Morgan Freeman Religion
The Story of God with Morgan Freeman is a television documentary about the exploration of culture
and religion. This film features Morgan Freeman who goes on a journey to try to find answers to
questions about religious topics, especially on God. The producer Morgan Freeman is an American
Actor and was born in 1937 in Tennessee but borrows his origin from Niger. He has won the Academy
award and has featured as an Oscar nominee in 1987. He has performed in other films such as Street
Smart (1987) and Driving Miss Daisy (1989). This film is only one episode of many series produced
by Morgan Freeman other episodes include Beyond Death and Apocalypse both in season one.
Who is God? This is a question that is frequently asked yet different people give a different answer
depending on their religious alignments. The understanding of God has proven to be beyond the

The Christian worldview is presented as simply one choice among many. Generally speaking, every
religion is treated reasonably fairly, and every religion gets misrepresented to a certain extent. In the
film Morgan Freeman and, the producers of the film admire, and respect the worldview of the eastern
religions for instance Buddhism and Hinduism. It is evident in how much time is given to the various
religious perspectives, can definitely be discerned in the concluding summaries, and is even
sometimes apparent in Freeman s tone of voice. Even though this film was presented in class, and I do
not know much about Hinduism or Buddhism, the film shows those two religions as monolithic, with
most followers of those religions as sharing the same beliefs. This though is false. Hinduism has many
aspects to it like a mixture of pantheistic, polytheistic, and even monotheistic qualities. There are
many elements that form a Buddhist religion, and not only one concept of following it. (Yoshida

Kingdom Of God Study Guide
Joseph Ratzinger, also known as Pope Benedict XVI, wrote a book, Jesus of Nazareth: From Baptism
In The Jordan To The Transfiguration. In the book, there is a chapter entitled, The Gospel Of The
Kingdom Of God. In the Bible, Jesus often spoke about the Kingdom of God. There are four questions
I will attempt to answer. 1. What is the Kingdom of God? 2. How does the Kingdom of God appear in
the Old Testament? 3. How do Jesus words and deeds relate to the Kingdom of God? and 4. How does
the concept Kingdom of God connect to the Old and New Testament? In the Bible in the gospel of
Mark 1:14 15 it says, After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the gospel of
God: This is the time of fulfillment. The kingdom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Others say the kingdom of God is coming at the end of time when Christ comes back to establish His
kingdom on earth. Yet, Jesus said that the kingdom had come when he preached. God lives outside of
time. God is. In the Old Testament, God said, I Am . Jesus is sovereign and reigns in the past, present,
and future. I believe that all three views of the kingdom of God are valid, though it is all because of
the first view of Christ Himself. Christ was, is, and is to be. Christ was among us, He lives within us
and we consume Him internally when partaking of the Eucharist, and He lives in the Church in the
Real Presence of the Eucharist. The kingdom of God is without borders and is a spiritual kingdom. It

Analysis Of The Borden War Measures Act
The Borden War Measures Act The War Measures Act was introduced in 1914 as a way to give
unlimited authority to the government as a way to protect the populace during the First World War.
However the idea of protecting the populace did not come to be. Both civilians and the federal
government in some way acted against the civil rights of others using the War Measures Act. It
enabled war profiteering and the unfair treatment of those classified as Enemy Aliens . Abuse of the
War Measures Act by the Canadian government showed that the act itself was unnecessary
The War Measures Act goals were to give the Canadian government complete control over the
country. Primarily by bypassing elements of democracy that could harm the war effort. Such ... Show

The reason why such a poorly made weapon was made standard issue in the Canadian military was
because of Sam Hughes the Minister of Militia and Defence who drew serious criticism when he
defended it against growing evidence of its deficiencies in combat (8). But the War Measures Act was
also to blame since it enabled the government to control ...trading, exportation, importation,
production and manufacture; (9). Had the War Measures Act not been in place better quality products
for soldiers could have been produced. But it would also be ignorant to not acknowledge that industry
in Canada had grown because of the war. The war called for vast quantities of shells for artillery and
Canadian factories produced a large majority of shells. However at the start of production, Sam
Hughes, initially established a Shell Committee to coordinate production, but its failure to deliver on
contracts led to angry recriminations between Canada and Britain and widespread rumours of
corruption. (10). It was not until a new production company, the Imperial Munitions Board, was
established under toronto businessman Joseph Flavelle did production start to pick up. Since the board
was organized according to sound business practices and hired professional managers to oversee its
operations (11). This displays that under civilian control, production in factories would run smoother
than compared to the format of the government. While under control of the government,

Discussion Questions Week 2 1.) What is meant by the term double entry accounting? Examples are
great and try to build on what each other has said.
Double entry accounting is based on the fact that every financial transaction has equal and opposite
effects in at least two different accounts. In the double entry system, transactions are recorded in terms
of debits and credits. Since a debit in one account will be offset by a credit in another account, the sum
of all debits must therefore be exactly equal to the sum of all credits. The double entry system of
bookkeeping or accounting makes it easier to accurately prepare financial statements directly from the
books of account and detect errors.
For example: A company borrows a loan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Adjusting entries are usually made on the last day of an accounting period so that the financial
statements reflect the revenues that have been earned and the expenses that were incurred during the
accounting period. The purpose of each adjusting entry is to get both the income statement and the
balance sheet to be correct. An example of adjusting entry: a customer paid a company in advance of
receiving goods or service, the amount is reported as a liability. After the goods or services are
delivered, an adjusting entry is needed to reduce the liability and to report the revenues. 5.) Cash basis
vs Accrual basis
The difference between accrual and cash basis accounting is the timing of when revenue and expenses
are recognized. The cash method is most used by small businesses and for personal finances. The cash
method for revenue is only used when the money is received and expenses are only used when the
money is paid out. The accrual method is used for revenue when it is earned and

The General Context Of The Educational Technology Research
In this introductory chapter, I present a brief background discussion on the general context of my
research within the educational technology research, specifically within AIED research and doc toral

propose to explore. I then provide a delineation of my solution methodology for pursuing this
proposed research: use of simulation. Finally, I conclude the chapter with an outline of my proposed
research thesis goals and objectives and the organization of this thesis proposal. 1.1 Introduction Most

Focus on a learner first approach [13] is AIED third attribute. As a result, personalization of learning
environments has been one of AIED s most important research trends. Studies attest that
personalization improves attainment of learning goals by learners. The key is the one to one
relationship between learners and the source of their support; and more specifically how the support
styles are in accordance with learners learning styles and preferred support styles [17], [18]. One of
the earliest threads of research that is central to the success of personalization is modeling of all key
elements in a learning environment [6], [15], [16]. Personalization requires attentive modeling of
learning agents (learner, mentors), resources (learning objects), and the learning en vironment. Santos
et al. [6] provide a more detailed outline of the various dimensions affecting support for
personalization in learning systems; their work focused on research published be tween the years 2011
and 2016. These dimensions include application scope, interaction and technological devices, and
educational domains. In a succinct preamble [13] to the IJAIED 25th Anniversary Issue focusing on
AIED research direction for the next 25 years, it is clear that modeling as a research thread will still be
part of AIED future research with more focus in per sonalization [19] and understanding of learners
and learning experiences through evaluation [20], [21]. The importance of evaluation of

