software still doesn't understand what thing I should pay

Welcome back – the next four presentations are all about how we use technology – it’s revolutionised corporate and healthcare sector and whilst it has brought benefits it’s also brought challenges – this session is not anti tech but will talk about how to engage with tech better
The first speaker is Chris Flack. Hello, I know it’s 3.30 on a Friday so rather than me talk I’m going to show you a quick vidoe
Ironic that it’s microsoft and in 2011
My name is Chris Flack I’m the co-founder of unplug, our mission is to help you be the of master technology rather than technology mastering you - delivering fun, evidence based and engaging programmes on what we call Tech/Life Balance

We are close to a point where everyone has access to pretty much everything. John Kabalt Zihn a lovely quote – we are stone age bodies in a space age world. We need to work out what’s important and what’s not otherwise we’ll have information overload
So how are we doing in Ireland This is normal – the only difference we’ve found is with Gen Y and Z it’s a little higher. For any of you who are parents you know this is true
One of the issues is that it’s a norm in society. If someone got a book out and started reading at a meeting it would be frowned upon and yet using tech in meetings is seen as normal
We met with one of the largest consulting companies in the world last week and they informed us that Tech/Life Balance and information overload is in the top three of issues effecting staff productivity and wellbeing.
Here are some examples:
1) Lacy Robertson Learning & Organization Development Director at eBay
2) VW – All operational staff have their work email cut off from 6pm -8am
3) Full Contact – Pay staff to go on holidays
They all know that people are more productive and well when you take a break.
We are living in New world old rules
Ask yourself does tech deepen or diminish your experience
If you are going to change – must be fun
