Compare And Contrast Iranian And French Revolution
French Revolution vs. Iranian/Islamic Revolutionоїї
оїѕ
I. Introduction
The word revolution means re birth. Many societies have had revolutions and this had affected
how our societies live today and how the politics are in country or area. In this essay I will
compare and contrast the french revolution that lasted from 1789 to 1799 and the Iranian or as
some call it the Islamic revolution that lasted from January 1978 to february 1979. The French and
iranian revolution were both political revolutions that has affected our lives and politics today.
The french and iranian revolutions are both political revolutions that have made politics today
different than if the revolutions hadn t happened.
II. French revolutiono A. Why it happened ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The French revolution had more initiative from the people, they made uproar and made more
damage. The Iran citizens made uproar and were emotionally triggered about how their country and
they were treated, but the citizens did not have as numerous events where they demonstrated or
created uproar.
IV. Third compare/contrast point between the French revolution and Iranian/Islamic revolution is
the time period it happened in.
I think that revolutions time periods were crucial when they happened it has shaped how the
revolution turned out in the end. The time periods were very busy time periods in our history due
to the fact that there was different things happening in other country in that time.
Conclusion
To conclude all revolutions have something in common and that is to make a big change in how
society gets treated and every revolution begins with someone with a voice that decides to speak
up for himself. In Frances case Robespierre decided to lead the revolution and in Iran s case it
craved that Khomeini was brave and decided to come back to his country. If these revolution hadn
t happened both governments would not be as they are today and we would see politics in a whole

Museums and Photographs in the Open-Air
The shot shows a male figure viewing photographs. We see the person from the rear, look over
his shoulder, past him, as he passes along the collection of images, and at the same time we look
into some of the faces that are visible in the photos and which seem to be looking at us outside of
the picture frame rather than at the person in the picture viewing them. We are dealing here with
black and white photographs from the late 1920s, which, among others, were taken by the German
anthropologist and racial theorist Egon von Eickstedt between 1926 and 1929.1 A selection of these
pictures, created in connection with research into the indigenous population of India listed under
the generic term Adivasiand this should be stressed first without explicit reference to the
problematic race theory based history of its origins, was brought back to India in 2012.
Accompanied by a team of ethnologists from Germany and England, the photographs were
exhibited in Tejgadh, in the state of Gujarat in northwest India, in different locations: in the still
young Museumof Voice of the Adivasi Academy, in individual private houses in the neighbouring
villages and in a consecrated place in the open air, reserved for rituals. This latter mentioned setting
has been recorded in the above mentioned photo. Mounted on brown card, the photographs hang in
long lines, three rows above one another on a movable wattle wall, which flanks the place of
encounter in the outside space. A presentational

Film Analysis Of Fight Club
Fight Club is the opposite of Watchmen, the style of David Fincher and his faded green
aesthetic fit perfectly in the world of Fight Club and help to give the Film a sense of identity
that wouldn t exist if the film was created by a lesser director. The way this Film is shot, the
editing, the score, it all combines to help tell the story in a new way that feels entirely separate
from the book. Additionally, Fincher works to bring the concepts of the book to life through
adaptation not translation, he knows that many of the themes and ideas of the book will not work
if simply ripped out of the page and thrown on screen. He decided early on that the Novel would
have to change to fit the screen, he knows that communicating messages across... Show more

Things like The lady sitting next to Jack in the airplane wearing glasses and a red coat and then
Tyler pops up in the exact same spot, wearing similar clothing. Mirrors not showing the reflection
of Tyler or Marla, Bob s shirt being burned to the car wreck that Jack is investigating. Hell, there s
an entire section about how dildos in the Film relate to how the Film is actually a metaphor for
Jack s sexual identity and the battle between Masculinity (Represented by Tyler) and Femininity
(Represented by Marla) happening in Jack s head. Now hearing these ideas from me with no proof
may make them seem far fetched, but I really recommend you go to the site and read up on it. I
won t cover it here because I can t say anymore without simply stealing the author s intellectual
property, but I think you get the point; Fight Club is a testament not only to adaptations but also to
masterful filmmaking.
The edit at the beginning of this section showing Jared Leto falling to the ground was no accident.
Watch it again, you can tell that Sound is taken full advantage of. Whereas a book would never
have that sound, in the fight club you aren t reading Fight Club you re feeling it in your gut.
Fight Club is a success in terms of an adaptation and of well done filmmaking. Why Watchmen
fails is a complete lack of Identity

Harriet Tubman Greatest Achievements
What Was Harriet Tubman s Greatest Achievement?
I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery. Thomas Jefferson once said. Harriet Tubman
was a strong and brave African American woman. She was born in Dorchester County,
Maryland. She grew up in Bucktown, Maryland. She grew up like a neglected weeds
(Background Essay). It showed that her childhood is not very lovely. At the age of 12, she was
doing field work and hauling logs. When her master died, in 1849, she makes her life changing
decision, I had reasoned this out of my mind; there was one of two things I had right to; liberty or
death; if I could not have one I would have the other (Background Essay). This showed that she is
going to fight for her and others freedom but if she does not get freedom then she would get death.
Although Harriet Tubman s achievements as a caregiver in Upstate New York and being a spy
leader of the Combahee River raid were important, but her achievement of being a conductor of
the Underground Railroad was the greatest. One of Harriet Tubman s noteworthy achievements
was her work as a caregiver in Upstate New York. She cared for the needy people, The aged, ...
the babe deserted, the epileptic, the blind, the paralyzed, ... all found shelter and welcome. (Doc
E). This showed that she cared and welcomed all kinds of people. Much of Harriet Tubman s
time spent taking care of the poor people in her home. Harriet often had six to eight people in her
care. (Doc E) This showed

Gandhi Research Proposal
Research Proposal on Gandhi s Performance at the
1931 Round Table Conference
YHU3220: Gandhi at Chauri Chaura | Lu Zhao Boyu (A0127866R)
A. Abstract: In 1931, Mahatma Gandhi was appointed as the sole representative of the Indian
National Congress to the second Round Table Conference. The conference was organized by the
British Government to discuss constitutional reforms in India because of increasing demands for
swaraj. However, there were no substantial results regarding India s constitutional future that was
achieved at the conference. To investigate the failure of this conference, this research paper
proposes to examine Gandhi s performance during meetings with the other delegates, i.e. how he
presented himself and how other stakeholders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also documents Gandhi s daily activities, observations on people, meetings arranged for the
conference and reactions from the English. Furthermore, the Appendix of the book includes
pertinent pamphlets published on the occasion of his visit. This text is extremely useful as it
provides a factual account of Gandhi s visit and can be used to corroborate with primary resources
such as historical newspaper articles, especially on British reaction to Gandhi.
Secondary Resource 2: Michael J. Beatty, Ralph R. Behnke Barbara Jane Banks. (1979). Elements

