Impulse Buying Behavior And Marketing Decision Making
Impulse Buying Behavior
It plays a very important role and position in marketing decision making. It can be explained as a
tendency of making unreflective , spontaneous, immediate, kinetic, unplanned and sudden purchases.
Impulse buying has got two parts cognitive and affective where cognitive is related with planning and
latter one with situational factors leading to an impulse purchase. It provides hedonic reinforcement
and reduces overload of selection. It is revealed that cognitive component of impulse buying is
negatively related with subjective wellbeing, whereas affective component is associated to negative
affect and customer susceptibility to interpersonal influence. It was concluded by exploring relation of
impulse buying with individual traits.
Earlier researches, however, also prove empirically that impulse purchase behavior is not merely
function of personal traits, or impulse buying tendency, rather it the type of product which also has
significant impact on this phenomenon. Gender difference in impulse buying and impulse buying
tendency, during purchase of various product categories; have also been found significant in earlier
researches. Product Involvement Product involvement means the general level of.interest in the.object,
or the centrality of the object.to the person s ego structure (Day, 1970, p. 45) . In simple words, it
refers to the attributes or characteristics linked to a certain product relative to customer like its

The Swatch Company Lead By Nicolas G
This case begins with highlighting the success that had now gripped the Swatch Company lead by
Nicolas G. Hayek. Due to strong numbers from 2010 the company set the goal to make 10 billion.
This was only made possible by their multiple different brands across multiple different segments,
innovative technology, and coming out of a brief period of difficulty with their most profitable
flagship watch, Omega. The company now sets its sight on a new goal, surpassing the long established
brand, Rolex. In order to try and tackle this giant, the company and CEO debate how to best attract
potential customers through advertising, overall message, and through possible overseas ventures in
the United States.
As I said before Swatch wasn t always this successful. In fact, according to the case, in the 1960 s
their market share fell about 41% due to competition from the then popular inexpensive watches.
Throughout this time period it is interesting to see how their strategies evolved in regards to their
competition, product placement, and brand management. First, they opted try to combat the
inexpensive watches by making an inexpensive quartz watch which they later discarded. Another
watchmaking group took their idea which forced the company to move to the more high end market
and as a result they saw their sales drop. I don t have all the details regarding their decision of course,
but it appears that they seemed almost indecisive on how to handle the low cost alternative. It would

Top 10 Drugs and Their Effects
Top 10 Drugs and Their Effects
Drug abuse is a very common problem in most countries so it seemed like a good topic for a list. This
is a list of ten of the most abused drugs and the effects they have on people.
1. Heroin
Heroin is an opiate processed directly from the extracts of the opium poppy. It was originally created
to help cure people of addiction to morphine. Upon crossing the blood brain barrier, which occurs
soon after introduction of the drug into the bloodstream, heroin is converted into morphine, which
mimics the action of endorphins, creating a sense of well being; the characteristic euphoria has been
described as an orgasm centered in the gut. One of the most common methods of heroin use is via

It is considered mainly a recreational drug that s often used with sex and associated with club drugs, as
an entheogen, and a tool in use to supplement various types of practices for transcendence including in
meditation, psychonautics, and illicit psychedelic psychotherapy whether self administered or not. The
primary effects of MDMA include an increased awareness of the senses, feelings of openness,
euphoria, empathy, love, happiness, heightened self awareness, feeling of mental clarity and an
increased appreciation of music and movement. Tactile sensations are enhanced for some users,
making physical contact with others more pleasurable. Other side effects, such as jaw clenching and
elevated pulse, are common.
7. Opium
Opium is a resinous narcotic formed from the latex released by lacerating (or scoring ) the immature
seed pods of opium poppies (Papaver somniferum). It contains up to 16% morphine, an opiate
alkaloid, which is most frequently processed chemically to produce heroin for the illegal drug trade.
Opium has gradually been superseded by a variety of purified, semi synthetic, and synthetic opioids
with progressively stronger effect, and by other general anesthesia. This process began in 1817, when
Friedrich Wilhelm Adam Sertürner reported the isolation of pure morphine from opium after at least
thirteen years of

Persuasive Essay About Rugby
I believe that the old English sport, Rugby, should make it s big return in schools as it would help
spark a new passion for something that has faded away for almost 100 years since the last game our
country has ever won medals in this Olympic sport.
For years, Rugby has been a neglected sport in the United States until recently it is now the nation s
fastest growing sport with over 1.2 million registered participants across the country.
Rugby may not be that popular here in the United States of America as of now, but it is very popular
in Europe and some parts of Asia. Also, Rugby has been in a few major events like the
Olympics, making it an Olympic sport which was introduced into the Olympics in the year 1900, until
its unfortunate end in 1924 where our national rugby team had won gold ... Show more content on

There are players that joined from the fear of the dangers of American football and saw rugby as a
safer alternative to football, despite the few changes that made rugby the modern version which is
played today.
Rugby has many similarities as differences with American football like the pads and referee which
was stated before. Some similarities between the two are the lines of scrummage or most commonly
known in the united states as the line of scrimmage, where the two teams are face to face with each
other, the difference in football is that the ball is thrown backwards and then given to the quarterback
which can be thrown forward. In rugby the player number 9 rolls the ball in the scrum where 8 players
bind onto each other and push forward so the team hook can use their leg to swipe the ball back
towards their team where they can pass to the outside players, known as wings, and those players can
run downfield and score a try. In rugby a scrum consists of the 8 forwards, such as props, a hooker,
locks, flanks, and the 8 man. They push each other forward to gain the ball, when the ball is in
possession they can pass the ball

Workers, with the beginning of Amazon purchasing Whole Foods which caused an outrage in society
the article says that many people were questioning if this was a good choice since Amazon is an

The Paradox Of A Paradox
Introduction
A paradox is a statement or idea that is contradictory in nature giving opposing meanings at the same
time. The use of paradoxes has been employed to engage readers to be part of the story or poem;
readers are tempted to pay more attention. There are direct types of paradoxes ranging from situational
paradoxes to verbal paradoxes. Most literature deals with situational paradoxes as well of verbal
paradoxes depending on what the writer wants to share.
Veridical paradox usually describes a situation that is logically true although it may sound ridiculous.
On the other hand, a falsidical paradox presents a problem that usually uses incorrect assumptions to
justify an, otherwise, wrong results. An antimony paradox is a self referential paradox lays out a set of
conditions and then asks a question, the resolution of which becomes self contradictory, resulting to
lack of a valid answer. On the other hand, a dialetheia paradox claims that opposite statements can be
both simultaneously true.
In the book Fifth Walk, the Rousseau has employed numerous paradoxes that are focused on his
personality and his state of solitude. There is substantial number of paradoxes that the writer has
employed most of which focus on his state of solitude. In the story, the writer narrates how he wished
he could stay longer than just two months. He further regrets that he should have stayed for two
centuries or the whole eternity in the island. A paradox is revealed where he mentions that

