18/7/2016Dr. Sneha Tiwari
8
Adi Shankara who lived in the 8th century A.D.
revealed the greatness of the Gita to the world. He
retrieved it from the mighty tomes of the epic, the
Mahabharata, and wrote a brilliant commentary on it.
It is this commentary which prevails as a classic text
even today.
Later great Acharyas like Ramanuja, Madhva,
Vallabha and many others came out with their own
commentaries. In modern times Sant Jnaneswar,
Annie Besant, B.G.Tilak, Aurobindo and many others
have given their own thoughts on this classic text.

11
The Bhagwad Gita can be studied from different angles
such as a historical document, a spiritual treatise, a
scriptural text for daily chanting and prayer, a sublime
poetry, an exposition of grammar and meter, a
management manual, philosophy of life, psychological
understanding of human, science of all fields, laws , etc.
depending on one’s own outlook and purpose.
The objective here is to study in brief about Bhagwad Gita
and talk about the Ayurveda points discussed in this
classical text. As Ayurveda is an ancient medical science
having it’s roots in all four Vedas . And about Bhagwad Gita
it is said there’s nothing to disappoint, one can not find
here if has the understanding and outlook for it.

51. CONCLUSIONS

With this study an attempt is made to find the science
of Ayurveda in Bhagawad Gita, an ancient treatise, yet
most read till date in the whole world.
Gita is not an Ayurvedic text, yet beholds so much
science of Ayurveda in it.
I have tried from my level best to find and reveal the
science as much as possible in this Grantha, yet I know
I have missed many things, and I am sure any one else
who will further work on this Grantha with the same
vision as I had, will surely reveal some more valuable
facts and some other significant points in this regard.
