Civ.works is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing technology to promote civic engagement. Their first major product is a web platform called civ.works, launched in 2017, that collects civic opportunities based on location and issues and publishes them for subscribers. Coupled with group discussions and vetted news sources, civ.works aims to improve civic information and engagement through an ad-free social network connecting people to discuss politics and take civic actions.

Founded in 2017, the 501c3 non-profit Civic Works is dedicated to developing media and
technology to promote sustained, meaningful civic engagement.
Our first major product is civ.works –a web platform launched in early 2017. On a daily basis
civ.works collects opportunities for effective civic action and publishes them for our
subscribers based upon location and issue affinity. For example –a subscriber in Newport,
Oregon that has selected “Education” as an issue focus can be alerted to a School Board
Candidate debate in their region.
Coupled with the power of groups and news from sources such as The New York Times, The
Guardian and other vetted sources –we are working to improve the quality of information and
citizen engagement using a privacy-protected, ad-free social network as the gateway for civic
action –while working in concert with model laws, elected officials and campaigns.
