3.  Hepatocellular carcinoma is a type of adenocarcinoma .
 Modern treatment options are surgery, radiation therapy,
chemotherapy etc after which several side effects and
complications are seen.
 Pippali, useful in hepatic diseases and Ayapaatra pippali
are taken for comparative study for their in-vitro
cytotoxicity.
 Preliminary invitro screening permits enormous level of
simplification of the system under study, reduce costs,
more directly assess product performance.

4.  The proposed herbomineral combination is expected
to target the cancer cells and produce a synergistic
anticancer effect and enhance efficacy of pippali in
the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
 This study may help as a pointer in advancing drug
research against cancer in Ayurveda field.

13.  Nanoparticles are colloidal particles that range in size
from 10-1000nm in diameter in which a therapeutic agent
can be entrapped, adsorbed or chemically coupled
 Due to this versatality in targeting tissues and controlling
drug release, nanoparticles help to face challenges
delivery of modern, as well as conventional drugs
 For drug delivery, most of the sites are accessible through
microcirculation or pores present at various surface and
membranes
 Most of the apertures at cellular levels are of nm size

and most common type of primary liver cancer.
 3rd most common cause of death from cancer worldwide,

 Pathobiology- chronic hepatic injury resulting from
viruses, alcohol, metabolic or autoimmune diseases-
repeated liver cell death, regeneration, repair
 Symptoms- non specific- anorexia, weight loss, fatigue,
low grade fever, epigastric pain, cirrhosis, jaundice etc