With reference to its abstract, this essay explores the applicability of dialogic communication in
apprehensive public speaking settings, in particular Gandhi s address, I Live Under No Illusion
during the 1931 Round Table Conference. The author analyzed Gandhi s performance according
to Makay and Gaw s seven characteristics of dialogue. This text is fundamental to the research
paper as it provides a sound and reliable assessment of Gandhi s performance that could be utilized
in evaluating his contribution to the outcome of the conference. Furthermore, primary resources
such as film documentaries of Gandhi s speeches and interviews will be used to verify the claims
in this essay, and other methods of performance analysis would be looked

Theme Of Light In A Streetcar Named Desire
Light vs dark is a recurring theme in the play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams.
This play circles around the main character Blanche and how she is trying to start a new life
leaving her past sins behind her. Slowly her past starts to catch up with her and eventually she has a
downfall in mental health and is sent away. Throughout this play there are many instances where
the lightand the absence of light affects the character Blanche. She finds comfort in the darkness
and it greatly influences her connection with reality, the relationship she has with Mitch, and her
slow mental decline.
The motif light vs dark is prominent because it affects relationships in the story greatly, most
noticeably Blanches relationships. When Blanche ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning of the play she is nonchalant about covering up light because she feels more put
together. She tells Mitch to put a little colored paper lantern... over the lightbulb because she can
t stand a naked lightbulb (Williams 60). This shows that she still cares about not being seen in
the light but not as much as later in the play. In scene 5 she refers to the lantern covering the
light but she says soft people have got to... put a paper lantern over the light... you ve got to be
soft and attractive. And I I m fading now, she s rambling about how she is not how she was in her
youth (Williams 92). She s stating that she needs that covering of the light to be the new , more
pure and innocent, person she is trying to be. Soon this darkness that she finds comfort in turns into
shadows of grotesque and menacing form, (Williams 159) haunting her thoughts as she is slowly
grown more insane from her past catching up to her. The darkness, which was once her safety net,
has turned into her nightmare. Light vs dark accentuates every aspect of Blanche s life and, in turn,
affects the people around her. The straining of Blanche s relationship with Mitch, her crumbling
mental state, and her detachment from reality are all seen through the motif light vs dark. Without
this recurring image there would be no lies and destruction of characters. The downfall of this
character is brought by her use of darkness

How Did Paul Klee Influence Contemporary Artists
Paul Klee s artwork remains a constant controversy in subject matter and validity of uniqueness. In
order for one to analyze and critique his work, one would have to understand the metamorphosis of
his life experiences, which influenced his creative philosophy and images he chose to express. His
diverse body of work cannot be confined to any particular artistic movement. In seeking to develop
his personal style, he produced a body of work embodying Impressionism, Cubism, Constructivism,
and abstraction which influenced the works of 20th century contemporary artists. Evident
throughout his oeuvre, the inspiration of contemporary artists and his ideologies of rhythmic
structures and the spiritual nature of artistic expression determined the art... Show more content on

He studied art at the Munich Academy training in conventional figure and landscape drawings. Klee
traveled to Italy and Paris where he was inspired by the antiquities of Rome and studied the Old
Masters in the Louvre. In Germany he was attentive of the Munich exhibitions of Impressionists and
Post Impressionists painting and was particularly intrigued by the works of van Gogh, CГ©zanne,
and Matisse (Temkin). In 1912, he viewed the work of Cubists and Italian Futurists in
exhibitions and was compelled by the color theories of Robert Delaunay s art (Rodgers). During
the outbreak of World War I, Klee was enlisted to serve in the military where he produced work
exploring expressionist qualities (Temkin). In 1921, he taught at an art school commonly known
as Bauhaus. His teachings reflect his artistic philosophy and study of pictorial and color theories in
modern art (Rodgers). During the rise of the Nazi regime in 1931, he was an instructor at the

While the November figures still put domestic yields in the month as down by 8.9% compared to
2008, and international yields off by 23.2% Qantas clearly sees signs of improvement after the
New Year, which is also when the dilution of yields by massive discount sales of forward

This view is also confirmed by a separate Qantas announcement today that it is restoring some of
the domestic capacity cutbacks of the past year from the end of March.

Dress Codes In Schools
Should schools have a dress code? Harvard University recently put out an article talking about how
54% of schools in America have a strict dress code and the other 46% either don t or only have a
small dress code rule. Schools should have a dress code but it doesn t have to be very strict.
Schools having a dress code is necessary but some schools go a little overboard with dress code.
For example, the article Harvard recently put out addresses that dress codes are a must in most
schools but not a big deal in the rest of the schools. As another, Harvard also said, Dress codes
are important but some schools take it a little too far. This is important because schools should
have a dress code but, a dress code that is not very strict. For example

First Person Narrative Research
First person narrative research is a term that uses a group of approaches that in turn depend on
spoken words, written works or pictures/drawings of people. These approaches tend to focus on the
lives of individuals as told through their own stories. The importance and focus within such
approaches is in the narrative, usually based on both what and how it is narrated. The audience
validates narrative research. Being a very useful tool and all, narrative method may not always
be strong enough to stand alone as a central piece of evidence in concluding a point. Regardless if
it is part of a presentation or whether it is a stand alone piece of information, it must be accepted,
based on its own merits as an individual experienceand... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The narrative method allows for an intimate look into the emotions, thoughts and experiences
within a story based on the fact that another has witnessed such or intern through another s work
along for a great picture to be established. Being easily able to validate a claim or narrative account
through another is also a huge benefit of the method making it easier for the truth to come out and
harder for lies to see the light. Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods
tend to come from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not
seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. Nevertheless, many problems can also
be seen within the method harder and less likely to prevent. The limited perspective is detrimental
in the sense that only that one perspective s views through emotion and feeling are used to describe
the situation if there had only been one account. Unless there are multiple viewpoints from different
individuals who think and act differently put together to create one image from all different sides,
which isn t very practical to do. The narrative method also creates a restricted view in the sense that
anything the reader does not know, you don t know. Such as taking into consideration different
socio contexts and the individuals thinking spectrums. The narrative account may also be biased,
understanding the story through ones eyes, leaves room for events and facts to change based on
what the individual thinks, wants, and knows at the

The City State Of Zamon Dor
Set into the towering side of Mt.Momentum, the city state of Zamon Dor dwarfed the surrounding
duchies and townships. Zamon Dor was the land of inventions and innovations; there was nothing
its tinkerers could not think up, nothing its architects could not build. Clockwork and its
mechanisms made the city what it was; they offered all sorts of comforts that other nations could
only dream of. The city itself was alive with the hustle and bustle of daily life: men could be

The garden was small, but this is where the timewalker spent most of her life.
The lush green of the palace gardens offered a much needed juxtaposition against the sea of
machines outside of the garden walls. There were no birds or insects to be seen, as neither
existed in Zamon Dor, and so there was only the sound of the wind as it rustled the leaves of the
great tree in the middle of the garden. This was where Kali, the palace timewalker, came every
day from mid morning to just before dusk. Kali was the definition of serenity, her appearance was
that of an older child, aged anywhere between thirteen to sixteen. Her skin was fair, with jet black
hair and steely eyes that could pierce through even the toughest of men.
Sir Kairos, a member of the consulship and Kali s overseer, was a short, stout man who was half

power. He was one of the few who was given his position, rather than being born into it.

cutting the silence, I need to see you, very important business. Orders from the Chief Magistrate
himself! And you know how he gets when he s kept waiting. With that, Kairos departed, surely to
attend to the very important matter of deciding what outfit would best please the Chief Magistrate.

