FREE Professional Ethics Course (optional-please select under Related Items below): Saturday, 9AM-Noon
Workshop Hours: Saturday, 1:00-5:00PM and Sunday, 9AM-6:00PM
Reflexology is the art and science of working specific reflex points on the feet, hands, and ears. As the client's body relaxes with applied pressure, chronic stress symptoms are lessened, helping them to regain natural balance and harmony. In this state, the body has the ability to heal itself. Our introductory course includes lecture, discussion, and plenty of hands-on practice. Upon completion, you will be able to demonstrate understanding and awareness of Reflexology history, principles, Zone theory, anatomy of the feet & hands, contraindications, ethics, and benefits. You will be able to perform a complete routine on the feet, know how to integrate Reflexology into other modalities, and demonstrate proper hand and body mechanics. Most of the training will be on the feet. Some time will be given to the hands, because sometimes the client?s feet are inaccessible. However, we will not cover the ear application, because those points are best approached through acupuncture. If you?d like to be able to give complete Reflexology sessions and/or to integrate this effective and popular modality into your bodywork practice, come join us!
Additional Supplies: Participants are required to bring a set of twin-size sheets, a blanket, and two pillows (one for behind the head and one to be used as a bolster).
