Tabriz and Carpet
1. (a) Riya Didwania Elizabeth Burge s poem Ispahan Carpet is an extended metaphor which
aims to compare the beauty of the traditional Persian carpet (known as the Ispahan carpet) to the
appalling conditions in which the carpet makers are forced to dwell. The central theme of the
poem is to emphasize on the exploitation of children which is prevalent in various parts of the
world. This leads to the end of all the hope and optimism that ever prevailed in the lives of the
children to have a future; a future which is bright and helps them flee away from all the misery and
desolation of carpetweaving. It intends to create awareness about child labour which remains
unnoticed and ignored through out the world. The poem... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker arouses the reader s emotions of sympathy and consideration by stressing on One
hundred . The fourth stanza implies that the girls have no knowledge beyond carpet weaving
since the speaker terms their eyes as those whose whole horizon is the carpet . Even though the
guide is proud of the exquisite creation by the girls, the tourist begins to question the morality of
the situation. The speaker uses an inquiring tone to ask who can unravel the world s weaving?
Feelings of dissatisfaction as well as curiosity are conveyed as the speaker wonders why terrible
traditions like this are being carried forward to future generations. The speaker expresses the
worthlessness of the rugs which is a beauty, undoubtedly, but is not as essential as the childhood
of the girls which is being exclusively sacrificed to create it. As the tourist places her plump (
swollen ) hand on the bent and fragile ( greenstick ) shoulder of the girl, she feels sympathetic
towards her. The large eyes of the girl signify her loneliness and solitude and bring about a feeling
of compassion in the reader. Speaking darkness has been juxtaposed in this stanza. The speaker
along with an emotion of empathy also has a deep sense of admiration and respect for the girls.

Essay on There is No Escaping the Matrix
There is No Escaping the Matrix
In the video game world anything is possible, and if your player dies you can always play again.
The videogame industry is exploding in the market place; it s far from child s play and far from
the days of pong. In the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly (December 6, 2002) there is an
article, Video Game Nation, discussing a new video game experience being touted as the wave of
the future, The Real Worldmeets The Matrix. In this virtual world called The Sims Online, people
live in a virtual environment peopled by avatars created by thousands of other gamers. Neal
Stephenson envisioned this future ten years prior with his release of Snow Crash. Stephenson

If you look closer at Agent Smiths statement, As soon as we started thinking for you, your world
became our world. a sliver of truth comes out of it. If the thinking is left for someone or
something are we not giving up our world in exchange for theirs? Is it possible that people are
evolving into a machine loving species capable of finding our selves imprisoned by our own
creations? In the movie The Matrix, Agent Smith, the computer generated villain, expresses his
views on The Matrix. He marvels at its beauty, its shear genius. The Matrix, he explains, went
through some changes after some crops {humans} were lost when the humans failed to accept the
perfect world where everyone was happy. Agent Smith goes on to explain that other Artificial
beings believed we lacked the programming language to describe the perfect world. Agent Smith
comes up with his own theory, that humans need pain and suffering in order to define their
reality. So rather than create a perfect world the machines recreate a more real world; a world of
suffering a Buddhist world, one that prevents the human mind from trying to wake up from. This
is the world Neo grows up in, this Matrix world. He grows up in a machine world; his mind is a by
product of the machinery, therefore, making him the perfect candidate to be the chosen

Compages And Disadvantages Of Internet Protocol Version 4...
Nowadays Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) over Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPV4) tunnels are
widely used to form the global Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) Internet. Internet Protocol (IP) is
the common language of the Internet. Every device connected to the Internet must support the IP.
The current version of InternetProtocol Version 4 (IPv4) has several limitations that present a barrier
to the further development of the Internet. Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) is the new generation
IP of the Internet. It is now gaining momentum as an improved network layer protocol. Internet
Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) revolution should remove the barriers and provide a better feature for the
future of global networking. This study conducts a study on Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPV4) and
Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) . This paper demonstrates the two tunnels and show when to
immigrate from Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPV4) to Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6). Then the
risks of immigration are discussed. Internet Protocol (IP) is the common language of the Internet.

The most problem is limited of address space because of IPv4 based on a 32 bit Internet address
(J. Govil, 2007). The solution is for IPv6 to accommodate this increased demand by providing a
much larger address space, along with better traffic routing and improved security. IPv6 is
advancement from IPv4. It was designed to build on the current features of IPv4 with an
addition of enhanced capabilities. IPv6 takes the best of what made IPv4 successful and gets rid
of minor imperfections and unused features. IPv6 has 128 bit address space or 4 times more
address bits compared to IPv4. So, there are more than enough IPv6 addresses to keep the Internet

If anything is known about war, it progressively gets worse throughout history. The weapons
have become far more powerful, the losses are much greater, and worst of all, soldiers visions of
hell have become a reality. War, centuries ago, seemed to young eager young men as an adventure,
a chance for glory, an honorable way to die; however, these opinions shifted as time went on.
Many if not most of the soldiers today go to warto defend their country, their loved ones, and
everything else they hold dear in the hopes that the battles they fight will one day come to an end

Gender Stereotypes In Walt Disney Films
Walt Disney created an entire world of fantasy in which he scattered little boys and little girls
heroes and heroines. His world was built on creativity and dreams. His characters gave every
child an escape from reality. His images inspired their viewers and filled minds with visions of
the impossible. Disney began building his empire in 1923 with his brother Roy and a small
cartoon called Alice s Wonderland ( Disney History ). The company expanded and over the next
nine decades produced nearly six hundred animated films and series. Disney s films have very
distinct features which set them apart from the rest. These movies, more often than not, have
severe gender stereotyping. Men are never seen doing women s work and the women are rarely...