What does Nietzsche’s Mr. Daredevil-Curiosity report, when...
What does Nietzsche s Mr. Daredevil Curiosity report, when he metaphorically peers into the
workshop within which moral ideals are fabricated (GM I.14)? How convincing are his claims?
Humanity, according to Nietzsche, is infected by an illness. It is the kind of illness that has infected
every single man, religious or non religious alike. It is his aim to release his readers from the illness.
In much the same way as a doctor, he wishes to do so by primarily sourcing the cause of the illness,
and secondly by diagnosing it. It is Nietzsche s belief that this metaphoric illness is morality.
It is a striking project; comprised of three essays each with the aim of stripping the reader s pre
conceptions of morality, and instead offering the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Continuing the image, Nietzsche refers to some unseen people talking in hushed tones in the
workshop. In this workshop where ideals are made, weakness is being praised as achievement and
impotence into goodness . It is in this revelation Nietzsche expects his readers to be shocked, and even
angry, that their morals are based upon lies.
The Inner workings of the workshop. How our morals have changed over time
Thus far I have explained Nietzsche s notion that our moral system is based upon a set of lies
fabricated by a group of people. At this point in the essay I am happy to accept Nietzsche s
observation that our morals are perhaps not quite what they may seem on the surface. Having accepted
Nietzsche s first proposition ( that our system of morals are perhaps not quite as they seem), I will
now evaluate his reasoning.
Nietzsche begins his account by identifying two basic types of evaluative moral outlook: Master
morality and Slave morality . Master morality refers to moral codes descended from the aristocratic
classes, and slave morality to moral codes descended from the weak and poor herd.
Master morality is characterised by the value opposition of good and bad. Goodness is dependent

Comparing the Democratic and Republican Parties Essay
Comparing the Democratic and Republican Parties Ralph Nader campaigned for the 2001 Presidency
by arguing that there are no real differences between the two major parties. In a broad sense, that
statement might seem true. Major political parties play a majoritarian role in an otherwise pluralistic
democracy in the United States. They are both majoritarian institutions trying to win control of the
government. The differences between the parties lie in each party s beliefs about the purpose and
scope of government. The United States is a government run by the people and for the people. The
whole population may participate in governing through the device of having a much smaller number
of people act on their behalf. In a pluralistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All governments require people to surrender some freedom as a part of being governed and people can
justify surrending some freedom to this control in order to obtain the benefits of government.
Government has always served two major purposes: maintaining order, which is preserving life and
protecting property, and providing public goods, such as highways, state parks, etc. Recently,
government has pursued a third purpose: promoting equality. In the United States, the government s
fundamental issues are often defined as freedom, order and equality. How it decides to promote those
fundamental issues and how it chooses the proper mix of freedom, order and equality in its
policymaking has to do with the process of choice. Freedom means different things to different people
at different times, depending on what political context is being used. The two major senses of freedom
are: freedom of and freedom from. Freedom of means freedom to do something. It is the lack of
constraints on behavior. Freedom from means immunity from discrimination and it comes close to the
concept of equality. Order is viewed in one sense as preserving life and protecting property. Few
people would argue the need for order. However, order viewed in broader senses refers to established
patterns of authority in society and to traditional modes of behavior, such as how students should dress
in school (neatly and without outrageous hair colors) and what the press should not

prevention approaches, and improve scrutiny among AI/AN. Listed below are some of the activities
that included:
1. Working with the Indian Health Service (HIS) and tribal leaders of the CDC Tribal Consultation
Advisory Committee to discuss methods for developing and implementing scalable, effective
prevention intervention approached that reach those at great risk for HIV and AIDS, including young
gay and bisexual AI/AN men .
2. Providing support and technical assistance to the health departments and community based
organizations to deliver effective prevention intervention for AI/AN .
3. Ensuring that capacity building assistance providers incorporate cultural competency, and
linguistics and educational appropriateness into all services delivered . (CDC)
Treatments
The most common reason AI/AN respondents were tested for HIV was because of illness. The primary
prevention is to prevent, secondly prevention would be getting tested early/detect and treat disease that
has not yet become symptomatic, tertiary prevention would be staying adherent to the ARV
regimen/prevent further deterioration, recurrent symptoms, and subsequent events (Rowan, 2013).

Personal Information And Network Security
Personal information and network security is vital in today s online environment. There are my people
that are out there to get someone s personal information in order to either to seal the personal
information for financial gain or in some cases personal harassment. Ensuring that your equipment
and settings are kept to a degree that works well for your usage can minimize these types of attacks.
Settings can be found at multiple layers of a home network that includes the computer right from the
box, its system settings, user accounts, passwords, the home network security and accounts that may
be used online.
New computer set up:
I have set up both PC and MAC and have found that Macintosh is a much simpler set up for the basic
user. After powering on the MAC, it ask you for some basic information starting with the language
that you use and geographical location. Next your MAC will want to connect to a network. By
connecting to a network, most of the setup is automated and synchronizes with your existing Apple
ID. If you do not have an Apple ID, you can skip the step or create one at that time. If you are using a
MAC product, it is highly recommended that you have an Apple account. It is used to log into the
Apple store which is where most software, programs and updates can be found. Other software can be
found over the internet, but programs that are purchased through the store are far less likely to contain
malware. With an internet connection and Apple ID entered, the

Calcium Homeostasis Essay
Calcium Homeostasis
Kayla Smith
Anatomy and Physiology I
BSC 1085C Ref# 82458
Calcium plays a very significant role in our bodies. Approximately 99 percent of the calcium in our
bodies is stored in the teeth and bones. Calcium generates about two percent of our total body weight.
Calcium is crucial in bone formation, keeping strong bones and teeth and is known for helping to
prevent osteoporosis. Although calcium is mostly thought about in the bones and teeth, it also plays
important roles throughout the body. The amount of calcium outside the bones and teeth may be small
in comparison to what is inside the bones and teeth, but is very useful in many functions in the body.
Calcium is required in functions such as the contraction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Calcitriol moves to the nucleus of these cells and boost the role of proteins that carry calcium from
inside the small intestine to the blood. Calcitonin does the opposite of the parathyroid hormone and
vitamin D. While the parathyroid gland and vitamin D raise the calcium levels, calcitonin decreases it.
Calcitonin is a hormone secreted by the C cell of the thyroid gland that lowers blood calcium levels by
inhibiting bone resorption. (Lingohr Smith, 2011). Having high and low levels of calcium in the body
affects the body differently. Hypercalcemia is the medical term for high blood calcium. Having too
much calcium in the body can lead to an increased risk of kidney stones, constipation, nausea, and
high blood pressure. People with hypercalcemia may also have stomach, muscle and joint pain. Very
severe hypercalcemia can cause symptoms of brain dysfunction such as confusion, emotional
disturbances, delirium, hallucinations, and coma. Irregularly low calcium levels in the blood are
known as hypocalcaemia. Your bones and teeth will begin to deteriorate because your body takes the
calcium that is stored in your bones to carry out the functions that are dependent on calcium.
Hypocalcaemia can cause fragile bones, brittle nails and can cause frequent muscle cramps. It can also
cause joint pain, and put you at risk for bone disease as you age. Low calcium levels can put you at
higher risks for high blood pressure or hypertension as well as poor

Who Is Brutus A Betrayer In Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar is a story about doing what you believe is right, and sometimes the line between right
and wrong can be blurry. In the play, Brutus other Romans conspire to kill the man who may become
their new leader, Caesar. Patriots are typically looked at as being trustworthy, and Brutus murdered
Caesar, someone who viewed him as a friend. Looking at the situation in a vacuum can make it look
like Brutus is a betrayer because of that fact. However, many people incorrectly think of Brutus as
being a villain when he was not a betrayer or traitor, Brutus was a patriot to the city of Rome. One
thing that people may argue makes Brutus a betrayer is the fact that he killed Caesar, his friend, which
is not a very loyal act. Looking solely at Brutus killing Caesar would indeed make him appear to be a
betrayer. However, Brutus s last words are, Now Caesar, be still. I didn t kill you with half so good a
will (Julius 5.5.57). This statement means that he did truly did not want to kill Caesar. Brutus was led
to believe, by Cassius, that Caesar had to die in order for Rome to be free from tyranny. Ultimately
though, Brutus ended up wanting to kill himself more than he wanted to kill Caesar. Another aspect of

about the wellbeing of Rome s people. Brutus believed that action had to be taken in order for Rome
to be great, which is evident when he says: On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the
current when it serves or lose our ventures (Julius 4.3.228 230). His loyalty was to the country came

