive and suggestive of ideas that supercede their appearances. These images especially accentuate the young housewife s naturalness and beauty. However, they are quickly contrasted by a comparison drawn by Williams of the young lady to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the leaves are separated from the tree, they quickly lose their color and texture, drying up until they are brown and brittle, and die. Taking this into consideration, we can now move on to what we know about Williams young housewife. Truthfully, very little is mentioned about her except, of course, her relative age and her marital status (for some reason these two things just seem to jump out of the text). It is very clear, however, that Williams does not limit the young housewife to these two aspects of her life, but also emphasizes other aspects in particular her natural beauty and sexuality, and her separation and isolation from the outside world. It is evident that The Young Housewife is a very sexually charged poem. Through its subject matter, its language, its imagery, and even its use of phrasing, Williams accentuates the young housewife s seductive and almost unrestrained nature. For instance, He describes her moving about behind closed doors, dressed in negligee, or going to the curb un corseted to call ice man, or allowing her hair to hang freely, only periodically tucking it in. All of these images suggest strongly that the young housewife is a natural and unrestrained character. She is free any imposed social constraints that has the power to squelch her pristine and almost wild nature. This sense of unrestraint of the young housewife, however, is purely essential, and not actual or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Taming Of The Shrew Gender Roles Teaching the works of William Shakespeare is relevant and necessary. Perhaps the relevance of his writing is taken for granted, perhaps it is necessary to re examine the role of Shakespeare for the modern audience. The most controversial play Taming of the Shrew performed between 1590 and 1592 by William Shakespearebrings to our attention the genderbias and gender expectations portrayed by women. The key message of Shakespeare s the Taming of the shrewis also about favouritism in which Katherina feels neglected as her dad gives more attention to his younger daughter Bianca. This leads to Katherina s shrewish behaviour. There are lessons for the modern audience to learn from the characters in the play especially about gender bias/... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Katherina is a character portrayed in the play who clearly links to why women in society could act violently and shrewish. Baptista says For shame, thou hiding of a devilish spirit! . The use of negative connotation in this quote is to portray the emotion Baptista has on her daughter. As taming of the shrew depicts Katherina s behaviour to be vicious and shrewish in the beginning of the play; she is seen tying up her younger sister; this scene has an exceptionally dramatic stagecraft and an eye catching opening as a woman from such a respectable foundation would not have longed for being as shrewish as Katherina. Katherina s father Baptista even consents to Katherina resembling this in one of the scene, as he declares she is hiding a devilish spirit . Her dad not treating Katherina equally as her younger sister Bianca creates envy for Katherina and makes her act shrewish. Indeed, even today, neglection by a beloved one can influence each other s prosperity and prompt undesirable rough practices by youngsters. It can likewise make clashes between each other in society. Along these lines, Katherina is a very stressed character to depict the play s pertinence in the present society in the subject of favouritism. We have descriptive which they think temporarily that people s drives instantaneous aspiration. The normative way is where our self interest is developed based on experience and power. Theories of egoismalso study the intentions behind our actions. For example, do we act for love, religion, or wealth? Who benefits from our actions, is it the individual or the whole of society? Two theories exist that try to answer these questions, namely the theories of Ethical Egoismand Psychological Egoism. Ethical Egoism is the normative theory that our self concept should not be viewed as solitary but instead as part of society. In this respect, our actions should also be for the benefit of society. Ethical Egoism isn t about self deprivation, but rather about helping yourself by helping others as well. It relies not just on improving one s self but also on improving the structure of society. The strong version of Ethical Egoism states that everything we do for our own good is moral and must always be promoted. The weak version states that although acting for one s own good is usually for the good of society on the whole, there may be conditions in which personal desires have to be suppressed in order to maintain social morality. The weak version integrates the individual into society in such a way that he or she must be willing to make sacrifices for the benefit of others. In contradiction to Ethical Egoism, Psychological Egoism presents itself as a much different perspective altogether. Psychological Egoism is the descriptive