Stewart And His Marbles 2018

  1. 1. Stewart And His Marbles By Paul Bass and Tim Craig
  2. 2. This is Stewart. Stewart liked marbles. He liked them so much...
  3. 3. He wouldn’t let anyone else get near them.
  4. 4. Not at all.
  5. 5. Every time he got new marbles... He buried them in the backyard.
  6. 6. Before you know it, his yard was full of holes, full of bags...
  7. 7. He had so many bags full of marbles. He could have shared...
  8. 8. with every child in the neighborhood.
  9. 9. One day a gopher from the backyard named Koko spoke to Stewart
  10. 10. Because Stewart had no real friends. Koko read to him a Bible story about a man named Judas.
  11. 11. And how Judas traded his friend to some very bad men for a bag full of coins.
  12. 12. At this Stewart reacted. Hey, that’s no way to be a friend! Friends don’t trade friends for bags full of stuff!
  13. 13. Koko answered, “Some do, if they like stuff more than people.
  14. 14. Stewart gulped.
  15. 15. “Gulp!”
  16. 16. It’s like keeping all those marbles sort of made Stewart lose his marbles, if you know what I mean.
  17. 17. Stewart did not want to be like that guy named Judas. Stewart decided to share his marbles.
  18. 18. Don’t worry Koko.
  19. 19. Even though he now has real friends, he still finds time for a Bible reading rodent.
  20. 20. And he is so generous that people call him...
  21. 21. Are you a Good Stewart?
  22. 22. Who is Stewart? Stewart is a man who lost his priorities. Stewart is a man who got a lot carried away. He’s the one who used to cling to his… Not just riches, his hobby, his shell collection, his TV shows, his knowledge, his disease, car, theology, trips to the Louvre, whatever. We can’t all be Stewart, but we can all be good Stewart. Good thing Stewart listens to gophers who come bearing Bibles. Balaam had an ass. Nebuchadnezzar gained a clear mind only after he ate grass like a goat for 7 years. When you start moving in the wrong direction, who calls you back? Do you have a good friend? Do you have a loving parent? Who is your Bible gopher?
  23. 23. If you don’t have a person to speak wisdom into your life, pray for one. A man named Yacob (known as James to many) once said, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him (or her) ask God, who gives to all generously… and it will be given to him.” As He gives to us, we should give to each other. For every good thing we have, we should share with others. We will bring happiness to others, and joy will take root and live in our hearts. Ask yourself, “Is there one thing that I like more than people?” What is it? Money? Time? Fancy Stuff? Toys? The last scoop of ice cream in the box? Your comic book collection? Take a moment and make a plan to share with someone in need..
  24. 24. Go thou and be a good Stewart.