World War I And The United States Essay
World War I was unlike any other war before it. The total casualties reached about about 38 million,
with over 17 million deaths, 7 million of them being civilians, and 20 million wounded. World War I
was well known for the extensive system of trenches from which men of both sides fought, the lethal
new technologies unleashed such as poison gas, and for the battles under the sea and in the skies. At
first, the two sides consisted of the Allies: France, Britain, and Russia, against the Central Powers:
Germany, Austria Hungary, and Turkey. As the war carried on however, the tides turned towards the
Central Powers. Needing help, the Allies turned towards America for assistance. The United States
however, were very reluctant at first, sticking to their public policies. Trading with both sides of the
belligerents, the United States did not want to halt their booming economy, and the large number of
protests by immigrant citizens made joining the war even less desirable. It was only after Britain s
decision to blockade Germany, Germany s announcement to resume unrestricted submarine warfare,
and the British discovery of the Zimmerman Telegram that the United States finally decided to join the
war. When World War I began, The United States made it clear that they didn t want to be involved in
the war, and maintained their neutrality. Isolationism was a long American tradition, embraced since
the earliest days of the country. In fact, during the century following the signing

Executive Order 906 Summary
III. FACTS:
During World War II, President Franklin Roosevelt signed executive order 9066 that ordered those
with Foreign Enemy Ancestry to be moved to internment camps. Congressional statues provided the
military the ability to remove Japanese citizens from any area that would be crucial to national
defense. The petitioner was Fred Korematsu and the respondent is the United States. The issue at hand
was Korematsu lived in San Leandro California who was ordered to move to a Japanese internment
camp. After refusing to leave San Leandro Korematsu was arrested and convicted. Korematsu claimed
the executive order was against the fifth amendment. After bringing the case to the court of appeals he
lost and appealed to the Supreme Court and challenged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
COURT DECISION
The Supreme Court decided the case on December 18, 1944. The executive order held and supported
the idea of moving Japanese Americans to internment camps during World War II. The Justices who
supported the United States were Reed, Black, Stone, Douglas, Rutledge, and Frankfurter. The
Justices opposed were Murphy, Jackson, and Roberts. This was a makeup of six votes for the United
States and only three votes against. The Supreme Court agreed with the government to protect the
United states during the war which overruled Korematsu individual rights. VI. OPINION AND
REASONING OF THE COURT:
While the Supreme Court reviewed the case they relied heavily on a case prior, Hirabayashi v. United
States. After the president passed two executive orders giving the secretary of war the ability to
generate military areas. The other order included the ability to remove, supervise, or maintain outside
military areas.
Justice Black s weighed in his opinion which stated:
It should be noted, to begin with, that all legal restrictions which curtail the civil rights of a single
racial group are immediately suspect. That is not to say that all such restrictions are unconstitutional.
It is to say that courts must subject them to the most rigid scrutiny. Pressing public necessity may
sometimes justify the existence of such restrictions; racial antagonism never

Importance Of Animal Use For Entertainment
The third reason that humans use animals is for entertainment. Animal circuses, aquariums, zoos,
bullfighting, and dog fighting are examples of using animals for enjoyment. There has always been a
conflict whether it is ethical to keep animals in captivity and away from their natural habitat just for
fun. Humans started using animals for amusement since the ancient years. Even though the previous
generations methods were more deadly and cruel, the same concept of animal use for entertainment is
still applied. Kate Good, a famous author and animal activist, states in her article Five Cruel Methods
Used to Train Animals That Will Make You Skip the Next Animal Show in No Time: When you stop
looking at these attractions as an opportunity for you to see the animals you love, and see them for the
profit driven businesses they truly are, the discrepancies between good intentions and cruel action
becomes apparent. People visit the entertainment centers because they love animals without knowing
why the animals act the way they do. The crowd applauses when an elephant rides a tricycle, when a
cat jumps through multiple burning rings, when bears play soccer, or when dolphins draw Christmas
trees. Do these animals understand what they are doing? Are they doing what they are doing because
they enjoy it? No, evidence has revealed that animals go through a cruel process, also known as
PHAJAAN, since their infancies to be trained for these humane activities for the public.

How Did John Locke Influence The Declaration Of Independence
John Locke is not well known as a founder of the Declaration of Independence, but he is a main figure
behind the philosophy of it. At first the Declaration and Locke seem to have no connection, but once
one takes the time to look deeper they can see that the Declaration echoes Locke. Locke s philosophy
is condensed into a few hundred words under Thomas Jefferson s pen.
A famous English philosopher known as John Locke was one of the most influential philosophers of
the Enlightenment. His philosophy was based on the idea that certain rights are endowed upon people
by nature and not dependent on the government; this philosophy is known as Natural Law. These
rights are known as Natural Rights, and according to Locke they consist of life, liberty,

In one sudden movement, I found myself lying down. From what had once been a still and
contemplative stare forward, I suddenly had no recollection of how I landed with my eyes observing
upwards with my head at a ninety degree angle from the ground. I became aware of how finely cut the
edges of the Drakensburg wild grass were, as they sliced through the thick hair on my head and legs,
pushing eagerly towards my scalp and skin, pulling me further into the ground, returning me. I became
aware of how unstable the ground was as it bubbled and flowed past the bends and protrusions of my
spine, preparing to split beneath me and return me. I became aware of how silent the air was as I
listened for a voice of consolation but was met with the wallowing of daggered winds. I noticed the
sky above me. Too soon yet too late, I was holstered from my daze and told to return.
Eyes widened. Pupils dilated. Shivering. Wincing. I tried to squirm. I tried to scream. As I gazed at the
ephemeral blackness, extending past the reaches of my peripheral vision, I found the three burning
balls on Orion s Belt. There they were. They must have been real. For a few metres to the right a

Stereotypes In Jurassic Park
Some of the dinosaur behaviors in the Jurassic Park book by Michael Crichton weren t scientifically
accurate. The dinosaur characteristics described may have been a bit skewed from what researchers
believe. Not all material was made up, it was nice to see the material that was actually accurate and
understandable. Since dinosaurs lived so long ago, before our time, there s no way to actually know
how they actually looked and act besides from the information gathered from fossils. One detail that
stuck out to me was when scientist Dr. Wu believed that he only grew female dinosaurs to avoid
breeding. According to evidence scientists weren t able to determine the sex of dinosaurs so how

One fact that was clarified in the book was that Saurapodomorphas didn t like living in swamping

characters in the book said that the dinosaurs smell or that they weren t intelligent. There s no telling
how a dinosaur smelled because no one was already to know. Even though the intelligence of dinosaur
weren t known but many animals learn to adapt and survive. Couldn t scientist make an estimate of
how brain was using the skull of dinosaurs that they discovered? This doesn t necessarily prove their
intelligence but it can be a start. Another detail was that Dilophosaurus had a poison that they spit to
kill their predators because their jaw was too weak but theropods were known for their sharp teeth and
flexible jaw for eating their prey. The velociraptors were portrayed as very viscous animals that were
ready to attack. In the book it said they worked in pacts and charged at very fast speeds, jumped and