How Did Nehemiah Break Their Stone Wall
When Nehemiah s plan was put into action he started to receive opposition from surrounding nations.
Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites were the people that tried to halt the
building of the wall. When Sanballat heard of the rebuilding he became angry and mocked the Jews
saying, Can they revive the stones from the dusty ruble even the burned ones? Tobiah responded with
negativity, Even what they are building if a fox should jump on it, he would break their stone wall
(Neh 4:1 3). In verses 4 5 Nehemiah called out to the Lord against the people who are showing
opposition. Nehemiah asked the Lord to punish the opposition for trying to stop the Lord s plan and
discouraging his people. The wall was built to half the height, and the surrounding nations were
encouraged to work before the enemy started to affect the building. All of these enemies conspired to
come against Jerusalem because the breaches within the walls had been closed and they no longer had
control over Jerusalem (Neh 4:4 8). Amongst the People ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Editing Drafting And Persuasion
The use of editing, drafting, and persuasion are all beneficial in the use of writing, but they also
impact society by way of helping audience understanding. Drafting is the beginning, it s the
opportunity to discover what you have to say and how best to say it (Murray). Editing is a way of
correcting a piece over time to make writing less blocked so words will come more easily (Elbow).
Persuasion is the reason to make a speech or publish a document a document such as the Constitution
achieving what the author wants to say (Aristotle). The Constitution had a positive impact, written by
James Madison and a group of others who took the time to draft, edit, and eventually persuade
Congress to publish the document to the United States. Drafting can be a long antagonizing process,
but in the long run it ll pay off like it did for the Constitution. There needs to be a focus on drafting
including revising, editing, and reading (Murray) so that you re completely successful in eventually
finishing a piece. It took the authors of the Constitution 5 months, from May 1787 until the signing in
September 1787 (National Constitution Center) to achieve this. That shows that drafting can be a long
process, but because of the positive outcome to the United States, drafting was just the beginning part
of an impactful piece on society. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

without persuasion. Without it, the Constitution would not have been ratified the way it was, written
the way it was, or changed the U.S. the way it

The rich Mexican ceramics legacy was acquainted with Mexico by Spanish organization craftsmen
and artists of the Colonial time frame. Usually called majolica in Spain, Mexican Talavera draws its
name from the sixteenth century Spanish ceramics focus, Talavera de la Reina. While the multifaceted
polychrome and more run of the mill blue and white outlines demonstrate their Old World inheritance,

The most prominent and famous pottery made in Mexico is Talavera pottery. Talavera is a high quality
decorative earthenware pottery style that is recognized by its strong colors and detailed patterns
creating traditional Mexican and more contemporary designs. The cultural trait of using bold mixtures
of vivid colours in art and fabrics was also prevalent in the rich variety of colours used in traditional
Mexican pottery decoration. Mexican pottery was made by coiling the clay into consecutive circles up
the sides, followed by scraping and molding the coiled work until the coils could no longer be
detected. The Mexican wares were not glazed, but rather burnished and painted with coloured fine
clay slips. The Spanish introduced the potters wheel and new glazing techniques, including Majolica.
The colorful Majolica suited the Mexican aesthetic and the Talavera pottery is renowned for its variety
of Majolica and its mixture of different cultural influences. There was also a predominance of curved
lines and intricate detail. This mixture of styles was adopted by the local folk art pottery scene with
most potters working in family workshops, and everyone participating in the process. Talavera is a
particular method of pottery which involves two firings first with a tin glaze and then lead (see further
information). The brightly painted designs are applied between the two firings. Talavera is named after
a town in Spain. This clay is then kneaded and the pieces are shaped on a potter s wheel or in a mold
and left to dry. The pieces are fired at 850°C and become hard and terracotta coloured. More colour is
applied in traditional designs. The design is transferred to the ceramic using carbon on a paper stencil.
The resulting dot pattern is then used as a guide for the hand painted bright colours. The decorated
piece is fired again to produce

Negative Self-Image In Barbie Doll, By Marge Piercy
Negative self image among women has been a struggle in society for a long period of time. Social
media, magazines, and the pressures of society has caused many young girls to feel bad about
themselves because they do not look like the clothing model on the runway or the bathing suit model
on the front of a magazine. Females grow up with the pressures of having to be in shape, wearing the
best clothes, and putting on a full face of makeup for a male to find them attractive. Society has
deemed that only fit women are beautiful, and that idea has caused women to harm themselves,

The War On Terror ( Wot )
The War on Terror (WoT), also known as the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), refers to the
international military campaign that started after the September 11 attacks on the United States.[47]
U.S. President George W. Bush first used the term War on Terror on 20 September 2001.[47] The
Bush administration and the western media have since used the term to argue a global military,
political, legal, and conceptual struggle against both organizations designated terrorist and regimes
accused of supporting them. It was originally used with a particular focus on countries associated with
Islamic terrorism organizations including al Qaeda and like minded organizations.
In 2013, President Barack Obama announced that the United States was no longer pursuing a War on
Terror, as the military focus should be on specific enemies rather than a tactic. He stated, We must
define our effort not as a boundless Global War on Terror , but rather as a series of persistent, targeted
efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America. [48]
The phrase War on Terror has been used to specifically refer to the ongoing military campaign led by
the U.S., UK and their allies against organizations and regimes identified by them as terrorist, and
excludes other independent counter terrorist operations and campaigns such as those by Russia and
India. The conflict has also been referred to by names other than the War on Terror.

A Second Argument Pro Life Advocates
A third argument pro life advocates have against abortion is regarding adoption. They believe that it is
better for a woman to give birth to her baby at term and give it up for adoption than it is to abort it.
They say that there are endless numbers of couples in the world that are not able to conceive or it is
not safe for the mother to have children, that would be more than happy to adopt. As good as adoption
is, the reality is that it can be very hard emotionally for the birth mother. Placing a child up for
adoption can be very traumatic. The birth and the surrendering of the child may prompt various phases
of grief including shock and denial, sorrow and depression, anger, guilt, and acceptance. Some women
may feel it is easier emotionally to terminate a pregnancy in the early weeks while it is only a small
bundle of fetal tissue. Going through a nine month pregnancy is a long and taxing process physically,
mentally, and emotionally. In another situation, a woman may feel terminating her pregnancy is better

Grand Theft Auto Research Paper
Grand Theft Auto is a very inappropriate game for many ages due to the degrading standards women
are held to, the reckless use of vehicles, and the lack of respect shown for laws and law enforcement.
Fact is that the game is thought of as the most hyper violent game in history and is the most
controversial. Grand Theft Auto and its franchise has been awarded such a title by the Guinness Book
of World Records. The game is most known for the violent and misconduct that it contains in every
edition. (source cited)
The original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City game racked in only 0.04 million dollars which is a drastic
difference from the franchise s most recent, Grand Theft Auto V making sixty point eighty one billion

order throughout the game. If the officers, see the player enacting in any criminal act their job is to
make it harder for the player to successfully commit the crime. Grand Theft Auto is a compilation of
missions and the police provide a reliable enemy or challenge. Officers within the series are thought of
as lazy, corrupt, and bad drivers. The criminal acts that the players get involved in can reward them
with stars. Each case varies from level to level, but the more stars the crime receives the more wanted

unavoidable participation depending on the mission the player is on, for example a bank heist. The
police will not arrest the player because of traffic offenses or trespassing on private property. If the
player happens to get busted or arrested the player can then regenerate at the nearest police station and