variant that states all human actions to be the result of selfishness. The core of this theory focuses on a different definition of self concept or ego. However, there are many identifiable fallacies of Psychological Egoism. Firstly, the theory is based on intangible terminologies of the inner self that cannot be physically examined. As noted by Heward (2009), community based instruction is an excellent way for students to increase likelihood of the generalization and maintenance of a new skill. It is also important that skills are taught and practiced over and over with feedback that is, specific, immediate, positive, frequent and differential (Heward, 2009). Another strategy that is crucial to the development of students with intellectual disabilities is social skills instruction. He believed that the teachers, who were Fathers, of the school undervalued his talent and that the teachers did not like or respect him. The belief was erroneous; the teachers at his school, Stonyhurst, knew how intelligent and talented Arthur was but also how stubborn he could be. • 45. Impressionism And Its Impression On Modern Art Impressionism And its Impression on Modern Art One of the earliest forms of communication and documentation was art, from cave paintings, to Egyptian Hieroglyphs, to Renaissance portraits. Throughout the beginning of time, artistic style has evolved, and is still continuing to evolve. One early impact on Modern Art was Impressionism. Impressionism was defined as French nineteenth century art movement between 1867 and 1886 that marks the momentary break from tradition in European painting. In the middle of the nineteenth century the Academie des Beaux Arts dominated French arts. The Academie was the preserver of traditional French painting standards of content and style. Historical subjects, religious themes, and portraits were valued; Landscapes and still lifes were not. The Academie preferred carefully finished images that look realistic when examined closely. Paintings in the style were made up with precise brush strokes carefully blended to hide the artist hands in their work. Color was restrained and were often toned down farther by using a gold varnish. The Academie held an annual art show called the Salon de Paris. In the early 1860 s four young painters Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir, Alfred Sisley, and Frederic Bazille met while studying under the academic artist, Charles Gleyre. They discovered that they shared an interest in painting landscapes and contemporary life rather than historical or mythological scenes. During the 1860 s the Salon rejected many ... The simplistic architecture throughout The Globe and its productions can be recognised as another example of its lasting influence as this tradition remains within modern performances in the 1997 Globe and its own construction. Theatrical innovation was quite creative with regards to special effects and sound. These were managed by using fireworks, drums, and even firing canons throughout the dramas. When Shakespeare wrote plays, all the action took place on a small stage with little more than a painted wall to suggest the setting. If a scene called for thunder, stagehands pounded a drum or rippled sheet metal. If a scene required a ghost or a god, stagehands lowered him on a winch line or sent him up through a trap door. • 47. Scaffold Of Scarlet Letter By Nathaniel Hawthorne Seth Delposen Mrs. Macacci Literary critic essay December 1, 2015 Scaffold s Role in Scarlet Letter The scaffold, in Puritan times, was where criminals were shamed, ridiculed, and executed by the community. When they were released from jail, the first place that they went was to the scaffold, to be shown to the community. In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the scaffold was not only a place of shame, but it was where character s social status rose and fell throughout the book. Hester Prynne s world came crashing down atop the scaffold. After spending time in jail for being pregnant outside of wedlock, she had to face her community, wearing a big scarlet letter across her bosom. The scarlet letter was the community s punishment for her sin and was their way of trying to get her to repent. The community forced her to wear the scarlet letter at all times and she was constantly shunned and abused for it. She wrestled with the decision to leave, and one time even considered killing Pearl and committing suicide. Also, she sees her husband for the first time in a long time on top of the scaffold. At the first scaffold scene, it says, Be that as it might, the scaffold of the pillory was a point of view that revealed to Hester Prynne the entire track along which she had been treading, since her happy infancy. Standing on that miserable eminence, she saw again her native village (Hawthorne 88). This not only shows Hester as miserable, but it is the start of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the photograph of Half Dome Ansel Adams uses no staged light sources in the photograph of Half Dome. The only light source that is used in the photograph of Half Dome is from the setting sun, or the sun that is beginning to set. Because of that I believe in the photograph of Half Dome Ansel Adams uses pure/straight lighting. The pure lighting comes from the sun setting.
