2. Myth 1- Viral fever is a deadly disease
 Viral fever is NOT a deadly disease . It is a healthy immune
response by our immune system to destroy and eliminate
the harmful pathogen from our body and keep us safe and
innately immune.
 Body has innate immune mechanisms to instantaneously
identify, metbolise and eliminate virus and rise of body
temperature is an indication that immune system is activated
against pathogen

3. Myth 2- The degree of temperature determines the grade of
infection
 The degree of temperature is not at all the determinant of
grade of infection as it only indicates activation of
immune system to eliminate infection
 Grade of infection can be monitored by grade of
weakness, impaired digestion and constipation/ no bowel
movement, weakness –unable to stand up or walk,
heaviness of the body,excess salivation (in infants and
small kids) and lack of taste for food. These parameters
originally determine the grade of infection in the body .
These are scientific parameters to estimate the grade of
infective fever in Ayurvedic science

4. Myth 3 – Focus on “eat and rest” in fever
 At time of viral fever, your immune system is on war against pathogens .
 There are specifically compatible nature of nutrients which cut off the viral
anabolism( multiplication) and at the same time, prevent your catabolism
explained ONLY IN THE SCIENCE OF AYURVEDA.
 These scientific nutrients in food ingested at the onset of good hunger will
stimulate antiviral metabolism by our immune system contributing to our fast
recovery.
 Complete bed rest without any movement and continuous day time sleep
impair antiviral metabolism and increase catabolism of our body cells leading
to progress of infection.
 Hence eating wise and staying active are important for fast recovery

5. Myth 4 – External cooling helps in fever
 External cooling of body surface even if reduce body temperature for a while
also has serious adverse impact in fever .
 Infective fever is an instance when immune system naturally boost
metabolism to destroy and eliminate pathogen. External cooling, slows down
the metabolism and favour pathogen friendly environment inside the cells
thus facilitating increase of infection for which again immune system has to
work more hard and re -activation of immune system manifest as high grade
fever again along with increase of infection
 Cooling has to happen naturally by active metabolism within cells leading to
profuse sweating and complete recovery from infection along with fever
recovery

6. Myth 5 – Viral fever resolves by Grandma’s
 In this worst scenario today, people are seen consuming all the herbs and
spices available to them listening to friend’s stories to prevent or treat fever
and this is really very dangerous.
 Ayurveda is not Herbal Medicine or Grandma’s Medicine . Ayurveda is a
science of man and medicine for man and treatment/ prevention for
infections in Ayurvedic science is intended strictly based on your immune
status, digestion status, metabolic status, circulatory status and drainage
status. There are NO antiviral or antibacterial treatments in Ayurveda.
 Ayurvedic science focus on inside factors of cause mechanisms of response of
your immune system in intervening upon your infection and other diseases if
any along with and take complete responsibility for your recovery by health.
 Consuming any herbs and spices heard from othersis not Ayurveda and it can
cause serious risks in your body

7. Myth 6 – Paracetamol and Ayurveda together is wonder
therapy in fever
 Do not consume any sort of other drugs when you are
dealt by a scientific practitioner of Ayurveda for your
infection by neglecting his advices.
 As I told, when your physician is handling your infection
with responsibility he is handling your fever too and
hence any sort of deviation from advice of your SBEBA
practitioner can cause predictable and unpredictable harm
to state and stage of your infection

8. Myth 7 – Fever recovery means infection recovery
 If you are on temperature suppressants , internal or external, your fever may
fluctuate and immune system is totally confused and disrupted and hence in such
a situation, mere absence of fever no way ensures recovery from infection
 There are scientific criteria for recovery from infection explained in Ayurvedic
science . They are feeling of lightness of body and enthusiasm , weakness
vanishing, all sensory and motor organs functioning normal ( good orientation
and sensory perception), absence of any kind of physical difficulties / mental,
onset of good hunger and ability to relish the food , normal digestion and proper
drainage mechanism , good sweating and absence of any further kinds of
difficulties.