Use of a caste system was a part of the Cherokees social structures before contacts with whites. The
white south created its own social caste system with white planters as the aristocracy and the
African slave at the peon (Bullard, F.B. 1989). The colonists who settled in the south were different
than their counterparts in the North. The main heritage of the southern colonists was the Celtic in
contrast to the English heritage of the colonists who settled in the north. The Celtic heritage these
southerner colonists brought to North America from Europe had a profound effect on their
folkways as well as influencing their Indian neighbors. Traditional Cherokee lands had
incorporated ass of Kentucky, much of Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, North
Carolina and a small part of Virginia and what is now West Virginia. The spatial proximity was
one reason for the development of an identity with the Southern colonist and their institutions and
traditions (Bullard, F.B. 1989). Indian agent for the United States, George Butler, commented that
he felt the majority of the material progress in the Indian Territory was a result of slavery. The
age of masters measured in the distribution in slaves provides evidence for the upward mobility of
slavery for the Cherokee. The principal difference from the white south was the treatment of slaves
in the Cherokee Nation. The Cherokee avoided mistreatment of the slaves and Major Ridge s wife

A Fine Line Between Utilizing Natural Rights and Breaking the Law Everyone is entitled to
natural rights such as freedom of speech, freedom to protest, and freedom of beliefs or religion.
However, these are personal, or private, rights, and are therefore limited in the work force. Once
one brings these personal rights, more specifically freedom of religion, into the work force, they
violate the separation of church and state. The separation of church and state is simply a law
preventing government officials to serve with biased opinions based on personal beliefs. All
government agents are expected to serve with an unbiased opinion, and it is difficult to do that if one

well. Although this dispute has gotten a bit messy, underneath the crossfire of conflicting opinions,
there are the underlying truths of the story. Kim Davis is a citizen of the United States, and as a U.S.

Literature In Lord Of The Flies And To Kill A Mockingbird
Over the summer I was opened up to a new and adventurous side of literature. From a plane crash
and savagery, to racial issues, to child suffrage it really widened my view on life s hardships.
Reading Ellen Foster, Lord of the Flies, and To Kill a Mockingbird really stretched my
imagination. Each book had there own twists and turns, but I believe they all linked in amazing
ways. One way all three novels connected in my opinion, would be how tenacious kids are when
they have to overcome adversity.
In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, there is a plane crash which abandones a large amount
of little boys with no adults on an island stranded with no food, water, or shelter easily accessible.
The boys struggle to survive through the whole book and end up turning on each other because of
a disagreement of what is more important, a signal fire or hunting. A quote from this book reads,
Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in! (Golding page. 104). This quote displays
what Jack believes is the right path of the boys surviving on the island, hunting. Ralph on the
other hand, had a different approach of obtaining order. This quote explains just that, We ve got to
have rules and obey them. After all, we re not savages. We re English, and the English are best at
everything. (Golding page. 40). All being under sixteen of age they shouldn t have to deal with this
kind of situation. They are obviously not responsible enough to survive on their own being that

The Uniqueness Of The Kodaly Method
Chapter One The Uniqueness of the Kodaly Method Zoltan Kodaly chose a child developmental
approach when developing his method. This approach teaches skills in the order and pace in
which the child develops rather than subject logic. In a subject logic approach there is no
relationship between the order of presentation and the order in which children learn easily. The
subject matter is simply organized in a fashion that seems reasonable in terms of content. The
subject logic approach rhythmically begins with the whole note and progresses in a manner that is
mathematically reasonable, proceeding next to the half note and then to the quarter note. This
progression is, however, very difficult for a beginning student who has not yet even learned how
to feel a basic beat. Melodically speaking, the diatonic major scale is the general starting point
from a subject logic approach. This also causes issues because the average young child cannot
accurately sing a diatonic major scale. According to research, most children are able to sing a range
of only five or six tones and cannot produce half steps in tune. Unlike the subject logic approach, the
child development approach of the Kodaly method requires arranging subject matter into patterns
that align with the sequence of normal child abilities at various stages of growth. Rhythmically
speaking, moving rhythms are more child related than sustained rhythms. Children can relate a
rhythm such as steady beat quarter

Essay On African Enslavement
But it is exclusively the ongoing legacy of African enslavement the identification of blackness with
inferiority and whiteness with its opposite that persists and potentially disrupts every political and
economic struggle in the United States today, whether it be for a living wage, for civil liberties, for
the right to organize, for education and health care, for gender equality, for equal rights of
immigrants, for fair taxation of wealth, for human rights of gay, lesbian and transgender people

Africa was robbed of its most precious resource its people. Unlike wage workers, whose labor
power was purchased as a commodity and whose product was taken, the entire physical
existence of Africans was stolen and sold outright. Being African became, as a matter of law and
custom, a mark of being a slave, an item for sale in total as a commodity. The value of this
commodity accrued completely to the slave master with nothing for the slave. In contrast, being
white became the mark of being free, a vessel of labor power. Free white workers owned
themselves and they could sell their labor power as a commodity or not, for their own benefit.
Between Black and white was erected a spectrum of color in which one s status as pariah could be
determined by the darkness of one s complexion. The perpetuation of the myth of the white race
and its presumption of freedom and social mobility continues to infect social and class struggles
to this day, even as thousands of white working people are thrown out of work and pushed into
homelessness and poverty. No matter how bad things get whites are supposed to find solace in the
fact that they are not black because for a majority of African Americans economic depression has

Referencing What is referencing? Referencing is acknowledging all of the material (books,

your assignment. Because this is other people s work / ideas, you need to acknowledge their

the difference? The important thing is that both the author and then the date are included. While
the date is always in brackets, the author may be inside or outside the brackets, but should always
be adjacent to the date. If the authors surname is in the brackets then remember the comma

The exact rules are found in the APA manual in section 3.95, starting on page 208. For two
authors you always include them both. Outside the brackets you use the word and between the

How Intelligent Fixtures Affect The Production Arts
Intelligent lighting fixtures also known as moving or automated fixtures, are multi function lights
designed with the mechanical abilities that allow them to do more than a standard lighting
fixture (Revolvy, 2016). These lighting fixtures have functions of colour, gobo, intensity, focus,
prism, movement of pan and tilt, rotation speed and effects. Thought this essay the impact that
intelligent fixtures have had on the production arts as well as the possibilities of where this
technology may be going in the future will be explored. Intelligent fixtures fall into two
categories of what they can be, this is a moving head and a moving mirror. Out of the two the
moving head is seen the most, it is a main body on a yoke. With this unit the entire head moves
around and this always the beam to be aimed in certain direction. While the mirror unit have a
small mirror in front of the leans which causes the beam to reflect off a mirror that can be aimed
in all different types of directions (Leerman, 2013). In the production arts industry it was actually
the music genre with concerts and touring that began using these lights which in turn was a tipping
point towards them being used in the mainstream of the industry. They were and are still used to
create a dynamic experiences at concerts and on tours. The idea was for the audience to be able to
see the colour snaps, effects and them moving around to the music to add to the entire performance.

