In a time-based journey. Let me explain the meaning of each level.
Thefirst level is touch-point …it’s where and when a service is provided to the user.
The Interaction is the design of functions for user to obtain/interact with the service
Interface is the methods and techniques to realize service interaction
Installation is the hardware to comply with the interfaces
Location is where the installations are placed within the space
In the base is the interactive service space level which incorporates all other levels of elements.
The framework can be applied by starting with an envisioned service scenario and dividing into a series of service touch-points
And…
The framework should be designed from touch-point level downloads to the interactive service space level from a user-centered viewpoint.
Not every corresponding levels extracted from the touch-point should be facilitated or specified
To summarize,
Firstly, The framework serves as a design tool to help designers deploy spatial- interactive resources to help achieve service goals at different touch-points along the service journey.
Secondly,
Thirdly,
UX, UCD, and service design could be good background knowledge when applying this framework
Lastly,
The first example is …
MojoiCuisine. This example is to demonstrate how we apply the framework to a catering service experience.
The service journey starts from customer entering the space, with a projection wall installation projecting visual interfaces greeting the customer
And then the waiter seats the customer and introduce the usage of the interactive menu on an interactive dining table
The customer then can browse the menu and order food via the interactive menu
And while waiting for the food to serve, he can play social games over the interactive dining table
While enjoying the food, he can further order other snakes and drinks if he wants via interactive menu,
After finishing the meal, the customer can pay the bill and fill out the feedback form directly via the interactive dining table
The customer leaves the restaurant, and the journey ends .
This spatial-interactive service involves one restaurant space,
Three locations: the entrance, dining area, and the exit
Two installations,
And two kind of interfaces,
All these form a spatial-interactive experience journey
This is some screenshots of the results (of the application)
And, the second example is…
Yun-Ching Real Estate VIP Center. It shows how we apply the framework to a Real estate VIP Center visiting experience…
by extending from a multi-touch presentation system.
The journey composes of 5 stages which is extended from amultitouch screen, from guest arriving the VIP Center, experiencing the interactive presentation, to making the buying decision. The slashes parts are the points with no intervention.
