3 ways to avoid mutating 
into a mechanical

1. Create content for your audience, not your leads 
Don’t create content to gain leads. Design content your audience truly wants to 
see and digs! Once you’ve gained awareness engage with it so you can then 
acquire leads. 
2. Know your numbers 
Knowledge of what makes your audience tick guides the type of content you 
should create. Social channels and most IT forums - like Spiceworks - provide 
metrics on audience interests, demographics and other key indicators. 
Let the data be your guide! 
3. Surveys tell you the “why" to explain the “what” 
Data shows what happened, not why it happened. Send surveys out to