The protagonist, Snow White, plays a minor role in the entire storyline, falling under the shadow
of the evil queen who truly drives the tale with her jealousy. The queen, who is Snow White s
mother, was given a beautiful daughter whose lips were blood red, whose skin was snow white,
and whose eyes were ebony black, but whose beauty would eventually drive her into a jealous
rage. Snow White s actions begin when the queen tasks a huntsman with killing the seven year
old child and returning with proof of her death. Here Snow White s desire for survival becomes
clear. She begs the huntsman to spare her life, promising to run away and never return. The
huntsman allows her to disappear into the forest and the inner strength of Snow White comes to
light. Terrified of being alone, she runs through the woods for the entire day. Before sunset, she
runs across the home of the dwarf s. Knowing that the little men are still out in the mine, she
enters the small, yet neat and tidy, abode. Snow White only eats and drinks a small amount from
each plate setting before falling asleep in one of the small beds. When the dwarfs return from
working in the mines, they notice the minor disturbances in the house and finally discover the
beautiful girl asleep in the last bed. Again, Snow White exhibits quick thinking and desire for
survival. She regales her tale and the dwarfs pity her. If she promises to keep house for [them],
and cook, sew, make beds, wash, and knit, and keep everything clean and orderly, then [she] can
stay here, and [she ll] have everything that [she] want[s] ( Snow White ). Everything Snow White
has done could be considered intelligent, but then she makes three fatal, unwise mistakes all for
lust of beauty. After being warned not to open the door to anyone, she opens the door to the
disguised queen selling beautiful bodice laces. These laces are tied so tight that Snow White can no

The Heart Of Reagan s Foreign Policy
When Ronald Reagan to the oath of office on January 20, 1981, he called upon Americans to begin
an era of national renewal. In response to the serious problems facing the country, both foreign and
domestic, he asserted his familiar campaign phrase: Government is not the solution to our problem,
government is the problem. His dream was to make America the beacon of hope and freedom for
those who do not have freedom. Reagan advanced domestic policies that featured a lessening of
federal government responsibility in solving social problems, reducing restrictions on business, and
implementing tax cuts. Internationally, Reagan demonstrated a fierce opposition to the spread of
communism throughout the world and a strong distrust of the Soviet Union, which in 1983 he
labeled an evil empire. The heart of Reagan s foreign policy was to prevent the expansion of
communism and at the heart of communism was the Soviet Union. Reagan often referred to the
Soviet Union as the evil empire. Reagan believed that the United States should negotiate with the
Soviet Union from a position of strength. The administration embarked on a modernization program
which included the production of intercontinental missiles and the Strategic Defense Initiative. He
increased military spending and forces, while holding negotiations with Mikhail Gorbachevthe
General Secretary of the Soviet Union. After a number of meetings between Reagan and
Gorbachev, the two men signed an Intermediate

Abstract
A virus isolate infecting soybean (Glycine max L.) with characteristic symptoms start as yellowish
patches (chlorosis) along the leaf,s main vein and sometimes between the veins, which turn into
necrotic brown or reddishbrown areas was collected from the Experimental farm of Faculty of
Agriculture, Cairo University ,Giza Governorate during May 2014/2015. To identify the causal
virus, the plants were tested by enzyme linked immunesorbent assay using antibodies against
different Tospovirus i,e. Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), Iris yellow spot virus (IYSV) and
Soybean vein necrosis virus (SVNV). Preliminary results revealed the presence of Soybean vein
necrosis virus (SVNV) in tested soybean plants by double antibody sandwich (DAS ELISA) using
SVNV specific antiserum and by tissue and dot blotting immuneo binding assay. SVNV was able to
infect only 11 plant species from 28 tested by mechanical inoculation. The virus was transmitted by
mechanical means and by phytophagous thrips species; the most efficient vector was

French culture
Culture refers to the union of knowledge, experience, learning, beliefs, attitudes, values, meanings,
hierarchies, religion, notions of time, roles, spatial relations, concepts of the world, and material
objects and possessions acquired by a group of people in the course of generations through

The culture of France is diverse, reflecting regional differences as well as the influence of recent
immigration. France has played an important role for centuries as a cultural center, with Paris as a
world center of high culture.
Philosophy
France has produced a large number of leading philosophers in the European humanist tradition.
One of the first was Montaigne, in the 16th century, an inspired moralist who established the essay

Gregg s Reflective Essay
Last week I received an assignment to go out and try a new cuisine or step out of my comfort
zone . I took up the challenge and on September 7, I went to Gregg s. Gregg s was a family style
restaurant that served American cuisines. As for me this is something different because if I
were to go out and eat it would be a restaurant that was more like a chain restaurants, the
restaurants that you see on commercials. Just to name a few, I would go to Applebee s, Chili s,
or Friday s. The day started off with me waking up and going to Boston for breakfast. Whenever
I drive up to Boston I usually eat dim sum and I get the same thing every time I go. I took it upon

Hamlet What Is the Appeal to the 21 Century Audience
As people in the twenty first century generally don t believe in ghosts and don t consider revenge
a duty, why is a play like Hamlet still of interest to film and theatre audiences?
As William Shakespeare began writing Hamlet in 1598 at the end of the 16th century the play
which would go on to become one of his most famous pieces of work was geared towards an
audience of churls , groundlings and the less educated members of theatre going society, just as
equally as the more educated and affluent audience members. Theatre being a relatively affordable
and popular form of entertainment for the less wealthy individuals, Shakespeare would cater as
much to their tastes as he would to the higher society who would attend his plays. A ... Show more

When you consider that he was following the instructions of his father s ghost it becomes even
more blurred. It was the ghost which created the fire inside Hamlet, the desire for revenge but also
the need for revenge as a duty, to his murdered father. The ghost, however, has been the subject of
much debate amongst critics and readers of Hamlet, with the controversy surrounding whether the
ghost is real as a physical element of the play, or whether it exists simply in the mind of Hamlet.
The play opens with Horatio and various watchmen alarmed that they have seen a ghostly presence,
although we don t know for sure that they have actually seen the purported ghost of the former
King. This could indicate that what they saw wasn t actually a ghost, and further evidence to
suggest this could be found in the scene in which Hamlet sees the ghost but Gertrude cannot see
him (Act III, Scene IV).
Some critics, such as Jan Pick, argue that the appearance of the ghost as an actual element of the
play is simply to encourage the audience to accept Hamlet as a rational human being rather than an
insane character; the inclusion of the ghost as somebody the audience (if not the other characters)
can see lends an air of authenticity to the ghost scenes, authenticity which can only exist to a
modern audience in the assumption that Hamlet actually is insane, and imagining the ghost. Still,
this scenario leads the viewer down a different but

was the one of the reasons that the nation of Islam went form 400 members to 40,000 members
from 1952 to 1960 s and continued to grow well into the 1980s and into the 21st century. This was
due to the fact that he gave very articulate and passionate speeches that would lead to bigger and

