CBS partners with Ford to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Mustang with various live experiences and coverage from April 10-17, 2014. This includes interviewing Lee Iacocca at Ford headquarters, covering a cross-country Mustang tour, producing Mustang documentaries for dealerships, and providing virtual Mustang content online. Ford will provide vehicles for promotions and work with CBS on paid media and dealership visibility.

CBS radio and affiliates
offer a sweepstakes trip to
the Motown event and
qualify consumers to win a
custom 2015 Mustang AND
a restored 1965 Mustang,

4. CBS LIVE EXPERIENCES- MUSTANG 50
During the 7 days leading up to the anniversary the MUSTANG
CLUB OF AMERICA is hosting a cross-country tour - Mustangs
Across America. A CBS News reporter will cover the entire 7
day event with daily webcast, blogging and mobile updates news features from
the road with coverage from local CBS affiliates and radio.
Day 1 – April 10, 2014: Los Angeles, CA to Phoenix, AZ
Day 2 – April 11, 2014: Phoenix, AZ to Las Cruces, NM
Day 3 – April 12, 2014: Las Cruces, NM to Midland, TX
Day 4 – April 13, 2014: Midland, TX to Dallas, TX
Day 5 – April 14, 2014: Dallas, TX to Jackson, MS
Day 6 – April 15, 2014: Jackson, MS to Atlanta, GA
Day 7 – April 16, 2014: Atlanta, GA to Charlotte, NC

FORD’S participation in the promotion is
multi-level including providing
automobiles for sweepstakes
giveaways, digital access, national and
local paid media commitments and
dealership visibility showcasing CBS
content.
CBS News works with Ford to produce a
short form Mustang documentary to
screen exclusively at dealer
showrooms in a CBS/FORD branded
environment. As a test drive incentive,
dealerships giveaway a Mustang/CBS
key chain with a memory stick
containing the documentary and other
CBS/FORD exclusive content.
6. CBS LIVE EXPERIENCES- MUSTANG 50
CBSNEWS.COM offers a virtual Mustang museum including
classic TV commercials, Mustangs In Movies/TV section,
24/7 coverage of the celebration, blogging and cross
country events and qualification to win the Mustangs.
Content and links to local Ford dealer groups offer test
drive incentive support.
CBS TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION properties like ET, Inside
Edition, Dr. Phil, Arsenio Hall, Wheel Of Fortune &
Jeopardy and Rachel Ray will be offered promotional tie-
in opportunities and custom content for their shows and
digital.
CBS RADIO & TELEVISION AFFILIATES promote national car
sweepstakes and web activity, page takeovers, dealership
personality appearances/remotes and test drive program.

- Multi-market local event screenings of all special content with local
radio/affiliate/Ford dealer support
- Branded entertainment opportunities proposed to all CBS Primetime programs
- Mobile only test drive game branded Ford/CBS
8. And if that doesn’t work…
Although there is only 5 weeks until the Mustang anniversary date, bigger
initiatives have been accomplished in less time. However, if the turnaround is
too tight, I would offer the follow upcoming 2014 anniversaries and milestones
as a launch pad for developing CBS News’ next Live Experience.
All CBS news worthy and all could be developed into experiences.