Our brains today are capable of thinking, making decisions, learning, and creating new ideas and

as our modern brain. Studies suggest that this increase of brain size was all due to an unexpected
factor that occurred almost 2 million years ago; this skill discovered by the homo erectus known today
as cooking. Humans also discovered how to propagate traits into crops, making them easier to collect
and consume. Millions of years ago, ancient humans developed new and more modern ways of

Sleep Disorders And Sleep Disorder
Every single person in the world sleeps, but why or what exactly makes us sleep? This is a very good
question because everyone does it without actually thinking about it. Knowing or even trying to
understand how one sleeps can be a very interesting topic to dissect. This also gives researchers a wide
area of study for collecting data and then interpreting that data for doctors to help patients. It is
important to learn and study sleep, especially if one has one or more sleeping disorder(s). We can
study that behavior and find ways to remedy or even cure whichever sleep disorder(s) you may have.
Not getting adequate sleep can cause many everyday tasks to be rather difficult to accomplish and also
even make every day learning and remembering more difficult. Not only remembering during the day,
but also remembering when you are sleeping. You may be asking, remembering when you sleep?
Well, when you get an insufficient amount of sleep you become more prone to sleep disorders such as
parasomnia and obstructive sleep apnea. Sleep is a topic that many neuropsychologists would like to
study in order to better understand the body in its state of rest and even find how sleep is related to
crime and in more appalling cases, murder. First, why do we sleep? Sleep is a very complex and
sometimes a very hard to understand matter of human life. We all know that sleep is a necessity and if
we don t get an adequate amount then things start to deteriorate in our mind and body. Thomas Edison

Robert I. Lerman is in favor of using apprenticeships in today s workforce for millions of Americans.
He uses rhetorical analysis to appeal to the readers. The first one is pathos which is using feelings,
desires, or fears to influence readers. A large scale apprenticeships system will help the United States
deal with several chronic problems. They include disengagement among high school students;
stagnant wages among those without a bachelor s degree; declining participation among men in the
workforce; and skill shortages in a range of occupations (Lerman 857). Apprenticeships will help the
world with the problem of people not being qualified when the start their job. If people do
apprenticeships in high school and college, they will be more qualified for the job and will succeed
more than their coworkers if they do a work study program. The second one he uses is logos which is

Firstly, the long term addition of Jeff Petry, who looked like a top pairing defenseman in last playoffs,
will certainly bring an element of stability to this Montreal defense. Petry has signed a 6 year deal
with the Canadiens and at the age of 27, this deal takes him through his prime years.
Secondly, the addition of Petry also allows Markov and Subban to play a bit less hockey in a lenghty
season, which will allow the two most relied on defensemen to have a bit more energy throughout the
season and into the playoffs.
Finally, the Montreal defense is improved in the sense that it is as deep as it ever has been. General
manager Marc Bergevin has definitely put emphasis on defensemen this off season. The signings of
Joel Hanley, Ryan Johnston, Mark Barberio and the drafting of Noah Juulsen and Simon Bourque
demonstrates this focus.
Out of this list, I am intrigued by defenseman Mark Barberio, a Montreal native. He is a quick skater

Pros And Cons Of Tariffs
Pros and Cons of Tariffs
Principles of Macroeconomics
Columbia Southern University
BBA 2401
Angelo Jones
Managing the how goods and services enter or leave this country (import/export) is an important
process that allows for us to control the economic status of our nation. Sometimes imposing tariffs on
the goods imported balances our labor cost, resources and government supported industry. A tariff by
definition is a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports.
Economic policy of nations and states, tariffs are tools used to control the flow of goods, services and
resources being brought into the country. The overall purpose is to create security for the domestic
industry from the imported product. These products can sometimes be less expensive to purchase than
the goods being manufactured in the local economy. (McEachern, 2015) The government does this
either stimulate or deflate trade with other countries. (Fontinelle, 2012)
There are quite a few forms of tariffs that the government may apply based on the condition of the
country s economic welfare. The pros and cons of these forms of tariffs will be reviewed. Discussion
on how these tariffs positively or negatively affects the economic stance of the country will be
displayed. Tariffs such as the ad valorem, the taxing a percentage of the value of an item and the
specific tariff or tax which is a set amount based on weight or sum of items. (McEachern, 2015)

Essay On African American Family
Although most African Americans in the United States are Protestant, 78% compared with only 51%
of the United States as a whole. I will note that Protestantism in the U.S. and in the black community
is not homogenous. It is divided among three main steam traditions, evangelical Protestant churches,
mainline Protestant churches and historically black Protestant churches.
Other similarities that African Americans and Lebanese Americans share are their love for food and
family. African Americans love to eat, as do Lebanese Americans and what better way to do this than
at a family gathering. I have several Lebanese families that live on my block and at least monthly they
have a family gathering that includes each family member arriving with food (usually potluck style).

it back. An article from About.com reports that over a lifetime, people with a high school diploma earn
$1.2 million dollars, while people with a Bachelor s degree earn $2.1 million, and people with a
Master s degree earn $2.5 million. Good news! I have a Bachelor s degree! And I almost have a
Master s! And yet, I am still not feeling very confident no, not at all confident that I can pay this back.
Being able to follow the career of my dreams is worth it. The education is worth it too, I am convinced
of that. If I did not have the opportunity to stick my head up out of the daily grind and dabble in
academic activities, I d be drowning. Unfortunately, I am drowning anyway, but in money instead.
There is one small light at the end of my tunnel, but it is getting smaller year by year. Most of my
student loan debt as is most of everyone s student loan debt is in Stafford and Perkins loans. There is a
program offered by the government that allows me to have my loans completely forgiven 100% taken
away! All I have to do is...well, a lot. It works like this. I am studying to become a teacher, so when I
graduate with my teaching certificate, I have to make sure I get hired by a low income school. That is
not so hard, really, since to be low income a school only has to have a certain percentage of students

The Last Mate
The Last Caresses from the Hand of a Loving Father
Guy is disappointed with the life he has lived and accepts that. He knows his family is strong enough
to survive on their own. He wants himself to be remembered as a hero vs a poor man. Therefore, Guy
takes it upon himself to make himself look like a hero so his son can live in his footsteps. As Guy is
losing his importance, he comes to realize that this isn t the life he wants to be remembered for.
Immediately the reader is thrown into the struggling family dynamic of the Guy being dismissed out
of the household for his son. Accordingly, the author gradually builds up the tension of Guy slipping

St. Louis Piety
St. Louis has all these traits he is well educated, a strong warrior, very pious and has authority. He
comes from the nobility so he was well educated and taught to fight. His family has a long tradition of
being kings and they have a good relation with the Church. But everyone makes him out to be the
ideal king. The kind of king that everyone should aspire to be. But that is not true. He went on two
crusades. On the first his army was defeated and his country was forced to pay for his release. On is
second he was killed. His religious piety was his undoing. He was so focused on religious goals that
he lost sight of being a good king. As talked about early a good king needs to have a balance of traits

faced with a decision of where to go after capturing Damietta. They could choose to follow the 5th

