Anupana is a substance which is used in conjunction with the drug to enhance its effects. Mahadalu Anupana of Chandra Kalka is a type of Dalu Anupana which is quite popular among traditional medical fraternity. The exploratory study was directed towards the compilation of the pharmacological attributes of medicinal plants used in Mahadalu Anupana.

system is as ancient as the civilisation of the

17. Preparation of MahadaluAnupana
Each ingredient enlisted are pounded separately and
mixed together .
Boluses are prepared with this mixture.
These boluses are heated using steam of water on low
fire.
Then these are removed from steam when the aroma
started to emit.
Finally juice is obtained by squeezing
out these boluses and Prativapa should
be added.
