3. INTRODUCTION
LI-FI is a wireless
communication ,a utility
:
Business life
Hospitals
Research and
development
security
4. LI-FI (LIGHT FIDELITY):
LIGHT FIDELITY is a wireless
and uses visible light
communication.
LI-FI can’t penetrate through the
walls
It is transmission of data through
illumination by taking the fiber out of
fiber optics by sending data through
a LED light bulb.
This varies in intensity faster than
5. HISTORY
Introduced by professor
HERLAND HASS at
university of Edinburgh.
Established in 2011 at
TED global talk ,promotion
of idea through TED helped
to start the company-PURE
LI-FI..
6. WORKING:
Operational procedure is very
simple.
If LED is ON digital data 1 is
transmitted and if LED is OFF
digital signal 0 is transmitted.
A controller connected at the
back side of these LED’s is used
to code data.
Also called as 5G optical
communication.
7. LI-FI NETWORKS &
ROUTERS
LI-FI connectors and routers are the main
components for a network
optimal signal cannot penetrate through walls in order
to provide an optical WLAN , rooms need to be
connected to each other so routers are used.
server acts as a connector to external link like DSL
which covers radius of about 20meters & transmission
speed of 100mbps.
9. NEED FOR LI-FI?
Radio spectrum is congested ,
but the demand for wireless data
doubles each year.
Issues regarding radio
spectrum such as capacity ,
availability ,efficiency ,security
are solved using LIFI.
Speed of data transmission can
be increased.
10. SECURITY:
The radio waves
penetrate through the
walls. They can be
intercepted and can be
used for negative
purposes. Hence
security cannot be
achieved at its
maximum leveling
spectrum
12. ADVANTAGES:
•High speed connectivity of the rate
of 500mbps.
•Uses light rather than radio
frequency signals so are intolerant
to disturbances.
•Security is a side benefit of using
light for data transfer as it does not
penetrate.
•The issues of the shortage of radio
frequency bandwidth may be sorted
out by
LI-FI.
DISADVANTAGES:
•It can’t penetrate through walls.
LIMITATIONS:
•Only works if there is direct line of
sight(LOS).
•Data transmission can be easily
obstructed by opaque obstacles.
•The use of very high
frequencies(400-800THz) limits it to
very short distances and point to
point communications only.
14. USED IN RF AREAS LIKE INDUSTRIES ,
PETROCHEMICAL PLANTS ,
NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS,PETROL
PUMPS,UNDERGROUND WATER…..
UNDERGROUND
WATER
INDUSTRIES
PETROCHEMICAL
PLANTS
NUCLEAR POWER
PLANTS
15. Whole airways
communication are
performed on basis of
radio waves ,passengers
may face the problem in
communication media,
so here LI-FI can be
replaced..
AIRCRAFTS:
19. If LI-FI technology is used in
practical , every bulb will be an
alternative for radio waves and WI-FI
hotspots…
It provides simple , faster , efficient
wireless data communication & will
make us to proceed towards cleaner ,
greener , safer ,healthier , brighter
future…
CONCLUSION:
