FREE Professional Ethics Course (optional-please select under Related Items below): Saturday, 9AM-Noon
Workshop Hours: Saturday, 1:00-5:00PM and Sunday, 9AM-6:00PM
Positional Release is one of the easiest and most useful of soft tissue techniques to learn and practice. Participants will learn gentle manual treatments for relaxing muscle hypertonicity by resetting muscle tone to enhance circulation. The non-invasive application is effective on Trigger points and chronically tense tissue. Participants will explore the history, theory, and benefits of Positional Release, understand the structure of the muscle spindle fibers and be able to integrate this non-invasive practical modality into table and chair sessions by the end of the workshop.
Material will be presented through multiple methods, including handouts, lecture, power point presentation, demonstrations and supervised student practice.
By the end of the weekend, you will know the history, benefits and theory of both techniques, understand the structure of muscle spindle fibers and golgi tendon organs, and be able to integrate Positional Release techniques into your current massage approach.
Participants are required to bring massage lotion, several hand towels, twin sized sheets and face cover. We provide all other equipment and supplies.
