launched the tenth generation Sunny in

After ten years of its launch, in 2020,
Sunny was discontinued. It also
happened because Nissan did not
introduce any changes in Sunny for
seven years. This made Sunny another
one of the average cars in the market
with an average look. In short, it fell out
of the competition in the Indian market.

The exterior design of Nissan Sunny was
based on Nissan’s V-platform. The front
has big headlamps, fog lamps, and a
Teana-inspired chrome-plated radiator
grille. The side and rear profiles have
rather clean and simple designs. Also, it
features chrome door handles and a
sharp shoulder line. The rear profile also
features stretched tail lamps, a steeply
raked windshield with a body-coloured
bumper. The design was dynamic and
gave a sleek look to the Sunny car.

Sunny’s spacious interior cabin is one of the
biggest highlights of this car, especially for the
rear passengers. Further, it has a beige-toned
dashboard and piano black centre console. Also,
it features leather upholstered seats with a decent
level of comfort and several infotainment options
to choose from. So, the ride is not just smooth
but full of fun.
When it comes to style, the cabin is rather simple
and not to the liking of people who want stylish
cabins. Further, it has steering mounted controls,
twin-pod instrument cluster which displays the
necessary information like trip reading, fuel left
to empty, etc. It also featured an integrated music
system with four speakers, an Aux-in port, along
with the circular A/C vents.
8. Engine and Performance of Nissan Sunny
The Nissan Sunny came in both petrol and diesel variants. It had a 1.5L 4-cylinder In-line HR15 petrol
engine with a maximum power of 99 ps and maximum torque of 134 Nm. Further, the diesel variant is
equipped with a K9K 1.5L 4-cylinder, 8 valves SOHC engine that gives a maximum power of 86 ps and
a torque of 200 Nm.
Further, it features McPherson Strut suspension in the front and Torsion Beam Axle suspension at the
rear. The front brakes are ventilated disc-type and the rear brakes are drum-type.
Furthermore, the petrol variant gives a mileage of approximately 16.95 kmpl and the diesel variant
gives a mileage of 17.50 kmpl as per the ARAI norms.
Nissan Sunny also features the twin-pod instrument cluster displaying necessary information like
average, distance to empty (fuel tank), outdoor temperature, and a lot more. In addition to this, the
infotainment and other features also include automatic temperature control, electrically adjustable
ORVMs, auxiliary and USB ports, and spacious boot space.
