2. Why do majority of Ayurveda physicians
deny making mistakes ?
They do not know that they are capable to make
mistakes even.
They do trial and error with medicines and treatments
based on self and shared experiences and based on
expert opinions.
Nobody taught them in medical colleges the
confirmatory rational standards from the science of
Ayurveda to verify the accuracy in their clinical
decisions
3. Personal shame
Majority have shame in accepting mistakes.
We are taught that when we grow up by age,
automatically we grow wise in clinical practice and we
tend to believe that only juniors make mistakes
We tend to believe that we do not deserve to be
questioned by any one , once we start growing
experience , acquiring awards and distinction
4. Misinterpretting success
We misinterpret most often that success is acquiring patients
and not reversing their disease .
As long as we get patients by business, tradition and politics and
make money irrespective of what we do and what impact
happens to patients , we are getting successful.
As long as everyone makes mistakes and nothing can be done to
prevent mistakes, there is not such a thing called mistakes .
Anybody can do anything with the patients according to what
they feel and getting benefits to the patient irrespective of their
nature, duration and fluctuation is what is called success
5. Clinical errors are unidentified and
unrecognised
No specific and specialised training to understand and practice the
diagnostic and therapeutic strategies of Science Based Medicine of
Ayurveda ever in the history of professional course.
Scientific health care practices can be developed only adopting
“shaasthraarthakarmaanusheelana”, culturing the intelligence and
wisdom of physicians in the highly complex rational standards of this
science , the first initiative of which is Science Based Evidence Based
Ayurveda.
SBEBA trained physicians can know how to reduce flaws in clinical
decision making and how to learn , refine and culture their wisdom
and practice from the mistakes happened based on transparent
rational standards of Ayurvedic science
6. CONCLUSION
Unless a physician realises that he can cause
mistakes, he/ she is dangerous to his/ her patients .
This is unfortunately what is happening in current
professional Ayurvedic scenario.
SBEBA standards are to be educated and trained to
physicians and clinical audit should be introduced
to reduce the dangerour irrational prescribing
neglected in Ayurveda continuing for many years
