IV. RESULTS/ACHIEVEMENTS
• Karnataka Department of Women and Child Development (DWCD-focal department for ECCE services) has already adopted Gulmohar
• Enhance parent’s confidence to facilitate developmental activities at home, despite their low level of literacy.
• Child’s father involvement in learning activities could be ensured through constant touch with both the parents at home.
• Contributed in lowering the stress among parents related to continuity of learning of children in COVID times.
• Gulmohar also provided children to get some relief of stressful situation

Learning through caregivers
Ms. Sumitra devi who shared her experience stating that since lockdown Shagun
(her daughter) was unable to go outside and was missing Anganwadi centre and
her friends hence she started being irritated by every little things and was turning
very dull day by day.
SCI staff shared started sharing videos with her which provided her with a very
easy step by step way to conduct activities at home. Within a week she was able
to see the change in her daughter’s behavior and shared this with XXY team.
Since then each day Sumitra devi spends at least 2 hours with her daughter to
make her learn new competencies through play method.
Ms. Sumitra also shared that “Pehle mai akele pareshan hoti thi ab shagun ke
papa bhi activities karate hain, mujhe kkhushi hai ka seekhna ni ruka corona ki
wajah se” (Initially only I use to get involved in activities with shagun but now
her father also conducts activities with her. I am happy that Corona Virus has not
stopped the learning of my child.)

  • 10. 23rd June 2017Presentation for Toyota CASE STORIES Learning through caregivers Ms. Sumitra devi who shared her experience stating that since lockdown Shagun (her daughter) was unable to go outside and was missing Anganwadi centre and her friends hence she started being irritated by every little things and was turning very dull day by day. SCI staff shared started sharing videos with her which provided her with a very easy step by step way to conduct activities at home. Within a week she was able to see the change in her daughter’s behavior and shared this with XXY team. Since then each day Sumitra devi spends at least 2 hours with her daughter to make her learn new competencies through play method. Ms. Sumitra also shared that “Pehle mai akele pareshan hoti thi ab shagun ke papa bhi activities karate hain, mujhe kkhushi hai ka seekhna ni ruka corona ki wajah se” (Initially only I use to get involved in activities with shagun but now her father also conducts activities with her. I am happy that Corona Virus has not stopped the learning of my child.)