The Influence of the Western Culture on the
Introduction
Culture is a broad term which has been described by various philosophers since decades. It has been
claimed by Raymond Williams to be ...one of the two or three most complicated words in English
language (Williams, 1976). Different definitions of the term, culture may have distinct descriptive
ways and criterion to evaluate human activity. It is important to define the broad base of the
sophisticated term culture , in the sense used later in the paper, to narrow down the discussion on our
topic.
Culture is a word stemming from a Latin word cultura which means to cultivate (Harper, 2008). It is
defined by Findley and Rothney as, systems of symbols and meanings that even their creator contest,
which lack fixed boundaries, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the same time Globalization allows different cultures to combine and integrate through having
common social activists, labor organizers, journalists, academics and many others (Sundaram, 2006).
Music, theater and the film industry has also been broadly influenced by the increased globalization.
Music has been a center stone of the sub continental background. It has been traditionaly been based
on the simple melodies and is regarded as one of the most well developed systems of the classical
world. The classical beats of the conventional music provide the true cultural and the traditional taste
to the sub continental music. Later in the 13th Centruy the sub continental music remained under the
influence of the Islamic presence. There is a faction who believes that the classic sub continental
traditional music dates back to Amir Khusro, one of the singers in the Mughal Empire. The
remarkable poetry by some famous poets brought the traditional music to new hieghts. However the
first influence of the sub continental music of such kind was widely evident in the 1960 s when it
found its way in the form of some extra ordinary play of the sitar (a voiln type instrument) by Ravi
Shankar on the famous Beatles album, Sgt. Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The sub continental
music made its way into the west with the well known players such as Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar

The Importance Of Social Class In Great Expectations By...
In Great Expectations, Charles Dickens shows that social classes existed but didn t limit the
characters. The main character Pip starts off as a lower class blacksmith but throughout the book
makes his way up the social classes. The social ranking a character had based how people treated them
and how the character thought of themselves. Helping others can benefit success in climbing the social
classes. Charles Dickens in Great Expectations, portrays that the characters were not limited to their
social class, but that social rankings existed. Pip shows how hard work can make changes to social
classes. Social classes can change with hard work. In Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, Pip is
portrayed wealthy in his lifestyle compared to when he used to work as a poor blacksmith with
common clothes. In the courtyard I took the opportunity of being alone in the courtyard to look at my
course hands and my common boots (Dickens, 781). This shows how Pip is becoming aware that his
clothes were the same as any other poor person and how he wanted to change his lifestyle to become a
gentleman. While Estella is next to Pip he, we folded all my bills up uniformly, docketed each on the
back, and tied the whole into a symmetrical bundle (Dickens, 861). This is suggesting that Pip has
accomplished his goal of changing his social status and becoming a real gentleman with his hard work
showing that social classes do not limit characters that they could move up or down the ranks. Dickens
portrays how characters are not limited and held back due to the social level they had and how hard
work helps achieve goals.
People were based on their social classes. Charles Dickens shows that the way people in the society
were treated and how Pip was self conscious because he was in the lower class. Pip thought only that
he was a common labouring boy; that my hands were coarse; that my boots were thick; that I had
fallen into a despicable habit of calling knaves jacks; that I was much more ignorant than I had
considered myself last night, and generally that I was in a low lived bad way. (Dickens, 782). This
shows how Pip thought of himself having a bad life because he was poor and how thoughts of people
being rich unlike him made

Scenario Between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie, And Patice
Scenario Explained
The scenario between Arnold, Bertram, Charlie and Doris is a classic issue of offer and acceptance.
These are two elements of a valid contract. The scenario also raises its potential of being an invitation
to treat as this is a stark contrast to that of an offer. That is, we must consider whether the notice
placed on the car constitutes a valid offer or if it was a mere invitation to treat. If this notice does
amount to a valid offer where Arnold outlines the terms and conditions (the price at which he was
willing to sell and his telephone number) by which he is willing to be legally bound we must look at
the possible issues that may arise and what possible steps Arnold can take to deal with his situation.
Arnold appears to be the principal party who makes definite terms pertaining to the sale of his car,
from this we can conclude that the notice placed on his cars does in fact demonstrate a clear intent to
be legally bound. This is a unilateral offer where Arnold outlined the terms and condition to which he
is willing to be legally bound, he is inviting the public to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A Comparison Of Kusamakura And Narrow Road To The Interior
Nature is inspiring and sometimes we forget the healing it brings to the soul. The novels Kusamakura
and Narrow Road to the Interior deal in great part with Zen Buddhism, likewise with nature and how
is it part of everyday life. Even though is difficult to achieve complete peacefulness, nature helps us
step outside our shells, our drama, our mental dilemmas and become capable of appreciating life on
life terms. Nature is in all our surroundings, it even appears in dreams and both novels do a great job
captivating natures beauty in poems. Some of these poems are haiku poems that contain originally 17
syllables. They are short poems that capture a big piece of beauty, of nature through time.

Literature Review On Coagulation
Literature Review
Introduction
Coagulation and flocculation processes are essential in a number of diverse disciplines including
biochemistry, rubber manufacturing and in water and wastewater treatment (Bratby, 2006). These
processes are typically used in destabilizing, agglomerating and subsequent removal of particles.
Coagulation is a physico chemical process which neutralizes the colloidal particles in water by a
chemical called coagulant. The neutralization forces the colloidal particles to join together to form
small aggregates called flocs which are easily filtered from the water.
The widely used coagulants in water treatment are metal salts including aluminium sulphate ,
aluminium chloride , polyaluminium chloride , ferric sulphate and ferric chloride (Saunders and
Saunders, 1991). The primary mechanisms by which coagulant can remove both organic and inorganic
contaminants from water include colloid destabilization, precipitation and co precipitation (Langelier
and Ludwig, 1949; Randtke, 1988; Saunders and Saunders, 1991). Mer and Healy(1963) deplored the
indiscriminate use of the terms coagulation and flocculation which is found to represent synonymous
concepts. It was proposed that the term coagulation be based on colloidal destabilization where
colloidal particles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The recycle sludge process has advantages over the conventional process because it produces a much

become larger in size. The nature of the precipitate formed in the presence of the seed crystals is
known to be influenced to a large extent by the seed crystal size, seed crystal amounts and agitation

Nike s older brother Kratos the god of strength, and power, Nike s other sister Bia the goddess of
power. These were the three brothers and sisters of Nike (Atsma 1). Artemis was a Greek goddess, The

all his lying implications that we (Toby and Dwight) were pals and our life together was a good one

She lifted her sword, with the impaled man (still gurgling) attached, and used him as a shield against
the firing. When the gunman s firearm clicked empty, Millie drove her sword (and man shield) into his
chest, now holding a double goon shishkabob. With a grunt of effort, she poullled her needle out of the
men, leaving their bloody bodies on the ground. Suddenly, Millie instinctively jumped straight up into
the air, just as a line of bullets rushed in from behind, barely missing her. In mid air, she twisted to
face her aggressor, and threw her sword at him like a metal javelin. It caught him in the neck and
embedded itself in the ground behind him. He stood slouched backwards, and slowly slid down the
blade by his neck until he rested on the ground, blood pooling around him and soaking into his hair.
One left. She faced the final goon, wide eyed and out of ammo, standing a few yards away. Though
his face showed his desire to turn tail and retreat, he began to run towards Millie, bringing his fists to
face face level. As he ran, Millie noticed he had a strange gait, limping because of a severe gash on his
right leg, possibly from one of the stray bullets previously flying around the room. Dodging his punch,
she struck a well aimed kick to his wound, sending him down to the ground. Bending down to where
the man lay gasping on the ground, Millie hissed in his ear, Why is he here?!