History of the Crusades takes about St. Louis reasoning behind his choice to go to Mansurah. Louis
deeply believed that God was eager to bestow great victories on his army of crusaders, and the ease
with which they had taken Damietta confirmed this for him. He felt certain that similar victories
awaited them at Mansurah and Cairo if only they put their trust in God rather than in clever

Mount Ruapehu Essay
The Māori definition for Mount Ruapehu is exploding pit of noise, a phrase that is suitable for the
2787 metre tall volcano. Mount Ruapehu is the highest active volcano in New Zealand and the most
dangerous of the Volcanic Plateau region, see figure 1. Often defined by its large Crater Lake, the
classic cone volcano is shaped by a layered landscape with a ring plain at the summits peak. All of
these surface features seen today, are the result and combination of internal and external geological
processes.
Mount Ruapehu is located at the Southern end of the extremely active Taupo Volcanic Zone, close to
the centre of the North Island in New Zealand, see figure 2. As a result of continental drift, volcanic
landforms are developed by collisions and movement of tectonic plates in the Earth s crust.
Earth is made up of five major layers including the inner core, outer core, mantle, upper mantle and
crust. The upper mantle of the Earth is a approximately 1100C, a temperature so hot that the rock
melts to form a molten layer, causing the pieces of the Earth s
crust to move and collide. Convention currents is a progression where hot magma from the upper
mantle rises towards the surface where it then cools and forms a surface skin, see figure 3. The skin is
pushed aside as more magma develops, then forced back under the upper mantle. The skin melts and
the process is repeated.
When plate boundaries meet, they rub against each other either shattering, sliding or buckling

Clean Green Fuels Case Study

In 2009, Rodney Rashawn Hailey, the owner of Clean Green Fuels, embarked on a journey defraud
the EPA. Hailey started by registering his business with the Environmental protection Agency EPA as
a renewable energy producer under the EPA s 2005 Renewable Fuel Standard Program (RFSP), which
was established in the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA). RFSP requires oil refiners to
produce a certain quantity of renewable fuel or purchase credit equivalent to the quaintly as a mean to
compensate for their production of petroleum based fuel. These credits were given in the form of
Renewable Identification Numbers (RIN). Every certified batch of clean fuel produced in the United

The officers visit the corporate headquarter without warning Hailey. During their visit, they
questioned Hailey about the CGF s operation process. Oddly Hailey couldn t provide the agents with a
specific location where the fuel was being produced. He also made some inconsistent and self
incriminating statements and even noted that his business was temporally out of commission.
Eventually they obtained an address where some of the biofuel production was occurring but when
they arrived at the site all they found was a couple of empty containers.
In May 2011 Judge Beth P issued several warrants and seizures warrants for Hailey s home, office,
bank account and other valuable items in possession because of RIN sales. Internal Revenue Service
(IRS) special agent Catherine Chow lead the warrant execution team. Local police called Hailey and
informed him that a suspicious person had been sighted on his property and if the department could
search for the suspect. When Hailey came to open the gate, federal agents bombarded the vicinity.
Hailey was eventually sentenced to 12 years in federal prison for selling false RIN and pocketing $9.1
million in fraudulent renewable energy credits. His assets were confiscated, and he was required to
pay $42.2 million in restitution. Hailey was charged with wire fraud, engaging in an illegal monetary

All of the authors worked as consultants at McKinsey and Company; in the 1980s, they used the
model to analyse over 70 large organisations. The McKinsey 7S Framework was created as a
recognisable and easily remembered model in business. The seven variables, which the authors term
levers , all begin with the letter S : Figure 1: McKinsey s 7S Model These seven variables include
structure, strategy, systems, skills, style, staff and shared values. Structure is defined as the skeleton of
the organisation or the organisational chart. The authors describe strategy as the plan or course of
action in allocating resources to achieve identified goals over time. The systems are the routine
processes and procedures followed within the organisation. Staff are described in terms of personnel
categories within the organisation (e.g. engineers), whereas the skills variable refers to the capabilities
of the staff within the organisation as a whole. The way in which key managers behave in achieving
organisational goals is considered to be the style variable; this variable is thought to encompass the
cultural style of the organisation. The shared values variable, originally termed superordinate goals,
refers to the significant meanings or guiding concepts that organisational members share (Peters and

History of Nursing Profession
History of nursing profession Prior to the foundation of modern nursing, nuns and the military often
provided nursing like services. Florence Nightingale is the founder of modern nurses. she formed the
base for the first professional nursing philosophy. She saw the role of nursing as having charge of
somebody s health (Crisp amp;Taylor,2009) based on the knowledge of how to put the body in such a
state to be free of disease or to recover from disease (Crisp amp;Taylor,2009). The religious and
military roots of modern nursing remain in evidence today in many countries, for example in the
United Kingdom, senior female nurses are known as sisters. It was during time of war that a

The Army Nursing Service (ANS) oversaw the work of the nurses starting in 1881. These military
nurses were sent overseas beginning with the First Boer War (often called Zulu War) from 1879 to
1881.[6] They were also dispatched to serve during the Egyptian Campaign in 1882 and the Sudan
War of 1883 to 1884. During the Sudan War members of the Army Nursing Service nursed in hospital
ships on the Nile as well as the Citadel in Cairo. Almost 2000 nurses served during the second Boer
War, the Anglo Boer War of 1899 to 1902, alongside nurses who were part of the colonial armies of
Australia, Canada and New Zealand. They served in tented field hospitals. 23 Army Nursing sisters
from Britain lost their lives from disease outbreaks. Sporadic progress was made on several
continents, where medical pioneers established formal nursing schools. But even as late as the 1870s,
women working in North American urban hospitals typically were untrained, working class, and
accorded lowly status by both the medical profession they supported and society at large . Nursing had
the same status in Great Britain and continental Europe before World War I. Hospital nursing schools
in the United States and Canada took the lead in applying Nightingale s model to their training
programmers. Standards of classroom and on the job training had risen sharply in the 1880s and
1890s, and along with them the expectation of decorous and professional conduct. By the beginning of

Justice And Moderation In Plato s Republic
In Plato s Republic, justice is often characterized as a just act resulting in a just outcome. Moderation
is factored into this as well. Moderation allows for not just a being, but for a whole city to continue to
function justly. The cardinal virtues that enable justice can also be the same for moderation. Justice
and injustice are compared when running a city, but only the just city will cause perfect serenity
between all three classes of people. Justice and moderation are distinctly similar but also exquisitely
different. Plato distinctly outlines the makings for his just city. The blueprints left behind by Plato are
crucial to understanding where justice and moderation factor in to cause a just city to function justly.