Integumentary System Essay
The integumentary system consists of skin, hair, glands, and nerves protecting someone s body.
There are many diseases of the integumentary system, two of these diseases include alopecia
areata (AA) and vitiligo. Alopecia is a disease causing partial or complete baldness in certain
areas of the body where hair normally grows. It only affects one percent of the population. On the
other hand, vitiligo is a disease causing the loss of pigmentation in certain areas of the skinlooking
like white patches. Neither of the diseases are completely understood by doctors and scientists,
but it is scientists believe that autoimmune thyroid disease is more common among both alopecia
areata and vitiligo patients. Alopecia areata is a disease leaving people with oval or round

The empirical evidence, suggests that immigrants improve labor market efficiency by providing
additional and complementary labor force. Labor market impact of immigration depends on the
size and geographic location of the immigrant population and on the skills they bring to the labor
market and how these skills compare with those of natives (Borjas, 2006:4). Broadly speaking,
immigration is not detrimental to the host labor market or economy. Most of the research on the
labor market impact of immigration has been concerned with the impact of immigration on wages
rather than labor force participation or unemployment rates.
Borjas (2003) noted that the impact of wages fluctuates from study to study but clusters around zero
which is contradictory with theoretical prediction of a downward pressure. Whether the reasons are
methodological issues (misspecification, endogeneity, and heterogeneity), market forces in specific
cases (area vs. factor proportion approach4) or institutional factors has not been established.
A meta analysis of international research (Longhi et at, 2004) identifies common findings that are
also likely to apply to Argentina. With an overall mean of 0.119 standard deviations on wages, the
authors highlight that the downward effects is larger in more rigid labor markets, that studies that

St. Paul Sustainable Ecosystem
Sustainability is whether or not an ecosystem can survive for long periods of time. Throughout this
chapter I will be talking about whether the forest in the backyard of St. Paul is a sustainable
ecosystem and what factors keep the balance.
First of all an ecosystem is all the biotic things that live in one area and the chemical and physical
environment that surrounds them. Usually in a sustainable ecosystem there is everything that the
ecosystem needs already provided within it. So what does an ecosystem need? Well first of all
there needs to be an abundance of lots of biodiversity, which means that there are multiple different
types of plants and animals as well as various different species. Because there is so much different
flora and fauna ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The carbon cycle is also a very important part of the ecosystem. The carbon cycle is how the carbon
gets transferred from the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. The carbon cycle
starts with plants using the CO2 in photosynthesis. During photosynthesis plants use water, energy
from the sun and carbon to make a compound called glucose as well as releasing oxygen. Then as
the plants get eaten by consumers the glucose (which includes carbon) moves up the food chain.
Along the way animals use that glucose for energy, as well as breathing out the carbon in the form
of carbon dioxide. Animals and humans harness this energy by our cells that break down the
glucose. This is a process called cellular respiration. We then release the carbon in the form of
carbon dioxide back into the air by exhaling or eliminating waste.
If along the chain a producer or consumer dies without being eaten the carbon will decompose and
will get buried under everything else. After many years the carbon that was in it will turn into
fossil fuels ready to be burned by us and release more of the already abundant carbon dioxide into

Summary Of A Rose For Emily By Emily Grierson
Emily Grierson died at the mere age of 74, still having her whole life ahead of her. She had been
forced to live a lonely life, which later led to her becoming oppressed. Miss Emily was written
into a lonely woman by William Faulkner in his gothic story a Rose for Emily . Faulkner s gothic
literature describes the many different ways Miss Emily showed her oppression. In his story,
Emily lived alone in a house that was lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay .She wouldn t speak
to anyone about anything and would often isolate herself from the eyes of others by remaining in
her house for long periods of time.
Miss Emily Grierson seemed like a calm and independent woman that the whole neighborhood
knew about. People would often find themselves wishing for her to find a man, and when she did
they would wish for her to marry him. However, before she had found a man, she had her father,
who would strictly forbid her from =having any relationship with any man. Miss Emily respected
her father s wishes, obeyed his every rule, and even lived with him until she reached the age of
thirty and still found herself single. Her father s death affected Miss Emily greatly. She had at first
denied her father s death and left his corpse sitting in her dining room for three days before she
finally broke down. The detail that Faulkner wrote, about her denying her father s death, signalled
that she was suffering from oppression. Miss Emily Grierson was slowly starting to decay.

The main issue that we find in the managing choice of the IOC is the hegemony of power
enforced by the main investors. Some people may rile against the commercialization or
Americanization of the Olympics but figures show that the dollars from the US is critical for
the sustenance of the Olympic movement. Besides TV, the IOC s another major stream of
income is private partnership. ( D.Jones 2012) On the NBC side, it was a very smart move that
took place a while ago during the cold war, when USA used the Olympics to prove the
supremacy over the USSR. It s not only about broadcasting the games in their own country, but
also getting the visibility globally as the main protagonists of the global event. All this income
from the US for the committee is vital to keep the games happening, the big problem now days
is that the structure of the Olympics is entirely based on big companies paying the bills for the
massive costs that have to be covered to organize, manage and built facilities and events for the
games. So from a IOC s managing perspective the choice of keeping happy major investors
makes sense and it wouldn t be so criticized if it was a little less against the Olympic spirit.
Athletes being forced to race at early morning hours by McDonald s, Coca Cola s etc ads is not
really what the spirit of the event should be. But to make everything happen, someone has to pay

Reducing Medication Errors In Nursing
Reducing Medication Errors In Hospitals
Patient centered care and patient safety are the most important roles in nursing. Serious medication
errors are common in hospitals and often occur during order transcription or administration of
medication (Poon et al., 2010. p. 1). One important aspect of nursing is drug administration. It is a
multidisciplinary task including doctors, pharmacist and nurses. This paper will show evidence that
using electronic medication systems instead of paper based systems to administer medication will
reduce medication errors.
Change Model Overview The John Hopkins Nursing Evidence Based Practice change model used
in this paper is, Practice, the basic component of all nursing activity, reflects the translation of what
nurses know into that they do (Dearholt, S. Dang, D., 2012. p. 34). This model has steps to

Georgia s Craft Beer Industry
Problem Statement From the end of prohibition in 1933 to the turn of the new millennium,
Georgia s craft beer industry had seen more failure than success. Over a 67 year span, 9 of the 14
microbreweries to operate in the state failed. Was it the cost and availability of big beer and
product loyalty that caused this to happen?
But in 2013, Georgia s craft beer industry took a drastic turn. Microbreweries were opening at an
exponential rate. That year, Creative Loafing, an alternative news weekly, reported eight
microbreweries opening in the city of Atlanta, alone. Georgia had entered into a craft beer boom.
Today, there are 31 microbreweries operating in Georgia, and 24 more in planning, bringing the
total to 55 of these small production breweries. What could have changed to cause an historically
failed industry to boom in such a short period of time?
Millennials.
According to U.S. Census data, Georgia s population of Millennials, defined as those born between
1980 and 2000, significantly increased between 2010 and 2014, the generation growing from
15.3% of the population in 2010 to 26.61% of the population in 2014. (Pew Research, U.S. Census).
Earlier this year, Forbes reported that the group with the most purchasing power in the United
States had shifted from the Baby Boomers to the Millennials. It is estimated that Millennials in the
U.S. alone will spend around $200 billion annually by 2017.

