12. AND FOR MANY PEOPLE, YOUR GENDER
AFFECTS YOUR HUMAN RIGHTS
13.
14. YOU FIX IT!
YOUR TASK THIS WEEK IS TO COME
UP WITH AN ANSWER TO THE
FOLLOWING QUESTION:
15.
16. YOUR PROJECT - THINK GLOBAL
To achieve this, you will first think of a particular kind of gender
inequality that really upsets you.
First you will Discover.
You can choose any aspect you like - focus on kids or adults,
people in Sydney or around the world, men or women, human
rights or stereotypes, whatever you like.
You will learn about it and document what you learn.
17. NEXT, YOU WILL CREATE
Next you will become innovators.
You will design a new product that improves gender inequality in
some way.
It will address only your chosen aspect of gender inequality, and it
will have the real potential to make a difference in the lives of your
target audience.
It could be anything - a toy, a book, a piece of clothing, a tool, a
household item, an educational device, a hygiene/beauty product,
a costume, or even a game.
The only requirements are that it is simple, useful, purposeful and
has the real potential to make a difference for gender equality.
18. FINALLY, YOU WILL SHARE
Finally, you will create a short TV ad to advertise your product.
It can be simple, but it should be persuasive, aimed at your target
audience and clearly focused on how your product improves
gender inequality.
These will be screened for all of Year 8 on Friday after lunch.
There will be rewards for the best products and ads.