Rhetorical Analysis Of John Berger s Ways Of Seeing
Rhetorical Analysis Essay
In John Berger s essay Ways of Seeing, he shares his view on how he feels art is seen. Mr. Berger
explores how the views of people are original and how art is seen very differently. By comparing
certain photographs, he goes on to let his Audience, which is represented as the academic, witness for
themselves how art may come across as something specific and it can mean something completely
different depending on who is studying the art. The author goes into details of why images were first
used, how we used to analyze art vs how we do today, and the rarity of arts. He is able to effectively
pass on his message by using the strategies of Rhetoric, which include Logos, Pathos, and Ethos.
Mr. Berger uses Pathos close to the beginning of his essay to get the attention of his audience. To get
an emotion started that would make anyone want to know and read further. Where he writes In this
respect, images are more precise and richer than literature. (121) For anyone who may be passionate
about literature may disagree, it would cause an emotion. An emotion that would cause someone to
want a better understanding. He is using this strategy to get the audience interested, engaged, and to be
able to have an emotional tie to the subject. He explains how images have been around to make up for
what was absent. Words are words and mean what we read from them. Anyone can read a book
explaining how life was in the past, and an image can give a different story.

Doing Business In China Summary
Prior to reading the Harvard Business Review on Doing Business in China, I assumed that business
was a universal thing around the world. I assumed that business was the same in all countries. I
assumed that every country had the same end goals when it came to business. As a result, I assumed
that all countries followed a similar template for how business negotiations work. I was under the
assumption that business was all about numbers and money; I didn t expect to see so much energy

Americans buy products they see celebrities using in hopes of becoming more like the famous people

After reading the book Paris, Paris, Journey into the City of Light, by David Downie, the vision that I
have created in my mind was very different from Downie s perspective. It made me realized that the

However, we don t fully acknowledge the history and knowing why it is the way it is today. And by

That was silly of me. I found the history of Coco Chanel was amazing. She was just an ordinary lady
that didn t have anything to creating a brand that is well known today. In the chapter, Downie
mentioned Coco was a social outcast from the provinces and came to rule Paris society and almost
single handedly revolutionized the way women around the world dressed, smelled, and behaved
(Downie, 112). Throughout the chapter, Downie described Chanel s history, her love life, and how she
had become a celebrity during her time. During Chanel s life, she has gone through quite a few
boyfriends. Each one of them helped her advanced in her career. For example, Étienne Balsan, he was
Chanel s first famous lover. He had offered finance for Coco. Although it was Balsan that got her out
of poverty, but it was Boy Capel who gave her happiness, one who understood her passion and thirst
for freedom. However, they only remained as friends and lover, never a wife. After, Chanel s life
began to flourish. From making hats for society ladies and irrégulières, unmarriable women to the
birth of Chanel No. 5 (perfume), and finally the iconic handbags, one which she named Boy as one of
her collections. I want to visit her original boutique at Rue Cambon shop. The history of Coco Chanel

Ford Pinto Fire
The Ford Pinto Fires Case A corporation s social responsibility and ethical actions have long been a
discussion for consumers, suppliers and the government throughout the years. The corporations sole
responsibility was to provide a maximum financial return to shareholders (Carroll, 1991). This paper
discusses the ethical decision process in regards to the Ford Motor Companies Pinto Case. Discussion
of the different methods of ethical decision making and how Ford executives and employees might
have applied them and if they had or had not if there might have been a different outcome.
Background.
In 1971 Ford Motor Company introduced the American consumer to the new Ford Pinto. The car was
developed to compete with the smaller foreign vehicles. CEO Henry Ford II promoted Lee Iacocca to
President of the company for his innovation to enter this market. Ford rushed the Pinto into production
even after it failed several crash tests (Trevino Nelson, 2014). The vehicles were found to have a
faulty fuel tank that exploded with a low speed impact. Engineers of Ford tried several ways to
remedy this but due to the short productions schedule it was determined it would be too costly and
delaying production was not an option. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is unclear as to exactly how many were actually killed by the Ford Pinto explosive fuel tank but in
1980 the State of Indiana versus Ford Motor Company case made history (Becker, Jipson, Bruce,
2012). The methods Ford used in deciding to put the Pinto into circulation were unorthodox to
anything from historical reference. The most controversial was the cost benefit analysis done by Ford
where the company basically put a price tag on a life in comparison to fixing the fuel tank issue in the

How Are Montresor And Fortunato Alike
Edgar Allan Poe s short story, The Cask of Amontillado, is very creepy, much like Poe s other stories.
It is about Montresor and his friend Fortunato. Fortunato plays a lot of pranks on Montresor and he
reaches his breaking point. He does not think that he should have to let Fortunato play his pranks and
Montresor feels like Fortunato is insulting to him, so he plots his revenge. He waits until a night that
Fortunato will be drunk and takes him to his wine cellar to bury him alive, in the walls, behind bricks.
THE thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I
vowed revenge. You, who so well know the nature of my soul, will not suppose, however, that gave
utterance to a threat. At length I would be avenged; this was a point definitely... The theme of this
short story is getting revenge on your enemies. Edgar Allan Poe uses Montresor and Fortunato to show

It was at night, while everyone was out drinking and enjoying their holidays. Montresor killed
Fortunato in a wine cellar that was in his house. The murder was in the very back of the cellar, a hole
in the wall was cut out for the occasion. It was dark and very humid in the cellar. Fortunato knew it
was a bad idea to go into the cellar because he could get sick, his judgment was impaired due to him
being drunk. He also really wants to impress Montresor with his knowledge of wines. The murder of
Fortunato takes place in the dungeons of Montresor s Italian Renaissance styled château... The telling
of the murder takes place in Paris, and the catacombs mentioned are the so called catacombs of

Perspectives Of The English Revolution
Perspectives of the English Revolution
The first bourgeois revolution in the history of Western Civilization took place in the seventeenth
century in England. In 1640, began the Puritan Revolution and in 1688, there was the Glorious
Revolution. However, both belong to the same revolutionary process, which led to the denomination
of it as English Revolution and not English Revolutions, considering that the real revolution took
place in the course of the Puritan Revolution between 1640 and 1649 and that the Glorious Revolution
1688 was only its natural complement. Since then, various approaches have resulted in different views
of the Revolution.

The crisis of the British socialist movement in the 30s, divided into social democratic and Marxists,
stimulated the publications of the Left Wing. The publication of A people s History of England by AL
Morton (8) constituted the first major Marxist interpretation of English history.
The works of Christopher Hill by the quantity and quality make him the best Marxist historian of the
first half of the seventeenth century. His first study of this topic , Soviet interpretation on the English
Interregnum (9), summarizes the positions of Soviets historians about class conflict in England during
the seventeenth century, involving the feudal aristocracy and the clergy proprietaries shielded by
agrarian power of the crown in one hand and the progressive bourgeoisie and gentry in another.
In 1940, during the celebration of the 300 years of the Revolution English, C. Hill wrote the small but
still until today the fundamental study on the subject The English Revolution 1640. In it, the English
Revolution is understood as a class struggle. It was revolutionary and progressive, while at the same
time the destruction of the monarchy meant the abolition of the barriers to the development of the
country and to the constitution of a more advanced social and political structure. C. Hill insisted

Essay Promote Person Centred Approaches
Promote person centered approaches in health and social care 1.1 Explain how and why person
centered values must influence all aspects of health and social care work: Because everybody has
different belief systems, needs, disabilities, cultures, religious beliefs. Everybody has their own person
centered care plans that help us approach them in an individual way, even if we know how to assist
clients we still try to offer those choices and independence. We need to make sure we do not push our
beliefs onto those who cannot choose for themselves. 1.2 Evaluate the use of care plans in applying
person centered values: Care plans are the primary source of client information. We can make

if the individual lacks capacity it may be good to bring in family or an advocate to speak on behalf of