The Racial Tension in the NFL
Author Peter S. Morris once said, If baseball is America s favorite pastime, then football must be
its passion (Morris, 2004). Throughout the years, the sport of football has risen through the ranks to
become the spectator sport in North America. Football has been interwoven into the American
psyche and culture. Millions of dedicated and loyal fans keenly await the chance to pack out
stadiums at the beginning of each National Football League(NFL) season. They stare into the
dazzling field lights, clothe themselves in paraphernalia, and wildly cheer on the players of
their chosen team. Football has become a part of the American life. The NFL embodies the fun
in American society. It is seventeen weeks filled with excitement, high spirits, and a competitive
atmosphere. A piece of American society that isn t so jubilant has been making serious
headlines as of lately. These series of incidents have been a Public Relations nightmare for the
beloved league. The use of racial slurs both on the field and off the field by NFL players is an
issue that, until recently, was not openly discussed in the sport. The number of incidents has
gradually increased throughout the years. As a solution to this growing problem, NFL committees
have recently decided to impose a 15 yard penalty on any and all players that use the racial slur
Nigga(er) while playing the game. The racial tension in the NFL, the pros of the new penalty, and
the cons of the new penalty are certainly worth

The Ethics Of Human Genetic Engineering
Imagine the possibility of eliminating serious genetic diseases from the world. Imagine the idea of
treating, preventing or even curing diseases that are yet to be cured. Imagine the feeling of being
given improved health and a prolonged lifespan. This can all be accomplished with the aide of
genetic engineering. Human genetic engineering refers to the process of directly manipulating
human DNAto produce wanted results. DNA is a simple but very complex chemical that has the
power to change the world and has begun to do so already. Many opponents to gene therapy fail to
realize that genetic engineering has great potential to become very important in the biomedical
industry. Though controversy exists regarding the ethics of human genetic engineering, it can
produce numerous benefits, which outweigh its disadvantages and side effects; therefore, scientists
should be able to manipulate the human genome for the purpose of helping people with serious
medical conditions.
Genetic engineering in general has started to come about in the last fifty years but the idea of using
GET (Genetic Engineering Technology) to manipulate human embryos has surfaced within the past
few years. Russell Powell, Assistant Professor of Philosophy, says that there is mounting evidence,
ranging from advances in medical genetics to the successful genetic modification of laboratory
animals, that humans will eventually be able to alter many of their biological characteristics

Diabetes Of Diabetes Mellitus ( Dm )
Introduction:
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar levels
over an extended period of time. With symptoms including increased urination, thirst, and hunger,
diabetes is mainly due to loss of insulin production in the pancreas or lack of response to insulin
produced. As of 2015, nearly 415 million people worldwide have diabetes with the three main
types being Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. 90% of all diabetes cases are Type 2 (T2D) which is
characterized by insulin resistance, high blood sugar, and lack of insulin. Also known as noninsulin
dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), this disease is primary caused by obesity and lack of
exercise in genetically predisposed people and affects in nearly 29 million people in the US alone,
making it the 7th leading cause of death in the country (American Diabetes Association 2016).
The goal of a diabetes treatment plan is lowering HbA1c to below 7.0%, maintaining good glycemic
control. Glycated hemoglobin or HbA1c is a blood sugar test that reflects the average plasma
glucose concentration over the past three months. The first and best course of treatment is always
lifestyle changes that includes exercise, diet modification, and weight control. Unfortunately, when
this management plan fails or is insufficient, the next option is to take medications to lower HbA1c.
Five non insulin pharmacological options are available. First, biguanides in the form of metformin

if we interfere with the progress of our personality development (try to speed things up) we may
ruin the development of that individual s personality. Each stage involves certain
developmental tasks that are psychosocial in nature. Erikson coined the term identity crisis, a
personal psychosocial conflict that shaped a distinct aspect of personality ( Erikson, Britannica).
The various tasks are referred to by two terms, the first is what the individual is striving to
achieve and the second is what the individual is at risk of developing if he or she does not
successfully achieve the first term. Each stage has an optimal time to be achieved as well. Each
individual has his or her own pace to go through life; therefore, the optimal time to achieve a stage
in is more of a general guideline. If a stage is managed well, we carry

Enterprise Industrial Relations Essay
Todd (2012) has interviewed employer association representatives and examined their public
statements and submissions. From her research, she questions whether the changes to the industrial
relations system that employer associations advocate would enhance productivity. With regard to
issues such as penalty rates and job security, there is evidence that these relate to cost cutting and
enhanced managerial prerogative rather than productivity. Discuss
Introduction
During 2011 employer associations in Australia conducted an active lobbying campaign to
introduce legislative changes with respect to industrial relations. Predominantly they were seeking
to diminish the power of collective bargaining and increase managerial control under the ... Show

Ultimately employers indicate that unless businesses can become more flexible then in the long
term there will be no work available at all (Pye, 2012).
Statistical research by Eslake (2011) has established that for the last decade Australia has been
experiencing a decline in overall productivity. This supports the main thrust of the lobbyists, who
argue that rigid organisational pay and working conditions create an inflexible organisation which
is not able to compete in the international environment. They argue that there is a direct correlation
between increased organisational flexibility and productivity, and a number of large organisations
in Australia have suggested that barriers to productivity include a lack of flexibility, increasing
penalty rates, and restrictions on the use of contractors (Todd, 2012:350). They believe that these
inhibitors should be addressed in amendments to the FWA in order to secure a productive future for
Australia and the workforce in general.
Challenges
Todd (2012) questions the validity of these sweeping arguments made by employers seeking to
challenge the FWA. She draws upon wider research which demonstrates that generalisations linking
flexibility and organisational productivity should be treated with caution as the specifics of this
within organisations are also correlated to aspects of leadership and organisational culture
(Abernathy, 2011). In essence, small flexible

Group Minds, By Doris Lessing
We, as humans, like to believe that we always stand out in a crowd and never conform to please
society. We hold our freedom to be individuals higher than most of our other freedoms. Humans
believe that we always use this individualism to speak our opinions. We think that we would never
change our views to comply with a group. As much as we would like to believe this, it seems that
more often than not, we tend to follow the crowd. In her article Group Minds , Doris Lessing was
on the right track when she described how humans stand for choice and individualism, but when
faced with the situation, most tend to fall in line with the majority.
The title of Lessing s article speaks for itself, as it is no longer just our own mind that is making ...

