Article 5 of Indian Constitution
• Nationality When the Constitution was first
ratified. (c) A person is considered an Indian
citizen if they have lived regularly in Indian
territory for at least five years prior to such start.
• All Indian citizens are those who, at the time of
the Constitution's adoption, have their place of
residence within the country of India and who
were either born there, have one of their parents
born there, or have been regularly residing there
for at least five years prior to the Constitution's
adoption.