Eyes were looking at us from every angle as we walked through the airport. I felt something
brush my neck and I had a sense that someone was following me. We hopped in to the roasting
and dusty car and headed through the capital. By now it was night time. As we drove out into
the country, thousands of stars glistened in the sky, quite different to the view I had at home in
Scotland where they would be often hidden by a cloudy night sky. I made dozens of wishes as I
watched the shooting stars speeding across the heavens far above my head. As we walked
through the back street leading us to Sidi Bousaid, I felt like I was walking up the Rio de
Janeiro favela. However, instead of old shacks and houses on each side, I was passing through
cafes, restaurants and crepe stalls which covered the street and alleys in every direction I
looked. The rich smell of sugary sweets and the burning of fresh cooked fish made my nose and
taste buds start to dance with joy. We were stopped at every street corner, to be haggled by
young boys or older men trying to sell us jasmine posies, which have their own distinctive scent of
Tunisia, which blotted my nostrils with such a mixture of fragrances. We head to a well known

No Secret That The Organ Transplantation
Every year many people of all ages, have to be put on a donor list to get a replacement of a
diagnosed organ that must be replaced to live. It is no secret that the organ transplantation list has a
significant amount of people and every day a handful of them die. A average of twenty one people
die everyday, according to the American Transplant Foundation. Many scientist and medically
certified personals have been trying to come up with alternative genetic modified organs to give to
needed patients, instead of waiting for a donor to come up. A alternate solution they have
experimented with is xenotransplantation, the procedure that takes animalcells, organs, tissues,
etc..., and replaces with what the donor needs, instead of having a humandonor. The procedure has
been experimented on for many years since the first transplantation between humans was
successful. Nevertheless, xenotransplantation should not be considered because of the
physiological beliefs, disease transmission, and of animal cruelty. We should not consider
xenotransplantation because of the physiological beliefs. Since birth, we were taught our wrongs
and rights and we were taught about socially acceptable activities. Animals were always a symbol
of happiness and hope, and many of us treat them as human beings. Hurting animals was always
one of the wrong things to do. Not only do many people go against harming animals but a

Misogyny Pervades The Picture Aeschylus Sophocles ...
Misogyny pervades the picture Aeschylus, Aristophanes, and Sophocles paint of Athenian society.
In their literature, however, female characters catalyze plot by challenging this picture. Such
characters from Sophocles Antigone to Aristophanes Lysistrata face grim consequences for acting
independently. Clytemnestraand Cassandrafrom Aeschylus s Agamemnonexemplify this archetype
of autonomy and destruction. When they confront injustice, male characters perceive them as
vindictive and hysterical. This paper will compare the standards of justice Aeschylus s society
imposes on men and women. I will argue that Clytemnestra and Cassandra are protectors of divine
justice who reject subservience and thereby transcend the sexism of their society.
The women in Agamemnon are as powerful as men but slaves to the divine. Clytemnestra s early
sacrifices parallel her vengeful slaughter of Agamemnon. After Clytemnestra makes sacrifices in
celebration of Greece s victory, the chorus cries, hope glows through your victims (Agamemnon,
658). They reference both hope for Greece s victory and hope for avenging Iphigenia s death.
Sacrifices of thanksgiving make Clytemnestra an ambassador of victory and the sacrifice of
Agamemnon makes her an ambassador of Justice. Agamemnon s slaughter is an act in the name of
heavenly Justice; it is a retributive sacrifice to Fate. Despite its moral significance, the murder of
the war hero invokes a cycle of death within the house of Agamemnon. Like the

Western Ideology of Orientalism in John Luther Long’s play...
Outline
I. Introduction Topic sentence:
II. Madame Butterfly The Western ideology of the Eastern exoticism and docility originates from
the long historical context of imperialism and political tensions between the West and the East.
Domestic struggles caused by political strife and war in the East, such as the Philippines during the
American Spanish War and China during the Opium Wars, created an opportunity for the West to
infiltrate the destabilized Eastern countries. This access allowed the West to exercise a form of
supremacy over Asia, as the East was seen as powerless and incapable of self governance. Thus,
considering themselves as racially and politically superior, the West adopted a White Man s Burden
mentality; it is the duty of the Western men to dominate the East and civilize the uneducated and
old fashioned Orientals. This historical framework would eventually construct the Oriental
stereotype of the Lotus Blossom and the Oriental Butterfly . As portrayed by the delicate and docile
character, Hana Ogi, in the film Sayonara (1957), the Lotus Blossom depicts an Oriental woman
who is quiet, modest, and always submissive to her man. Writer Sui Seen further emphasizes this
stereotypical figure in her description of Chinese merchant wives: She has a true affection for her
husband [...] She loves him because she has been given to him to be his wife. No question of
woman s rights perplexes her. She takes no responsibility upon herself and wishes

Majority of these cheaters play money making schemes on those who have worked hard and