As humans, we are drawn to groups for numerous reasons. Society as a whole is very social.
When you are a part of a group it allows you to be sociable. Additionally, we are drawn to these
groups because we have a craving to feel wanted. Humans enjoy the feeling of being wanted.
Another reason we are drawn together is we want to fit in. We desire to be accepted by others
and fear judgement if we don t agree with everyone else. This then causes us to conform to the
rest of society and act in a similar fashion. Humans wish to be accepted, and we try not to draw
attention to ourselves because of this. Love, support, and affection is what we gain from these
groups. Qualities such as these are what draws us to groups. In time of despair we tend to lean on
the other members to prevent us from sinking. The formation of cliques grants us a system of
dependable people, which is a main reason we sway towards

Night And Fog Analysis
Night and Fog is a short French documentary released in 1956, directed by Alain Resnais. Night and
Fog feature two abandoned concentration camp grounds, Auschwitz, and Majdanek. The film is
renowned as an artistic piece that captivates the complexity of trauma that transformed the post war
documentary to dismantle the realist mode that offered a transparent, conclusive, and morally
reassuring account of historical trauma (Kennelly). Resnais technique to transition/changeover
from black and white to colour footage parallels the past and present to reinforce the lasting effects
trauma imposes on one s mind, body and soul, both individually and within a community. The film
follows a linear path/order, beginning with a pan shot in colour of... Show more content on

Traumatic memory is inflexible, and invariable, often uncovering traumatic memories is a timely
process; intensely emotional and arousing experiences cannot be adapt within the memory system,
which can result in dissociation and the construction of traumatic memories (Explorations, 164).
Thus, Night and Fog is arguably not a long enough film to witness the Holocaust, in contrast to
Shoah and nine and a half hour film, by Claude Lanzmann, who argues his film captivates to
obscenity to understanding such trauma. Also, the changeover from black and white to colour
alludes to the recovery of memories, in essence, the grim fragmented images suggest flashes of
memory, such that a survivor may endure flashbacks of their past. Arguably, Cayrol is used as a
mode to captivate the experience of a survivor, and the road to recovery rather than striving to
present a perfect representation of the Holocaust, by providing an imperfect narrative, the viewer
gains clarity to the complexity of trauma. There are inherent differences between narrative and
traumatic memory; for example, narrative memory challenges the mental constructs, which enable
humans to make sense of their experiences. Thus, depending on one s psychological state, that
being immersed in familiar and expectable in contrast/juxtaposition to frightening and novel
experiences often do not fit easily into existing cognitive schemes (Exploration, 160). The films
unsettling images corresponding with Cayrol s apathetic voiceover and the powerful imagery, such
as the medicines were make believe, the dressings mere paper, the same ointment is used on every
sore. Sometimes the starving ate their dressings