Throughout history many U.S. Supreme Court Justices have served for numerous years on the
Supreme court making final decisions on diverse cases that have created long lasting impacts. The
current supreme court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and former justice Sandra Day O Connor have not

Secondary Structure Prediction
When analyzing the secondary structure predictions of the query sequence from the five prediction
programs, the majority of the programs seemed to detect the presence of one long, uninterrupted helix
on the N terminal side of the pilE protein. However, some programs, such as PORTER (Pollastri et al.,
2005) and SSpro (Magnan et al., 2014) indicated the presence of two helices interrupted by a small
gap of random coils. While these results appear to contradict each other at first, upon further
inspection, this can be explained by the fact that when two helices are very close to each other, some
algorithms may erroneously pick it up as 1 long helix since secondary prediction programs are not
100% accurate. Thus, in the consensus secondary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One possible reason for this discrepancy that while these species represent species that are homologs
of each other, some of their secondary structures may slightly differ from one another. Another
possible reason for this discrepancy may be because, as briefly mentioned before, secondary structure
prediction programs are not always accurate and thus, there could have been an error made in one of
the programs, allowing for detection of an extra beta strand or for a beta strand to go undetected. This
is perfectly illustrated by the PORTER server, which mysteriously predicts a helix spanning amino
acid residues 104 113 of the query sequence when all the other programs predicted either a beta strand
or random coil in that range instead (Figure 1b). Since PORTER was the only program to predict a
helix in this range, it is considered an outlier and thus, it can largely be ignored as an error when
making the consensus secondary structure prediction. The initial domain architecture was generated
based on the known pilE protein in Neisseria gonorrhoeae (control sequence) and consisted of two
domains, the N terminal domain and the pilA domain. Using the metaserver InterPro, the N terminal
domain was predicted to span amino acid residues 2 29, while the pilA domain was predicted to span
residues 36 161 (Finn et al., 2017). Although there seemed to be a somewhat high correspondence

Personal Leadership And Philosophy Style
Personal Leadership and Philosophy Style
Four years ago I wrote my first Personal Philosophy of Leadership paper. The personal leadership
style I identified with, at that time, was the democratic style. I had chosen this style of leadership
because of the teamwork, constructive criticism, motivation, good communication, dedication, and
good attitude attributes of the democratic style. Four years later, being present time, I have learned and
experienced a great deal more about leadership styles. I now think I identify with a mixture of both the
democratic style for the attributes aforementioned, as well as the affiliative style for the relationship
building, freedom, creative, and focus on people attributes of the affiliative style. This paper examines
the evolution and refinement of my chosen style of leadership, the philosophy that embodies this style,
and the theoretical framework that guides this style.
Evolution and Refinement of Leadership Philosophy
Evolution and refinement involve growth, change, and improvement. Philosophy can be described as a
set of core values and beliefs that guide and direct one s actions and motivations (Roussel, 2013, p.
348). According to Roussel (2013) leadership is the process of influencing the activities of an
organized group in its efforts toward goal setting and goal achievement (p. 731). Leadership
philosophy can be described as that set of core values and beliefs that guide and direct one s style of
leadership, or how one

Transitioning from Legacy Systems to an Enterprise Resource Planning System:

Abstract:
As a result of technological advancements, modern businesses seek new and improved methods of
conducting their business processes. Systems have been designed to augment and manage core
business functions such as production, accounting, procurement, and human resources. However, even
with these systems in place, information is unreliable and inconsistent if they are on disparate
platforms. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software tackles this problem by integrating business
processes into a centralized system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the information that was used to compose this paper was taken from prior ERP articles, online
reference tools, and ERP books.
What is an ERP System?
An ERP system integrates an organization s data and services in a single system. ERP systems
combine computer hardware and software during the process of integration. One thing most ERP
systems have in common is the use of a single database that is used to store information for different
system components. To obtain an ERP status, a given software package must successfully function as
at least two systems. For example, a software package can hypothetically be considered an ERP
system if it can execute human resources and financial functions.
Even though this will accomplish the function of an ERP system, ERP applications typically support
much larger business platforms (Wikipedia, 2007).
ERP, in its entirety, provides a single database that stores all the data for its individual modules. Some
of the modules an ERP system supports include, but is not limited to:
Manufacturing
Supply Chain Management
Financials
Projects
Human Resources
Customer Relationship Management
Data Warehouse
Table 1.1 summarizes the various modules that an ERP application supports and the business functions
that are carried out within each module.

In the year 1800 a slave rebellion leader was born, who would later on change the life of the enslaved.
His name would soon become a celebrity status of the south.
Nat Turner s rebellion was one of the largest slave rebellions in the United States. Nat turner was born
into slavery in the year of 1800 in Southampton, Virginia. People on the plantation believed he was a
prophet and chosen by God to lead them to great things. He knew of stories that were told before he
was alive and his grandmother and mother knew then that he was special and sent from God.

militiamen to end the rebellion. Slave masters at this time was terrified and didn t know if they were
next for this slaying or if their slaves were plotting the same rebellion. The militiamen gave the white
people a slight relief of security. As the rebellion approached the town of Jerusalem the militia stopped
them and many fled into the woods because they knew they were outnumbered. The militia searched
and captured or killed the men who participating in the rebellion, except for Nat Turner, Nat hid for
two months in Southampton County. Once he was captured, he was tried in court and then hanged and
skinned his body. The other men were executed by the state or decapitated and heads posted on stakes
to terrorize the black community. The fear in whites spread and they went out to kill blacks that had
nothing to do with the Nat turner s rebellion. These white mobs killed up to three hundred blacks. The
governor of Virginia attempted to put a stop to these white mobs. The state legislature of Virginia
considered ending slavery but ended up voting to restrict blacks freedom, hoping to prevent any future

Modification Of Host Behavior By Parasites
Modification of Host Behavior by Parasites Two fundamental principals are capable of explaining the
entire field of biology and it can be said that every living organism operates by these two principals.
Whether it be the most basic single celled prokaryotes who dwell in the boiling hot waters of
hydrothermal vents or the most highly evolved of the animal kingdom, Homo sapiens, whose brain is
so complex that it seems to exist almost as a microcosm of our own universe, all are driven by the
same two motivations. First, and by far the most important, is sex. Everything must have sex.
Reproduction, whether sexual or asexual, and procreation are the highest priorities of any organism
and the continued existence of life on this Earth depends upon on this achievement. Secondly, and
significantly less important than reproduction is survival. It may seem humorous to entertain the idea
that a sexual (or asexual) experience could possibly be of greater concern to an organism than the
preservation of its own life, but it is not entirely absurd. Only completion of the former allows for a
species, and essentially life as a whole, to progress and evolve, while completion of the latter does not.
Survival without reproduction has no purpose. Indeed, it could be argued that longevity serves the
only purpose of facilitating the occurrence of more reproductive opportunities before the inevitable
death of the organism. As every organism contained within the millions and millions of

Social Responsibility Issues In The 1930 s
One reason that there is so much government regulation involving social responsibility issues, is due
to the public putting pressure on them to do something about all the bad social conditions occurring to
people back in the 1930 s. The government involvement prior to that was centered more on the
American business. People had to endure poor working conditions and low wages, without much hope
of things improving. There were no advocates for the working class. The change did not come until
pressure was put on the government to do something. The turning point came when Franklin D.
Roosevelt became president, and started to change the way a business was allowed to operate. Once
the government became involved, the conditions, wages, and fair

