2. Crosses are a big part of their game, they get good service and numbers in the box.
We need to get infront of players and beat any runners to the box.
They are happy to play back to the keeper from distance.
The long ball looks for the forwards who try and lay it off and spin out.
Play in a 3 front with outside forwards dropping a little in defense.
The whole team gets tight on goal kicks- there is a lot of space on the weak side.
They try to switch POA with long diagonal balls to the weak side forward.
If they pass backwards, the next pass is going forwards. A lot of up-back & through.
Defensive Analysis
Free Play
After clearing the initial ball from corners/ freekicks they are quick to get to the 18.
Defenders are athletic, they can be beaten if you believe in your ability and don’t slow down. PUSH
and RUN.
If pressed they will kick it out.
Back 4 gets tight in the middle of the field from GKs, we can exploit the space out wide.
Defensive Crossing
Weak side defender can be slow to get back, leaving space on the weak side.
Both outside backs can be attacked. If you get endline the centre backs drop to the 6 which leaves
space around the penalty sport for the pull back.
If they are given time to get back the defense will drop to the 6 with midfield on the 18.
Space can be found in the box, make sure you attack the ball and recognize how much time you
have.
Defensive Corner Kick
Zonal- All within or on the edge of the 6.
1 on each post. 1 at the front of the 6, 1 3 yards out on front post, 1 6 yards out on front post, 1 3
yards out in middle, 1 6 yards out in middle, 1 3 yards out at back post, 1 6 yards out on back post.
As the ball is delivered the zone shifts, they do not pick up runners.
After it is initially cleared the back line gets up quickly.
If it is inside the 6 the keeper will come for it. Her punches haven’t cleared the box.
Defensive Free Kick
Mainly man marking.
Freekicks around box- Have a 3 man wall with a couple spare in the box to attack the ball.
Everyone else man marking. Keeper will come and go through players but flaps at alot.
Offensive Analysis
Free Play
Try to get wide and overlap.
They want to get quick crosses and get runners infront of their defenders.

3. Central midfield tries to seam balls through to forwards.
Forwards like to receive balls and drop them back to midfield before spinning out.
Offensive Crossing
They get a lot of crosses off.
Majority from the left.
Support gets up quickly, at least 3 sprinting to get in the box.
They either find a target or play a textured ball to the edge of the 6. Incoming players are
committed and will slide to get a touch.
They will change POA quickly around the box to open the weak side.
#9 will look to run past you and get endline.

Attacking Corner Kick
1 on keeper, 1 at the back, 1 or 2 on edge, 3 in a bunch.
The bunch- 1 goes front post, 1 in the middle, 1 at the back post. Bunch reacts to service.
Short- quick pass, player with ball drives the line before passing back to the original taker
Attacking Free Kick
Long into box- 5 chasing with a couple on the edge for rebounds.
Wide into box- 6 chasing.
They will play short/ quick if there is space to run into or a chance to go wide.
Long Throw
#15 reaches the 6- Aiming for #5
#8 Reaches just short of the 6- Aiming for #5
Shots
#25 will turn and dribble at you, she can shoot on the run as well as cutting inside and out to make
space for a shot.
#14 will try and take a touch to turn/ find space and shoot with her 2nd touch.
#2 does a good job of getting on the end of crosses.
A lot of shots from 20-30 yards out. Shots from distance are normally hit with power and
dangerous if given time.
Make sure you track runners on the weak side as they are the main targets.

Not overly successful. 10/29 successful over last 3 games.

Punt & Other Distribution
Only 25% punts are successful. Sweeper keeper is the most successful distribution.
Keeper likes to put the ball on the floor and kick from there, she will pretend to punt and drop it.
Sweeper- either goes long or wide. Rarely goes short to checking center mids. If the ball goes back
to keeper have defenders sideways on and wide mids press up to outside backs.

She is confident and a decent shot stopper. She stays close to her line so hit them low to the
corners. Conceded a couple from 1v1s.