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Iranian And French Revolution French Revolution vs. Iranian/Islamic Revolutionоїї оїѕ I. Introduction The word revolution means re birth. Many societies have had revolutions and this had affected how our societies live today and how the politics are in country or area. In this essay I will compare and contrast the french revolution that lasted from 1789 to 1799 and the Iranian or as some call it the Islamic revolution that lasted from January 1978 to february 1979. The French and iranian revolution were both political revolutions that has affected our lives and politics today. The french and iranian revolutions are both political revolutions that have made politics today different than if the revolutions hadn t happened. II. French revolutiono A. Why it happened ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The French revolution had more initiative from the people, they made uproar and made more damage. The Iran citizens made uproar and were emotionally triggered about how their country and they were treated, but the citizens did not have as numerous events where they demonstrated or created uproar. IV. Third compare/contrast point between the French revolution and Iranian/Islamic revolution is the time period it happened in. I think that revolutions time periods were crucial when they happened it has shaped how the revolution turned out in the end. The time periods were very busy time periods in our history due to the fact that there was different things happening in other country in that time. Conclusion To conclude all revolutions have something in common and that is to make a big change in how society gets treated and every revolution begins with someone with a voice that decides to speak up for himself. In Frances case Robespierre decided to lead the revolution and in Iran s case it craved that Khomeini was brave and decided to come back to his country. • 3. Museums and Photographs in the Open-Air The shot shows a male figure viewing photographs. We see the person from the rear, look over his shoulder, past him, as he passes along the collection of images, and at the same time we look into some of the faces that are visible in the photos and which seem to be looking at us outside of the picture frame rather than at the person in the picture viewing them. We are dealing here with black and white photographs from the late 1920s, which, among others, were taken by the German anthropologist and racial theorist Egon von Eickstedt between 1926 and 1929.1 A selection of these pictures, created in connection with research into the indigenous population of India listed under the generic term Adivasiand this should be stressed first without explicit reference to the problematic race theory based history of its origins, was brought back to India in 2012. Accompanied by a team of ethnologists from Germany and England, the photographs were exhibited in Tejgadh, in the state of Gujarat in northwest India, in different locations: in the still young Museumof Voice of the Adivasi Academy, in individual private houses in the neighbouring villages and in a consecrated place in the open air, reserved for rituals. This latter mentioned setting has been recorded in the above mentioned photo. Mounted on brown card, the photographs hang in long lines, three rows above one another on a movable wattle wall, which flanks the place of encounter in the outside space. A presentational ... Film Analysis Of Fight Club Fight Club is the opposite of Watchmen, the style of David Fincher and his faded green aesthetic fit perfectly in the world of Fight Club and help to give the Film a sense of identity that wouldn t exist if the film was created by a lesser director. The way this Film is shot, the editing, the score, it all combines to help tell the story in a new way that feels entirely separate from the book. Additionally, Fincher works to bring the concepts of the book to life through adaptation not translation, he knows that many of the themes and ideas of the book will not work if simply ripped out of the page and thrown on screen. He decided early on that the Novel would have to change to fit the screen, he knows that communicating messages across... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Harriet Tubman was a strong and brave African American woman. She was born in Dorchester County, Maryland. She grew up in Bucktown, Maryland. She grew up like a neglected weeds (Background Essay). It showed that her childhood is not very lovely. At the age of 12, she was doing field work and hauling logs. When her master died, in 1849, she makes her life changing decision, I had reasoned this out of my mind; there was one of two things I had right to; liberty or death; if I could not have one I would have the other (Background Essay). This showed that she is going to fight for her and others freedom but if she does not get freedom then she would get death. Although Harriet Tubman s achievements as a caregiver in Upstate New York and being a spy leader of the Combahee River raid were important, but her achievement of being a conductor of the Underground Railroad was the greatest. One of Harriet Tubman s noteworthy achievements was her work as a caregiver in Upstate New York. She cared for the needy people, The aged, ... the babe deserted, the epileptic, the blind, the paralyzed, ... all found shelter and welcome. (Doc E). • 7. Theme Of Light In A Streetcar Named Desire Light vs dark is a recurring theme in the play A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. This play circles around the main character Blanche and how she is trying to start a new life leaving her past sins behind her. Slowly her past starts to catch up with her and eventually she has a downfall in mental health and is sent away. Throughout this play there are many instances where the lightand the absence of light affects the character Blanche. She finds comfort in the darkness and it greatly influences her connection with reality, the relationship she has with Mitch, and her slow mental decline. In the beginning of the play she is nonchalant about covering up light because she feels more put together. She tells Mitch to put a little colored paper lantern... over the lightbulb because she can t stand a naked lightbulb (Williams 60). This shows that she still cares about not being seen in the light but not as much as later in the play. In scene 5 she refers to the lantern covering the light but she says soft people have got to... put a paper lantern over the light... you ve got to be soft and attractive. And I I m fading now, she s rambling about how she is not how she was in her youth (Williams 92). She s stating that she needs that covering of the light to be the new , more pure and innocent, person she is trying to be. Soon this darkness that she finds comfort in turns into shadows of grotesque and menacing form, (Williams 159) haunting her thoughts as she is slowly grown more insane from her past catching up to her. The darkness, which was once her safety net, has turned into her nightmare. Light vs dark accentuates every aspect of Blanche s life and, in turn, affects the people around her. The straining of Blanche s relationship with Mitch, her crumbling mental state, and her detachment from reality are all seen through the motif light vs dark. Without this recurring image there would be no lies and destruction of characters. The downfall of this character is brought by her use of darkness ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being a very useful tool and all, narrative method may not always be strong enough to stand alone as a central piece of evidence in concluding a point. Personal narratives and information gained from narrative methods tend to come from truthful sources based on not wanting to tarnish individual s credibility, and not seeing a reason in creating lies and misleading information. From a plane crash and savagery, to racial issues, to child suffrage it really widened my view on life s hardships. Reading Ellen Foster, Lord of the Flies, and To Kill a Mockingbird really stretched my imagination. Each book had there own twists and turns, but I believe they all linked in amazing ways. One way all three novels connected in my opinion, would be how tenacious kids are when they have to overcome adversity. In Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, there is a plane crash which abandones a large amount of little boys with no adults on an island stranded with no food, water, or shelter easily accessible. The boys struggle to survive through the whole book and end up turning on each other because of a disagreement of what is more important, a signal fire or hunting. A quote from this book reads, Kill the pig! Cut his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in! (Golding page. 104). This quote displays what Jack believes is the right path of the boys surviving on the island, hunting. Ralph on the other hand, had a different approach of obtaining order. This quote explains just that, We ve got to have rules and obey them. After all, we re not savages. We re English, and the English are best at everything. (Golding page. 40). • 23. The Uniqueness Of The Kodaly Method Chapter One The Uniqueness of the Kodaly Method Zoltan Kodaly chose a child developmental approach when developing his method. This approach teaches skills in the order and pace in which the child develops rather than subject logic. In a subject logic approach there is no relationship between the order of presentation and the order in which children learn easily. The subject matter is simply organized in a fashion that seems reasonable in terms of content. The subject logic approach rhythmically begins with the whole note and progresses in a manner that is mathematically reasonable, proceeding next to the half note and then to the quarter note. This progression is, however, very difficult for a beginning student who has not yet even learned how to feel a basic beat. Melodically speaking, the diatonic major scale is the general starting point from a subject logic approach. This also causes issues because the average young child cannot accurately sing a diatonic major scale. According to research, most children are able to sing a range of only five or six tones and cannot produce half steps in tune. Unlike the subject logic approach, the child development approach of the Kodaly method requires arranging subject matter into patterns that align with the sequence of normal child abilities at various stages of growth. Rhythmically speaking, moving rhythms are more child related than sustained rhythms. Children can relate a rhythm such as steady beat quarter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many diseases of the integumentary system, two of these diseases include alopecia areata (AA) and vitiligo. Alopecia is a disease causing partial or complete baldness in certain areas of the body where hair normally grows. It only affects one percent of the population. On the other hand, vitiligo is a disease causing the loss of pigmentation in certain areas of the skinlooking like white patches. Neither of the diseases are completely understood by doctors and scientists, but it is scientists believe that autoimmune thyroid disease is more common among both alopecia areata and vitiligo patients. The empirical evidence, suggests that immigrants improve labor market efficiency by providing additional and complementary labor force. Labor market impact of immigration depends on the size and geographic location of the immigrant population and on the skills they bring to the labor market and how these skills compare with those of natives (Borjas, 2006:4). Broadly speaking, immigration is not detrimental to the host labor market or economy. Most of the research on the labor market impact of immigration has been concerned with the impact of immigration on wages rather than labor force participation or unemployment rates. Borjas (2003) noted that the impact of wages fluctuates from study to study but clusters around zero