This document summarizes a presentation on self-tracking devices. It discusses research questions about how physical activity changes when users do and do not have access to data from self-tracking devices. It also examines what personality traits make people more susceptible to being influenced by these devices and what incentives cause changes in user behavior. The presentation describes a research design involving a Xiaomi Mi Band 2 experiment to measure steps and calculate distance walked, finding differences between measured and reported distances.