Explain the links between identity, self image and self esteem: Identity is finding yourself Self image
is looking at yourself Self esteem is accepting yourself 6.2 Analyze factors that contribute to the
wellbeing of individuals: They may have different religious beliefs which could mean that they are not
allowed to take part in certain activities or they may have to undertake daily tasks that we don t need
to. If an individual is catholic they may not take part in some holiday traditions such as Halloween or
they may like to go to church when others don t. An individual may cry or scream all the time which
can upset others, they may need more 1:1 attention to try and help or they may just need to be away

Why Mayors Should Rule The World
Imagine a world ruled by mayors. Nation states and federal governments become obsolete because
cities are fully capable of running themselves. Benjamin Barber proposed that very idea in a Ted Talk
he gave titled: Why Mayors Should Rule the World . However, his point of contention does not
account for three potential dilemmas: It would be harder to solve global issues, ruralism would be
eradicated, and laws would no longer be consistent. I disagree with the points made by Benjamin
Barber in his TED Talk; mayors should not rule the world because it would lead to a plethora of
conflicts and controversy. A common argument made to support mayors ruling the world is that it
would become easier to solve global issues. However, global issues are more likely to eventually be
harder to solve. For instance, there are currently 193 countries in the United Nations, an organization
designed to promote international cooperation, and to create and maintain international order. The UN
has done that by sending sixty nine peacekeeping and observer missions to the world s trouble spots
over the past six decades. There are now sixteen peacekeeping operations around the world, carried
out by approximately 125,000 men and women from 120 countries who go where others cannot or
will not go. If humanity were to dispose of nation states, the UN would no longer exist. Instead, it
would likely have to be replaced by a new organization called the United Cities (for example). If that
were the case, what