which is contradictory with theoretical prediction of a downward pressure. Whether the reasons are methodological issues (misspecification, endogeneity, and heterogeneity), market forces in specific cases (area vs. factor proportion approach4) or institutional factors has not been established. A meta analysis of international research (Longhi et at, 2004) identifies common findings that are also likely to apply to Argentina. With an overall mean of 0.119 standard deviations on wages, the authors highlight that the downward effects is larger in more rigid labor markets, that studies that do not control for endogeneity of the proportion of ... Throughout this chapter I will be talking about whether the forest in the backyard of St. Paul is a sustainable ecosystem and what factors keep the balance. First of all an ecosystem is all the biotic things that live in one area and the chemical and physical environment that surrounds them. Usually in a sustainable ecosystem there is everything that the ecosystem needs already provided within it. So what does an ecosystem need? Well first of all there needs to be an abundance of lots of biodiversity, which means that there are multiple different types of plants and animals as well as various different species. Because there is so much different flora and fauna ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The carbon cycle is also a very important part of the ecosystem. The carbon cycle is how the carbon gets transferred from the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. The carbon cycle starts with plants using the CO2 in photosynthesis. During photosynthesis plants use water, energy from the sun and carbon to make a compound called glucose as well as releasing oxygen. Then as the plants get eaten by consumers the glucose (which includes carbon) moves up the food chain. Along the way animals use that glucose for energy, as well as breathing out the carbon in the form of carbon dioxide. Animals and humans harness this energy by our cells that break down the glucose. This is a process called cellular respiration. We then release the carbon in the form of carbon dioxide back into the air by exhaling or eliminating waste. If along the chain a producer or consumer dies without being eaten the carbon will decompose and will get buried under everything else. After many years the carbon that was in it will turn into fossil fuels ready to be burned by us and release more of the already abundant carbon dioxide into the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Summary Of A Rose For Emily By Emily Grierson Emily Grierson died at the mere age of 74, still having her whole life ahead of her. She had been forced to live a lonely life, which later led to her becoming oppressed. Miss Emily was written into a lonely woman by William Faulkner in his gothic story a Rose for Emily . Faulkner s gothic literature describes the many different ways Miss Emily showed her oppression. In his story, Emily lived alone in a house that was lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay .She wouldn t speak to anyone about anything and would often isolate herself from the eyes of others by remaining in her house for long periods of time. Miss Emily Grierson seemed like a calm and independent woman that the whole neighborhood knew about. People would often find themselves wishing for her to find a man, and when she did they would wish for her to marry him. However, before she had found a man, she had her father, who would strictly forbid her from =having any relationship with any man. Miss Emily respected her father s wishes, obeyed his every rule, and even lived with him until she reached the age of thirty and still found herself single. Her father s death affected Miss Emily greatly. She had at first denied her father s death and left his corpse sitting in her dining room for three days before she finally broke down. The detail that Faulkner wrote, about her denying her father s death, signalled that she was suffering from oppression. Miss Emily Grierson was slowly starting to decay. William ... Some people may rile against the commercialization or Americanization of the Olympics but figures show that the dollars from the US is critical for the sustenance of the Olympic movement. Besides TV, the IOC s another major stream of income is private partnership. ( D.Jones 2012) On the NBC side, it was a very smart move that took place a while ago during the cold war, when USA used the Olympics to prove the supremacy over the USSR. It s not only about broadcasting the games in their own country, but also getting the visibility globally as the main protagonists of the global event. All this income from the US for the committee is vital to keep the games happening, the big problem now days is that the structure of the Olympics is entirely based on big companies paying the bills for the massive costs that have to be covered to organize, manage and built facilities and events for the games. Over a 67 year span, 9 of the 14 microbreweries to operate in the state failed. Was it the cost and availability of big beer and product loyalty that caused this to happen? But in 2013, Georgia s craft beer industry took a drastic turn. Microbreweries were opening at an exponential rate. That year, Creative Loafing, an alternative news weekly, reported eight microbreweries opening in the city of Atlanta, alone. Georgia had entered into a craft beer boom. Today, there are 31 microbreweries operating in Georgia, and 24 more in planning, bringing the total to 55 of these small production breweries. What could have changed to cause an historically failed industry to boom in such a short period of time? Millennials. According to U.S. Census data, Georgia s population of Millennials, defined as those born between 1980 and 2000, significantly increased between 2010 and 2014, the generation growing from 15.3% of the population in 2010 to 26.61% of the population in 2014. Imagine the idea of treating, preventing or even curing diseases that are yet to be cured. Imagine the feeling of being given improved health and a prolonged lifespan. This can all be accomplished with the aide of genetic engineering. Human genetic engineering refers to the process of directly manipulating human DNAto produce wanted results. DNA is a simple but very complex chemical that has the power to change the world and has begun to do so already. Many opponents to gene therapy fail to realize that genetic engineering has great potential to become very important in the biomedical industry. Though controversy exists regarding the ethics of human genetic engineering, it can produce numerous benefits, which outweigh its disadvantages and side effects; therefore, scientists should be able to manipulate the human genome for the purpose of helping people with serious medical conditions. Genetic engineering in general has started to come about in the last fifty years but the idea of using GET (Genetic Engineering Technology) to manipulate human embryos has surfaced within the past few years. With symptoms including increased urination, thirst, and hunger, diabetes is mainly due to loss of insulin production in the pancreas or lack of response to insulin produced. As of 2015, nearly 415 million people worldwide have diabetes with the three main types being Type 1, Type 2, and gestational. 90% of all diabetes cases are Type 2 (T2D) which is characterized by insulin resistance, high blood sugar, and lack of insulin. Also known as noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), this disease is primary caused by obesity and lack of exercise in genetically predisposed people and affects in nearly 29 million people in the US alone, making it the 7th leading cause of death in the country (American Diabetes Association 2016). The goal of a diabetes treatment plan is lowering HbA1c to below 7.0%, maintaining good glycemic control. Glycated hemoglobin or HbA1c is a blood sugar test that reflects the average plasma glucose concentration over the past three months. The first and best course of treatment is always lifestyle changes that includes exercise, diet modification, and weight control. Unfortunately, when this management plan fails or is insufficient, the next option is to take medications to lower HbA1c. Five non insulin pharmacological options are available. Erikson is most famous for his expansion and refinement of Freud s theories of personality development. Erikson argued that development functions by the epigenetic principle, which says that we develop through a predetermined unfolding of our personalities in eight stages throughout our lifespan. As we progress through each stage our success, or lack of success, in each stage is partially determined by our achievements in the previous stage. Erikson believed that each person has a unique personality, which gradually reveals itself through eight stages, and if we interfere with the progress of our personality development (try to speed things up) we may ruin the development of that individual s personality. Each stage involves certain developmental tasks that are psychosocial in nature. Erikson coined the term identity crisis, a personal psychosocial conflict that shaped a distinct aspect of personality ( Erikson, Britannica). The various tasks are referred to by two terms, the first is what the individual is striving to achieve and the second is what the individual is at risk of developing if he or she does not successfully achieve the first term. Ultimately employers indicate that unless businesses can become more flexible then in the long term there will be no work available at all (Pye, 2012). Statistical research by Eslake (2011) has established that for the last decade Australia has been experiencing a decline in overall productivity. This supports the main thrust of the lobbyists, who argue that rigid organisational pay and working conditions create an inflexible organisation which is not able to compete in the international environment. They argue that there is a direct correlation between increased organisational flexibility and productivity, and a number of large organisations in Australia have suggested that barriers to productivity include a lack of flexibility, increasing penalty rates, and restrictions on the use of contractors (Todd, 2012:350). They believe that these inhibitors should be addressed in amendments to the FWA in order to secure a productive future for Australia and the workforce in general. Challenges Todd (2012) questions the validity of these sweeping arguments made by employers seeking to challenge the FWA. She draws upon wider research which demonstrates that generalisations linking flexibility and organisational productivity should be treated with caution as the specifics of this within organisations are also correlated to aspects of leadership and organisational culture (Abernathy, 2011). Traumatic memory is inflexible, and invariable, often uncovering traumatic memories is a timely process; intensely emotional and arousing experiences cannot be adapt within the memory system, which can result in dissociation and the construction of traumatic memories (Explorations, 164). Thus, Night and Fog is arguably not a long enough film to witness the Holocaust, in contrast to Shoah and nine and a half hour film, by Claude Lanzmann, who argues his film captivates to obscenity to understanding such trauma. Also, the changeover from black and white to colour alludes to the recovery of memories, in essence, the grim fragmented images suggest flashes of memory, such that a survivor may endure flashbacks of their past. Arguably, Cayrol is used as a mode to captivate the experience of a survivor, and the road to recovery rather than striving to present a perfect representation of the Holocaust, by providing an imperfect narrative, the viewer gains clarity to the complexity of trauma. There are inherent differences between narrative and traumatic memory; for example, narrative memory challenges the mental constructs, which enable humans to make sense of their experiences.
