Dialog

2013/2014 The 2nd Officers Training
Round Table Dialog
Discussion: Easily causes conflicting opinions and debate to occur

Dialog:   Allows people to voice opinions while listening to others
Talking Object (TO)
•
•
•

Only the person holding the TO can
speak. This makes it clear who speaks
and who listens
TO is in the middle. The person who
want to speak takes and places it
back when finished
This reduces the chance of one
person monopolizing the
conversation.

There is a secrete hidden in the TO.

If you drop it on high …
Round Table Dialog Process

After the questions is reveal

every one writes its down

on paper.
Ground Rules
everyone around
‣ First, anyone who wantsthe table speaks,
then
to.

talk too
‣ Do not to speak long. Give everyone a
chance
up

‣ There is no facilitator.

‣ Listen to what the other person is
saying.

‣ Do not argue.

the dialog
‣ Keepbefore. connected to what was
said
What If…

•

That person is still talking too long!

You could say “Hasn’t the TO been in one place too long?

•

I wanted to answer the question that was before.

You can answer the previous question, but you still need to answer the
questions that is before you.

•

I can’t think of a question.

Being silent until you think of one is ok. Repeating a previous questions is
also ok. Just take it in and relax.

•

I want to write this down.

There is no need to keep notes, but you can if you want.

“But things important too you will stay in your mind."