Nicola Sacco Essay
In this world, anything can happen. We can drive, text, and be framed for murder. Yeah, being
framed for murder. That s what happened to Nicola Sacco. We should start at the beginning.
Nicola Sacco was born in the Italian town of Torremaggiore on 22nd April, 1891. He emigrated to
the United States when he was seventeen. Sacco found work in a shoe factory in Stoughton,
Massachusetts. He got married and started a family. Sacco also became involved in left wing
politics and at one anarchist gathering met Bartolomeo Vanzetti, an Italian immigrant working as a
fish peddler in Plymouth. Like many left wing radicals, Sacco and Vanzetti were opposed to the
First World War. They took part in protest meetings and in 1917, when the United States... Show

the robbery. The Morelli brothers were well known criminals who had carried out similar
robberies in area of Massachusetts. However, the authorities refused to investigate the confession
made by Madeiros. Many leading writers and artists became involved in a campaign to obtain a
retrial. Although, Webster Thayer, the original judge, was officially criticised for his conduct at the
trial, the authorities refused to overrule the decision to execute the men. By the summer of 1927 it
became clear that Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti would be executed. On 23rd August 1927, the
day of execution, over 250,000 people took part in a silent demonstration in Boston. Soon after the
executions, Eugene Lyons published his book, The Life and Death of Sacco and Vanzetti. Fifty
years later, on 23rd August, 1977, Michael Dukakis, the Governor of Massachusetts, issued a
proclamation, effectively absolving the two men of the crime.
From beginning to end, Nicola Sacco had been blamed for murder. This is the world we live in. A

Educational Leadership Styles Paper
The capacity and implementation of various educational leadership styles has been critical to the
organizational and instructional makeup of educational institutions since their inception. Various
types of leadership have developed over the past 60 years and unique trends have emerged in the
pursuit of creating and implementing changes in process and philosophy; specifically, improving
teacher collaboration. Leadershipstyles frequently identified as charismatic, transactional,
transformational, shared/distributed, and self/laissez faire have emerged at the forefront of
educational leadership theory. The role of the administrator (principal) in secondary schools and

Lisa Sherman Case Analysis Essay
Lisa Sherman Case Analysis:
October 2010
Summary:
Lisa Sherman worked for Verizon for many years. While there she never revealed her sexual
orientation .Then one fated day, there was a diversification workshop with her fellow managers.
The outcome of this was that her coworkers were bigoted towards homosexuality. Lisa Sherman had
a tough decision to make, whether to stay or to leave. The following analysis shows a suggested
solution.
Lisa Sherman Case Analysis:
Lisa Sherman spent many years not being true to who she was. She never told her coworkers that
she was gay during her 15 years at Verizon Communications. Then, the company decided they
wanted to hold diversity training. This is what led Lisa Sherman to the tough ... Show more content

She felt that if she were to tell anyone it would affect her career, which allegedly proved to be a
correct assumption, from the comments that her co workers made. One of the most homophobic
individuals turned out to be one of Lisa s mentors. In essence, the people Lisa had been closest to
turned out to be bigoted individuals.
When deciding what to do, Lisa needs to be sure it is in the best interest of her needs. Since she
has been with the same company for 15 years, and quickly worked her way up, she probably has a
myriad of opportunities waiting for her. She can inform the CEO Ray Smith of her sexual
orientation, as he wants the company to become more progressive and would (allegedly) not be
bothered by her sexuality. However, the rest of her coworkers still feel that Gay people are
immoral, disgusting people. Even if the CEO did not mind her sexuality, her coworkers would still
see her in a different light.
I feel the best decision that Lisa can make is to look for different work, with a more open,
progressive company, then resign from Verizon. This decision would allow her time to get her
finances in order. However, if she had a large savings, then the best decision would be to resign
immediately, because being around such bigoted individuals would cause her undue stress, and her
performance may be affected.
If Lisa Sherman chooses to resign, since the CEO Ray

How Is King Arthur An Imperial Hero
There are many names attributed of one the legendary kings of Britannia. Most people know him as
Arthur Pendragon without knowing that he originally carried a different name, Lucius Artorius
Castus. This is the name that inspired the tales of Geoffrey of Monmouth centuries ago.
The recollections and inspiration of The Fall of King Arthur by J.R.R Tolkien can be compared to
the film King Arthur (2004), which presents a romantic side of the king we know now as Arthur .
Other important facts mentioned throughout this short investigative comparison were based on the
article by Jeffrey E. Jackson titled The Once and Future Sword: Excalibur and the Poetics of

The poem narrates the adventures of Arthur and Gawain throughout a war campaign against the
Saxons. The campaign is eventually cut short due to the betrayal of Mordred, who tries to usurp
Arthur s kingdom. The movie portrays a far more romantic rise of the king, which should be
compared to the traditional legend.
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (1892 1973) was an English scholar, specializing in Old and Middle
English. He wrote a number of stories, including most famously The Hobbit (1937). Amongst his
literary works lies The Fall of King Arthur, a tale he never was able to finish.
The film King Arthur portrays Artorius Castus, a Roman cavalry officer, the son of a Roman
father and a Celtic mother, who commands a unit of Sarmatian auxiliary cavalry in Britain. The
story begins when Arthur loses his mother to a Celtic attack on his village and going to his father
s grave to get his sword called Excalibur. In this portrayal, Merlin is the leader of the Celt clan that
rebels against to Roman rule. The Once and Future Sword: Excalibur and the Poetics of Imperial

Lack Of Explicit Team Norms

applies to the performance of virtual teams. Team Johnny Bravo started out with good intentions,
but struggled to find balance working within a Leaderless, Modular design structure. A lack of
explicit team norms will impact communication and production efforts. This paper will discuss four
operating norms, concerns with a lack of norms, actions to overcome those concerns and norm
recommendations for Team Johnny Bravo.
Norms
You have to learn the rules of the game. And then you have to play better than anyone else.
Unknown
According to Mocha (2007), working anywhere and everywhere is a concept of globalization.
Although work is pushing around the world, remote team members need to exhibit a common and
acceptable set of behaviors referred to as norms.
In his research Settle Murphy (2012), found that established norms within successful virtual teams,
dictated how the group functioned. It is important to note, norms and rules are not one in the same,
but they work together to form a team s identity. an important function of a successful team. Often,
the earlier these norms can be established, the better. While rules play a part in establishing norms,
norms can also be unspoken where rules are not. Team Johnny Bravo established communication
and task norms. Below are four of those norms that operate within the team:

