FABRICATED PERFORMANCE
Sensors are expanding beyond phones and other devices to be
more closely integrated into people’s lives through the clothing
and accessories that they wear. Adaptable sensors monitor
activity and provide feedback on the performance of wearers,
while embedded technologies enable additional capabilities such
as payment and communication.
IMPLICATIONS:
Health - Granular data capture enables wearers to make precise
changes that improve health and well-being, putting people in
control of their wellness more than ever before.
Marketing - With a deluge of real-time data from wearables and
beyond, there’s a need for solutions to make sense of all this
information, driving performance and personalization.
Retail - Encrypted technologies and embeddable sensors create new
opportunities to integrate secure purchase and payment systems
into everyday life.
MUST SEE: Panel: Cashless Payments At Retail | 10:45-11:15 AM,
Friday, Venetian
	 INTIMATE AI
Machine learning systems are getting upgraded with personalized
interfaces that enable people to naturally communicate to
accomplish tasks and even have simulated conversations. AI-
powered algorithms and contextual understanding allow these
platforms to more intimately know their users over time, enabling
responsive recommendations and predictive actions.
IMPLICATIONS:
Retail - AI-enabled chat and recommendation services create
opportunities for retailers to streamline decisions and repetitive
processes for consumers along the purchase path.
Health - Artificial intelligence creates opportunities to offer
personalized coaching, recommendations and support based on
an individual’s needs or data.
Media - Sophisticated AI opens the door to interactive forms of
storytelling and entertainment experiences that bring fictional
characters to life and more deeply engage viewers.
MUST SEE: Discussion: Robots Come Home | 9:00-10:00 AM,
Friday, Venetian
	 MULTI-SENSORY STORYTELLING
As a way to create dynamic narratives that better capture
audience attention, creators are combining traditional
storytelling techniques with digital and physical
experiences designed to engage a variety of senses for an
optimal participant experience.
IMPLICATIONS:
Marketing - Enhanced sensory experiences connect with
consumers on a deeper emotional level and forge one-of-
a-kind associations, creating a competitive advantage that
sets participating brands apart.
Media - Consumers are looking for media innovators to
create entertainment and journalistic experiences that
transcend the visual to engage all senses.
MUST SEE: Panel: Virtual Reality - Hollywood Does Cutting
Edge | 2:15-3:15 PM, Wednesday, Convention Center
	 SELF-SUSTAINED SYSTEMS
The promise of fully automated systems and assistants is moving
closer to reality with wide scale experiments in robotics, drones
and the Internet of Things. These agents leverage self-awareness
and machine-to-machine communication alongside responsive
action to support the continuous operation of households, and in
a larger context, municipalities.
IMPLICATIONS:
Home - IoT-connected ecosystems and robotic assistants create
new opportunities to proactively improve household comfort and
outsource a growing number of daily tasks.
Retail - Automated systems and intuitive digital assistants can
offload a variety of time-consuming tasks, enabling human staff to
focus their attention on personal service and attention.
Auto - Autonomous vehicle technologies enable consumers to
outsource navigation, delivery and safe driving responsibilities,
opening the door for new passenger experiences during every
commute.
MUST SEE: Exhibitor: Faraday Future Autonomous Concept Car |
Convention Center, Booth #4535
	 IMMERSIVE COMPUTING
The next generation of browsing and viewing experiences are
combining the 360-degree immersion of virtual reality experiences
with emerging interfaces to transform the ways people interact
within simulated environments by using gesture and actions
as input. This new computing paradigm creates lean forward
experiences that bring digital content to life in exciting ways.
IMPLICATIONS:
Automotive - Intelligent automobiles that accept a wider range
of human inputs, such as gesture, touch and voice give users a
greater feeling of connection and control.
Retail - Immersive environments can help retailers connect with
customers outside of the physical store, creating new ways for
people to shop online.
Media - Interactive simulated environments transform media
from passive to active experiences, inviting users to engage with
storylines in gaming and entertainment.
MUST SEE: Panel: Five Practical Uses For Virtual Reality | 9:00-10:00 AM,
Wednesday, Convention Center
	 RADICAL TRANSPARENCY
In an effort to differentiate themselves in today’s marketplace
and align themselves more closely with the values of consumers,
businesses are taking radical steps to share the practices,
impacts and stories behind the products and services they sell.
IMPLICATIONS:
Retail - Easily accessible information about retail offerings,
manufacturing and supply chain processes, and company policies
empower customer to align shopping choices with personal
values.
Marketing - Forthright and transparent communication allows
consumers to make informed purchasing decisions and decide for
themselves to remain loyal to a product or brand.

  • 2. FABRICATED PERFORMANCE Sensors are expanding beyond phones and other devices to be more closely integrated into people’s lives through the clothing and accessories that they wear. Adaptable sensors monitor activity and provide feedback on the performance of wearers, while embedded technologies enable additional capabilities such as payment and communication. IMPLICATIONS: Health - Granular data capture enables wearers to make precise changes that improve health and well-being, putting people in control of their wellness more than ever before. Marketing - With a deluge of real-time data from wearables and beyond, there’s a need for solutions to make sense of all this information, driving performance and personalization. Retail - Encrypted technologies and embeddable sensors create new opportunities to integrate secure purchase and payment systems into everyday life. MUST SEE: Panel: Cashless Payments At Retail | 10:45-11:15 AM, Friday, Venetian INTIMATE AI Machine learning systems are getting upgraded with personalized interfaces that enable people to naturally communicate to accomplish tasks and even have simulated conversations. AI- powered algorithms and contextual understanding allow these platforms to more intimately know their users over time, enabling responsive recommendations and predictive actions. IMPLICATIONS: Retail - AI-enabled chat and recommendation services create opportunities for retailers to streamline decisions and repetitive processes for consumers along the purchase path. Health - Artificial intelligence creates opportunities to offer personalized coaching, recommendations and support based on an individual’s needs or data. Media - Sophisticated AI opens the door to interactive forms of storytelling and entertainment experiences that bring fictional characters to life and more deeply engage viewers.