Use of Energy by the Human Body
Throughout a normal day, the body uses glucose in the form of energy. The glucose that the body uses
is attained from carbohydrates that one receives from a meal eaten during the day. However, when
glucose begins to run out, especially if a person is rigorously exercising, and is not restocked, the body
must use its energy supplies, glycogen. Glycogen is one of the most important polysaccharides in the
human body. It is the body s stored energy; with the highest storing sites being the muscles and liver.
Glycogen is important to the liver because it is able to provide a backup supply of glucose so that
blood glucose concentration is maintained at a sufficient level to supply the brain during times of
starvation. Glycogen s function in sustaining blood glucose levels is imperative because glucose is
essentially the only fuel source used by the brain. The primary function of muscle glycogen is to
supply fuel for the contraction of the muscles during exercise. However, insufficient amount of
glycogen in the liver and muscles can lead to numerous diseases, diseases like Glycogen Storage
Disorders (GSD). Glycogen synthesis and breakdown occur by distinctive pathways that are catalyzed
by different enzymes. Glycogen phosphorylation involves three steps: the first is the release of glucose
1 phosphate from glycogen, then altering of the glycogen substrate to allow additional
phosphorylation, and last is the conversion of glucose 1 phosphate to glucose 6 phosphate. Glycogen

Analysis Of A Modest Proposal By Jonathan Swift
A slanted truth is when a person tries to lessen the blow of the truth by not saying the whole truth or
says it in a manner that eases the blow by using tactics such as humor. A Modest Proposal by Jonathan
Swift is a piece of literature that is used to make a statement to the people and leaders of Ireland to
hopefully scare them into changing their corrupt taxing system and poor treatment of the middle class.
Swift s idea to offer up children to be eaten is a rather diverting way that slants the truth for the public
while still getting his point across.
Eating children is a horrendous thought for any human, or at least it should be. During the 1700s
Ireland was going through economic struggles brought on by the poor leadership of the country. The
rich, who ran the country where over taxing and raising the price to live everyday life to help support
their grand life style. When the country faced economic struggles and jobs became scared, the rick
stayed in their high castle while the rest of the country struggled just to eat. This nearly wiped out the
middle class. It is a melancholy object to those, who walk through this great town, or travel in the
country, when they see the streets, the roads and cabin doors crowded with beggars of the female sex,
followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags, and importuning every passenger for an alms.
(Swift, Paragraph 1)
A Modest Proposal was created to show the country how their corrupt political system is leading to its
destruction. Swift uses the slant proposal of raising and eating the poors children for the upper class
for money will actually help the country through their hardships. But my intention is very far from
being confined to provide only for the children of professed beggars: it is of a much greater extent,
and shall take in the whole number of infants at a certain age, who are born of parents in effect as little
able to support them, as those who demand our charity in the streets. (Swift, Paragraph 3) There is a
whole system within the madness that is very persuasive and convincing of his ridiculous idea. First
off the mother and father must start to have more children. He states that the children should be raised
up, and even bred

The Bush Administration Weaknesses
The President of the United States (U.S.) as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the head of
Government as well, has an enormous responsibility to maintain the balance between politics and
security matters. In this regard, the role of advisors and counselors, responsible for directing sensitive
security agencies and organizations, is fundamental to the success of the decision making process,
especially when the eyes of the world are expectant of the behavior of such a leading nation. However,
nations and organizations are led by imperfect human beings who in turn translate their strengths and
weaknesses to such structures. The National Security environment is not strange to this phenomenon
and some administrations have had a more prominent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some experts affirm that Obama s National Security policy was not precisely characterized by being
strategic but tactical oriented. Similarly, it is stated that Obama s National Security policy empowered
those who surrounded him simply because they would not refute or challenge any argument. Equally,
the NSC is accused of having been plagued with negative bureaucracy due to large number of
members in the NSC (more than 400). Other weaknesses are based on complaints noting that the NSC
conducted work that should have been done by the operational agencies. These factors affected the
proper functioning of the National Security agencies and their staffs while fostered micro management
whose negative effects are widely known. According to Rothkopf cited in Goldberg (2014), under
President Obama and Susan Rice, the U.S. was in the midst of a particularly dysfunctional period for