Special Education Assignment
Working with students with special needs, as teachers, we need to protect our students right.
Special education teachers are required to keep high standards and meet best practices. According
to the Preliminary Credential Competency Checklist Historical and Legal Foundation 1.4 (2014),
two of the best practices that are enforced in the special educationfield is to individualize education
and evidence based practice (p.1). Being a teacher in a special education classroom, there is a
diverse level of learners and each student has an individual methods of learning. The role of the
teacher is to verify each students learning is being meet. Individualizing a lesson by making
accommodiations or modification for them to learn the curriculum. Implementing evidence based
practice is using an educational method of learning that will support the students learning based on
previous research that has been completed. Using evidence based practice in a special education
classroom is a key component when a student or students need an intervention to support them in
the academic area they are struggling. Special education teachers are responsible of meeting best

Modern World Of The New World
Introduction
In 2015, there is no need to talk about our world getting defined by technology. Everything we
know and everything we deal with has been converted into digital sense and to digital state.
Moreover, the majority of objects surrounding us have received a description of smart , which no
longer confuses our understanding. The world has become more demanding to technology and
more sophisticated to its choices. The way to satisfy a contemporary customer is to design a
device that would maintain as many functions as possible in as small gadget as it gets. Therefore,
modern world of the new decade is called mobile world.
Even though mobile phones have been in operation for three decades now, a fierce competition
between mobile platforms has been going on since the spread of smart phones, which started in
2010. This struggle basically divided the world into supporters of iOS and Android giants, with
others going for three more giants like Blackberry OS, Windows Phone 7, and Symbian. In fact,
mobile platforms deal not exceptionally with smart phones, but also operate software on other
portable devices like tablets or laptops. A must have in a fast paced world, mobile platforms have
integrated into every sphere of life. Therefore, they are an extremely relevant and important issue to
study in a research paper.
Our research is going to deal with the study of the role that mobile platforms play in a modern
society, as means and tools of information delivery. In our

Analysis of Millard MeissВґ Painting in Florence and Siena...
This book my Millard Meiss is addressing an area of study that is lacking. This text while
informative is difficult to follow and the puts a lot of pressure on the reader to connect the dots.
The content of the early renaissance can often be a difficult time in art history to nail down and
discuss just because it is on the cusp of the late medieval and the renaissance itself. As any time of
transition it can be difficult to understand what is happening in the world of art but may have been
more convincing if he had placed this Tuscan period within the context of Europe as a whole at the
time .This text by Millard Meiss helps the audience contextualize what was was happening in Italy
after the black deathand in doing so we understand the art world that much better. That being said
the way in which Miess goes about making the argument that the art of this time is regressive, is
problematic. In response to the question posed by this assignment how effective in my view is
Millard Meiss s argumentation? I am coming from the stand point that his argument is not effective.
His argument is problematic because it is unclear, difficult to follow, lacks cohesion, and puts too
much work on the reader. These elemental issues with his writing and argumentation are what in
my view render the argument Millard Meiss is trying to make ineffective throughout his text
Painting in Florence and Siena after the Black Death . Furthermore, one of the major issues with the
argument that Meiss is

Rhetorical Analysis Of Common Sense
In the year of 1776, emotions intensify in Colonial America creating an atmosphere prime for
dissidence and a yearning for independence. The livid Americans, overtaxed and mistreated by the
British after the French and Indian War, debate and argue amongst themselves about the fate of
their fledgling colony. The American colonies interested in seeking independence from their
motherland Britain, look abroad in hopes of finding moral and political reasons to justify
revolution. In the pamphlet, Common Sense, Frenchman Thomas Paineconveys such reasons using
rhetorical elements such as figurative language, rhetorical questions, and assertions in order to
enhance the morale of the colonists and support the Americans in their revolution against Britain.
Proving that the liberties of the common people are something worth fighting for, Paine uses
relatable figurative language in order to provide a more personal connection to the colonists in
hopes of encouraging the proverbial David to stand up and wage war against Goliath. Paine pens an
analogy stating that if a child has thrived upon milk then the child will never want meat . This
analogy elicits a critical turning point in Paine s pamphlet as he transitions from asking rhetorical
questions to authoritative and comparative statements. Paine alludes to the overwhelming axiom
that the colonies have been a baby drinking milk only satisfied by meeting the needs of Britain,
instead of standing up for their individual rights and

Mikhael Gorbachev Dbq Analysis
What came with the selection of Mikhael Gorbachev as the new Soviet Leader for the USSR
was the start of the turning point in the Cold War. This was as well met by the likes of Ronald
Reagan, who at first carried an anti communist rhetoric, progressively displaced his initial feeling
for the Soviet Union and begun to change his perceptions of his foes to the east. A compromising
negotiation was the overall goal of Gorbachev, which would hope to lead to reduce the risk of
nuclear war. Very different from his predecessors, Gorbachev resiliently worked with Reagan in
order to successfully come to peaceful relations. Although Ronald Regan had a role in the changing
dynamics of the cold warthat had taken place, more of the accolades must go to Mikhail Gorbachev

Land Destruction By Tourist Attractions
Land Destruction by Tourist Attraction Beaches are used as a tourist attraction. Coral reefs are
an example of marine life endangered by this idea. Though coral reefs are beautiful to view,
boats on top of the coral can destroy and hit the reefs. This is a big problem because coral reefs
are home to millions of marine life. According to the book, Destroying the Oceans, coral reefs
are home to one quarter of Earth s marine animals and plants . With that, many habits are also
destroyed. Sea turtles are not only affected by pollution, but they are also affected by tourist
attraction. On September 5 in Costa Rica, a group of tourists prevented sea turtles from nesting
along the coastline. The sea turtles are protected by the Ostional Wildlife Refuge. Due to the high
volume of tourists of that day, the refuge was unable to prevent the disaster from happening.
Some tourists touched the turtles, others stood on top of the nests, and parents placed their
children on top of the turtles to take photographs (L. Arias). Human beings need to learn how to
respect animals. Global Warming Due to our mass pollution to the atmosphere, humans are the
main cause of global warming. Since the beginning of the 1900s, the average surface temperature
of Earth has risen by 1.3 degrees Fahrenheit (Levete). Global warming leads to temperature
change. Iceberg and glaciers are melting at a rapid rate. This will cause sea level to rise. The

