10. REAL-LIFE INCIDENT 2. Whoever commits dowry deaths shall be punished by imprisonment for no less than seven years, but which may extend to life imprisonment. KANPUR: The in-laws of a woman allegedly set her on fire for dowry on Thursday. A complaint against the in-laws and husband has lodged by the woman's family members accusing them of killing her. The accused are Ranjeet Singh, Shamsher Singh, Sarnam Singh, Kushal Pratap Singh, Shalini, Lodheshwari and Deepika. The Chakeri police have registered a case on the basis of a complaint lodged by the women's sister Raj Kumari. Raj Kumari said that her sister Saroj got married to Ranjeet Singh, a resident of Gayatri Nagar Sanigwan in 2000 .