  • 2. Morgan Freeman Religion The Story of God with Morgan Freeman is a television documentary about the exploration of culture and religion. This film features Morgan Freeman who goes on a journey to try to find answers to questions about religious topics, especially on God. The producer Morgan Freeman is an American Actor and was born in 1937 in Tennessee but borrows his origin from Niger. He has won the Academy award and has featured as an Oscar nominee in 1987. He has performed in other films such as Street Smart (1987) and Driving Miss Daisy (1989). This film is only one episode of many series produced by Morgan Freeman other episodes include Beyond Death and Apocalypse both in season one. Who is God? This is a question that is frequently asked yet different people give a different answer depending on their religious alignments. The understanding of God has proven to be beyond the human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Christian worldview is presented as simply one choice among many. Generally speaking, every religion is treated reasonably fairly, and every religion gets misrepresented to a certain extent. In the film Morgan Freeman and, the producers of the film admire, and respect the worldview of the eastern religions for instance Buddhism and Hinduism. It is evident in how much time is given to the various religious perspectives, can definitely be discerned in the concluding summaries, and is even sometimes apparent in Freeman s tone of voice. Even though this film was presented in class, and I do not know much about Hinduism or Buddhism, the film shows those two religions as monolithic, with most followers of those religions as sharing the same beliefs. This though is false. Hinduism has many aspects to it like a mixture of pantheistic, polytheistic, and even monotheistic qualities. There are many elements that form a Buddhist religion, and not only one concept of following it. (Yoshida Stephen, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Kingdom Of God Study Guide Joseph Ratzinger, also known as Pope Benedict XVI, wrote a book, Jesus of Nazareth: From Baptism In The Jordan To The Transfiguration. In the book, there is a chapter entitled, The Gospel Of The Kingdom Of God. In the Bible, Jesus often spoke about the Kingdom of God. There are four questions I will attempt to answer. 1. What is the Kingdom of God? 2. How does the Kingdom of God appear in the Old Testament? 3. How do Jesus words and deeds relate to the Kingdom of God? and 4. How does the concept Kingdom of God connect to the Old and New Testament? Analysis Of The Borden War Measures Act The Borden War Measures Act The War Measures Act was introduced in 1914 as a way to give unlimited authority to the government as a way to protect the populace during the First World War. However the idea of protecting the populace did not come to be. Both civilians and the federal government in some way acted against the civil rights of others using the War Measures Act. It enabled war profiteering and the unfair treatment of those classified as Enemy Aliens . The reason why such a poorly made weapon was made standard issue in the Canadian military was because of Sam Hughes the Minister of Militia and Defence who drew serious criticism when he defended it against growing evidence of its deficiencies in combat (8). Had the War Measures Act not been in place better quality products for soldiers could have been produced. But it would also be ignorant to not acknowledge that industry in Canada had grown because of the war. The war called for vast quantities of shells for artillery and Canadian factories produced a large majority of shells. However at the start of production, Sam Hughes, initially established a Shell Committee to coordinate production, but its failure to deliver on contracts led to angry recriminations between Canada and Britain and widespread rumours of corruption. (10). It was not until a new production company, the Imperial Munitions Board, was established under toronto businessman Joseph Flavelle did production start to pick up. Since the board was organized according to sound business practices and hired professional managers to oversee its operations (11). • 5. Accounting 504 Discussion Questions Week 2 1.) What is meant by the term double entry accounting? Examples are great and try to build on what each other has said. Double entry accounting is based on the fact that every financial transaction has equal and opposite effects in at least two different accounts. In the double entry system, transactions are recorded in terms of debits and credits. Since a debit in one account will be offset by a credit in another account, the sum of all debits must therefore be exactly equal to the sum of all credits. The double entry system of bookkeeping or accounting makes it easier to accurately prepare financial statements directly from the books of account and detect errors. For example: A company borrows a loan ... What are adjusting entries and why are they important? | | | | | | Adjusting entries are usually made on the last day of an accounting period so that the financial statements reflect the revenues that have been earned and the expenses that were incurred during the accounting period. The purpose of each adjusting entry is to get both the income statement and the balance sheet to be correct. An example of adjusting entry: a customer paid a company in advance of receiving goods or service, the amount is reported as a liability. After the goods or services are delivered, an adjusting entry is needed to reduce the liability and to report the revenues. 5.) Cash basis vs Accrual basis The difference between accrual and cash basis accounting is the timing of when revenue and expenses are recognized. The cash method is most used by small businesses and for personal finances. The cash method for revenue is only used when the money is received and expenses are only used when the money is paid out. The accrual method is used for revenue when it is earned and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result, personalization of learning environments has been one of AIED s most important research trends. Studies attest that personalization improves attainment of learning goals by learners. The key is the one to one relationship between learners and the source of their support; and more specifically how the support styles are in accordance with learners learning styles and preferred support styles [17], [18]. One of the earliest threads of research that is central to the success of personalization is modeling of all key elements in a learning environment [6], [15], [16]. Personalization requires attentive modeling of learning agents (learner, mentors), resources (learning objects), and the learning en vironment. Santos et al. These dimensions include application scope, interaction and technological devices, and educational domains. In a succinct preamble [13] to the IJAIED 25th Anniversary Issue focusing on AIED research direction for the next 25 years, it is clear that modeling as a research thread will still be part of AIED future research with more focus in per sonalization [19] and understanding of learners and learning experiences through evaluation [20], [21]. The total casualties reached about about 38 million, with over 17 million deaths, 7 million of them being civilians, and 20 million wounded. World War I was well known for the extensive system of trenches from which men of both sides fought, the lethal new technologies unleashed such as poison gas, and for the battles under the sea and in the skies. At first, the two sides consisted of the Allies: France, Britain, and Russia, against the Central Powers: Germany, Austria Hungary, and Turkey. As the war carried on however, the tides turned towards the Central Powers. Needing help, the Allies turned towards America for assistance. The United States however, were very reluctant at first, sticking to their public policies. Trading with both sides of the belligerents, the United States did not want to halt their booming economy, and the large number of protests by immigrant citizens made joining the war even less desirable. It was only after Britain s decision to blockade Germany, Germany s announcement to resume unrestricted submarine warfare, and the British discovery of the Zimmerman Telegram that the United States finally decided to join the war. When World War I began, The United States made it clear that they didn t want to be involved in the war, and maintained their neutrality. Animal circuses, aquariums, zoos, bullfighting, and dog fighting are examples of using animals for enjoyment. There has always been a conflict whether it is ethical to keep animals in captivity and away from their natural habitat just for fun. Humans started using animals for amusement since the ancient years. Even though the previous generations methods were more deadly and cruel, the same concept of animal use for entertainment is still applied. Kate Good, a famous author and animal activist, states in her article Five Cruel Methods Used to Train Animals That Will Make You Skip the Next Animal Show in No Time: When you stop looking at these attractions as an opportunity for you to see the animals you love, and see them for the profit driven businesses they truly are, the discrepancies between good intentions and cruel action becomes apparent. People visit the entertainment centers because they love animals without knowing why the animals act the way they do. The crowd applauses when an elephant rides a tricycle, when a cat jumps through multiple burning rings, when bears play soccer, or when dolphins draw Christmas trees. This is a very good question because everyone does it without actually thinking about it. Knowing or even trying to understand how one sleeps can be a very interesting topic to dissect. This also gives researchers a wide area of study for collecting data and then interpreting that data for doctors to help patients. It is important to learn and study sleep, especially if one has one or more sleeping disorder(s). We can study that behavior and find ways to remedy or even cure whichever sleep disorder(s) you may have. Not getting adequate sleep can cause many everyday tasks to be rather difficult to accomplish and also even make every day learning and remembering more difficult. Not only remembering during the day, but also remembering when you are sleeping. You may be asking, remembering when you sleep? Well, when you get an insufficient amount of sleep you become more prone to sleep disorders such as parasomnia and obstructive sleep apnea. Sleep is a topic that many neuropsychologists would like to study in order to better understand the body in its state of rest and even find how sleep is related to crime and in more appalling cases, murder. Pros And Cons Of Tariffs Pros and Cons of Tariffs Principles of Macroeconomics Columbia Southern University BBA 2401 Angelo Jones Managing the how goods and services enter or leave this country (import/export) is an important process that allows for us to control the economic status of our nation. Sometimes imposing tariffs on the goods imported balances our labor cost, resources and government supported industry. A tariff by definition is a tax or duty to be paid on a particular class of imports or exports. Economic policy of nations and states, tariffs are tools used to control the flow of goods, services and resources being brought into the country. Often defined by its large Crater Lake, the classic cone volcano is shaped by a layered landscape with a ring plain at the summits peak. All of these surface features seen today, are the result and combination of internal and external geological processes. Mount Ruapehu is located at the Southern end of the extremely active Taupo Volcanic Zone, close to the centre of the North Island in New Zealand, see figure 2. As a result of continental drift, volcanic landforms are developed by collisions and movement of tectonic plates in the Earth s crust. Earth is made up of five major layers including the inner core, outer core, mantle, upper mantle and crust. The upper mantle of the Earth is a approximately 1100C, a temperature so hot that the rock melts to form a molten layer, causing the pieces of the Earth s crust to move and collide. Convention currents is a progression where hot magma from the upper mantle rises towards the surface where it then cools and forms a surface skin, see figure 3. The skin is pushed aside as more magma develops, then forced back under the upper mantle. The skin melts and the process is repeated. When plate boundaries meet, they rub against each other either shattering, sliding or buckling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hailey started by registering his business with the Environmental protection Agency EPA as a renewable energy producer under the EPA s 2005 Renewable Fuel Standard Program (RFSP), which was established in the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA). RFSP requires oil refiners to produce a certain quantity of renewable fuel or purchase credit equivalent to the quaintly as a mean to compensate for their production of petroleum based fuel. Eventually they obtained an address where some of the biofuel production was occurring but when they arrived at the site all they found was a couple of empty containers. Moderation allows for not just a being, but for a whole city to continue to function justly. The cardinal virtues that enable justice can also be the same for moderation. Justice and injustice are compared when running a city, but only the just city will cause perfect serenity between all three classes of people. Justice and moderation are distinctly similar but also exquisitely different. Plato distinctly outlines the makings for his just city. The blueprints left behind by Plato are crucial to understanding where justice and moderation factor in to cause a just city to function justly. Secondary Structure Prediction When analyzing the secondary structure predictions of the query sequence from the five prediction programs, the majority of the programs seemed to detect the presence of one long, uninterrupted helix on the N terminal side of the pilE protein. However, some programs, such as PORTER (Pollastri et al., 2005) and SSpro (Magnan et al., 2014) indicated the presence of two helices interrupted by a small gap of random coils. While these results appear to contradict each other at first, upon further inspection, this can be explained by the fact that when two helices are very close to each other, some algorithms may erroneously pick it up as 1 long helix since secondary prediction programs are not 100% accurate. Thus, in the consensus secondary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One possible reason for this discrepancy that while these species represent species that are homologs of each other, some of their secondary structures may slightly differ from one another. Another possible reason for this discrepancy may be because, as briefly mentioned before, secondary structure prediction programs are not always accurate and thus, there could have been an error made in one of the programs, allowing for detection of an extra beta strand or for a beta strand to go undetected. This is perfectly illustrated by the PORTER server, which mysteriously predicts a helix spanning amino acid residues 104 113 of the query sequence when all the other programs predicted either a beta strand or random coil in that range instead (Figure 1b). Since PORTER was the only program to predict a helix in this range, it is considered an outlier and thus, it can largely be ignored as an error when making the consensus secondary structure prediction. The initial domain architecture was generated based on the known pilE protein in Neisseria gonorrhoeae (control sequence) and consisted of two domains, the N terminal domain and the pilA domain. Using the metaserver InterPro, the N terminal domain was predicted to span amino acid residues 2 29, while the pilA domain was predicted to span residues 36 161 (Finn et al., 2017). The personal leadership style I identified with, at that time, was the democratic style. I had chosen this style of leadership because of the teamwork, constructive criticism, motivation, good communication, dedication, and good attitude attributes of the democratic style. Four years later, being present time, I have learned and experienced a great deal more about leadership styles. I now think I identify with a mixture of both the democratic style for the attributes aforementioned, as well as the affiliative style for the relationship building, freedom, creative, and focus on people attributes of the affiliative style. This paper examines the evolution and refinement of my chosen style of leadership, the philosophy that embodies this style, and the theoretical framework that guides this style. Systems have been designed to augment and manage core business functions such as production, accounting, procurement, and human resources. Most of the information that was used to compose this paper was taken from prior ERP articles, online reference tools, and ERP books. What is an ERP System? An ERP system integrates an organization s data and services in a single system. ERP systems combine computer hardware and software during the process of integration. One thing most ERP systems have in common is the use of a single database that is used to store information for different system components. To obtain an ERP status, a given software package must successfully function as at least two systems. For example, a software package can hypothetically be considered an ERP system if it can execute human resources and financial functions. Even though this will accomplish the function of an ERP system, ERP applications typically support much larger business platforms (Wikipedia, 2007). ERP, in its entirety, provides a single database that stores all the data for its individual modules. Some of the modules an ERP system supports include, but is not limited to: Manufacturing Supply Chain Management Financials Projects Human Resources Customer Relationship Management Data Warehouse