The 1920s included the Jazz Age and Harlem Renaissance. During this time period African
Americans escaped racial oppression in the South by migrating to the North, this was later called
the Great Migration. African Americans sought improved life in the North, more social equality,
and they wanted better and more opportunity for employment. African Americans formally
experienced the Jim Crow laws and brutal racism in the south, such as the Ku Klux Klan that
frequently killed African Americans in order to maintain a social organization and end Radical
Reconstruction. This migration aided the creation of the New Negro Movement. This movement

The Effect Of The Nicene Creed On The Christian Community

Professor Chris King
History of Christianity
24 September 2014
Reading Response Two The Nicene Creed says that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, begotten
of the Father before all worlds...begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father... This
idea presented conflict within the Christian community, between followers and also leaders of the
church. The idea presented in the Nicene Creed stemmed from the teachings of Greek philosophers.
They taught there was a supreme God containing all power and perfection, meaning He would
never change. This God was not affected by things that are physical and that change. This idea at
first largely helped Christians in showing others that even Greek philosophers had faith in an
invisible God. Then this idea slowly started changing the way Christians thought. Looking further
into the fact that God was in fact perfect suggested he would not have anything to do with imperfect
human beings. Although God himself may not have anything to do with flawed humans, the
Christians thought perhaps He would create intermediary angels that created and interacted with
the physical world. One of these intermediary angels was thought to be Jesus Christ. ... Show more

Stem cell research and cures Stems cells are cells that have the ability to differentiate into specific
ones. They divide through mitosis and can only be found in organisms that are multicellular.
Mammals have two types off stem cells: embryonic stem cells which are obtained from the
internal cell mass of blastocysts and adult stem cells which are located in different tissues. In adult
organisms, progenitor cells and stem cells function as the repair system of the body which
regenerates into fully grown tissues. Due to the ability of stems cells to regenerate and replenish
other cells, they can be used in stem cell research and cure (Lim, 2006). There are three sources
of adult cells in humans: bone marrow whereby extraction is done by drilling into the bone
mainly the femur followed by harvesting of the bone marrow, adipose tissue where extraction is
done by a process called liposuction. Lastly is blood can also provide stem cells and the
extraction is done through apheresis where blood is drawn from a donor and passed through a
machine which extracts only the stem cells and returns other blood components to the donor
(Marzilli, 2007). Stem cells can cure diseases because they possess two important features which
the other cells of the body lack. In some cases regeneration happens after a long time when they are
inactive state. When such cells are exposed to some certain experimental conditions, they can be

PUBLIC GOODS
Public good is an item whose consumption is determined by society not by individual
consumers. Examples include national defense, law enforcement, parks. These goods are
financed by taxes because they are created for the welfare of public. Basically the goods which
can be consumed without reducing its availability to other individual and the other one is not
excluded are public goods. The vice versa of these goods are private goods. A private good is a
product that must be purchased to be consumed and its consumption is done by one individual. For
instance, candies: the person who would be purchasing them , would be having not the person did
not purchased.
A public good is an item consumed by society as a whole, for instance defense. This would be for
every citizen for the country, even the person who did not pay the tax. This gives us the one
characteristic of public good that is NON EXCLUDABLE. These goods are being produced for the
welfare of the whole society rather than focusing on one individual. While ... Show more content on

But the brewery would be willing to pay the chemical factory to reduce the amount of effluent,
because this will reduce the costs of brewery industry. Such a reduction in effluent may reduce the
chemical industry s profits, as the firm s output of chemicals and the effluents are in fixed
proportions and any reduction of effluent, thus, requires a reduction in output of the chemical
industry. If the reduction in the brewery industry s costs exceeds the reduction in the chemical
factory s profit, there are potential gains from trade and the original level of effluent cannot have

A Primer For The Punctuation Of Heart Disease
I have chosen A Primer for the Punctuation of Heart Disease By Jonathan Safran Foer. This short
story in which the author proposes a new way of punctuating dialog to tell the story in unspoken
aspects and meanings, and put them into conversations, within a family, whom has had forty two
heart attacks. The silence mark stands for the absence of language. The willed silence mark
demonstrates silence. The insistent question mark explains one family member s refusal to yield
to a willed silence. The upside down exclamation point is the opposite of an exclamation point.
Placed at the end of a sentence, the pedal point signifies a through that dissolves into a suggestive
silence. snowflake is used at the end of a familial phrase I m

Beauty And Similes In Annie Dillard s Journey In Tinker Creek
When needing to retreat, Annie Dillard goes to Tinker Creek and immerses herself in nature.
During one of these trips, she has a snippet of a revelation, which makes her see beauty and
ugliness in harmony and see the world as meaningful; even though there is sorrow. In this
passage, Dillard uses the symbolism of a maple key and similes to explain its descend as
something beautiful, seeing the positive in the negative. When she is at Tinker Creek, she uses
words like lost, sunk which shows the lack of understanding as she looks towards Tinker
Mountain. All of a sudden, she sees what looks like a Martian spaceship . She uses a simile to
describe what she sees as otherworldly or magical because a Martian spaceship is not from this
world. She describes that it flashed borrowed light like a propeller . As the object is coming
down, it brings with it light or a revelation. She goes on to portray it as pirouetting and twirling ,
words which are often associated with ballet and are viewed by most people as beautiful. Her
experience with this beautiful, otherworldly object is a door that allows her to see this as part of
the beauty in the world.
When the object falls, she finds it in the grass and she later identifies it as a simple maple key.
Dillard identifies the key after describing her experience because she was unsure of what it was as
it was falling but knew after had fallen. The maple key, which usually is in pairs falls single. She
greets the maple with a simple

Functions Of The IAEAProgrammes And Services
Programmes and Services Since its inception in 1953 the IAEA has pursued programmes or has
provided services to support the international community, in keeping with the UN Charter the