  • 2. Impulse Buying Behavior And Marketing Decision Making Impulse Buying Behavior It plays a very important role and position in marketing decision making. It can be explained as a tendency of making unreflective , spontaneous, immediate, kinetic, unplanned and sudden purchases. Impulse buying has got two parts cognitive and affective where cognitive is related with planning and latter one with situational factors leading to an impulse purchase. It provides hedonic reinforcement and reduces overload of selection. It is revealed that cognitive component of impulse buying is negatively related with subjective wellbeing, whereas affective component is associated to negative affect and customer susceptibility to interpersonal influence. It was concluded by exploring relation of impulse buying with individual traits. Earlier researches, however, also prove empirically that impulse purchase behavior is not merely function of personal traits, or impulse buying tendency, rather it the type of product which also has significant impact on this phenomenon. Gender difference in impulse buying and impulse buying tendency, during purchase of various product categories; have also been found significant in earlier researches. Product Involvement Product involvement means the general level of.interest in the.object, or the centrality of the object.to the person s ego structure (Day, 1970, p. 45) . In simple words, it refers to the attributes or characteristics linked to a certain product relative to customer like its importance, value, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Swatch Company Lead By Nicolas G This case begins with highlighting the success that had now gripped the Swatch Company lead by Nicolas G. Hayek. Due to strong numbers from 2010 the company set the goal to make 10 billion. This was only made possible by their multiple different brands across multiple different segments, innovative technology, and coming out of a brief period of difficulty with their most profitable flagship watch, Omega. The company now sets its sight on a new goal, surpassing the long established brand, Rolex. In order to try and tackle this giant, the company and CEO debate how to best attract potential customers through advertising, overall message, and through possible overseas ventures in the United States. As I said before Swatch wasn t always this successful. In fact, according to the case, in the 1960 s their market share fell about 41% due to competition from the then popular inexpensive watches. Throughout this time period it is interesting to see how their strategies evolved in regards to their competition, product placement, and brand management. First, they opted try to combat the inexpensive watches by making an inexpensive quartz watch which they later discarded. Another watchmaking group took their idea which forced the company to move to the more high end market and as a result they saw their sales drop. I don t have all the details regarding their decision of course, but it appears that they seemed almost indecisive on how to handle the low cost alternative. It would be ... This is a list of ten of the most abused drugs and the effects they have on people. 1. Heroin Heroin is an opiate processed directly from the extracts of the opium poppy. It was originally created to help cure people of addiction to morphine. Upon crossing the blood brain barrier, which occurs soon after introduction of the drug into the bloodstream, heroin is converted into morphine, which mimics the action of endorphins, creating a sense of well being; the characteristic euphoria has been described as an orgasm centered in the gut. The primary effects of MDMA include an increased awareness of the senses, feelings of openness, euphoria, empathy, love, happiness, heightened self awareness, feeling of mental clarity and an increased appreciation of music and movement. Tactile sensations are enhanced for some users, making physical contact with others more pleasurable. Other side effects, such as jaw clenching and elevated pulse, are common. 7. Opium Opium is a resinous narcotic formed from the latex released by lacerating (or scoring ) the immature seed pods of opium poppies (Papaver somniferum). It contains up to 16% morphine, an opiate alkaloid, which is most frequently processed chemically to produce heroin for the illegal drug trade. Opium has gradually been superseded by a variety of purified, semi synthetic, and synthetic opioids with progressively stronger effect, and by other general anesthesia. This process began in 1817, when Friedrich Wilhelm Adam Sertürner reported the isolation of pure morphine from opium after at least thirteen years of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Persuasive Essay About Rugby I believe that the old English sport, Rugby, should make it s big return in schools as it would help spark a new passion for something that has faded away for almost 100 years since the last game our country has ever won medals in this Olympic sport. For years, Rugby has been a neglected sport in the United States until recently it is now the nation s fastest growing sport with over 1.2 million registered participants across the country. Rugby may not be that popular here in the United States of America as of now, but it is very popular in Europe and some parts of Asia. Also, Rugby has been in a few major events like the Olympics, making it an Olympic sport which was introduced into the Olympics in the year 1900, until its unfortunate end in 1924 where our national rugby team had won gold ... There are players that joined from the fear of the dangers of American football and saw rugby as a safer alternative to football, despite the few changes that made rugby the modern version which is played today. Rugby has many similarities as differences with American football like the pads and referee which was stated before. Some similarities between the two are the lines of scrummage or most commonly known in the united states as the line of scrimmage, where the two teams are face to face with each other, the difference in football is that the ball is thrown backwards and then given to the quarterback which can be thrown forward. In rugby the player number 9 rolls the ball in the scrum where 8 players bind onto each other and push forward so the team hook can use their leg to swipe the ball back towards their team where they can pass to the outside players, known as wings, and those players can run downfield and score a try. In rugby a scrum consists of the 8 forwards, such as props, a hooker, locks, flanks, and the 8 man. • 7. The Paradox Of A Paradox Introduction A paradox is a statement or idea that is contradictory in nature giving opposing meanings at the same time. The use of paradoxes has been employed to engage readers to be part of the story or poem; readers are tempted to pay more attention. There are direct types of paradoxes ranging from situational paradoxes to verbal paradoxes. Most literature deals with situational paradoxes as well of verbal paradoxes depending on what the writer wants to share. Veridical paradox usually describes a situation that is logically true although it may sound ridiculous. On the other hand, a falsidical paradox presents a problem that usually uses incorrect assumptions to justify an, otherwise, wrong results. An antimony paradox is a self referential paradox lays out a set of conditions and then asks a question, the resolution of which becomes self contradictory, resulting to lack of a valid answer. On the other hand, a dialetheia paradox claims that opposite statements can be both simultaneously true. In the book Fifth Walk, the Rousseau has employed numerous paradoxes that are focused on his personality and his state of solitude. There is substantial number of paradoxes that the writer has employed most of which focus on his state of solitude. In the story, the writer narrates how he wished he could stay longer than just two months. He further regrets that he should have stayed for two centuries or the whole eternity in the island. A paradox is revealed where he mentions that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What does Nietzsche s Mr. Daredevil Curiosity report, when he metaphorically peers into the workshop within which moral ideals are fabricated (GM I.14)? How convincing are his claims? Humanity, according to Nietzsche, is infected by an illness. It is the kind of illness that has infected every single man, religious or non religious alike. It is his aim to release his readers from the illness. In much the same way as a doctor, he wishes to do so by primarily sourcing the cause of the illness, and secondly by diagnosing it. It is Nietzsche s belief that this metaphoric illness is morality. It is a striking project; comprised of three essays each with the aim of stripping the reader s pre conceptions of morality, and instead offering the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How our morals have changed over time Thus far I have explained Nietzsche s notion that our moral system is based upon a set of lies fabricated by a group of people. At this point in the essay I am happy to accept Nietzsche s observation that our morals are perhaps not quite what they may seem on the surface. Having accepted Nietzsche s first proposition ( that our system of morals are perhaps not quite as they seem), I will now evaluate his reasoning. Nietzsche begins his account by identifying two basic types of evaluative moral outlook: Master morality and Slave morality . Master morality refers to moral codes descended from the aristocratic classes, and slave morality to moral codes descended from the weak and poor herd. Master morality is characterised by the value opposition of good and bad. Goodness is dependent upon the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Comparing the Democratic and Republican Parties Essay Comparing the Democratic and Republican Parties Ralph Nader campaigned for the 2001 Presidency by arguing that there are no real differences between the two major parties. In a broad sense, that statement might seem true. Major political parties play a majoritarian role in an otherwise pluralistic democracy in the United States. They are both majoritarian institutions trying to win control of the government. The differences between the parties lie in each party s beliefs about the purpose and scope of government. The United States is a government run by the people and for the people. The whole population may participate in governing through the device of having a much smaller number of people act on their behalf. In a pluralistic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All governments require people to surrender some freedom as a part of being governed and people can justify surrending some freedom to this control in order to obtain the benefits of government. Government has always served two major purposes: maintaining order, which is preserving life and protecting property, and providing public goods, such as highways, state parks, etc. Recently, government has pursued a third purpose: promoting equality. In the United States, the government s fundamental issues are often defined as freedom, order and equality. How it decides to promote those fundamental issues and how it chooses the proper mix of freedom, order and equality in its policymaking has to do with the process of choice. Freedom means different things to different people at different times, depending on what political context is being used. The two major senses of freedom are: freedom of and freedom from. Freedom of means freedom to do something. It is the lack of constraints on behavior. Freedom from means immunity from discrimination and it comes close to the concept of equality. Order is viewed in one sense as preserving life and protecting property. Few people would argue the need for order. However, order viewed in broader senses refers to established patterns of authority in society and to traditional modes of behavior, such as how students should dress in school (neatly and without outrageous hair colors) and what the press should not ... Approximately 99 percent of the calcium in our bodies is stored in the teeth and bones. Calcium generates about two percent of our total body weight. Calcium is crucial in bone formation, keeping strong bones and teeth and is known for helping to prevent osteoporosis. Although calcium is mostly thought about in the bones and teeth, it also plays important roles throughout the body. Calcitriol moves to the nucleus of these cells and boost the role of proteins that carry calcium from inside the small intestine to the blood. Calcitonin is a hormone secreted by the C cell of the thyroid gland that lowers blood calcium levels by inhibiting bone resorption. (Lingohr Smith, 2011). Having high and low levels of calcium in the body affects the body differently. Hypercalcemia is the medical term for high blood calcium. Having too much calcium in the body can lead to an increased risk of kidney stones, constipation, nausea, and high blood pressure. People with hypercalcemia may also have stomach, muscle and joint pain. Very severe hypercalcemia can cause symptoms of brain dysfunction such as confusion, emotional disturbances, delirium, hallucinations, and coma. Irregularly low calcium levels in the blood are known as hypocalcaemia. Your bones and teeth will begin to deteriorate because your body takes the calcium that is stored in your bones to carry out the functions that are dependent on calcium. Hypocalcaemia can cause fragile bones, brittle nails and can cause frequent muscle cramps. It can also cause joint pain, and put you at risk for bone disease as you age. In the play, Brutus other Romans conspire to kill the man who may become their new leader, Caesar. Patriots are typically looked at as being trustworthy, and Brutus murdered Caesar, someone who viewed him as a friend. Looking at the situation in a vacuum can make it look like Brutus is a betrayer because of that fact. However, many people incorrectly think of Brutus as being a villain when he was not a betrayer or traitor, Brutus was a patriot to the city of Rome. One thing that people may argue makes Brutus a betrayer is the fact that he killed Caesar, his friend, which is not a very loyal act. Looking solely at Brutus killing Caesar would indeed make him appear to be a betrayer. However, Brutus s last words are, Now Caesar, be still. I didn t kill you with half so good a will (Julius 5.5.57). This statement means that he did truly did not want to kill Caesar. Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites were the people that tried to halt the building of the wall. When Sanballat heard of the rebuilding he became angry and mocked the Jews saying, Can they revive the stones from the dusty ruble even the burned ones? Tobiah responded with negativity, Even what they are building if a fox should jump on it, he would break their stone wall (Neh 4:1 3). In verses 4 5 Nehemiah called out to the Lord against the people who are showing opposition. Essay On Editing Drafting And Persuasion The use of editing, drafting, and persuasion are all beneficial in the use of writing, but they also impact society by way of helping audience understanding. Drafting is the beginning, it s the opportunity to discover what you have to say and how best to say it (Murray). Editing is a way of correcting a piece over time to make writing less blocked so words will come more easily (Elbow). Persuasion is the reason to make a speech or publish a document a document such as the Constitution achieving what the author wants to say (Aristotle). The Constitution had a positive impact, written by James Madison and a group of others who took the time to draft, edit, and eventually persuade Congress to publish the document to the United States. Drafting can be a long antagonizing process, but in the long run it ll pay off like it did for the Constitution. There needs to be a focus on drafting including revising, editing, and reading (Murray) so that you re completely successful in eventually finishing a piece. It took the authors of the Constitution 5 months, from May 1787 until the signing in September 1787 (National Constitution Center) to achieve this. The most prominent and famous pottery made in Mexico is Talavera pottery. Talavera is a high quality decorative earthenware pottery style that is recognized by its strong colors and detailed patterns creating traditional Mexican and more contemporary designs. The cultural trait of using bold mixtures of vivid colours in art and fabrics was also prevalent in the rich variety of colours used in traditional Mexican pottery decoration. Mexican pottery was made by coiling the clay into consecutive circles up the sides, followed by scraping and molding the coiled work until the coils could no longer be detected. The Mexican wares were not glazed, but rather burnished and painted with coloured fine clay slips. The Spanish introduced the potters wheel and new glazing techniques, including Majolica. The colorful Majolica suited the Mexican aesthetic and the Talavera pottery is renowned for its variety of Majolica and its mixture of different cultural influences. There was also a predominance of curved lines and intricate detail. This mixture of styles was adopted by the local folk art pottery scene with most potters working in family workshops, and everyone participating in the process. Talavera is a particular method of pottery which involves two firings first with a tin glaze and then lead (see further information). The brightly painted designs are applied between the two firings. Talavera is named after a town in Spain. This clay is then kneaded and the pieces are shaped on a potter s wheel or in a mold and left to dry. The pieces are fired at 850°C and become hard and terracotta coloured. More colour is applied in traditional designs. The design is transferred to the ceramic using carbon on a paper stencil. The resulting dot pattern is then used as a guide for the hand painted bright colours. The decorated piece is fired again to produce ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social media, magazines, and the pressures of society has caused many young girls to feel bad about themselves because they do not look like the clothing model on the runway or the bathing suit model on the front of a magazine. Females grow up with the pressures of having to be in shape, wearing the best clothes, and putting on a full face of makeup for a male to find them attractive. • 21. The War On Terror ( Wot ) The War on Terror (WoT), also known as the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT), refers to the international military campaign that started after the September 11 attacks on the United States.[47] U.S. President George W. Bush first used the term War on Terror on 20 September 2001.[47] The Bush administration and the western media have since used the term to argue a global military, political, legal, and conceptual struggle against both organizations designated terrorist and regimes accused of supporting them. It was originally used with a particular focus on countries associated with Islamic terrorism organizations including al Qaeda and like minded organizations. In 2013, President Barack Obama announced that the United States was no longer pursuing a War on Terror, as the military focus should be on specific enemies rather than a tactic. He stated, We must define our effort not as a boundless Global War on Terror , but rather as a series of persistent, targeted efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America. [48] The phrase War on Terror has been used to specifically refer to the ongoing military campaign led by the U.S., UK and their allies against organizations and regimes identified by them as terrorist, and excludes other independent counter terrorist operations and campaigns such as those by Russia and India. The conflict has also been referred to by names other than the War on Terror. In 1984, the Reagan Administration used ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. A Second Argument Pro Life Advocates A third argument pro life advocates have against abortion is regarding adoption. They believe that it is better for a woman to give birth to her baby at term and give it up for adoption than it is to abort it. They say that there are endless numbers of couples in the world that are not able to conceive or it is not safe for the mother to have children, that would be more than happy to adopt. As good as adoption is, the reality is that it can be very hard emotionally for the birth mother. Placing a child up for adoption can be very traumatic. The birth and the surrendering of the child may prompt various phases of grief including shock and denial, sorrow and depression, anger, guilt, and acceptance. Some women may feel it is easier emotionally to terminate a pregnancy in the early weeks while it is only a small bundle of fetal tissue. Going through a nine month pregnancy is a long and taxing process physically, mentally, and emotionally. In another situation, a woman may feel terminating her pregnancy is better than adoption if the father of the child has been abusive and wants to keep the baby. At that point, not only does that put stress on the mother thinking about the future for her child, but also brings more people into the decision, which can cause a lot of strain. Another issue facing adoption is the reality of many babies being born with serious physical and mental handicaps. Many women abort their children after finding out they have some sort of ... • 26. The Importance Of Social Class In Great Expectations By... In Great Expectations, Charles Dickens shows that social classes existed but didn t limit the characters. The main character Pip starts off as a lower class blacksmith but throughout the book makes his way up the social classes. The social ranking a character had based how people treated them and how the character thought of themselves. Helping others can benefit success in climbing the social classes. Charles Dickens in Great Expectations, portrays that the characters were not limited to their social class, but that social rankings existed. Pip shows how hard work can make changes to social classes. Social classes can change with hard work. In Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, Pip is portrayed wealthy in his lifestyle compared to when he used to work as a poor blacksmith with common clothes. In the courtyard I took the opportunity of being alone in the courtyard to look at my course hands and my common boots (Dickens, 781). This shows how Pip is becoming aware that his clothes were the same as any other poor person and how he wanted to change his lifestyle to become a gentleman. While Estella is next to Pip he, we folded all my bills up uniformly, docketed each on the back, and tied the whole into a symmetrical bundle (Dickens, 861). This is suggesting that Pip has accomplished his goal of changing his social status and becoming a real gentleman with his hard work showing that social classes do not limit characters that they could move up or down the ranks. Dickens portrays how characters are not limited and held back due to the social level they had and how hard work helps achieve goals. People were based on their social classes. Charles Dickens shows that the way people in the society were treated and how Pip was self conscious because he was in the lower class. Pip thought only that he was a common labouring boy; that my hands were coarse; that my boots were thick; that I had fallen into a despicable habit of calling knaves jacks; that I was much more ignorant than I had considered myself last night, and generally that I was in a low lived bad way. These are two elements of a valid contract. The scenario also raises its potential of being an invitation to treat as this is a stark contrast to that of an offer. That is, we must consider whether the notice placed on the car constitutes a valid offer or if it was a mere invitation to treat. If this notice does amount to a valid offer where Arnold outlines the terms and conditions (the price at which he was willing to sell and his telephone number) by which he is willing to be legally bound we must look at the possible issues that may arise and what possible steps Arnold can take to deal with his situation. Arnold appears to be the principal party who makes definite terms pertaining to the sale of his car, from this we can conclude that the notice placed on his cars does in fact demonstrate a clear intent to be legally bound. • 29. Literature Review On Coagulation Literature Review Introduction Coagulation and flocculation processes are essential in a number of diverse disciplines including biochemistry, rubber manufacturing and in water and wastewater treatment (Bratby, 2006). These processes are typically used in destabilizing, agglomerating and subsequent removal of particles. Coagulation is a physico chemical process which neutralizes the colloidal particles in water by a chemical called coagulant. The neutralization forces the colloidal particles to join together to form small aggregates called flocs which are easily filtered from the water. The widely used coagulants in water treatment are metal salts including aluminium sulphate , aluminium chloride , polyaluminium chloride , ferric sulphate and ferric chloride (Saunders and Saunders, 1991). The primary mechanisms by which coagulant can remove both organic and inorganic contaminants from water include colloid destabilization, precipitation and co precipitation (Langelier and Ludwig, 1949; Randtke, 1988; Saunders and Saunders, 1991). Mer and Healy(1963) deplored the indiscriminate use of the terms coagulation and flocculation which is found to represent synonymous concepts. I assumed that business was the same in all countries. I assumed that every country had the same end goals when it came to business. As a result, I assumed that all countries followed a similar template for how business negotiations work. I was under the assumption that business was all about numbers and money; I didn t expect to see so much energy focused on creating relationships. One of my favorite parts of this book was learning about how advertising differs in China. In America, advertising is flashy. Many advertisements feature celebrities in hopes of gaining consumers attention. Americans buy products they see celebrities using in hopes of becoming more like the famous people they see using the products. This is very different from advertising in China. In China, ads place a large focus on the facts. Product advertisements include the features and specifications of a product. People in China want to know what the product is, how it is used and how it works. There is less of an emphasis on trying to make a products look cool instead the goal is to show the product and help it gain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After reading the book Paris, Paris, Journey into the City of Light, by David Downie, the vision that I have created in my mind was very different from Downie s perspective. In 1640, began the Puritan Revolution and in 1688, there was the Glorious Revolution. • 49. Why Mayors Should Rule The World Imagine a world ruled by mayors. Nation states and federal governments become obsolete because cities are fully capable of running themselves. Benjamin Barber proposed that very idea in a Ted Talk he gave titled: Why Mayors Should Rule the World . However, his point of contention does not account for three potential dilemmas: It would be harder to solve global issues, ruralism would be eradicated, and laws would no longer be consistent. I disagree with the points made by Benjamin Barber in his TED Talk; mayors should not rule the world because it would lead to a plethora of conflicts and controversy. A common argument made to support mayors ruling the world is that it would become easier to solve global issues. However, global issues are more likely to eventually be harder to solve. For instance, there are currently 193 countries in the United Nations, an organization designed to promote international cooperation, and to create and maintain international order. The UN has done that by sending sixty nine peacekeeping and observer missions to the world s trouble spots over the past six decades. There are now sixteen peacekeeping operations around the world, carried out by approximately 125,000 men and women from 120 countries who go where others cannot or will not go. If humanity were to dispose of nation states, the UN would no longer exist. Instead, it would likely have to be replaced by a new organization called the United Cities (for example).