Modification Of Host Behavior By Parasites Modification of Host Behavior by Parasites Two fundamental principals are capable of explaining the entire field of biology and it can be said that every living organism operates by these two principals. Whether it be the most basic single celled prokaryotes who dwell in the boiling hot waters of hydrothermal vents or the most highly evolved of the animal kingdom, Homo sapiens, whose brain is so complex that it seems to exist almost as a microcosm of our own universe, all are driven by the same two motivations. First, and by far the most important, is sex. Everything must have sex. Reproduction, whether sexual or asexual, and procreation are the highest priorities of any organism and the continued existence of life on this Earth depends upon on this achievement. Secondly, and significantly less important than reproduction is survival. It may seem humorous to entertain the idea that a sexual (or asexual) experience could possibly be of greater concern to an organism than the preservation of its own life, but it is not entirely absurd. Only completion of the former allows for a species, and essentially life as a whole, to progress and evolve, while completion of the latter does not. Survival without reproduction has no purpose. Indeed, it could be argued that longevity serves the only purpose of facilitating the occurrence of more reproductive opportunities before the inevitable death of the organism. • 43. Use of Energy by the Human Body Throughout a normal day, the body uses glucose in the form of energy. The glucose that the body uses is attained from carbohydrates that one receives from a meal eaten during the day. However, when glucose begins to run out, especially if a person is rigorously exercising, and is not restocked, the body must use its energy supplies, glycogen. Glycogen is one of the most important polysaccharides in the human body. It is the body s stored energy; with the highest storing sites being the muscles and liver. Glycogen is important to the liver because it is able to provide a backup supply of glucose so that blood glucose concentration is maintained at a sufficient level to supply the brain during times of starvation. Glycogen s function in sustaining blood glucose levels is imperative because glucose is essentially the only fuel source used by the brain. The primary function of muscle glycogen is to supply fuel for the contraction of the muscles during exercise. However, insufficient amount of glycogen in the liver and muscles can lead to numerous diseases, diseases like Glycogen Storage Disorders (GSD). Glycogen synthesis and breakdown occur by distinctive pathways that are catalyzed by different enzymes. Glycogen phosphorylation involves three steps: the first is the release of glucose 1 phosphate from glycogen, then altering of the glycogen substrate to allow additional phosphorylation, and last is the conversion of glucose 1 phosphate to glucose 6 phosphate. Analysis Of A Modest Proposal By Jonathan Swift A slanted truth is when a person tries to lessen the blow of the truth by not saying the whole truth or says it in a manner that eases the blow by using tactics such as humor. A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift is a piece of literature that is used to make a statement to the people and leaders of Ireland to hopefully scare them into changing their corrupt taxing system and poor treatment of the middle class. Swift s idea to offer up children to be eaten is a rather diverting way that slants the truth for the public while still getting his point across. Eating children is a horrendous thought for any human, or at least it should be. During the 1700s Ireland was going through economic struggles brought on by the poor leadership of the country. The rich, who ran the country where over taxing and raising the price to live everyday life to help support their grand life style. When the country faced economic struggles and jobs became scared, the rick stayed in their high castle while the rest of the country struggled just to eat. This nearly wiped out the middle class. It is a melancholy object to those, who walk through this great town, or travel in the country, when they see the streets, the roads and cabin doors crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags, and importuning every passenger for an alms. (Swift, Paragraph 1) A Modest Proposal was created to show the country how their corrupt political system is leading to its destruction. Swift uses the slant proposal of raising and eating the poors children for the upper class for money will actually help the country through their hardships. But my intention is very far from being confined to provide only for the children of professed beggars: it is of a much greater extent, and shall take in the whole number of infants at a certain age, who are born of parents in effect as little able to support them, as those who demand our charity in the streets.