Another key programme is the IAEA Water Availability Enhancement Project (IWAVE), which
is a project aimed at assessing the long term improvement to access fresh water supplies for
member nations using comprehensive scientific analysis of national water resources.
(IAEA****, 2017) The key programmes mentioned above are from a short list of cooperative
programmes that involved and impact numerous member states. The IAEA has also organized
and is involved in over 807 regional and interregional projects around the globe some of which
are under cooperative agreements with member states leading in nuclear technologies. These
programmes and projects are provided through a specialized organization mechanism called the
Department of Technical Cooperation (TC) which is under the IAEA Secretariat to provide the
services and technical expertise to the receiving member states. The services and support provide
cooperative expertise in nuclear technology to develop or expand stakeholder priorities or
infrastructure using nuclear energy or techniques. These programmes are available to any member
state, but is typically utilized by developing nations. The programme of the TC is managed within
four regions: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean, to help

the presidents that we think are the best are Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, John F.
Kennedy, Teddy Roosevelt, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B
Johnson, Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Jefferson, Ronald Reagan. While some of the presidents I

He also tried to lift the U.S. out of the Great Depression, but to no avail. He adopted the Good
neighbor policy which helped better the relations with Latin America. Dwight D. Eisenhower was a
supreme allied commander in WW2. He worked to bring peace to the world, after WW2, and
helped increase the social welfare programs. He also helped to end the Korean War and sent troops
to Little Big rock so African American kids could attend school. Lyndon B. Johnsonbecame
president after Kennedy was killed, and escalated the war in Vietnam. He created a war on
poverty and, because of his unpopularity, did not seek a second term. Woodrow Wilson tried to
keep America out of WW1 but later declared war on Germany. He was a college professor,
college president and the governor of New Jersey. He founded the League of Nations, a early
version of the United Nations, and was determined invalid to serve the rest of his term due to a
stroke in 1919. Thomas Jefferson was one of the founding fathers and a author to the draft of the

Institutional Racism In Schools
School may seem like a safe and comforting place for children of all ethnicities, but this is not the
case. America s education system has been plagued with discrimination and prejudice in the form of
a phenomenon called institutional racism. Institutional racism is a pattern of social institutions
such as governmental organizations, schools, banks, and courts of law giving negative treatment to
a group of people based on race ( Institutional RacismLesson ). This issue is important because it
normalizes racism and introduces children of color to discrimination at a very young age. If we put
an end to racism in schools, it could be a big leap forward in ending it all together. Institutional
racism has a lasting impact on the lives of minority students by lowering their academic
performance, limiting future opportunities, and affecting mental and physical health. ( Institutional
Racism in School System. )
Some argue that institutional racism does not exist today, or never existed at all. These people say
that students of color have trouble in school because they do not care and do not try hard enough,
not because of institutional racism (Pearlstein). They claim that people of color are being dramatic
and looking for something to blame for their problems. Then there are those who admit to the
existence of institutional racism but do not think it matters. Those individuals argue that claiming
racism exists in schools is useless and will not do anything to stop

Sexual Orientation Controversy
The word gay is a difficult word to define in our society and with so much controversy people
must be careful on their ideas surrounding the subject. However out of the four categories
discussed to depict sexual orientation is would have to be the fourth and final one which is
claimed sexual orientation. For the first chose it was anything ever which is not correct because a
majority of the times adolescents are confused or bored. They might want to experience something
new so they give it a try. However they might decide that they do not like the same sex and from
there on out be hetersexual. Therefore it is not correct to label them gayjust because they ve done
something gay due to the fact they felt they needed to do that action in order

What Is An American Political Cartoon
American political cartoons often follow the general discontent of the government by American
people. They run the scale from economics to foreign policy to the overwhelming popular topic of
organization. Benjamin Franklin is arguably one of the most fascinating figures in American
history. He was an author, printer, satirist, political theorist, politician etc and he was one of the
United Statesmost famous Founding Fathers. Franklin owned and ran the Pennsylvania Gazette, a
Philadelphia based newspaper that featured the Join, or Die cartoon on May 9, 1754. The image in
Join or Die is a snake that was cut into eight distinct slices. Although the fact, there were only eight

