2. Introduction
Asking for and giving direction is a lesson plan for early level of
language learning (beginners) which is intended to develop language
skills on the use of preposition of place.
The author of this lesson plan wishes to post a complete work on this
topic by providing not only a lesson plan, a worksheet on directions as
well.
Needless to say that this lesson plan has already worked out with
students from the English Level 2 at Corporación Unniversitaria del
Caribe CECAR
4. Lesson Plan.
Objectives
Students will be able to:
•kindly ask for directions
•Use preposition of place to give directions
•Understand an audio text regarding directions and location in the city.
•Interact in communicative situations regarding exchange of information
on directions and locations

Prerequisites
In order to complete this lesson, students need previous knowledge of
direct and indirect questions, polite requests. Preposition of place,
building in the city.
6. Time
•4 hours of class work and 4 hours of independent work
Resources and Materials
•Audio, video, worksheet copies, dictionary, video beam, flash cards
and slides, Computer
Instructional procedures
Students understand, learn, and retain information from lessons that
are meaningful to them. In order to make this lesson meaningful, the
way you teach the lesson needs careful consideration. Instructional
procedures involves a description of what you will do in teaching the
lesson, how you will introduce the lesson to students, actual teaching
techniques, and how you will close the lesson. Includes specific things
learners will do during the lesson.
7. a. Preparation (Warm up)
The teacher introduces the topic of the lesson by reviewing
prepositions of place with a game of locations in which he/she uses
a set of realia like toys houses, geometrical figures in 3d with colors.
The methodology implemented by the teacher corresponds to TPR is
an excellent way to provide input and immediate intake posterior
output when students learn by doing and interacting actively, this
way the emotional and affective filter is disable and learner are
more open to the class.
b. Presentation
The teacher who has previously reviewed prepositions of place
with a TPR methodology will move from preparation into
presentation of the linguistic and topical content of the lesson.
8. The teacher models the topic by providing clear example

The teacher will distribute the lesson worksheet to every student
which contains the instructions for class and independent work.
Students will follow every step of the worksheet which is based and
structured as a SAM.
d. Evaluation
When all students have completed the communication practice task,
reconvene the class as a group to recap the lesson. Ask students to
give examples of how they used the linguistic content and learning
or communication strategies to carry out the communication task