(a) Riya Didwania Elizabeth Burge s poem Ispahan Carpet is an extended metaphor which aims to compare the beauty of the traditional Persian carpet (known as the Ispahan carpet) to the appalling conditions in which the carpet makers are forced to dwell. The central theme of the poem is to emphasize on the exploitation of children which is prevalent in various parts of the world. This leads to the end of all the hope and optimism that ever prevailed in the lives of the children to have a future; a future which is bright and helps them flee away from all the misery and desolation of carpetweaving. It intends to create awareness about child labour which remains unnoticed and ignored through out the world. The poem... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fourth stanza implies that the girls have no knowledge beyond carpet weaving since the speaker terms their eyes as those whose whole horizon is the carpet . Even though the guide is proud of the exquisite creation by the girls, the tourist begins to question the morality of the situation. The speaker uses an inquiring tone to ask who can unravel the world s weaving? Feelings of dissatisfaction as well as curiosity are conveyed as the speaker wonders why terrible traditions like this are being carried forward to future generations. The speaker expresses the worthlessness of the rugs which is a beauty, undoubtedly, but is not as essential as the childhood of the girls which is being exclusively sacrificed to create it. As the tourist places her plump ( swollen ) hand on the bent and fragile ( greenstick ) shoulder of the girl, she feels sympathetic towards her. The large eyes of the girl signify her loneliness and solitude and bring about a feeling of compassion in the reader. Speaking darkness has been juxtaposed in this stanza. The speaker along with an emotion of empathy also has a deep sense of admiration and respect for the girls. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hamlet What Is the Appeal to the 21 Century Audience As people in the twenty first century generally don t believe in ghosts and don t consider revenge a duty, why is a play like Hamlet still of interest to film and theatre audiences? As William Shakespeare began writing Hamlet in 1598 at the end of the 16th century the play which would go on to become one of his most famous pieces of work was geared towards an audience of churls , groundlings and the less educated members of theatre going society, just as equally as the more educated and affluent audience members. It was the ghost which created the fire inside Hamlet, the desire for revenge but also the need for revenge as a duty, to his murdered father. The ghost, however, has been the subject of much debate amongst critics and readers of Hamlet, with the controversy surrounding whether the ghost is real as a physical element of the play, or whether it exists simply in the mind of Hamlet. The play opens with Horatio and various watchmen alarmed that they have seen a ghostly presence, although we don t know for sure that they have actually seen the purported ghost of the former King. This could indicate that what they saw wasn t actually a ghost, and further evidence to suggest this could be found in the scene in which Hamlet sees the ghost but Gertrude cannot see him (Act III, Scene IV). Some critics, such as Jan Pick, argue that the appearance of the ghost as an actual element of the play is simply to encourage the audience to accept Hamlet as a rational human being rather than an insane character; the inclusion of the ghost as somebody the audience (if not the other characters) can see lends an air of authenticity to the ghost scenes, authenticity which can only exist to a modern audience in the assumption that Hamlet actually is insane, and imagining the ghost. Clytemnestraand Cassandrafrom Aeschylus s Agamemnonexemplify this archetype of autonomy and destruction. When they confront injustice, male characters perceive them as vindictive and hysterical. This paper will compare the standards of justice Aeschylus s society imposes on men and women. I will argue that Clytemnestra and Cassandra are protectors of divine justice who reject subservience and thereby transcend the sexism of their society. The women in Agamemnon are as powerful as men but slaves to the divine. Clytemnestra s early sacrifices parallel her vengeful slaughter of Agamemnon. After Clytemnestra makes sacrifices in celebration of Greece s victory, the chorus cries, hope glows through your victims (Agamemnon, 658). They reference both hope for Greece s victory and hope for avenging Iphigenia s death. Sacrifices of thanksgiving make Clytemnestra an ambassador of victory and the sacrifice of Agamemnon makes her an ambassador of Justice. • 17. Western Ideology of Orientalism in John Luther Long’s play... Outline I. Introduction Topic sentence: II. Madame Butterfly The Western ideology of the Eastern exoticism and docility originates from the long historical context of imperialism and political tensions between the West and the East. Domestic struggles caused by political strife and war in the East, such as the Philippines during the American Spanish War and China during the Opium Wars, created an opportunity for the West to infiltrate the destabilized Eastern countries. This access allowed the West to exercise a form of supremacy over Asia, as the East was seen as powerless and incapable of self governance. Thus, considering themselves as racially and politically superior, the West adopted a White Man s Burden mentality; it is the duty of the Western men to dominate the East and civilize the uneducated and old fashioned Orientals. This historical framework would eventually construct the Oriental stereotype of the Lotus Blossom and the Oriental Butterfly . As portrayed by the delicate and docile character, Hana Ogi, in the film Sayonara (1957), the Lotus Blossom depicts an Oriental woman who is quiet, modest, and always submissive to her man. Writer Sui Seen further emphasizes this stereotypical figure in her description of Chinese merchant wives: She has a true affection for her husband [...] She loves him because she has been given to him to be his wife. This decision would allow her time to get her finances in order. This text while informative is difficult to follow and the puts a lot of pressure on the reader to connect the dots. The content of the early renaissance can often be a difficult time in art history to nail down and discuss just because it is on the cusp of the late medieval and the renaissance itself. As any time of transition it can be difficult to understand what is happening in the world of art but may have been more convincing if he had placed this Tuscan period within the context of Europe as a whole at the time .This text by Millard Meiss helps the audience contextualize what was was happening in Italy after the black deathand in doing so we understand the art world that much better. That being said the way in which Miess goes about making the argument that the art of this time is regressive, is problematic. In response to the question posed by this assignment how effective in my view is Millard Meiss s argumentation? I am coming from the stand point that his argument is not effective. His argument is problematic because it is unclear, difficult to follow, lacks cohesion, and puts too much work on the reader. The livid Americans, overtaxed and mistreated by the British after the French and Indian War, debate and argue amongst themselves about the fate of their fledgling colony. The American colonies interested in seeking independence from their motherland Britain, look abroad in hopes of finding moral and political reasons to justify revolution. In the pamphlet, Common Sense, Frenchman Thomas Paineconveys such reasons using rhetorical elements such as figurative language, rhetorical questions, and assertions in order to enhance the morale of the colonists and support the Americans in their revolution against Britain. Proving that the liberties of the common people are something worth fighting for, Paine uses relatable figurative language in order to provide a more personal connection to the colonists in hopes of encouraging the proverbial David to stand up and wage war against Goliath. Paine pens an analogy stating that if a child has thrived upon milk then the child will never want meat . This analogy elicits a critical turning point in Paine s pamphlet as he transitions from asking rhetorical questions to authoritative and comparative statements. This idea presented conflict within the Christian community, between followers and also leaders of the church. The idea presented in the Nicene Creed stemmed from the teachings of Greek philosophers. They taught there was a supreme God containing all power and perfection, meaning He would never change. This God was not affected by things that are physical and that change. This idea at first largely helped Christians in showing others that even Greek philosophers had faith in an invisible God. Then this idea slowly started changing the way Christians thought. Looking further into the fact that God was in fact perfect suggested he would not have anything to do with imperfect human beings. They divide through mitosis and can only be found in organisms that are multicellular. Mammals have two types off stem cells: embryonic stem cells which are obtained from the internal cell mass of blastocysts and adult stem cells which are located in different tissues. In adult organisms, progenitor cells and stem cells function as the repair system of the body which regenerates into fully grown tissues. Due to the ability of stems cells to regenerate and replenish other cells, they can be used in stem cell research and cure (Lim, 2006). There are three sources of adult cells in humans: bone marrow whereby extraction is done by drilling into the bone mainly the femur followed by harvesting of the bone marrow, adipose tissue where extraction is done by a process called liposuction.
